Decided to give Outback another chance. It was the biggest mistake. I have tried to get management to talk with me about the sharpe piece of metal in my three cheese steak dip. When I spoke with a gentleman two weeks ago on the phone, his name was Liam, he did not believe me. I called back and spoke with Nick, he didn't care either. So I posted on my Facebook page along with a picture of the piece of metal. A server from this store, left a comment, stating it was a blade from their slicer. That one of her dine in customers had it in theirs as well. And she gave me the lady's phone number. At least that lady got tuck away cards for a free meal. I got called a liar. Her and I are now sitting down with an attorney. What if we would jave swallowed it? I am posting this, incase others had the same happen to them. Aaron was the nicest server I think we've ever had. He was smiling, talked to you directly and he checked on us and was just all around pleasant. The bar tender tonight on the other hand. Needs to learn what a Dry Martini is and what the difference is between a dirty Martini and a straight one. 2 trys and struck out! YUK. Don't go to this place on a Monday. They were out of anything that I wanted to order. Even the bread that they bring you was not in stock! Our waitress was very snippy when we asked questions, I don't make it so therefore she will bring it out when it is ready!! It's almost like they don't want business. Waited on hold for a half hour to place a take out order before finally giving up. We assumed it was a busy Friday night issue. Since we had 2 gift cards of theirs to use we decided to try the next day for lunch and of course right back on hold. One of the gift cards came from the last occasion where they forgot our Blooming Onion. That trip was also a complete joke. We placed the order online and when we got there to pick it up they said the order never came through. If we ever get to use these gift cards I'm fairly sure it will be the last time we ever try this spot. Corporate really needs to take a good long look at this location. So at a certain point its on me for continuing to order takeout from here, but 90% of the time the order is wrong or missing something. You actively have to try and get the orders wrong at a certain point.... wrong items, no sauces, whatever it may be each time. Seriously, hire someone to check orders before they go out. read more

This isn't my first time to Outback but I ordered something new so I felt it warranted a new review. We did the curbside pick-up and the online order was ready on time and staff brought it to my car quickly. The food was hot and fresh. I like they included bread and butter, nice touch. But what I really want to talk about is this ongoing chicken war among fast food places. Well, Outback is not in that realm, and the price is more than double what you'd pay at Wendy's, for example. But to use the Blooming Onion seasoning on your chicken? Why did it take so long to figure this out? It was really good, juicy, crispy, everything you want if you're craving fried chicken. I opted for the meal with two sides as opposed to the sandwich though. If I'm getting breaded chicken, I don't need two more slices of bread beside it. But that's another discussion. read more

