What happened to Outback? Wish I could say it was just this one (it was just this one tonight)... ordered the big sized 12 oz Ribeye for $26, got a thin about 8 ounce ribeye like you might get at Sizzler, Ponderosa, or Bonanza. I left at least 2 ounces out of the 8 on the plate in the form of large fat clumps and unchewable gristle. But, I give the cook credit, he made that dollar store level steak taste pretty decent! worst service ive had in lubbock tx. its veterans day ( i,m a veteran) went in there for there veteran day special. i sat at the bar. 1st think that went wrong a couple that sat down after i did was and was ask what would like to drink before me. no big deal. i order the the 6oz sirloin dinner with 2 sides bake potato and soup. finally got my glass of wine after 27 minutes 12 minutes later my steak and potato comes . never got the bread & butter that everyone else got. never got the soup i order. did not get the veterans discount that they advertise which was 10% off then i asked can you take $5.00 off the because i did not get my cup of soup they took the tag back and redid it and gave me $4.00 off. on there menu a cup of soup sells for $5.49 should of went to mcdonald will not go back read more

Consistently beckoned back in by coaxing coconut shrimp which I can only liken to a large sumptuous shrimp encased in the most sinful, hot, decadent donut you have ever sank your opulent whites into!!! Crazily obsessed with the most decadent mac & cheese I can find; I must say the "steakhouse mac & cheese" stands in a class of it's own.... It is perfectly al dente with a masterfully creamy cheese sauce topped in perfectly browned bread crumbs which simply celestial!!! Wine pours are ample & service has always exceeded my expectations!!!! The only hesitation I find in proceeding with a fifth star is more due to a personal preference with the salad & the use of mundane iceberg lettuce when utilizing accompaniments such as honey glazed pecans & perfectly seared steak! Our dinner Was excellent as was the service. My husband and I split a ribeye steak dinner with grilled shrimp and had a bloomin' onion. The steak was juicy and delicious as was the shrimp. OMG This place is amazing. The service is outstanding. My waiter was very personable he recommended the Chicken. The appitizer was some sort of gourmet tuna.....it was so look good. The sauce was delicious too. I dont remember exactly which chicken it was that I ordered for the main course but the seasoning and the way they cooked it was absolutely breath taking. I want to thank Cesar, the floor crew, and the the rest of the management team for giving me an unforgetable experience. Maybe because it was Labor Day... But it was HORRIBLE. The bartender was great, but the food was dreadful. Ranch salad was good. The steak tasted frozen, maybe just really old? Completely Under cooked. The potatoes reminded me of a middle school cafeteria, they even had the crust/been out too long film on them. I only ate a few bites, and they asked if everything was ok. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. Filet mignon & a 10oz Ribeye for a valentines lunch. Server was attentive. My ribeye was cooked medium as requested but the taste was just ok. My wife ordered the filet medium well and the waiter suggested it be cooked butterfly. Her steak was well done..no juices left. It too was not tasty and obviously lacked the juices. Quick service for terrible food. We ordered spinach dip, baked potatoes, drinks (non-alcoholic) and desserts. The spinach dip was cold and salty, the chips were fried in old grease, the baked potatoes were nasty. The drink container lids do not fit in their cups, so soda poured all over me and my car, the desserts (usually can't go wrong) - were mediocre at best but neither myself nor my daughter ate even 1/2 of the cheesecake or carrot cake. Love this place! I always come whenever Joshua is working! He's an awesome part of their staff!!! I especially like that he recommends different items on the menu! My favorite was the sirloin steak. I've been here a few times when he's not working but have not received the same type of service. This place has some of the best steaks in the area. They ALWAYS cook it to perfection. Everywhere else I go-- i have learned to order it rare and then I get medium rare. At outback-- it comes out medium rare every time. I get the larger center cut victoria filet with a horseradish crumb topping, a wedge salad, and a baked potato every time. It is the meal to desire. I feel like this beats lisa west's double nickel in price and quality. HOWEVER, one time-- the server kept my change -- thus stealing from me. Want mediocre service and an under cooked steak? This is the place. I came for my birthday dinner because Cheddars and Texas Roadhouse were full.... there was a reason Outback was empty. This place was horrible. From the attitude the server gave off, to the dessert that tasted like dog, this was surely a unique experience. Lastly, I would like to congratulate the cook. The Thursday night chef needs to retire. This dude must have been blind when cooking this steak because I swear to god my 11 year old daughter could make a better steak in an easy bake oven. I don't even want to mention the cut of steak I got. I could get a more flavorful cut from the meat on the tip of my dick. Nasty man. I've been here a couple times now, and it's been very good both times. Tonight, the service by the 3 bartenders was exceptional! They were so personal to all us bar patrons. They made little name cards that faced us w/ their names, and then on the back side they wrote the customer's names. And... they kept greeting me by name, asking if I needed anything extra, etc, etc -- it was actually pretty awesome! My steak -- I just had the basic 6oz special sirloin for $9.99 + I added the horseradish crush topping for only .99c. mmmmmmm. It was SO good! Loaded sweet potato and the blue cheese pecan salad. Even the beer seemed like a good deal at $3.25. Great experience tonight! The only problem - - I TOTALLY forgot it was a Lenten Friday and I ate meat. Doh!!! read more

