This was definitely not a great experience at Outback liked I had hoped! It was around 930pm. We were greeted by 3 workers standing in the doorway, 1 went back in as we were coming in and told us to give her a second to get us seated! We asked for somewhere in the bar area and there were 4 booths that had guest at them already but more than 4 that were dirty and needed cleaning. They were not very busy as far as guest at tables. So of coarse ours needed cleaned first! The first initial service was great, after our appetizer (Blooming Onion) came to the table we didn't see our waitress till the entrees came! We waited 30 minutes or more for our entrees. I had the steak and unlimited shrimp! The steak was suppose to be Medium, it was more Medium Well. The shrimp with the garlic parm sauce was cold, but the baked potatoe was hot and good. Waitress could tell she was more interested in getting out the door than to take care of her last table for the night. What a joke your email was that I received today?!? The First thing it says was: Lower prices. Larger portions on our new full menu, First of all every time you have a new menu you GO UP on prices, which this happens about 3 times a year!! Like any smart person would know, all you are doing is false advertising?!?! First you said you are lowering prices, you are only lowering prices for about a 2 month period, than when you get people coming in after the COVID, you will jack up prices and come out with a new menu AGAIN, Also you said you have larger portions now, but yet your Outback Sirloin'S have got smaller, Example: 12 OZ Shrunk to 11OZ and 9OZ Shrunk to 8OZ, Do you see the pattern of false advertising here??? So we went on 2/9 we had reservations at 6:45 and got seated at 7 ( the restaurant had a lot of empty sections). The place they seated us was close to the front door and even i with my coat on was cold. We asked the waitress if she could move us to the other side, her response you need to ask the front desk about this, i went there and the fellow told me he had to ask the manager. we waited another 5 min plenty of time for a manager to show up and left the restaurant. i have never in my life seen this kind of unprofessional service. read more

Remodeling house; no kitchen. Needed a steak. First time got a great prime rib finished on the grill. Super tasty rub. Great baked potato and grilled asparagus. Thought the food was good, went back two more times.. Rib eye, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Great service. Order on line and pick up at door. Would return. Parking lot is always full. So I went back to this Outback this past Saturday to give it a second chance. The same thing happened AGAIN! My guest and I was seated in a timely fashion but this time our server never came by our table after sitting there 15-20 minutes, no silverware, nothing. Thankfully this gentleman name Justin decided to take care of us. The MOD came by to apologize and I explained to her about my last visit how it was a horrible experience and she stated that this time will be better. Sadly this wasn't the case. I have another card for this restaurant and honestly I don't think I want to use it. The service isn't good and it should not have to be someone who isn't our server taking responsibility of someone else and the MOD shouldn't have to pick up someone else's slack as well. Every year, I do everything in my power to give my wife a memorable birthday, including dinner (or lunch, in this case) at any restaurant that her heart desires. Today, for her 29th birthday, she chose Outback Steakhouse. We've visited this location many times before (we live less than ten miles away), and have always had a pleasant experience... but we did NOT expect the stellar customer service that we encountered today. Our servers, Charles and Ivey, went above and beyond to ensure that my wife was treated like royalty during the entirety of our visit. Our drinks never ran dry, our appetizer was very quickly delivered (so fast, in fact, that we weren't able to devour more than half of the complimentary bread), she never saw the bottom of her unlimited shrimp (her favorite), our entrees were fresh and delicious, and they even made a spot-on recommendation for dessert... rendering the New York cheesecake her new favorite treat. The facility was spotless, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the wait time was minimal. I cannot stress enough how astounded I was with the lightning speed of our service considering how busy the restaurant was. At the conclusion of our meal, my wife said that they made her "feel like a princess". Believe me when I see that I've NEVER seen her so pleased with a birthday meal. She was glowing with a smile a mile wide, and couldn't stop raving about the outstanding service provided by Charles and Ivey. We have eaten at Outback many times and had come away with an awesome experience; our steaks cooked perfectly, great service, pleasant atmosphere, etc., and my husband and I wanted to share the experience with our young granddaughter. But Thursday night (11/10/16) was a very different story; far below their standard for excellent cuisine and timeliness. Our server, Janice B. (Barbie), recognized that we had not been served what she thought were acceptable meals, and without our even having hinted that we were displeased brought it to the attention of the manager (Heather) so that she could address it. I really didn't want to make a fuss, but when asked outright I couldn't lie as the steaks were very dry and overcooked and the potato was cold and did not have any of the requested toppings, and the granddaughter was missing one of her side items. I told her I didn't mind having my potato reheated but she wouldn't hear of it, and insisted that we receive not only new steaks, but new potatoes as well! She made everything beyond right; she made it perfect, and much, much more! We left with our bellies smiling (and our faces doing the same). We are very appreciative of Heather and Janice B. for going above and beyond what was expected and giving us the enjoyable evening we had hoped to share with our granddaughter. I would guess that over 50% of the diners were families with children; small children with electronic devices. The entire restaurant sounded like Chucky Cheese on a Saturday. The bells and whistles of those devices parents give their children to shut them up were loud and distracting. Children roamed (ran) free range and you couldn't tell which table they belonged to. But enough about the ambience, the food was mediocre. That bloomin onion we heard so much about was all grease and no onion. The filet mignon was chewy, the salmon tasty but small, and would it kill them to add a sprig of parsley or something on a plate that dwarfs the food? The booth was dirty; the menus old and crumbled; the shades were drawn tight; and while the waitress was pleasant she came only once to check on us and we had to get another waitress to fill a request. Oh, and that house chardonnay: don't even think about it. Walmart carries a better one for $2.99 a bottle. Over $75 for a $20 experience. For that kind of money we could have had Chilean Sea Bass at Bone Fish. Big mistake. So Outback responded asking for my email address so they can "do better," only to ignore my email directly to them. My options are limited to never going to Outback in the future, which is easy, and/or sharing my experience with others, which I've done here. Forewarned is forearmed. read more

