WORSE OUTBACK EVER!! We will NEVER go back to this location. They need better management to get their cooks and waitress up to standards. It started with waiting 5 mins for a drink order. We ordered a blooming onion that when it FINALLY came out it was cold and old. We asked for a new one, it came out burnt and left a bad taste after eating it. We ordered 2 salads with no onion. 1 came out with onion on it. The waitress took it to the back and came out 15 secs later with no onion on it (that was the fastest service of the day). Both salads still had onion through out the lettuce though. We let her know and she simply said "oh, sorry" we were a party of 6 and the restaurant was NOT Busy at all. 3 ordered filet mignon and 2 were overcooked. I ordered a Togo plate and we asked for our checks. The waitress says I'll take that blooming onion off your check. When we get the Check it was still on there and she denied that she just told the entire table that she would take it off. I asked for our to go order and she said "oh yeah let me check" 7 minutes later I was still waiting. I asked to speak to a manager. Another 5 mins passed no manager. My food finally came out so I just left. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSE WHERE OR DRIVE TO FAYETTEVILLE FOR A DECENT MEAL. My father and I were traveling from NY to Fl. We decided to stop at Outback in Lumberton NC. Walking through the door we were quickly greater and seated. We got the pleasure of having Millie as our waitress. She was FANTASTIC! Immediately she came over to the table greeted us and took our drink order. She was extremely pleasant and paid great and close attention to detail. I ordered a diet coke with lemon first later with my meal I asked for a water where her initial response was with or with out lemon. I was impressed by that. Also when speaking with us she knelt down to where she was eye level. It was nice not to be talked down to and showed her interest. Through out the meal she checked in with us periodically asking if we needed anything and even went a step further. At the end of the meal she asked if we wanted dessert explained some options to us and gave us a few mins to decide and digest. She sold us and we ended up having the chocolate thunder. Again checking in on us making sure her recommendation was up to par. I can only hope that Millie is part of the outback training team bc she is a great example of what a great server is! In addition to Millie during our visit my father and I also observed a server by the name of Erin I believe. She was not our server but the table next to us so everything seen and heard was us just ease dropping and beingn nosey. Plan and simple Erin has the patience of a saint! We observed an obnoxiously picky couple. It seemed as if Erin could do nothing right and it wasn't her fault. We over heard the guest argue with her about some type of steak sauce she continuously kept her cool remained calm and answer every one of the guests demands. It seemed like every time she got called to the table they held her for longer amounts of time and her the complaints just got worst and worst. I genuinely felt bad for her bc it was unneccary. I hope they left her a good tip bc she deserved it. However a realist fear is that her hard work was not recognized by the guest. I wish this was our local Outback bc I would confidentially say we will be back. But unfortunately we were just traveling through so we have no return date in our near future. First off, The food is what I would rate as good(C+) to very good (B+). I got the Queensland Chicken and Shrimp entree and my friend got the perfectly grilled salmon. The waiting time was average and we had a incredibly nice waiter. If you are coming at lunchtime I recommend that you don't get any quesadillas or nachos with steak meat if you don't like lots of fat and gristle. My nachos(first time ever came here) had strips of fat on the side. However the pasta entree(shown on top) was TO DIE FOR. The chicken and shrimp were both MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. We came at lunch and the prices were a bit on the expensive side but worth it. When my friend cut into her salmon it fell apart in pieces like a delicate flaky succulent freshly caught fish. The spices and salt on the chicken were a bit much but I just wiped some of it off and ate the rest. I recommend that if you want a good meal for lunch go ahead and go for the Queensland shrimp and Chicken or fresh salmon. Both were delicious. Plus there was plenty of fresh brown bread with fluffy butter. Mmmmmm. Again, my first experience was disappointing but when I tried their Queensland dish my opinion changed. Also, be prepared to bring a decent amount of money. The restaurant can be a bit on the expensive side but worth it. And if you don't like fatty dishes go for the chicken, fish, or shrimp entrees because the chef likes to leave fat pieces on the steak meat(my only gripe) and if you don't want it too salty ask for less salt(this was the only other issue here). Other than that the chicken and shrimp I tasted were melt in the mouth. Another thing to keep in mind is that some dishes aren't served with bread(like the salmon) so save some of that brown bread or you'll have to ask for a extra side of bread. Also, the salmon does not come with any DIPPING SAUCES. That includes TARTER SAUCE. Be prepared to ask for mayo or honey mustard sauce if you are ordering any seafood entrees. Yeah that's right...most don't come with dipping sauces unless you have a sauce that the menu says is specifically on the entree. Tricky tricky. Other than that I liked the eating atmosphere. We haven't been here in a year or two so we thought we'd give it a chance again. We sat in the bar section which was good seats and this was at 3:10 today. Never saw our so called waitress and the other waitress working in this section checked on two different tables in this section. I asked her if she was our waitress and she said no. Ok no problem but our waitress has yet to show his or her face and after 10 minutes another couple sat behind me and the girl that wasn't our person goes to them !nd ask if they just sat down. Of course yes and she leaves and still no one. The not our waitress comes out with bread and deliberately goes to the table behind us and gives them bread. This was as rude of a waitress as ever and it pissed me off and we got up to leave and she says with a smart ass response " have a nice night". Friday, August 12, 2016. Party of six. Called ahead at 7:45 pm. Told to arrive at 8:15 pm. Seated at 8:40 pm. No server. Server too busy to stop by table. Backup server comes takes drink order. Wait 10 minutes real server comes takes appetizer order. 9:00 pm drinks and appetizer arrive. We place order. 9:15 pm salads come. 9:40 pm complain to server, where is food? Server - The kitchen is extremely backed up, but I promise your food will be right when it gets here. Manager, who is all of 21 years old, talking to multiple tables, laughing, smiling, having a good ole time....never once stops by our table to update us, apologize. 10:00 pm, still no food. We leave. No acknowledgement from anyone in restaurant. Good-bye Outback. I'm done with ya. read more

