We went to Outback Friday night 11/15/19. Our 33 year Anniversary Dinner. My husband got a great steak dinner and he enjoyed it. I ordered the Tilapia. I will never order it again. It tasted bland and tasteless. I didn't finish it. Don't order fish in a steak restaurant. The desert (cheesecake) was great. I have been here my 43 years and quality has been a staple with Outback. Beyond food over cooked, the service and sanitation was beyond tolerable. I would not write this review but after both managers passed us multiple times and never acknowledged us, I feel perhaps the problem is at the top. Below are a few observations: 1. My beer was delivered being held next to her breast and a finger in my glass. 2. Service trays were held by their hair. 3. Coasters fell on the floor and the bus boys put them back on the table. 4. This Outback was dirty and the service incredibly slow. I asked for a burger with no cheese, and they brought it with cheese. I don't usually go to Outback because I can cook the same things better and for less money, but besides that factor, I won't be going back here. Do yourself a favor and buy a nice steak or hamburger meat at the store and cook it yourself. This place is slow service for mediocre food. read more

Here's a great tip, when a customer comes in and is seated don't have the waiter complain about being bothered and that " they'll have to wait a while before I get there" right next to us. Needless to say we walked out . The hostess knew also as she heard the whole thing. read more

Check your silverware. My family and I ate at this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for lunch in September 2011 and found the experience to be quite distasteful. The silverware was absolutely nasty. My steak knife was covered in some sort of brown goo. The waitress nearly got sick when I discretely showed it to her. The waitress brought us more silverware and it too was filthy. The third set of silverware appeared to be ok but later I noticed the folds of the napkin contained some of the same brown goo. It was a bad experience made worse by wait staff who failed to do even rudimentary quality control after having been notified of the kind of problem we showed her from the first set of silverware. We did not complain loudly or make a scene but I think the waitress could tell we were grossed out - as I think she was as well. The manager came out and apologized for the situation and bought our appetizer for us. She told us that they have special needs folks who wrap the silverware on the weekends. I'm a supporter of putting special needs folks to work and having seen them perform exceptionally well in other companies I find it can be a rewarding program for the business as well as the participants. However, I'm also a rather big fan of sanitary silverware. A Health Inspector would have been appalled at what we saw that day. I imagine this Outback Restaurant lacks the proper supervision and quality control to properly manage a special needs work program which is obviously having a negative impact on their consumer experience. The wait staff and management of that restaurant also lack the proper consumer service experience or motivation as they completely failed to keep a bad situation from getting even worse. In addition to the silverware issue, we found the service at the restaurant was also seriously lacking. They were not overly busy the Sunday we were there but we still had trouble getting service for refills, etc... My family and I are NOT what you sometimes hear about in restaurants as "demanding" customers but we were really surprised by the poor experience. (A "demanding" consumer would have walked out after the first silverware experience I think - it really was quite bad...) We have had great experiences at Outback restaurants in other cities, but we will not be back to this particular restaurant as we found the experience rather gross. read more

Ordinarily I give good reviews bc the restaurant and the servers deserve it. Unfortunately that is not the case for the meal I received this evening at Outback. Ordered a martini and evidently Charles forgot. Other patrons that showed up later than I received their drinks and left the area before he even started making mine. Awesome... Sarah was nice and had taken the order, passing it to Charles. I ordered a filet mignon medium, mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. I got a well done steak that looked like shoe leather and tasted like a salt lick. The potatoes and asparagus were also quite salty. I firmly believe that if you have steaks on the menu and call yourself a steakhouse, you should be able to put out a good steak no matter how busy you are...pardon me for expecting better! I will NOT be going back. It is unfortunate... Didn't finish my wine and left w a tea as I was parched after this meal. So sad... Pretty run on the mill outback. It is a chain so table turning is to be expected to an extent. We came at 6 on a Sunday night and the wait was fairly long. We went to the bar and easily found 2 empty seats. I think bar service is better at this location so it was no problem sitting there (and bonus no wait time!!) Food is decent. Ahi tuna is the best starter they have hands down. This is your right down the middle average restaurant. If I had the choice id go elsewhere, but overall not terrible. read more

I am going to start out this review by saying I really love the inside layout/design. The staff are very friendly and quick refilling drinks etc. The food is amazing I suggest the Macaroni and Cheese with the broccoli it is truly amazing. They do have a first come first serve bar which I suggest if there is a wait for a table going there and getting a drink while you wait. (I even think you can eat there too or atleast I've seen people do it.) I will say one time I went there the food was a little cold however I haven't had that issue but one time. read more