Went for a early dinner on Sat. Walked in at 4:30 and was fairly empty except for the groups of people waiting inside and outside to be seated (first bad sign). Hostess told us it was a 30 min. wait...with most of the seats empty! (2nd bad sign). We sat at the bar which had dirty plates and had not been wiped down (3rd bad sign; never got cleared why we were there). There was only 1 or 2 people sitting at the bar. Bartender kept telling us he would be right with us "my friends". Looked like about 5-6 servers working + bar staff...so, could not be the old no staff excuse. Our first experience was perfect, a few days later we decided to return , that was a horrible decision as during this visit, as we entered & waited atleast 10 minutes to be acknowledged, we were told there was a wait, I am not sure why as I counted & there were only 6 tables sat in the whole dining area, we proceeded to the bar where there were a few people, I ordered a drink after waiting probably 10-15 minutes for the bartendar as the text alert came over that our table was ready, my friend decided to order his drink at the table as the bartendar was very preoccupied, with I am not sure what, but not servicing the clientele. We were seated & we sat for 15 minutes, finally my friend went to the bar to order a drink & was told by the bartendar that he was are server & would be over as soon as he could get to us, about 5 minutes later he blew past our table & grabbed a drink order, 45 minutes later & no drinks as of yet, we left. 2nd...We decided that since the first experience was great possibly the last time was just an off night. No, the next visit was worse as they gave our food to the table behind us and we were waiting over an hour for our food, the manager after trying to break up a fight between a sat booth & the booth behind it, tried to lie to us & deny they served our food to the wrong table, that table & my table had already realized together what happened. To sum it up, I am not sure whom the woman who constantly says "my name is on the door" is & to be honest she should be embarrassed if her name is on the door, theres many more visits we ventured into this Outback & they just got worse after this evening & the lady whoms name is on the door, trashed a previous Manager verbally to us & made crude comments about her & voiced how she fired her, that right there is wrong, I dont care what the previous Manager might have done, that is unethical behavior & that explains why everytime we have visited this Outback we NEVER see the same employees. The food was adequate. My steak was burnt however the ahi tuna was good as was the prime rib. The lemonade was yellow water. We told the waiter it was watered down and he just said "so do you want something else". He was so rude throughout the whole meal. Running thru everything, placing drinks down on the table hard, never smiled, just took the order and turned away without talking. When I needed a box at the end we couldn't find him so I asked another waitress who was just as rude "yeah hold on" and then gave me the box and when I said thank you she turned away and kept walking. Then She started cleaning up around us and pushed a high chair back like it was a racing car and almost hit my husband and never said excuse me. The only nice person was the hostess. Now to the food it's basically a salt lick, you ruined a nice porthouse steak with your over, and yes I mean over seasoning. So we thought we'd stop in, just the two of us. When we arrived at 6pm the restaurant was nearly empty. One of the three girls standing at the front said the wait for the two of us would be about 45 minutes. Again, the restaurant was almost empty. I asked why so long of a wait and the response was "we're under-staffed". Now, there were 3 girls at the entrance to the right and 2 guys to the left. A total of 5 employees right at the door. Pleasantly surprised. Never ate at any Outback before this was pretty good i must say. The var n drinks were a triumph. But thats not tge story here. I went with a leaner cut the filet. Willing to sacrifice a little flavor for the health of it. But no sacrifice would occur here. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Juices well retained with all the flavor and tendernesss to melt in your mouth. I ate it more quickly than most entrees and found my self wishing i had ordered the higher ounce cut The blooming onion was better than ever and sauce supplied was capital Yummy. Service at the bar where we sat was excellent and the place had a friendly atmosphere. Always a bonus when the GM cones by to ask you about your visit. What a joke. Decided to try curbside pick-up and in fact ordered our food at least two hours before the scheduled pick-up time. Right now it is 40 minutes past the time and still no sign of the food. This is my absolute last time that this restaurant will get my business. I would absolutely stay away from this place of you're hungry. Tasty food, decent service... but the experience was poor and the steak is wildly over priced. I ordered a pint of Oktoberfest and it came with a nice head but quickly it disappeared which indicates a glass with sanitizer residue or a dirty glass. It would have been fine if the head had stuck around, but now it looked like a short pour. I took it up with the bartender to no avail. This is enough to eliminate going there again for me. But wait, there is more. The Caesar salad, while tasty, looked to have been thrown together... it would have been nice to have the croutons tossed with the salad. Instead it looked like they were an afterthought... thrown irregularly on top... it was a lousy presentation. The steak was good, but way overpriced. The staff had no clue as to the origins or quality rating of the beef so it was simply a mystery steak. My wife's steak was over salted and we brought most of it home so we could scrape off the seasoning before we even attempted to resuscitate it... pretty crappy. read more

the food was mid and when i say mid it is not that worth it to come here. here at the mentor restaurant the waitress was nice. salads came out AFTER our MAIN MEAL. one salad was missing cheese and dressing. when one of our steaks came out it was medium well when i asked for medium RARE. the workers seemed to be lost in some way which shows the lack of communication the team has. with my pasta there was little to no alfredo. now my remake of my stake came out. some peices were well, others were medium well, and one was RARE BLUE. as much as i love my medium rare steak it was gross. seasoning was clearly lacking and overall the food was horrible. worst experience ive had here. but don't get this mixed up our server was great others were the lost ones. read more