Food was okay, as expected for Outback. Service was bad, and I was a single at the bar. 3 bartenders, not a packed scene, and still waited 45 minutes to place my order. I at least received a drink after 20 minutes. read more

Our food was brought out and after that, no service. Our app plates were taken but then set and pushed right beside us in a corner. No refills and no ticket. Guests behind us got their bill and went to ask the hostess if they can checkout with her and she said no. So they returned to their seat and waited for more than 10 minutes. There were more staff hiding on the opposite side of the restaurant but couldn't possibly assist. Except when they had to sing a bday song to a guest then they all came out of the bushes. After typing this slowly, we are still waiting for our ticket as well as the guests behind us waiting to pay. read more

Every time We Come here, there is an issue. First, they need to hire some cooks that know how to actually cook a steak. The cheapo steaks from Food Lion are better. This visit my husband and I had the 9 oz Sirloin special. Nothing special at all about it. Both were ordered medium well. My husband's was close to past the well state. Mine was tolerable until I starting cutting into it. We sent his back, should have sent mine back as well. We had to eat our meals separately while his cooked. The brown bread was a touch cold. The manager did come over and offer for us to receive a complimentary desert which we took home. What they should have done was comp one of the steaks. The couple next to us was traveling and they had the very same situation. Husband's burger was raw. He sent it back. Him and his wife ate separately also. I suppose if the weren't located off I95, they would have closed by now. I noticed they are remodeling the outside, need to upgrade the inside as well. read more

I have on occasion been coming into this restaurant for 5 years now because I stay very near there. I think tonight was my last visit. This restaurant has gone downhill yearly. They use to have friendly bartenders (I usually sit at the bar) and decent food, but now I think they think the customer should be happy that they even (eventually) serve them. No acknowledgement that you are sitting at the bar, no "Hi, can I help you", and I had to ask for a menu after she finally served me something to drink. Never smiled, never asked how my food was and never thanked me when I got the bill, paid the bill or got up and left. Steak was so sallty on the outside it was hard to eat. Had a Ceasar salad with dressing on the side. THe wilted salad came out with more croutons than salad and the small bowl of dressing dripping down the sides all over. Very appetizing! I am surprised OUTBACK has not taken action on this restaurant to preserve their reputation. read more