Introduced herself. took our drink orders. The food was good I ordered a porterhouse well done (the steak came well done as requested). My first time eating at Outback. My husband, my three kids and I only decided to go because I had won a $25 gift card from work during Christmas. The service was great! My husband ordered the 9oz classic sirloin I believe, medium rare. I had the no rules parmasean with chicken. The steak was burnt and tough on one side, and wasn't even cooked medium rare. The middle was completely rare. And my chicken was HORRIBLE! It was over seasoned. It was so salty I couldn't even finish it. I don't think we will be going back any time soon. read more

we had dinner at outback,, hickory sunday.......I love lobster tails,,,,,,,so I ordered the fillet minion,,,,with lobster tail,,,, and with it,,,, an xtra lobster tail........ I was disappointed,,,, to say the least..... the two lobster tails were so small,,,,i could hardly believe it...... their menu has a picture of a large lobster tail.......these two baby tails were a major disappointment.......I could have eaten a dozen of these baby tails.......I don't mind paying more ,, but I was definitely duped,,,,,,i felt insulted,,,, I mentioned the large lobster tail in the menu,,,, and told the server I hoped it would be at least close to that size,,,,,,,i could hardly believe my eyes when he brought the baby tails to my table..... outback somehow believes treating us with contempt,,,, is an acceptable practice..... I love the chain Outback Steakhouse. A few years ago, we enjoyed eating here, but recently, the place has really gone downhill. After the last three visits, we decided to stop going to the one in Hickory. Why? One time our waiter completely forgot about us. After fifteen minutes, we had to hunt him down just to get our drink orders put in. The second time, the waitress was more interested in chatting in the back than actually serving us. Got our orders wrong and my boyfriend had to go to the bar to get a drink refill. The third time, they couldn't print receipts and tried to overcharge us. We asked them to list the things we had ordered to make sure the total was correct; they refused. So now we only go to Outback when we are not in Hickory. It' really sad because we love their food, but not so much the staff here. Not worth it. read more

Then we just sat for 20 minutes with many waiters and waitresses walking by with no word on who is going to serve us. So we decided to leave. This is no way to treat your customers. This evening I ate at this Outback steakhouse because the local Longhorn was full to capacity. I ate in the bar and the service was reasonably good. My Wedge Salad was A bit under dressed but good nonetheless. The steak I ordered (14oz Ribeye) however was the toughest steak I have ever eaten in my life. Given the fact that I spent seven years in the military that is saying a lot! The steak was seasoned well and cooked properly but the cut of meat was extremely poor leaving me with the impression that the buyers for Outback are procuring poor quality meat. I find that awfully surprising for a restaurant that should pride itself on it's steak. Now that I think about it, it's no surprise that the local Longhorn was overcrowded! read more

The three stars are for the desserts, certainly NOT their steaks. I never order a steak at an Outback anywhere! Learned years ago it will be tough and not prepared as I requested. Stick with Alice Springs Chicken and you cannot go wrong. Sometimes I just order the Alice Springs Quesadilla off the appetizer menu as my entree!!! Iced tea??? Usually caramel colored water. Have given up on good tea at an Outback; we just order Sprite or Coke and be done with it. One redeeming feature of Outbacks is their gluten free menu! We have a relative with Celiac's disease and now he gets to eat in a restaurant like a "normal" person instead of staying home while all of us go out! read more
