My wife and I come here quite a bit and sit at the bar. Tonight we came ordered coconut shrimp which was good. My wife ordered filet and lobster and I ordered Parmesan crusted chicken. My wife's came with two sides she ordered a salad and a sweet potato. Mine came with one side but I ordered a salad as well. We never got our salads when the food came out it was luke warm at best and the sweet potato was small and over cooked. We were asked if they could box our salads up hello if we wanted it to go we would have ordered to go. Then asked if we wanted anything else as far as sides well if we wanted anything other than what we ordered we would have ordered it. High hopes as we like coming here but maybe it's a bad idea to come when it's not busy. We won't be back for awhile. To be fair the bartender said I will comp the salads well hello we didn't get it so we certainly there was nothing to comp we never got them. In reality she comped us 2 ice teas. My wife's came with two sides so she only got one and it was burnt. A manager should have come over but we never heard from one. Maybe would should stick with Salt Grass. read more

SUPER slow service, and our servers uniform was very dirty and sloppy, it made eating here super unpleasant. As for the food I ordered a filet.. medium rare and instead of a warm red center it was pink, and SUPER seasoned that made my experience here regrettable. If there was a lower rating than one star this restaurant would get it. This is not about flaming a restaurant as I gave this location multiple chances to get things corrected. The restaurant proprietor was extremely nice but, seems unaware of significant quality control issues reoccurring in this restaurant. From the top of the list: * Food Quality - everything with few exceptions are overlooked and over-seasoned. I ordered the filet (med) and grilled lobster tail and both came out charred. When the plate was placed before me, the kitchen runner apologized for the burnt lobster and said another was being cooked right away. Why place burnt food in front of me to begin with? The filet that was ordered medium was so overcooked that I could not get my fork into the meat. I asked to speak with the proprietor as she was very concerned and friendly when my last curbside order came home burnt to a crisp with spoiled mashed potatoes. Instead, another manager came out claiming to be this proprietor and should little concern but did replace the meal with one cooked properly. * Customer Service - waiters here are hit and miss meaning they get some things right and are completely oblivious to others. This indicates a training problem to me. Trying to get your glass refilled is a monumental effort at best. One of the biggest mistakes I see is with many tables open in each section, the waiters wait until they can bring out bread, salad, and/or drinks before checking on other tables. This is acceptable if the restaurant is busy or there is a large party sitting in that section. Waiting over 30 minutes to get water, tea, or cocktails refilled is unacceptable. Other than the proprietor, there is a lack of customer concern in almost all areas of service including management on duty. The host personal are very friendly and prompt along with the bar. Everyone else is just going through the motions and not very concerned with service. This is a general statement and does not apply to all. We have had good service and a enjoyable experience in multiple times at this location but, something has significantly changed and quality across the board has dropped a great deal to unacceptable levels. Cleanliness - since I cannot see the kitchen, I can only judge by what is in the service area. Food on the floor, tables not bussed, restrooms that need attention, all speak to sanitation problems in my experience. Having received an order with spoiled mashed potatoes is another warning sign that there are significant sanitation issues in this establishment. I do find areas in this restaurant that are up to most people's standards such as the bar. Every cocktail ordered is well made and quite good. I have never had a cocktail not made correctly or mixed in the right proportions. I have encountered waiters that were on the ball and did a good job just far and few between. read more

Was here on vacation and had the most amazing meal! From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted and taken right to a table. Our server was amazing she not only recommended wonderful cocktails but we never had to wait on anything! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. We even had the manager Michelle stop by our table to check on us. I always think that such a nice touch when you're out for a special dinner that the manager comes by. Outback hosted our business networking group cocktail and did a phenomenal job. We must have tried over a dozen different menu items--all delicious and the meats prepared just right. Our server, Amber, was amazing. She stayed on top of us the whole evening and took good care of our huge group. My family came through Katy last week coming home from a cruise. We decided to stop at Outback and were so glad we did. This was by far the best Outback we have eaten at in a long time. I've always been an Outback fan. The food is still as good as I remembered, but the service was awful! Our waitress had an attitude and it took over an hour just to get our appetizer. Refills on drinks were only done by request as well. read more

My friend and I are fans of Outback but we both were very disappointed by this new Katy location. When we arrived in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon the restaurant was not busy at all but we had to wait about 10 minutes for the hostess to seat us and then had to wait another 15 minutes for a waitress to finally come and take our orders. At this location, all of our drinks were served as "tall" and all the drinks tasted awful: rum punch was way too sweet, margarita mix was overpowering, and the regular mint mojito was undrinkable. I sent back more than I drank. They removed them from the bill but still, a disappointment. The drinks at other locations are good and come in the proper glass. As for food, another disaster. The sirloin and coconut shrimp combo was so overdone that the steak shrank to a laughable size and the coconut shrimp was hard and dry. We have no plans to return to this one. We wish they'd left the Westgreen location open as it was always delicious and the service was great. read more