My daughter was baptized today. To celebrate she decided she wanted our family to go to Outback after church. At 12:15 I called in for "call ahead seating" Kelsey answered the phone. I explained we had a group of 15 and were on our way. Kelsey asked that I hold so she could speak with the manager. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. When she returned to the line she explained the restaurant was busy and we would have an hour wait time but she would still put us down. I told her no problem, I understand you are busy on Sunday. When we arrived to the establishment I informed the hostess that our party had arrived. She said there was no call ahead for us and asked for my name. Kelsey, on the phone, did not ask for my name, just how many were in the party. I explained this to the hostess who did not care, she said she would just put us down at that time for a seat. I asked her about the 20 minutes that had already passed since I called and she said there was nothing she could do. I then spoke to the manager, Austin. I explained the situation and he said he was aware that we were coming, but it would still be another hour before we could be seated. While I was talking with him, my brother in law noticed 2 empty tables that would accommodate us. We were told we could not have those tables because they were for a call ahead seating. We were okay with this. We went outside and waited for 45 minutes. The entire time we waited those 2 tables were never occupied. My brother in law went back inside to speak with the manager. He waited at least 15 minutes on the manager to arrive to the front. We were finally seated at the tables that had remained empty for the duration of our wait. It appears they were set up for my call ahead seating, we were just never sat there. Finally, we are seated. It takes 10 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us. Another 10 for drink and appetizer orders and at least another 5 for 2 high chairs to arrive for the irritable toddlers that we had with us. After our children have their meltdowns and our orders are placed, we continue to wait 30 minutes for food. Half of the orders come out and we wait another 20 minutes for the reminder of the food. Two orders had to be sent back to the kitchen, our waiter had to return serval times to the kitchen to replace our half-filled condiments and dessert orders were never taken. We finally ordered dessert to go (some of the meals ordered came with the dessert, or we would have left by then), we waited another 20 minutes for our checks. We were at your restaurant for over 3 hours. Our food was terrible, our service was terrible and no one did anything about it. The manager was almost impossible to find and the server (Cameron) seemed to avoid our tables as much as he could. I have worked in the food serving business. I understand it can be difficult to accommodate large parties, and I understand that sometimes things do not go smoothly, but this entire restaurant visit was a joke. There was no reason for us to receive the service we did. I am not one of those people that usually makes a complaint. I am easy going and laid back and I am extremely understanding, but this was 100% uncalled for and I strongly feel that your establishment needs more training, better staffing and lessons on customer service. I do no plan on ever returning to your restaurant, and I will be sure to let everyone I know about my experience. This was the worst restaurant experience I was ever had. read more

Sure, the food was tasteful once it was brought out and the order was corrected multiple times. But the service was non-existent. We went here last night after a very long drive on 95. Decided to stop here hoping for good food. Well, it was not at all good and we should have been clued by the angry folks in the booth next to ours who were blasting the manager about the food. The manager apologized to these folks and we should have gotten up and left but we decided to try anyway. The full rack of ribs was hard as a rock and not even hot. The French onion soup was pure 'salt' and not hot either. Could not eat the soup. The quesadilla was in the same category. At least the red wine was good and the water even better. The service by Jessica was one of the best. She was attentive and caring and apologetic. Rather than have issue with the food we didn't make a fuss and were polite on behalf of Jessica. She's not responsible for the quality of the food, the kitchen is responsible. We can cross this place off our list but we want to thank Jessica for making an otherwise bad evening at least somewhat pleasant. read more

Well we stopped at out back Saturday to get a bite, first mistake. They were not busy just sitting one side of the restaurant. Waitress comes to the table we order sweet tea. Oops. No sugar in the sweet tea. Then after 10 packs of sweetener we get our salads they were good.then we got our sampler appetizer ,Mac cheese burnt. Cheese fries burnt onion just ok. Wait no dipping sauce, 10 minutes later waitress comes out to another table I finally just speak from my table to get dip, still another 10 min. And tea still sucks then the 24.99 rib eyes come out Waffle House Grade meat and mine was rare and hers was better off on the sole of my boots. No one ask how it was and I did not see management by looking around. Truly pissed I paid the 71.26 (very overpriced) for this Waffle House meal. Looks like it's Longhorn from now on. 3.00 for Tea. Southerners like it sweet must have college students from north making the tea. Very disappointed in Outback Lumberton. Just the name won't keep you the business. The service and good quality cooked right food that does..if that's done right 70.00 doesn't feel soon bad. read more
