If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would. I wish I had read the reviews before coming here but can tell you the low ratings are very much deserved. I always give some leeway to service now because of the times but that doesn't excuse rude/disrespectful behavior from the staff. When we arrived we put our name in to be seated, it was just 2 of us and were left waiting in the cold for 20 minutes as we watched other groups that came after us get seated before us. When we finally did get inside and commented on how long we had waited one of the staff had the audacity to say "it was only 4 minutes" and the the rest of the staff including the server proceeded to be very rude and abrupt as if we were disturbing them. This staff should be retrained on customer service and delighting the customer. We pass by this location quite often and next time we will keep going and suggest that others do the same!! read more

I have dined here with many friends over the years and always satisfied todays visit changed it all my Martial Dillon 12 OZ steak was seasoned correctly though a lot thicker than I like which made for a tough cut I didn't like, my mac-N-cheese served different than accustomed served without cheese baked on top asked they fix was served same bowl with a light sprinkle of cold cheese atop and the Mac N cheese was cold told server it was cold and to take it away i'd not be returning she said that is fine and brought me my bill I felt totally ripped off this visit and will need to reassess my dining in Lumberton. read more

My boyfriend and I sat up at the bar this past Friday at 5:00pm and was happily met by our awesome bartender. Everything was brought out timely especially given the time and day. I was very impressed with the food and drink quality! I got the caramel mustard pork chops which were to die for and my boyfriend got the filet mignon and the lobster tail. I think his own complaint was that the lobster tail was very small, but that is it as for complaints. Very nice experience! Love it read more

Worst Outback we've ever been to. Trash on the floor the servers stepped over dozens of times while we were there. Overflowing trash can in the bathroom. As a local, it is continually frustrating to be let down by our local Outback. On numerous occasions the online ordering system is down and when calling in no one will answer the phone on a call-in order. This has continued to take place for several months now. Hopefully management will realize they have an issue and address with staff. read more

We have read bad reviews on this and skipped on the way down because of that. Having patronized Outback for 20 years, we took a chance due to it being walking distance from the hotel. Lumberton Outback is like a trip to the twilight zone. We sat at the bar while all the locals got served. It is absolutely true that you wait an hour if you are a highway customer. The steaks were gamey. If the staff wonders why we tipped 10%, now you know. The local couple beside us sent a steak back 2x. So the quality-slip is equal-opportunity. We will never return in spite of the convenience. This Outback is a timely stop on our way back north, but not worth it. read more

I was suprised to see an Outback with such a low rating, but after visiting it I know why. As another reviewer said, loud rap music coming from the kitchen. Why would the Manager allow that? The beer on tap had an aweful dirty line taste. Clean the lines once in a while! The burger was thin, VERY greasy and full of grill junk in from the grill not being cleaned. Geez, clean the grill please! The place was very crowded but ot seems because it is the only place around where you can sit at a bar and eat. A single diner while traveling for business, I walked to the Outback nearby. I was immediately greeted with "just you?" When I confirmed, the hostess pointed me to a two top booth in the bar. My waitress and apparently my new bff sat at the table with me to take my order. I've never liked the schmaltzy type of service that is presumptuous enough to sit with me. But alas the service didn't suck. She missed a chance to upsell me another beer but that was her loss as there was an Exxon across the street where I could easily pick up my second drink on the way home. My meal consisted of chopped salad, 6pz filet with coconut shrimp & garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked! Unfortunately the potatoes reminded me of high school cafeteria food - & not in that nostalgic way. Plus they were cold as ice! Shrimp were a tad over cooked. Nobody ever visited the table. We frequently travel on I 95 and stop overnight in Lumberton. We've eaten at this Outback at least 10 times in the past 6 years and have never had a bad experience. Last night was no different. We had excellent service from Savannah, and Mandy, the manager stopped by several times to be sure we had everything we needed. Food was as we expected and served promptly. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on the way through town. While there were a few other people in for lunch it took much longer than expected to get our drink and appetizer order. When the bloomin' onion came out it was undercooked, but we are anyway because we were starving. My wife asked for extra fixings on the potato soup. The server said they were added gratis, but there weren't any extra toppings, she was just covering a mistake. My chicken cob salad had over cooked chicken and salad dressing in one lump in the middle. The egg that was supposed to be part of the salad was maybe 1/2 egg or less. My wife's chicken and artichoke flatbread was poorly mixed with some parts all artichoke and some parts all spinach. Not very appealing. Don't waste your time at this restaurant! I tried to call to do call ahead seat but was told that they were not taking any call ahead seating that day. I arrived at the restaurant and was told 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes wait. The staff at check in was rude. After waiting the hour and a half and see other parties that came after me be seated, in asked the manager about it. He informed me that those parties did call ahead seating. When I told him I was told that they restaurant was not taking call ahead seating, he said they call way before I called. How did he knows when I called? He never asked the time? He told me here was nothing he could do. So need less to say after 2 hours of waiting our party had to seat at different tables. He walked us to your table with a bad attitude, and not even say I am sorry for your wait. My father's friend from the military had driven from Florida to meet us and they had not seen each other in over 30 years. He was very disappointed that everyone was not seated together. The waitress never offered to refill any drinks. She only took the order and brought the food. The steaks were all under cooked and the salads had the wrong dressing. If you are thinking of eating here, I suggest that you think twice, then think about it again, then just cook at home! I know it will be better than the terrible service and bad attitudes you will be meet with it this establishment. Do better "Outback of Lumberton"! 1 star because there isn't a "0" Ate here in March, awesomely rotten experience then. Hard little uncuttable footballs of meat then. It has not improved. Horribly tight isles with 8 seated behind us and even the servers could hardly get through. Food was Luke warm, a medium rare steak felt refrigerated and medium well, fair hamburger, all you can eat shrimp, only once and then the waiter was gone. My aunt, who couldn't even cut the meat last time, was fine eating most of her bowl of soup. Taste and quality seem to have dried up in this chain. Why even do an all you can eat shrimp when they are tasteless little Chinese farm raised and too much breading and peppery ketchup or a little thickened Italian dressing on top of lightly boiled. read more

