Had the cheese fries and bloomin' onion for apps. Left me satisfied. Tried the $15 for four course deal. That came with soup, salad, entree, and dessert. I choose the potato soup (too salty), Cesar salad (good), the wood fire grilled shrimp(decent), and cheesecake(good). By the time I reached my entree, I was already so full(fries, onions, soup, salad, and lots and lots of bread). It's a pretty good deal. Was staying at a hotel on 289 loop in Lubbock. Saw an Outback and was so excited! I love Outback. That was my first mistake! How can you mess up a Cesear salad! It was almost inedible. I go regularly to Outback in Ft. Worth and love it! Always consistently good! Then, I ordered steak, baked potato, and asparagus? The steak was suppose to have been medium rare...it was not pink at all and TOUGH, the asparagus was AWFUL....the baked potato was so dry and even hard. My $26 Bone-In Ribeye was very good, but not great...4 Stars. It was supposedly cooked over oak, but I could not taste nor smell the wood...minus 1 Star. The Caesar side salad isn't anything like it used to be here...minus 1 Star. My Fosters beer cost $6 per glass and iced tea was $3, REALLY?...minus 1 Star. This restaurant, which was formerly my favorite franchise steakhouse, is riding their popularity all the way to the bank and is no longer a reasonable value...not going back. read more

Ordered the sirloin and shrimp. It was okay - the steak was actually very good. I had never had it (medium rare) guess it's my new fave. The shrimp was not hot, not even warm, it was just "ehh" but it had a decent flavor. My coworker ordered some medallions and those were tough to chew - yes we shared. This might be the worst outback I've ever been to. The last two times I've almost left after waiting nearly an hour for food. The quality is getting worse and they seemed overwhelmed even when not busy. Service was indifferent--we weren't even offered any apology or compensation for the items that they were out of, just told we would have to take a different dessert. The food is always so good, especially the salad. I could make a meal on their salads but I like steak too much. I get the same thing every time, Victoria's filet. Always cooked perfect. Customer service was great even with the restaurant packed on a Saturday evening. Cody was our bartender and was attentive and polite. Halfway through our meal, he either finished his shift or went on lunch & the other bartender was taking care of us. She was pretty slow and rarely checked on us, but she was still very nice. It's New Years night, flew in to conduct an audit, SO is having a birthday and is demanding lobster. Two lobster tails, $23, a bargain, the steak salad was good and priced right. Place was crowded and the seats in the bar were not great but we were served promptly and the staff was attentive. Seafood place it is not, not close enough to Maine. Went for the steak and endless shrimp deal on 8/9/15. Also ordered was a grilled chick cob salad. Server was prompt for order and bread. There were about 8 other people in the restaurant around noon, but it took 30 minutes to receive food. In the meantime the owner introduced himself. Nice guy. Had we known the food was going to take so long, we may have mentioned it. The server apologized for the wait once we received food. The steak was appropriately cooked, but had no flavor. Worse than 50 yard line and significantly worse the Texas Road House (where again all of the cars were). The salad greens were OK, but not nearly as good as say Red Robin or TRH. The first order of fried shrimp were light and perfectly cooked, although little flavor. The second order was over cooked. The cobb salad was acceptable, but nothing special. This was the first visit to this locale. The place was clean. But, I won't be back. BTW, they are supposed to be serving lunch soon. The kitchen is going to have to do a lot better job or folks are going to be late getting back to work. read more

I had $50 in gift cards to use, so I took my daughter and a friend - All 3 steaks were entirely over seasoned, i asked for no chives on my potato and they were on there, my broccoli/cheese was missing until I asked for it, and the grilled shrimp was less than desireable.The bill was $72.35 and I thought I was being generous tipping within cents of 20% at $14.00, only to balance my account and find out that they apparently thought they needed a little more and took $16.00. Mother's day was the worse experience in my life. Food was served but not all our orders came out. Charged for 4 drinks only had 3. By the time I got all I had ordered food was cold. That day all mother's were given flowers my wife didn't get any. Felt very upset about situation. Corporate or local mangers don't care about good customer service. I've ordered a few "medium-rare" steaks that come out very well-done, blackened, beef-jerky-ized... but send it back and they'll whip you up one pronto. Our waitress Rachel C was excellent, the Manager Joe Garcia needs some serious customer service training. As I watched the manager walk around during our meal I honestly thought he was the bus boy. We ordered steaks (filets) all medium-rare, and one came out clearly on the rare side. Our waitress Rachel noticed just as we did and said it wouldn't be a. problem to throw it back on the grill for a couple of minutes to get it to the requested medium-rare temp. After about 15 minutes she noticed that we had all finished eating our meal and the steak had still not come back to our table & noticed our frustration, she apologized and said "I can't understand why it's taking so long, I'll go check on it and also send the manager over". A few minutes later the manager, which I still thought was the bus-boy, brought the steak over to our table and instead of setting it down, just handed it to me and asked if it was to our request. I cut into it and said "yes it was" at which point he just walked away. When Rachel came back I asked her about the manager, since she had said she would send him over and she pointed to the guy that had just dropped off the steak. I was floored that he was the manager and had such little disregard for the customers experience in his restaurant. I will never return to this Outback and will let anyone I know that lives or visits Lubbock to stay away from a place that has this type of leadership. read more
