My experience at Bob's was nothing short of phenomenal. I came with a party of 4 and we were seated promptly. The lighting is low lit and the decor is classy, but it isn't pretentious at all. It was a fairly laid back vibe (albeit a tad loud in the dining room.) Our waiter was top notch; super attentive, had great recommendations for wine and food, and always had a smile on his face. Now let's talk food: the waiter recommended a beef crostini appetizer and it was very tasty. Next came the main course - I went with the NY strip, served with gravy/onion smothered fried potatoes. Every bite was delicious, and all Bob's steaks come with a gigantic carrot (random right?!) that was so soft, and had a glaze on it I can't place. Needless to say that was good too. What struck me the most was the portion sizes for the price... The steak comes with the potatoes and the carrot, and the app wasn't expensive at all (like ~$75) After I polished my meal, there was zero room for dessert...I almost got carried out of there because I was so full. If you're in the mood for a big steak, give Bob's a try. Also random point of information: the table next to my group had a huge dish that had us all confused. When we asked them what it was, the guy said "we asked the chef if he would deep fry a big steak for us and cut it up... So he did!" THE FOOD Overall, the food was outstanding. The steaks were cooked perfectly, flavorful, and exactly what you'd expect from a premier steakhouse. The sides and appetizers complemented the meal beautifully. The only dish that missed the mark for me was the mac and cheese. It was more like mac and cheese soup - far too runny for my taste. It also had a strong hint of nutmeg and/or cinnamon, which felt out of place and overpowered the cheese. Aside from that one side, everything else was exceptional. THE SERVICE The service was outstanding from beginning to end. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and made sure every detail of our meal was taken care of. The entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Took the wife to Bob's Steak & Chop House for Mother's Day. We arrived about fifteen minutes early and had a drink at the bar. The ambience is very nice. It has a dark classy feel. Though the tables are bit close together for my liking. The staff were nice also. Since it was Mother's Day and because our reservation was at five (when they open for dinner), it was a bit of a rush. I was able to find parking virtually in front of the restaurant, which was nice. Though I imagine if you don't get there early, you'll be walking. Parking: 4/5 Bob's is located in the Shops of Legacy area so there's plenty of parking in the parking garages and local businesses. Bob's also has valet parking which is nice. Expect a little walk because the parking immediately surrounding Bob's is reserved for the valet parking. The good news is, Shops of Legacy is a pedestrian friendly area so you might enjoy walking around and checking out the shops. Atmosphere: 4/5 Bob's has a very high end feel. The ambiance is dark and wood. The bar (which is immediately to the right when you walk in) had a very nice feel. Bob's is not a large restaurant so there's two main dining areas. The back area, where we were placed felt a bit cramped. As I mentioned in my opening, the tables are a little close together. This is likely because it's not a large restaurant, so they're attempting to get as much seating as they can out of the space they have to work with. Unfortunately, this detracts from the high class vibe. Staff: 5/5 The staff at Bob's were all very nice. The bartender was very friendly. The hostess had us sitting at our table not long after we arrived. Which was nice because some restaurants will ask you to wait until your party is fully there. The waitress was also very friendly. We had kids with us and she was talking with them and being very accommodating. From soup to nuts, the staff was top notch. Food: 3.5/5 The food at Bob's is generally good. However I ordered the ribeye and honestly, I think the steak I grill at home is better than the ribeye I received at Bob's. My wife also felt like her steak was not what she expected. It's important to say the steaks weren't bad, just not what you expect from a higher end restaurant. Now, it very likely could be the quality wasn't at Bob's normal level because it was Mother's Day, and they had just opened so there's probably a rush, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't honestly report what the quality of the steaks. I had the glazed carrot, which was also good, but not as good as I've had at other restaurants. Overall: 4/5 Overall, I would say Bob's Chop & Steak House is a pretty nice restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and classy but also a bit cramped. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The parking is good and since it's in Shops of Legacy, you can walk off your meal by checking out the other shops. The food was good, but not what you expect from a high end restaurant. Great overall experience. Abel our server was exceptional and made our celebration feel seen and celebrated. The homemade bread and meatball were a perfect pairing, followed by a great Caesar salad with delicious homemade croutons. The chicken fried steak was fabulous not too thick and not to thin and their gravy was some of the best. The pork chob was lacking a little flavor, but the skillet potatoes were good. Our server Jessica was excellent the place was jumping on a Saturday night even with our party of four she did not miss a beat. Now to warm you this place is really cold we were placed under an air vent so when dressing make sure you have a heavy cover. Now the Plano location is a little louder than the Dallas location totally different vibe. Now for the food which was excellent the only downside side is the Shrimp Scampi is salty and Jessica also had that corrected for me. I gotta be honest, not sure why this place has such hype for its prices. We had a gift card to use, so came here and literally ordered no meat. Maybe that's where we went wrong, but for $60+ each, we didn't wanna order that way. So we ordered sides, soup, and dessert to add to our own steaks from home. The lobster bisque would be worth coming back for, and the bread was divine. But after that, we weren't impressed. Creamed spinach didn't have as much flavor as I would've wanted...I like my homemade version or even Boston Markets more. Brussel sprouts were okay, but needed a glaze on top or something to tie it all together. Broccolini was average, and you only get like 6 stalks for $16. Macaroni and cheese was fine, but nothing I haven't had before. Caesar salad was good. The roasted potatoes with gravy and grilled onions were good. But I gotta say, I'd order that peppercorn gravy togo by itself sometime. It was insanely good. The carrot cake left no impression on me. It was a little disappointing to know we were paying $16 for a single side serving, so not necessarily shareable. But it was all we wanted to order, so it was what we did. