The girl serving us barely interacted with us and when she came up to us to ask if we were ready to order (we were mid chew on appetizers) she didn't want to wait long enough to give us a chance to order. My boyfriend and I are a younger couple which is where my next point goes. When we were going to pay, she didn't give us an option on whether to tip or not and put herself in a 20$ tip. Texted a friend in the food industry and she said sometimes waiters may slip a smaller tip in if they think people aren't going to tip at all; sounds illegal, but whatever. Told her the entire experience and completely agree this was outrageous. If my boyfriend hadn't told me when we were in the parking lot, then there would have been words said and managers called. Visiting from out of town. Been he here once before and had great service but didn't like the ahi that I ordered. Didn't taste fresh at all. They did fix my order. Second visit. Awesome service. This time saw they had crab. Didn't see an option for a meal. The bartender Britney informed me they do have, it's just not on menu. It's $19.99 and comes with two sides. Crab was fresh. Enjoyed my meal. The rice I ordered was ok. Tasted like rice a roni. Lol. I asked my asparagus to be crunchy and it was cooked perfect. I also added dessert last minute. Britney had no problem adding on. She was very patient, helpful and seemed she new a lot of people at the bar. She's the main reason I'm giving them a 5star. I also said it was lil chilly. It's an outback steakhouse! I could end my review right there because if you've ever been to one before, you've been to them all. Not to say that's a bad thing at all, you're just not going to get something special here whether you're in Louisiana or Wyoming. My favorites are always the Victoria Filet with a blue cheese crown, with a side of mashed potatoes. Their blue cheese and walnut salad is probably my FAVORITE salad ever created. Ever. It's one of the main reasons I go there all the time. I can definitely tell you I was surprised at their ability to do scallops better than I've had that in some "fancier" restaurants, and if you're in the mood for some good food that won't break the bank, this is a good place to go. I went to this location of outback this evening for a to go order. There was no seating at the bar due to covid. According to them. However I could order a drink and sit in the packed waiting area with people waiting 30 to 45 mins for a table. Please tell me the difference between me being that close to others in the waiting area or in the bar with two bars tenders and not a full restaurant. I could not even sit at open areas in the bar at a booth I am highly disappointed and may not return. I went to their competition and sat at the bar with a drink and got a great to go meal at saltgrass. Everything you have heard is true... The coconut shrimp are really to die for, out of this world, everywhere in the country and perfect every time! Jumbo jumbo shrimp in freshly fried coconut batter and marmalade. I dream of these shrimp floating through my dreams. Everything else is okay and as expected but back to these shrimp. I have cooked the dish 50 times but still not perfected this level of awesomeness. Yes we are in the gulf and I suspect they may even be frozen but I don't care and I never will. Outback has perfected coconut shrimp and marmalade and my hats off to who ever created this marvelous dish. Went yesterday for a late lunch. The onion blossom was burnt, sent it back. They gave us another one, wasn't any better. They must be using old grease, sure smelled it! We both ordered 6oz Sirloin steak and Shrimp. He had a salad on the side, I had the potatoes. Everything and I mean everything was more or less cold, wasn't hot AT all!! It must have been sitting in the kitchen for some time before bringing it out. It certainly wasn't made to order. Why! my friend, his was suppose to be medium, instead it was well done. I've had three bad experiences at Outback; two have been at this location. Tonight I took my mom out for dinner. Nothing special, just cheese fries and steak. Our waiter looked like he was fifteen, but if I get good service I don't care. I'm usually very courteous to wait staff, having been one. We put our order in and that's when things went pear-shaped. We get our drinks, and never get refills. The salad comes out before the appetizer; mom gets a huge chunk of blue cheese in the middle of hers. We ask the waiter about our cheese fries; blames the kitchen. When they show up, he forgets the ranch dressing so I ask him (and he gives me a look). Okay... We're barely into our fries when our steaks show up. BAD IDEA. You've gotten things out of order now you're rushing us? Okay, the steaks better be perfect. Of course they're not! Overcooked. My baked potato had lumps in it? Mom's sweet potato was so sweet it was like candy. We both slog through out meal, because we're hungry and I am slowly getting madder. The waiter? He's avoiding us-actively. I want to ask him what's wrong, give him a chance to save the meal but nooooooo... I pay the bill, shorting the tip because I won't stiff a waiter no matter how bad. I leave totally dissatisfied. I sent an email to Outback and fully expect a BS reply. I don't want my money back-I want a good meal. Fix the wait staff (everyone looked lost), fix the kitchen, whatever. I don't expect fine dining-just good quality for the money. Oh, and they didn't bring us any bread, either. read more

I have been to many Outback Steakhouse's and funny enough, this is the first time in my hometown of Lafayette. This location was a victim of flooding last August(so I was told) and was remodeled. The new decor is nice and has a warm, comfortable vibe about it. I went with a party of 10 on a Saturday evening and the place was packed with 25+ people waiting to be seated. I figured it would be a 90 min wait and was suggesting to friends to go elsewhere but some of them wanted to stay so we waited. To my surprise, it was only about a 25 min wait and we had a table where we all sat together. (They initially said it may be tables "close" but not together. Kudos for the short wait and the table. 5 stars for the front crew. The server was an energetic young man and he was super nice and pleasant. No issues with the server at all for he kept everyone's drinks filled and nobody waited for anything (sauces, etc) for the entire meal. Server gets 5 stars. The food was pretty typical of what I expect from Outback which is a fairly decent flavored steak at a fair price. There are better streaks but this place is good for middle range price. My steak was good. The mac n cheese was Luke warm even though it was in a skillet. Some others said the potatoes were a bit hard but I can't comment first hand. Overall the food was decent so I'm thinking 4 stars. The appetizers were Ok too but not great. Overall the experience was pleasant and I'm teetering between 4 and 5 stars. I try and reserve 5 stars for flawless experiences, top to bottom, so I'm giving 4 stars. Maybe the next visit will put me into the 5 star range. Enjoy! read more

When I mentioned this they said they have a new floor guy and they think he used the wrong wax!..........really? I call BS. Tonight I had the worst steak ever. At first glance it was burned on one side, but I decided to give it a chance. I ate a bite, and thought it was terribly tough and far below my expectations. I gave my date a bite as well and he concurred that the steak was incredibly hard and quite overcooked. I would have sent the steak back, but the waiter kept himself busy with his other two tables for the duration of our meal. It wasn't until I called out to him at the end of the meal that I had the opportunity to say anything about my steak. After expressing my discontent, the manager, Alex, was summoned. It's so dark in there I had a real hard time reading the menu...lighten up please management, it's only 6:30--- Waiter neglected to mention new menu items And all my food came out at the same time. Went to Outback in Lafayette, La. on June 16,2019, for father's day. Had a party of 6 adults and 2 kids. The Blooming onion as a little over cooked. Some the cease salads had too much dressing, but mine was OK. I got the wedge salad which was top notched. Adults order steaks. On person's steak was overcooked. Sent back and cooked another Took the cost of the steak off his bill. Good. Another steak was undercooked and that person did not eat his steak. My steak was cooked just right. Good. My group spent two hours there and I am not sure why. This a long time with two grandkids. Our waiter was awesome. He tried to make everything right. Good.