These steaks are not worth anything! Me and my grandmom went here for an early dinner and ordered cheese fries, tortilla soup ,and a 10 ounce ribeye. The cheese fries were just OK because they were greasy. The tortilla soup tasted horrible. Both of our ribeyes were Paperthin had no flavor and the texture was very tough. We usually enjoy the Outback Steakhouse. Last night we came to eat, and they were very busy. We waited and were seated in a reasonable length of time. I noticed our table had not been properly bussed, but I figured, 'ok, they're very busy'. Our waiter was very obsequious, too much so. He was also very slow. We only ordered water to drink; it took nearly 10 minutes to bring it and take our orders. My husband ordered a salad, which took an additional 15 to 20 minutes to arrive - and the bowl did not seem clean. After another 15 to 20 minutes our steaks arrived. They did not resemble the photo in the menu at all, and the garlic shrimp that topped them were dreadful. Don't go here if you'd like a nice, clean place with good food. read more

We used to request Outback previous to the relocation. The service at the time was beginning to get bad. It's been a long time so we decided to try it again. Man what a mistake!!! We were sat pretty quick and greeted quickly as well. After that it was bad!!! We order and waited 32 minutes. Two of the steaks came out over cooked and my kids were not willing to wait for a recook. We order loaded potatoes and the definition of loaded here is enough for one bite! Used to frequent the establishment with family, friends, for lunch/dinner. Management & service/food used to be excellent. Then had some bad experiences. Tried it again and even worse including the food clearly over-salted/overcooked. Underage staff (neighbors daughter) and friends drinking at table while working. We were having to go to bar for water. Waiter left us and other table never came back. We were then told about 20 min later he had left for night. We left with other table. Tried again, even called ahead. Place was pretty dead and the host just walked away from us and others waiting and never came back. People in front of us left and so did we. Have been told similar stories by other neighbors that live in area. Shame, Outback used to be a place we would go to with family and friends. read more

Celebrating my niece's birthday dinner with family members. The wait service started out a little slow but picked up soon thereafter. I personally thought the baked potato should have a little salt baked on to the skin because it was just a little bland but the steaks were good, the tortilla soup was good and the bloomin onion was great. Went her for a birthday lunch with my family for my little cousin's birthday on a Sunday afternoon. This was my first time ever going to Outback but I have heard good things about it. Our party was pretty big so I'll allow that to be the reason for the not so great service. The waitress did express she hadn't served a table so large before but she did have backup to help with our large and hungry family lol. So, four dollar cocktails of course I'll have one. I ordered the Aussie rum punch which was pretty delicious and the bartender was not shy with the alcohol. The drink is served in a cute mason jar, and after two I was feeling really nice ;).. and I'm no light weight! We ordered hot wings and blooming onions for appetizers. The wings we got in mild and were very good, only problem we didn't order enough because everyone was grabbing them up. Knowing that Outback is famous for there blooming onion I was excited to try one however, it was a bit overcooked for me. It wasn't golden brown but more dark brown, like the grease wasn't so fresh. For my meal I had the porterhouse pork chop with loaded mashed potatoes and a salad. I throughly enjoyed my meal and look forward to finishing my pork chop for lunch tomorrow. This place is poorly ran. Hostesses will welcome you through the door and put your name a list and not tell you how long the wait is. You'll ask, get a fabled quote 15-20 mins. If you call ahead you get to surpass everyone on the list and if you have a large party you can jump the line as well. Leaving you, the hungry 2 top forgotten. I waited over a half hour to finally ask where I was on the line and 10 more people ahead of me. The hostess explained that because I didn't call ahead or have a large party I had to deal with it. Now, when there is soo much steak competition it's amazing how they treat their guests. No wonder more than half of the outbacks across the nation have closed down. Texas Roadhouse is more fair. People go out to eat for the food yes, but it's the service they really pay for. I'll never return here. Why when saltgrass is right down the street. Trash. I've gone to this Outback for some years, but the service has sadly declined! I used the to-go service on 9/22/2017, I called in the order 30 minutes before I actually arrived. I waited patiently in my car for 15 minutes before calling for someone to come to the car. FINALLY! The lady came to my car and took my payment, but she was too slow! All these people were waiting, she went to one car twice with the wrong order. Once I got my meal and checked my order I had to walk in and get my drinks myself!
