This was my second time ever going to an Outback! I've seen the commercials and wanted to give it a try. Granted, I did not get a steak. But I thought the food was good! We started with a Blooming Onion (of course) and that was yummy. I got the grilled chicken, Cesar salad, and regular mashed potatoes. My friend got the blooming burger with fries. Both were good! The chicken had a ton of seasoning and was yummy. I like my salad (maybe could have used a hint of lemon) and the potatoes were good. He seemed to look his burger. Our server was super attentive! It's our 42nd wedding anniversary today. I don't go to steak houses often but wanted to have a nice dinner with my wife. The young lady at the front was friendly enough. They didn't look too busy on a Tuesday night. We sat for about 15 minutes before a waitress finally came over. We were ready to order our food and our drinks by then. They brought me my salad and we didn't get our drinks until well after I had finished it. I tried to chalk up the bad service to them having a bad night. But the whole time we were there no one ever came over to our table and asked us if everything was okay. My wife's garlic bread was an overcooked crouton. Also, don't play the trivia games on the device on the table. I tried and it told me it was unable to connect, but it connected fine enough to charge me ninety nine cents. After leaving another place because of the rude customer service, we ended up here and immediately were greeted with a warm welcome and great service. We ended up ordering too much but because of the great atmosphere we just had an appetite and wanted to enjoy after the recent experience. Overall, you know what to expect. Late review but my husband and I ate there over the weekend. We were scared to try this location because of some of the reviews, but we over all enjoyed our dining experience. We sat sat our selves in the bar area, it took a while for anyone to bring us menus and then utensils. Our Server Tori was just the sweetest and did a wonderful job. Our food was awesome. The steak is a little spicy my husband had his steak cooked on the open fire and it wasn't as spicy as mine. The special they have going on right now is a heck of a deal. Over the past several month's we have had an opportunity to visit this location at least 10 times...it is very conveniently situated just off I-5 and a breeze to get to within Keizer Station shopping area. Very consistent...food and service...everything is freshly prepared to order and they are more than happy to alter any preparation to meet your individual taste...just ask! The lunch specials are an excellent choice if you are on a budget and want a quick, but delicious meal...the Outback Burger is a treat! A crisp/icy cold salad with a superior variety of ingredients...tasty dressings made in house...followed by an inch thick all-beef patty cooked to your exact specification...want it medium-rare? Crispy on the outside and mouth-watering on the inside? Not a problem!! And it is served on a buttered/toasted brioche-style bun...plus lashings of crispy and outstanding fries! My daughter wanted macaroni and cheese from the kids menu which is supposed to come with a side, but apparently that choice is 3.99 extra for French fries. I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken which is supposed to come with steamed vegetables, but DIDN'T. I also ordered a side salad, the ranch tasted awful. My husband ordered the chicken on the barbie, which is also supposed to come with steamed vegetables but DIDN'T, he also hated the ranch for the side salad. My Family and I decided to go to In and Out but, the line was way to long. We decided to eat at Outback Steakhouse and, it would be a 30 minute wait and we had two hours to eat 9-11. We decided to go to a few store we came back and the owner told "US" that they were closing early and, we only had one hour. We said you don't close until 11 he said it was a state law in Oregon now we had just eaten at The Cheesesteak Factory. I told my husband it was late and, if they could get our food out to us we could eat within that hour. We were told that their was no room in the restaurant but, (it was tons of seating) we were sat outside w/warmers. When our waiter came we decided to ask him and, he was very clueless on this "new restaurant law". We ordered our food it came out hot but, things just didn't sit well with me. As I'm trying to enjoy my meal 6 more people entered the restaurant. Once the owner knew we took notice of this he came outside putting on that good old charm. My Family was racially profiled and, I wouldn't recommend anyone eating there because this could happen to you. This outback isn't the normal outback restaurant, there are only three like this one in the country. The design created by women, you couldn't really tell those. This outback is only a few weeks open. The food is great and the service is fast and cheerful. They have changed the dark look to more open and lighter. Now they offer outside setting. The waiting are is large so you aren't nut to butt with others. They also offer water to waiting guests. They have little computer tables that allow you to place your order or play games. You can allow pay your bill on the computer too. To play the games its .99 cents but is well worth it. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom was small. I'm going to give it another mouth to see how they will be getting away from the Grand opening and settling into normal operations. read more