Peaceful setting for a late lunch today. The server was thorough and made ordering easy. Yummy crisp salad, Wednesday Special $10.99 steak or chicken meal and warm bread...... and of course, the Sam Adams helped. We all enjoyed our meal and no one was in a hurry to rush us out of the restaurant. Manager even stopped by to be sure we were happy. While the food was good the service was not, this was the second time! I won't rate service bad based on 1 experience. I'll give a second try if the food is at least good. We sat down and were asked if we wanted something to drink. Without looking at the menu yet an iced tea and a water to start were good. We then ordered an appetizer, a drink, and were asked if we wanted bread for the table. The appetizer came and that was all. A little later the food came out with the drink (I needed that 25 minutes ago). Still no bread that would have gone nicely with the salad and meal. However we were asked if we would like some bread to go, which was really useless at that point! Most of our visits to Outback have been great, but I have a couple gripes about our last visit. Hoping someone in charge at this particular location will read this and address this small issue. It's about portions for "Loaded" baked potatoes. Our potatoes were pretty small, and I could not have dabbed on tinier quantities of bacon, cheese or sour cream. I didn't see broccoli offered as a side, other than a premium version with cheese. I opted for that, and my wife asked for broccoli as a side, and was obliged. She ended up with a nice healthy portion of fresh broccoli, and I got a small dish of wilted broccoli with wretched tasting cheese melted in the bottom of the plate. Not sure what I should have expected, but I will join my wife with her choice on the next visit. Otherwise, the steaks were great and cooked perfectly. Staff was awesome as usual. we use to visit this restaurant quite a bit BEFORE they moved to the Mentor mall Parking lot. Before they moved service was great and the food was great. the restaurant atmosphere was that of a restaurant. they turned it into a bar atmosphere sports tv's everywhere. Since they moved to the new location the feeling is all about money. we went twice to the new location and both times the service was slow. the first visit our appetizers were half burnt and the second time they lost our order and the entrees were over cooked. They should not of moved, they lost what they had in the old location, a good well managed restaurant. read more

Hostess was terribly rude. She could hardly be bothered to look at me or stop her conversation with another employee to even take our name down for a seat. We were so uncomfortable waiting in front of her after her rude behavior to put our name on the wait list that we left and spent our money at another restaurant. I really like it here I usually get a platter meal steak and lobster or something like that. The blooming onion is a must have it is totally worth it and you will have leftover. Over all friendly staff quick to serve and check on you often love the fosters on tap.I think it's funny how the servers try to do a Australian accent it's kinda horrable but funny at the same time. Restaurant was nice atmosphere , floor had quite a bit of food on it . Got seated very quick for a Sunday at 7:20. Hostess was very pleasant . Out of prime rib , out of filet medallions , out of ahi tuna . Was told by waitress that it's normal for them to run out of food on Sunday because the truck doesn't come till Monday (really wtf ) couldn't get a refill on ice tea , they ran out . They did brew more for us . Settled for chicken & shrimp pasta because I was already aggravated out them being out of 2 of the things I tried to order . Food over all was pretty mediocre . On a good note server was awesome , she made sure to keep drinks full & was very nice . She even went to manager with out us complaining to get us a 10% discount because they seemed to not have anything we ordered. Tonight my father in law chose this Outback Steakhouse to celebrate his birthday and it was an experience I was thoroughly impressed by, considering several incidences. First and foremost, we ended up having a party of 8 instead of our initial party of 4, my husband promptly notified the host and he immediately worked with the server to accommodate seating due to the change in the number of people attending, there was no wait for us to change tables. Secondly, I have to give a huge shout out to our server Tyler, she was extremely professional and held her self well. She should definitely be working somewhere WAY higher class than Outback Steakhouse. She spoke with a maturity that is, in my opinion, NEVER seen from a young person in that setting. She addressed each and every person at the table with ether sir or ma'am. At one point a small dish of mustard slipped out of her hand as she was setting it at the table and it accidentally splattered all over the side of my aunts black blazer. Thankfully my aunt was very forgiving and Tyler swiftly apologized in a professional manner, kept her cool, took the blazer and cleaned it with seltzer water while we all started eating. Never, at any point did she over dramatize the situation or seem overly embarrassed. I was VERY IMPRESSED with how she handled the situation. Following the mustard mishap, the manager Christine came to our table to acknowledge the incident, offered to have Outback foot the dry cleaning bill and swapped information with my aunt! So awesome of them to do that! The meal was wonderful, we never ran out of a drink before it was offered to be refilled and everything came out just as expected and nobody's order was messed up. The checks came swiftly and were promptly taken and returned in the same manner. While I try to avoid chain restaurants, I just might make it a point to stop back by this particular Outback, should the situation call for or permit. Bravo! read more

