I like that the food at Outback is consistent. We dined here as a family, 3 adults and 2 children. The large table we were given was comfortable and gave us enough space. Our server was pleasant. Our food came out within a reasonable time. Our appetizer of loaded fries was a large portion. I always get the Alice Springs Chicken which I enjoyed, I like that the entrées come with two sides. For dessert we shared the chocolate chip cookie skillet, which was a big hit with everyone, especially the children. They have the iPad type consoles on each of the tables, you can order and pay on it, but also play games. We were charged $2.99 for unlimited games, if a three year-old without a credit card can access it then it needs to be a little more secure. For my first time at an Outback Restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was to be so busy. It's dimly lit with dark decor and carpeting. The staff greeted and sat us immediately. The waiter quickly took our order and we were eating in no time. My Salmon was prepared perfectly but my friend's shrimps were too salty to eat. I haven't been to an Outback Steak House since 2006. When I walked in it felt so cozy. I had the koorubora hot wings with mashed potatoes and green beans. The drinks are great. Lively servers who don't get lost in the sea of patrons. Food is always good. Wait times are sometimes long but that can be avoided by making a reservation. The second waiting area is pretty cold. If it's your birthday they bring out a saddle for you to ride. The shrimp was tiny and not good. The pasta "creation" tastes like it came from a box. I ordered two drinks the Crown on the rocks was straight forward but the old fashioned was the pits. Went to the orange CT location for lunch on 12/9/24. Hadn't been there in a while. We ordered outback burger, grilled shrimp, and our friend ordered a chicken sandwich. Table had a blooming onion as well. Everything was just ok. Burger seemed kind of small and tasted similar to. McDonald's burger. About 4:30 on a Sunday, there was no wait. We were seated at a booth in the bar. It took a good 10 minutes before the bartender walked by saying she'd be over soon. She finally comes over, we give her our whole order, figuring she's busy and it will help her out. She dropped drinks off, no lemon in my water, and bread. She made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her. It was almost as if she was serving us as she was running by us. Our cheese fries came out super hot and delicious as always. In my opinion, this is the only item worth ordering at Outback. The fries are crispy, just enough salt, lots of cheese and bacon throughout the pile of fries. Soon afterwards, our meals were brought out. My cob salad, no tomato, made correctly. I only wish I had asked for the dressing on the side. There wasn't much on the salad. The lettuce was fresh, plenty of egg, cheese, and croutons. My husband's chicken sandwich looked delicious, however he said it was very salty. This coming from a man who salts everything! He said he couldn't taste chicken, only the salty seasoning. The bun was really good though! Our server stopped back once to get a refill and barely checked on us the whole time. Anyway I have generally had a good experience here and when it was not 100% up to par it was corrected to beyond my satisfaction. The staff here is usually very good and friendly and the service is good. I have had the filet mignon several times and I can say it is always excellent and very consistent.