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us in and thanked us as we left. Even the valet staff. Scott at the bar was very friendly and helpful, and we left with bread and butter because of him. A regular company steak dinner outing to Bob's is a guaranteed great experience! Servers were very attentful to all our needs during the meal and offered many suggestions throughout the ordering process. Arrived at 6pm and bar was packed, so we got seated at our table immediately. Drinks were made to absolute perfection! Crabcakes and Calimari starters were flavorful and just enough for our party of 3. My lobster bisque soup was so creamy and delightful. I asked two staff members about moving to a booth and never got a response. Even a simple "no" would've been better than being left hanging. Terrible birthday celebration. Food was not up to par as last visit. The dining room was noisy due to servers talking unnecessarily like used car salesman. Our particular server did the bare minimum and made snarky comments such as oh great your card went thru. He also made sure to tell me they were only taking care of 1 of the desserts that were ordered and not all of them. Why would I think u would take care of all the desserts? Prime example of speaking unnecessarily. The grande finale was when they served my anaphylactic son nuts in his vanilla ice cream dessert even though he's severely allergic. We have nothing bad to say...we have always had top-notch service, delicious steaks, fresh seafood, fabulous wines and tasty desserts. I'm salivating as I write this review. Service is out of this world, from the moment you sit down someone is bringing you water, bread and butter. Everyone seems to hustle. Oh did I mention they have a coat check too! never thought I would be writing a bad review for Bob's Steak & Chop House, but unfortunately tonight was a very disappointing experience. We started the evening at the bar enjoying cocktails, but the service quickly took a turn. One male bartender was rude and made several snarky, condescending comments. I really wish I had gotten his name. The female bartenders were kind, but after our subpar calamari was served, no one checked back on us. We fully intended to order $90 steaks along with sides, but no one ever followed up to take our order or see if we needed anything else. After waiting far too long and feeling completely overlooked, we decided to leave. Bob's has always been known for great food and excellent service. We ate at Bob's for Mothers Day this weekend. I took my little boy who is 6. As a single mother, my little boy insist he pay...he brought his wallet and piggy bank money ($7) to buy my meal. Bobs staff was incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our experience wonderful! They let us take a little tour in the wine cellar room and get pictures. My little boy is a steak lovin guy..he loved his medium rare steak and of course the chocolate ice cream! The food was perfect. The staff went out of their way to talk to my son and let know how proud they were he brought his wallet and to always be nice and loving and take care of his mom! It was so sweet! They notified us that he didn't need to use his piggy bank money but that someone had picked up our tab! It made me cry! I am not totally sure if it was a regular or if the restaurant covered it but either way...it was extremely special...very memorable for my son..and we will both never forget it!!!! The last time we went to Bob's was in Dallas. I would say the 2 have similar but different feels to them. Instead of ordering a steak I got their duck in a cherry sauce. I wanted to compare it to one I had in New Orleans. I'd say it was ok, but not great. It had a lot of fat on it, and the fat wasn't melt in your mouth. The carrot was good with a cinnamon sauce on it. I did love the loaded potatoe too. Service was amazing and our waitress was great. She was kind and hustling around on NYE! I asked for it to be cooked medium rare and, sadly, it was slightly cooked past the point of medium rare which I believe is why it was tougher than I expected. The service to the food to the atmosphere of the restaurant was nothing but spectacular. I loved the quality of the food and the bang for your buck you get. There are a lot of steakhouses you see in Dallas that don't offer a side with your entree, at Bobs you can get a full meal worth every penny. The steak entree comes with a huge caramelized carrot and your choice of one of any four potato options they have. Many steak houses have a potato and vegetable option as ala carte. I loved the food and recommend coming to this location, very clean and the service was great. I would recommend coming here the steaks are juicy cooked how you would like your steak cooked and the attention to detail is amazing. This place is a must ! read more

We had a splendid evening on Friday. Our waiter Mark was superb and did everything flawlessly. To start I am glad we did reservations. They had our table ready and on time. We had several appetizers, meals and drinks. The burrata salad was amazing and something I could eat for every meal. We also had the steak tenderloins on crunchy toast that also delivered goodness with every bite. I elected the ribeye. The ribeye was cooked perfectly for colors. The flavor was good but I would not call it GREAT. I would still give it a 7-8 out of 10 but feeling like I was expecting so much more. I have also had a lot of well cooked steaks in my life. The meal itself was good. I loved that I did not feel like I had to get a separate side. I give Bob's a 10/10 for that. I absolutely hate when a nice steakhouse nickels and dimes you for something that should be a minimum expectation. Thank you. As a party of four we had plenty to drink and eat. CHECK YOUR BILL CLOSELY! This is for the McKinney location. Went to have a drink at the bar. Asked for my bill. Turns out they overcharged me for the drink. I had a Bombay Gin and they charged me for the more expensive Grey Goose. Honest mistake or intentional overcharge? I pointed it out to the bartender, who rang it back up with the correct price. I asked for a discount since paying $18 for one drink is not about the cost of the liquor but the flawlessness of the service. The bar manager and the General Manager, Dan, absolutely refused. They said that giving a discount cuts into their profits, and they were not going to let anything or anyone affect their profits. Its a pretty dead atmosphere at the bar anyway, so yes, they may be revenue challenged even though they charge $18+ for their drinks. read more

Took my girlfriend here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. The food was great. However, the table next to us had 4 men that were drinking excessively (2 were sloppy drunk) and the waiter joined in on some awfully sexual conversation about women and "once you go black, you never go back" was said at a volume that other tables heard as well. I was surprised the staff let it go on for so long. It made my girlfriend uncomfortable. We got our food to-go and skipped dessert. I learned from my last experience here to order my steak one temperature level higher than what I really want. I like medium rare so I ordered medium this time and it was perfectly cooked.