I dined here the other night. Our server was very friendly! For a franchise steakhouse, it was really expensive and for most of the entrees, you only get one side..everything else is extra. My boyfriend wanted to check it out because he was in the mood for a good steak. He can eat a decent-sized steak and the smallest steak was super pricey. He didn't bother because it would not have been enough food. And for a weeknight dinner, he didn't want to pay $100 for our meal. So he got the grilled porkchop. It was ok; I had a bite. His sweet potato was so small. I ordered the Alice's Chicken. It was good, but it just came out on a plate by itself because I already had my very small salad. I mean would it kill them to throw a few fries on there? I ended up giving my boyfriend most of my chicken...I knew he could eat it because his porkchop meal was small. Oh and NO bread!! I did see some servers walking around with bread, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that was extra lol My overall opinion: Don't waste your money. Go to the Texas Roadhouse! I cannot say enough good things about the Texas Roadhouse. You get 2 HUGE sides with everything you order and the prices are great. Food and service are amazing and the portions are huge. You get bread and peanuts right when you sit down!! I usually get a beer and we walk out of there with having enjoyed a delicious dinner and a wonderful experience at a great value. I realize that my review is actually a great review for the Texas Roadhouse LOL Either go to TR, or make your own delicious steak dinner at home. Dined here on Saturday afternoon 11/09. My son picked this place for his birthday. Our food was good. My Bloomin Chicken tasted outstanding but the shribbled up piece of chicken looked nothing like the nicely sized portion example on the menu photo. My son's steak as well as my wife's salad were also good tasting. The service was mediocre at best. The wait staff appear to just be going through the motions. Completely void of any enthusiasm or attention. I guess I should be glad they didn't cross into rudeness as others have complained. My biggest issue was the person who actually served us our meals had very frizzy hair. Where it was not pulled back, it was sticking out in every direction. We all checked our food before eating it for hairs and thankfully found none. This person should not be allowed to serve food let alone be allowed anywhere in the kitchen. Another sign that the management is just not paying attention. We've been to Outbacks all over the country and this Mentor one for years now just seems rife with problems. read more

I enjoy the outback chain and I'm aware that one bad experience may be just bad luck, however my experience was not great, therefore my review is 1, unless I somehow end up here again and that experience is drastically better. After waiting several minutes for a table to be clean, even though several others were already clean we were finally seated. My wife and I sat there for several more minutes as waitresses walked passed us. Eventually the waitress came. I felt bad because the waitress had to train someone and wait her regular tables, perhaps a bit much and probably effected things. Not necessarily the waitresses fault, probably management. We got our bread before our drinks and instead of butter were served sour cream, which my wife found out after putting a mouth full of bread in her mouth (happy it was her and not me lol). The food was cooked fine, no complaints on the fillet or the prime rib. I ordered the all you can eat shrimp as well. Easily the tiniest baby shrimp I have seen with a whopping 2 sauce choice. Note: obviously this a problem with the entire chain and not this direct location. Waiting on the shrimp was really long. Idk if it was a tactic so that I didn't down as much, but it was really long. I have done all you can eat shrimp at red lobster with much better results. The waitress stated that the food took long because the chef had a lot of orders. It was a Monday at 8pm, no more than 10 people in the entire place, maybe they were short staffed. Regardless of being short staffed, the waitress training someone and the quality of the shrimp I am basing this review on my overall experience. Tonight i ordered their Wednesday Special deal and picked it up at their very convenient carryout pickup. They bring it right to your car! A very nice, fresh house salad with ranch, fresh mini loaf of bread, french fries, steak and dessert. All for $16.99. I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the steak. I ordered the 9oz sirloin. If i didn't know better i would have thought it was a filet mignon. It was a very thick, round cut. Cooked exactly as ordered - medium rare. Perfect. Very tender, juicy and flavorful. Are you guys sure you didn't give me a filet by mistake? Delicious! Outback - thank you for offering such a nice meal at a very affordable price. The service at this Outback in Mentor is awful. The last time we tried to eat there, it was on a Friday afternoon and there was hardly anyone there, the hostess was talking to another employee and did not greet us until another couple showed up, once we were seated we waited for over 15 minutes and still did not even have any water, the waiter looked at us several times over that 15 minutes and never bothered to come over at which we left and went somewhere else to eat. Place was a quarter full. Just bad service, cannot even comment on food as it still not here. That didn't include the 30 minutes for an appetizer. The burgers had VERY little sauce for it being a blooming onion burger and my son got rice instead of fries. Certainly was expecting more. Shrimp had way too much breading on it. I found myself peeling away some of it just so I could taste the shrimp. The famous blooming onion was a bit crisp and not as good as what you can get at the county Fair. My sister in law had some crab cakes which had none of the nice sweet taste of crab, instead were very fishy. Not fresh at all. Service was ok. Waiter was efficient, but added nothing to our experience. For 122 dollars for four of us it was not worth it. We didn't even have dessert or alcoholic beverages. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could leave a zero I would. They would not take a call ahead for a party of 10. They did not suggest breaking it up into 2 tables. When I requested to be transferred to manager he hung up on me. Another employye stated they would cash out gift card I had purchased for this visit.