We never had to ask for anything as he anticipated our needs and brought everything to us before we ever had to ask. I'm truly surprised I'm the first to review this location. I went last night with the folks for my little brother's b-day dinner. The hostess sat us right away. The waiter Marcus was probably one of the best servers I've seen in a long time. He made sure to go through all of the drink specials for us. My mom asked for a particular beer and when he said they didn't have that one, he then offered to bring her a sample of something very close to it. After we got our drink orders we went ahead and ordered our apps, and entrees. Food: The ahi tuna app comes with two dipping sauces and is delicious! We also got the Blooming Onion, which I'm sure everyone has had before, so no need to elaborate. Now here comes the interesting part of our dinner.... Once we got our entrees for some reason the kitchen plated all our food wrong, so we had to do a musical steak dance and pick up our steaks and place them with the correct sides that they corresponded with. This actually isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened to me. The last time my husband and I visited this Outback location we had the same debacle occur. To give credit where credit is due: Marcus was an awesome server and he probably would have corrected our plates if he had been the one to bring our order out to our table. The kitchen had someone else bring the order out instead, so Marcus our server didn't get a chance to fix the kitchen mistake. Also, the sides were not the proper portion. The food is usually decent to above average but nothing remarkable. Outback will never be your best meal. Just as their name implies, I would get the steak and prevent the imminent disappointment of an alternative mediocre dish. Kudos to their bread and cheesy fries though, they're not bad at all. Most items on the menu seem a tad overpriced and the service is usually slow. They're so packed on a Friday or Saturday night that you can forget about having less than a 45 minute wait, which is astounding considering how mediocre this Outback is. Most dishes are filled with an overabundance of cheese and butter, and I always have a mild stomach ache a couple hours after I eat there whether it's chicken, a burger, or pasta. Kinda the same effect I feel after eating at Mickey D's. But at least I can give Mcdonald's some leniency because I didn't pay $15 to eat there. You could do worse, but there are so many more worthwhile options if you're willing to drive ten minutes off of Independence Blvd. read more

Being in Charlotte, where the lowest fast food franchises get 4 stars I couldn't understand why Outback rated so low ... but I think I've figured it out: if there's one thing that local Yelpers are unforgiving about, it's $$$$. Charging around $20+ for 10 to 12 oz of beef with a side of mashed potatoes may be average at the national scale but it's pretty expensive for this type of venue here. So much so that I went for the burger instead, plain, nothing but the meat with a dab of mustard. It was served juicy, cooked the way I asked and the ground beef was primo, among the best burger meat I've had anywhere. The Caesar salad, like always, bears no relationship to the real thing but the dressing had a tasty bite to it so it was not boring. The fries are the standard frozen stuff but they were cooked right and not over salted or spiced with artificial flavors. The damage for the burger with fries and the salad was just under $12 - not including drinks, tax and tip. Considering the quality I think it's reasonable and Outback has become my go-to burger in this neighborhood. read more

Was really looking forward to an amazing steak...this did not happen tonight. The steak was undercooked and when we brought it to the waitresses attention she did not seem to care. My wife ordered a burger and sweet potato, it came out on the same plate and the butter melted over the entire plate, in turn making the bun so soggy it fell apart. Our server was sweet but seemed to have several tables. Our service was great. The waiter was very nice. The only downfall was that the lady's bathroom smelled like a sewer.

We went here after special church services and it was our first time. Upon arrival there were several people waiting and right off I saw lots of empty booths and tables. We registered and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. So we sat down and chatted. After being seated , our waiter Eddie came by and advised he would be right back since he was also waiting on two other nearby customers. He was very pleasant and attentive. Service was good and the food was good. One of our friends happen to know the manager or possibly owner who stopped to chat. He was very nice and chatted with all of us about our order and asked the youngest one in our group what dessert she liked best and he made sure we got one with spins for all to enjoy on the house. I ordered potato soup came out cold, ordered. steak dip it was cold and a bunch of grease, my burger had hair in it and it had a sour taste to it..over cooked bun was burnt. DO NOT EAT HERE! BAD SERVICE, BAD FOOD! My family and I visited this place and it was horrible from start to finish. First, they seated us (4 adults, 1 toddler, 7 month old) in a tiny booth, that we had to request to be moved to a bigger booth. We ordered a bloomin' onion that came out soggy. My brother ordered a clam chowder and a beer. The bowl was warm and the soup was cold below the safety temperature of 140 degrees as mandated. We spoke to the manager who doesn't seem to know what food safety is because she could NOT answer any our questions.( My brother is a professor cook) The only thing she said was the soup is in a pot warmer. Well, apparently it must be broken or turned off because the soup shouldn't be ice cold. The beer was hot. He told the server and still got another hot beer, eww! Then, it took them an hour to get the food out and it wasn't even busy! This was the most horrible dining experience ever! read more