It's been quite a while since we ate at an Outback Steakhouse and, sorry to say it will probably be quite a while before we do again. We started out with their famous "Bloomin Onion and it was almost too salty to eat. As it cooled, it was worse. The steak and lobster special was tolerable only because of the price. The steak was tough and flavorless. I had to add salt and pepper which I never do at home. The lobster was the only saving grace of the meal. Now I can state very confidently that we had great service and great food! If you go anywhere when it is busy, you have a fairly good chance of not getting the fastest service around. I generally don't go somewhere when it is super rushed knowing that I won't have the best experience. Go when you have time to enjoy your meal and ask for what you want. It is amazing how good the food is when you slow down and enjoy it. And the people are great when they also have time to enjoy you coming in. Set your expectations correctly!!!! Headed to Outback last night for a reasonably priced steak and had a good time. We ordered a few drinks, which came quickly and tasted very yummy. Our waiter was nice, but nothing extraordinary. The food came out at slightly weird times (bread and appetizer came out with the main meal) but was really yummy. We both ordered sirloins, caesar salads, and baked potatoes with a blooming onion (at my boyfriend's request) to start. We were completely stuffed by the end. Prices are a little steep for the quality (might as well go to a nicer quality steakhouse) but overall a good experience with nice staff and tasty food. read more

While reading this, please keep in mind that the restaurant was at probably 20% capacity. Really bad experience to be honest and it takes SO MUCH for me to be unwilling to give benefit of the doubt. Our drinks and appetizer was ordered immediately but it took 30 minutes to get even just our drinks or the complimentary bread they serve. Our toddler was also pretty upset about having to wait 30 minutes for his juice. Finally got our drinks and both of our beers were just as flat as a glass of water. I asked for an orange slice with my blue moon which never showed. I eventually asked for a new beer because, let's be real, no one wants to drink a flat AND warm beer. 50 minutes after ordering we FINALLY got our appetizer (a cold blooming onion) and decided we didn't even want to wait around to see what it would be like to order entrees so we just stuck with the appetizer. We requested extra plates and dressing 2 times that we didn't get until 30 minutes later, when the appetizer was gone. I am ALWAYS willing to give the benefit of the doubt and I ALWAYS assume that maybe it's a new employee doing their best but this experience was truly awful. There was way more wrong with it that I care to type out or that a person cares to read but even with the excuse of COVID, I would never return and I would never recommend. I haven't been to an Outback in about 15 years, but I was forced to go today because I had a damn gift card from Christmas. I have not been missing much. There was no one to greet us at the door and when we asked someone cleaning if we should just seat ourselves, they said no and that was it, just a "no" and back to cleaning. Then a scraggly dirty looking stoner girl came along and slowly and silently escorted us to a table a few minutes later. I know we're at "near full employment" here in this lovely city so maybe it's unfair to complain that Outback is unable to lure the best and brightest. I'm not a steak fan so no big deal to me, but why is it called "Outback Steak House" when there were a total of 3 steaks under the "Steak" section of the menu? And one of those was a chopped steak. Jeez, isn't that another word for hamburger... It's like saying "McDonald's Salad house". I ordered some chicken and my companion took a chance on one of the two steak options that wasn't chopped. That steak got sent back for being so raw it was shiny, dripping bright red blood. Then returned a few minutes later, cooked correctly but reported to me as being "chewy". Hmm. Wait service was attentive and friendly. My chicken was serviceable in the way it would be at Denny's or Shari's or Applebees etc. There is barely in any difference in these places at all. I insisted we order dessert as I didn't want any money left on the gift card that would mean a return visit. Dessert was ho-hum decent. Brownie with ice cream. A slice of carrot cake. I guess It was mostly ok all in all, but I can't think of a reason I'd ever choose to go there specifically, unless I get another damn gift card. read more

Second time we have been here. I wanted to give it another chance. I won't be going back. It was disappointing. Our server was hardly around. It took us a long time to finally be able to pay our bill and leave. The machine on the table was broken. After we were seated it took awhile for a server to come and take our order. I would have understood if it were busy but it was not busy. The most disappointing item we ordered was the Gingerbread Martini. I was super excited about it as the picture just made it look fun and whimsical. the waitress put the drink on our table and immediately the gingerbread man slid into the drink. I feel like in the past few months a lot of restaurants have gone down in quality. Outback is definitely on this list, I started off by ordering the Ahi Tuna appetizer. The tuna was pretty decent and I did like the wasabi soy sauce but it was a little on the salty side which can be expected using soy. I then decided to go with their burger, first it came out well done when I asked for medium-rare, the taste was ok but a bit plain. I had to wait a while before someone came back for me to ask for condiments and was never asked if I needed them when my food arrived. Both dishes arrived together instead of the appetizer first so while I'm eating the appetizer my burger and fries are getting cold. I also never was asked or given the bread they normally give with the meal as well in the beginning. There was only a couple other tables and the servers were off in a corner chatting the majority of the time and laughing. Overall the experience was not bad but was nowhere near what I