We travel every week and I always get a filet. A filet never has grizzle unless you are at Outback. A Filet is also small and thick unless you are at Outback. The last 2 times I have been at Outback, I have ordered the filet. I don't know what they served me, but it was not a filet. It had three sections that had grizzle. It was thin and had grizzle though out the steak. I haven't finished the steak either time. My son said it must have been a "Walmart" filet. I'm never going back to Outback. It's the only restaurant that serves a cheap filet like this. They used to have one of the best filets. But something has changed. read more

Currently here waiting a long time for everything. But the hostess' were too busy gossiping that it took us about 15 minutes to get silverware. Had to ask a bartender for some. When I go eat somewhere I don't expect to have to keep getting up to ask for things like water and our waitress who is nowhere to be found in the restaurant. My kid loves the kids Grilled Cheese sandwich (so do I), and the Firecracker Salmon is served with a very flavorful topping and glaze. Of course, their fillets are very good too. We have been to Outback before, but we were disappointed this time. The sweet potato was very small and burnt on the bottom. Also, a problem common to most restaurants when diners are splitting an entree, the second (empty) plate doesn't come with the meal, so the dinner has to wait for it. I just spent over an hour waiting on my meal. My blooming onion took forever to come out and it was warm at best. Had to ask for bread and after an hour I hadn't even received my salad. After over an hour I cancelled my order. The last time I went there was about 2 years ago and the service was almost as bad. I should caution the bartenders about over serving patrons who loudly admit they are "shit faced" and bring them more drinks. This is my #2 place for steak! SO. GOOD. The kids meal was awesome for my kids and the adult meals were awesome too.

On our Steakhouse list. It's not the top of the list but certain one I enjoy. Their Sirloin is always well cooked. Their seafood is not really always great. Salmon is ok, Lobster is nothing special. Over cooked and mostly bland. If you are going to advertise a steak and Lobster special it would probably be good to ensure the lobster is worth eating. read more

We love steak...duh. My parent's(who live in The Woodlands, TX) asked me what to send my hubs for his birthday, 5/2. I told them how our Outback's owner/manager(not sure which one he is) was going out of his way to provide Lubbock first responders and anyone in need with their food. So I told my mom a gift card there would be great. We received their package a few days ago and used the gift card tonight. EVERYTHING was beyond delicious and we will be supporting them going forward. They might not be considered local BUT the owner and everyone else in their building serving are locals. Don't go to Outback during the day on the weekends. They have tons of tables open but they don't have the servers to wait on the customers. They can only handle about 5 tables and the wait times are at least an hour even with all the open tables. They need more help.
