We came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We each ordered a cocktail. She got a blueberry margarita and I got a cucumber gin mixed drink. Both were refreshing and delicious. We ended up ordering another round. For appetizers we ordered the crispy maple Brussels and tuna & salmon tartare. The Brussels were fried to perfection and glazed a sweet maple syrup. It also came with thick cuts of bacon. Definitely recommend this. For the tartare, it was also delicious and fresh. It was mixed with avocado and turnip. We thought the turnip would be off putting but it actually meshed well with the flavors. Came with fried wonton chips. For the main course we shared the NY strip and Lobster Malfaldine. The steak was cooked to perfection with a very nice sear and flavored well. Probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. Definitely beats out any steakhouse steak. The Lobster Malfaldine was also absolutely delicious. Most of the time, lobster pasta is usually a bit bland and lacking in lobster. NOT HERE. They included big chunks of lobster and the sauce was so good. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Strawberry Hand Pie. This is basically a warm strawberry strudel with vanilla bean ice cream. They used locally sourced strawberries and I'm still thinking about it as I'm writing this review. Adrienne was our server and she was very nice and attentive. This place tries, and the food is perfectly tasty, but authenticity is where things start to drift. The menu hits some expected notes. You'll see things like moqueca, picanha, bolinho de bacalhau, camarão ao alho, and caldo verde. On paper that all sounds promising. But the execution feels softened and Americanized, and the overall menu reads like a curated sample of Brazilian dishes rather than something that feels rooted in an actual Brazilian kitchen. Moqueca itself, the dish the restaurant is named for, should be a vibrant stew layered with dendê oil, coconut milk, cilantro, lime, and peppers, the kind of thing that hits you with aroma before the spoon even reaches your mouth. Here it's fine, but it lacks the depth and brightness that make the real version so memorable. Feijoada shows up as a special some days, which is good to see, but honestly it's the kind of dish that lives or dies by its ingredients and slow cooking. With good cuts and some patience I can make a better one at home. The biggest red flag on the entire menu, though, is what's missing. There is no Pão de queijo. For a Brazilian restaurant, that's almost an affront. Pão de queijo is practically the national snack; warm, chewy little cheese breads made with tapioca flour that show up everywhere from bakeries to gas stations in Brazil. Leaving it off the menu feels like opening an Italian restaurant and deciding bread isn't necessary. Portions are also very American. Plates are enormous. That might sound like a positive, but it often just means a lot of food gets wasted unless you pack it up. For those of us staying on nearby boats in the harbor, hauling leftovers around isn't exactly ideal. None of this means the restaurant is bad. The food is good enough, the seafood is solid, and the harbor setting is pleasant. But if you're coming here hoping to revisit the flavors of Brazil, it falls short. It feels more like a Brazilian-inspired restaurant designed for American expectations than a place that truly captures the cuisine. It's enjoyable. Just don't expect the Brazil you remember.

I had an amazing experience at Outback Steakhouse! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and welcoming. The highlight of my visit was without a doubt their bone-in ribeye steak. Perfectly cooked to order, it came out juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The sear on the outside had that rich, smoky char you can only get from a steakhouse grill, while the inside was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Every bite was seasoned just right, allowing the natural flavors of the steak to shine. It paired perfectly with the sides, but honestly, the ribeye itself could easily stand alone as the star of the meal. Outback clearly knows how to deliver a steakhouse experience that feels both indulgent and satisfying. Not that I was expecting much from an Outback Steakhouse, but this particular location managed to not even meet my already low expectations. Three of my friends dragged me here. One of them got their entree right away, the second got his about ten minutes later, and the final two came another five minutes after that! By the time I got my steak I had already eaten way more bloomin onion than anyone should ever dare to eat! My steak was cold. Maybe it would have been ok if it had come directly to the table, but I'll never know. We did manage to get drunk and have a good time regardless. Ed, the manager at Outback Steakhouse, was shockingly unprofessional and set the worst example of leadership I've ever seen in a restaurant. Instead of resolving issues with courtesy, he was condescending, dismissive, and acted like any concerns were a personal inconvenience. When our food came out wrong and our server was clearly overwhelmed, Ed didn't step in to help -- he made things worse with his attitude. If this is how the manager behaves, it's no surprise the service was a disaster. Outback seriously needs to reevaluate who they're putting in charge. read more

Ate at Outback last night. I had the shrimp and scallop griller. It was delicious. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the shrimp wee perfectly seasoned. This is truly a great dish! The only negative thing I can say is why do places always sit the customers right next to each other? Why can't they separate us by at least a booth/table especially when the place is empty! We shared their pricier (but very delicious) Takumi Combo at $29 with choice of 2: (real filet mignon, chicken, Korean BBQ, shrimp, scallops, salmon) with fresh Teppan vegetables and rice. The order was big enough to share with two of us. Takumi only opens late afternoon until 10 pm. You can also order ahead of time via meal delivery apps like GrubHub. We highly suggest going since there are no Teppan restaurants in the immediate Oxnard or Port Hueneme area, and this food truck is surprisingly very authentic... minus the theatrical antics of a Benihana Teppan chef (which I can do without).

We picked up at their Esplanade Dr. location in Oxnard, staff were very friendly and our order was ready fairly quickly. We also ordered delivery from their 5th St. location and the food was still hot when it arrived (we are in Ventura). You get lots of food and each item we've tried is delicious. Definitely on our rotation when we get that craving for steak or seafood.

This location has a small bar off to the side and I honestly don't recall if the one in Simi Valley did. I got a Sharky's burrito and added steak with a fountain soda. I paid ~$19. I love salsa bars so I was all about getting to try several. Your burrito comes with a small side of chips which is a step up from Chipotle whom charges for them. I don't care for rice in my burritos but I get the appeal. I was hungry and it does help satisfy. I probably should have added sour cream and cheese just to have more creaminess to it. But it was good. The chips were fresh and the salsas were delicious. My favorite is the avocado salsa.