used to get with the outback. I have eaten at various outbacks since the early 2000's but my visits are coming farther and farther between. The only reason I ventured out to Outback this time was that I was given a gift card for my birthday. As of right now, I do not plan any trips back in the foreseeable future. Had dinner Sunday night, my Husband had there fried chicken wings and clam chowder . Chicken wings were so SALTY they couldn't be eaten. My husband loves salt, he shakes it on the back of his palm and lick it off. but he couldn't eat this. Sent them back took thirty minutes to do another batch . These came out just as salty. They took them off the check, all he had was clam chowder. Ruined the shared dinner we planned. He doesn't eat red meat so I couldn't share mine. Then talked with her manager about something, forgot we were there and said "oh yeah you guys". That was strange. It doesn't stop there. Waiting room was full. I was assuming that we were going to have a long wait. It only took about 10 minutes to seat us (another good thing). Our waiter seemed like a nice enough guy. Restaurant was pretty dirty though. Lots of un wiped down tables and lots of food scrap on the floor. I ordered a pasta with shrimp and steak. It was decent enough. Nothing I'm super excited about but I wont complain about it either. My wife ordered a chicken Cobb salad. They did not put bacon or egg on there so she asked the waiter for it. We were fine with it coming as a side item. Problem is he brought back bacon and cheese. I had the filet well done - and they did it right. I know most places consider that sacrilege. It was still so very tender and the shrimp topping I added was yummy also. Other guests in our party had other steaks and all were exactly as ordered. We also had the cheesy broccoli and baked potatoes. Everything was great. For the finishing touch, we had the gluten free dessert, the pecan brownie. HUGE and covered in ice cream, chocolate syrup and shavings. I can't even give one star, but had to so I could even post. We just finished our dinner and left very very unhappy! We sat in the bar at an empty table, that we were told was open by the hostess. We waited over 25 minutes until I waved a waiter down. He informed me that he was not our waiter and didn't know who was or where the waiter was. I explained to him that a couple that came after us had already put in their order. He took our drink and food order only due to knowing I was unhappy. He asked if we'd like bread...silly of course we did. An additional 15 minutes went by without bread or our drinks. After waiting over 40 minutes our over cooked dry steaks were presented to us. And to make the whole experience worse the couple that was directly in front of us was experiencing an equal awful experience. The lady had found dry food on her fork that was wrapped up in a napkin and when her food came she noticed that there was mold in the bottom of the sour cream when she dumped it onto her potato. Making this whole experience more disgusting and more traumatic. We will not be returning at any time to any Outback Steakhouse is. Do you self a safe favor save your money you might as well go across the street to in n out and you have much better quality of food. Went here with my fiancé for dinner recently. We were seated right away and our server was nice and moved quickly. However, the food was really bad considering the price. My poor fiancé's salad was soggy as if the salad had been prepared and left in the fridge for a day or two. I ordered a ribeye steak and requested it to be cooked medium well as I always do. Not even sure how it was managed but my steak came out half medium well and half medium rare. In addition, it was almost cold in temperature and way too salty. Yuck! My fiancé ordered a filet mignon and also complained that it wasn't hot enough and that it was under seasoned. We also ordered a blooming onion that came out over cooked. After 25 minutes and 2 servers saying "someone will be over to get your drinks started", we finally got up and had the hostess get drinks and the manager. Not their finest hour, manager only said, I'm sorry, can I get your drinks started for you? NO, your hostess already did that! Sad, they take no responsibility anymore. Overall, pay $55 for 3 people to dine on ok food served slowly? Or just get 3 Double Doubles with animal style fries and a chocolate shakes in faster time, no tip required (expected) and STILL have money left over to go shopping at Target? So you say, hey MJF... Why 3 stars then? Simply put, I don't review like most shleps who put, "I would put zero stars if I could for making me wait 30 minutes!" Zero intelligence type review and completely unfair. We went to outback this evening knowing it could get very busy on a Saturday in December,which of course it was. I would have to say the food is OK at best. The blooming onion is nothing like I remember from years ago. Very dry and mostly breading. However, what made the evening for my husband and grandson and I was our waiter Matt. He was so friendly and accommodating, especially considering how busy they were and possibly understaffed. I am at a loss for words. The old bait and switch!! We went in for "Walkabout Wednesday" $9.99 Steak or Chicken with fries and a drink (Coke product or beer). No beer was available in OR. Steak was $2.00 higher in price. My husband got a steak, fries and Root Beer. I opted off of the Happy Hour Menu, since I could not get a beer with my meal. Chicken Strips and fries. The seasoning on everything was so salty we could not eat it. And fries were cold. All of them. My hub's steak was ordered Medium and came out Rare, with a LOT of salty seasoning. We just got out of there as fast as possible. A manager did come explain why the beer was not included. OK. But shouldn't this be a caveat before ordering? Never again!!