Extremely slow service . We stopped for a quick lunch. I got the unlimited soup and salad where you get unlimited bowl of soup and side salads and and hubby got a hamburger . Easy enough. I took 30 min to get the food although restaurant was not very busy . I requested another bowl of soup after I was done with the firat . Took 15 minutes during which my husband was done with his food. And we both waited for the soup to arrive . It came barely warm. I would have loved another side salad but we figured it would be 15-20 additional minutes to get it . So we gave up. It's unlimited soup and salad but if it takes so long to get them you give up. Our waitress also seem very sad and overworked. Never smiled . All is all sadly not at all the greatest lunch experience . It was evening time, a game we wanted to see was on, and we neede a comfy place to eat! I saw Outback and knew I could score a healthy meal, brew, and watch sports in the bar! Our server was Pedro. I knew he was good at his job when a customer dropped a full glass on the floor! He cleaned the nmess up completely, at the same time, comforted an upset customer! the customer. I told him how nice he was and represented well! My wife and I split their great Broccoli Cheese Soup, warm bread, and a 6 oz sirloin.with a delicious marsala wild mushroom sauce! Compared to all Outback that I have been to (and those that follow me know I travel 80,000 miles a year) this is the best Outback Steakhiuse! Across the chain, the food is relatively the same but what makes this location stand out is the service! Whether you live here or are traveling, sit at the bar and hope that Nikki or Cam are working. They set the standard for what service should be. Ordered Outback Special Sirlion Med Well with garlic mashed potatoes and side salad. As well as seared Ahi Tuna. Salad served promptly and the Ahi shortly after. Salad is salad but the Ahi was perfect. Med well sirlion was perfect! Chef had his timing down to a science. Ordered cheesecake with raspberry sauce for desert. Was exceptional. Could feel the calories with each bite and decided that for the sake of all humanity, that I would not finish it. (Have yet to finish a desert this year). To reiterate, this Outback is exceptional, by far the best option in Lumberton. We arrived about 7pm on Valentine's 2/14/2018. Parking lot jammed. Cars driving around looking for any open spot. We we're lucky and found one close to front door. Lots of people waiting. Asked about booth in bar area. They were first come first serve. A server took our drink order very quickly. We were hungry an placed meal order. Oh, geez....the bloomin' onion! I love those things. But if I'm being fair, everything is good. The pumpernickel bread is such a good change when eating at a steakhouse, making them stand out above others. The salad always tastes fresh and the dressings taste homemade even though I'm sure they're not. I was pleased with the contents within the salad, meaning it wasn't just lettuce, cheese, and croutons. The steak I ordered came with a seasoned, crispy crust that was delicious! You have the option to add that or just have a basic grilled steak. I got fries with my steak and they are never a disappointment. read more

We live local and have been going to outback here since they opened. We generally do pickup and have noted some issues with orders being correct. Lately this had gotten a little better but today is the last straw for us. We ordered 2 Bone-in Ribeyes. One medium and on medium rare. One had mashed potatoes and broccoli and the med rare one with two salads with extra dressing. Didn't get extra ranch for either one. Asked for extra bread and butter which usually they do not pack in the bag. Today extra bread as requested and 1 butter much less extra. The one that was medium got mixed vets instead. The online ordering system does not allow for broccoli but in the past we had been told to add mixed vets and on the instruction box below to delete that and add broccoli and that had been working until today. One of the steaks was not Bone-in but a regular ribeye the other was bone-in but not cooked correctly. The biggest issue I have today is that all these errors for simply not reading the ticket but they were not even busy maybe half the parking lot full. I paid $60+ and cant get it right. I will start driving down to the Peddler who has better steaks and will get it right. I would rather drive 23 miles, get food correct and pay the difference. The worst take-away service ever! Y'all need to fire every single one of the people who works in the take-away at outback. It is some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Every time I go it is terrible service. We waited 20 minutes and we had no idea what was going on until we had to flag down a worker and ask them where was our food. Very disappointed. Upon walking in, we were greeted by 5 workers gathered at the hostess stand chatting and laughing. We were told it would be a 25-30 minute wait; however, when the manager approached the hostess stand and reviewed the waitlist, the group dispersed and everyone who was waiting was seated within 5 minutes. Walked by several tables covered in dirty dishes on the way to our table. Ok..post-Covid everything has changed and we need to lower our expectations. Things went pretty well placing and receiving our order, until mid-way through the meal when our server walked by, literally threw the check on the table and said "whenever you're ready" as she walked away. Never asked if we wanted anything else, a second drink or dessert. Hubby pulled out his credit card and laid it on top of the check. 25 minutes later, we are done eating and the server still hasn't come by for the check. We finally got tired of waiting and approached the hostess stand only to be told, with quite an attitude, that our server will take care of it. We told her we had been waiting 30 minutes at this point. That's when we see our server sitting in the waiting area playing on her phone. We all know help is hard to find, but has it gotten so bad that a business will pay people just to show up? There was plenty of help at Outback tonight.
