Someone needs to teach the staff or they need to bring in a professional team to clean this restaurant. A huge turnoff is when you enter the restaurant only to find fingerprints on the doors from multiple days, and a floor that you could have skated across for the grease. The last time we visited, my husband who's in the cleaning business noted the odor of greasy carpet. Others must have noticed or complained because MGMT has totally removed the carpet providing the skating rink. As far as the food was, which is why you go out to eat, the steak was cooked correctly and served in a timely manner. Before selecting this restaurant in the future I'm definitely going to check the health department ratings for kitchen cleanliness. read more

There's really little point in reviewing the food here. It's a chain restaurant. One Outback will be more or less the same as the next. You go in knowing what you're going to get. The praise here is for the service at the Prince Frederick Outback. We occasionally get carryout from here and this is one of the few restaurants we've experienced at which they actually double-check the order item-by-item when it comes out of the kitchen to make sure it is correct. There is nothing more frustrating than getting home and finding out you're missing a key element of your dinner. That never happens with the Prince Frederick outback. They're friendly and highly efficient. (One oddity, though, when you order the barbecue chicken, the barbecue sauce is always omitted UNLESS you order extra sauce. Ordering extra sauce gets you the basic amount of sauce you're supposed to receive.) read more

Husband and I went in at 4:03 on Saturday and was told we had a 10 min. wait. We noticed numerous empty tables. So we sat down to wait 10 mins. meanwhile after a few minutes other people came in and was told there was a 5 min. wait. After they were there about 2 mins. one greeter took us to one side of the restaurant and the other greeter simultaneously took the other people to the other side. We were seated at one of the many empty tables. We were wondering what our wait was for. I think the greeters need to be trained, they both were young. First let me say that the food was fantastic!!! The complaint here is the wait staff, my son and I went in last night, i'm not sure if I am allowed to single this one waitress out or not, so I won't. I will just say that it was the worst service I've ever had! She came and got our order, while in the middle of taking my order she turned around and walked away to clear dishes off the bar area, Never saying excuse me or I'll be right back or anything, Then returned to continue taking our order like she never walked away. We ordered our food... She brought the salad's , then she never came back to our table again! I had to ask the hostess to get us silverware, had a different waitress bring our steaks, then Had to ask another waitress as she walked by, for some steak sauce. Went 11/12/2021 with my husband and daughter for a good prime rib. I could have gone to Macdonald's for a better dinner and a lot cheaper! When my prime rib was put in front of me I was shocked. It was over cooked and maybe a quarter inch thick and baked potato was dry. My husband and daughter had onion pedals and they were burned. I don't know how they stay busy. We need a Texas Roadhouse in PF ! Would have sent back but didn't trust what they would do with my meal. read more

3 out of 4 meals had issues. Crab cakes full of shell pieces, a steak cooked to medium was served rare and was sent back to be cooked as requested, prime rib over-cooked and Cole slaw was very sour. We got to the restaurant around 4:15, so it wasn't that super busy, so there is no excuse for the meat not being cooked as ordered. I have to say that I probably asked for it. Going to Outback for my birthday dinner probably wasn't the best decision, and on this visit, that was proven true. Our visit started out with my mother putting our name down with the hostess. We patiently waited for our name to be called, and when the expected wait time passed, my mother asked where we were on the list. As it turned out, our name was put down incorrectly, and a different family got seated when the incorrect name was called. A little frustrating, but at least it was rectified. When we got seated, the server was generally attentive, but our order was brought out piecemeal, with an entree brought as an appetizer, and a side dish was brought out on someone else's plate. Not a gigantic deal, but when you couple that with the abnormally long wait time, it was quite frustrating. The steaks were not bad, but one in our party ordered a medium steak, and got it well done. Our party is generally not that picky in restaurants, but all of us left unsatisfied and probably won't be back here. It's a shame since Calvert County is kind of limited in restaurant options as it is. Oh well. read more

Reviewing Outback is like reviewing a 7-11 (and yet, people still do it) because they're all the same! This is more a comment on service, not the food. We eat here regularly because my wife loves the cheese fries! We get carry-out mostly and they often screw up the order. I think that the telephone is the problem. I found that ordering on the website eliminates this weak link in the chain and the order is much more likely to be prepared properly. We ate in last week and the call-ahead seating was a good plan on a Friday night; we only waited 10 minutes and it was crowded. The hostesses seemed harried and a bit grumpy, but they were doing better than I would have been under the same circumstances! Given the crowd, the service was fine and everything arrived promptly. read more

Hot mess express..I guess it was just a bad night for the staff but my husband and I went in there tonight to have some drinks and apps. We sat at a booth in the bar area. It was moderately occupied with other customers. Took about 10-15minutes for our server to cruise by and say hello. She does a brief greeting and and says she's gonna grab us some bread. Cool. She disappears for another 10ish mins and comes back with the bread and to take our drink order. So while we're munching on our bread and waiting for our drinks, about four customers at the bar are complaining to a solo bartender about something significant cause then the manager (who had this f*** my life look on his face), had to step in to apologize and talk to the pissed off customers..anyways we finally get our drinks which took awhile and I legit had a full glass of Tito's with made a shot of coke LOL. I politely asked the server for a glass of coke on the side to mix my own damn drink and even she made a comment about how she knew my drink was too strong and apologized leading me to believe she's had that complaint a few times already with this bartender. So whatever, we're chilling/eating our apps and another set of customers start complaining about their drinks and the bartender, who was clearly over her crappy night, was getting nasty with said customer. Then for the next 15ish mins the bartender goes on a rant about her terrible her night has been and the management sucks and blah blah blah..idk I get having a bad night but it totally killed the vibe for my husband and I when all we wanted to do was chill. The atmosphere was just too intense. Prob won't be going back anytime soon that's for sure. read more

I have a very hard time getting hold of them. They do not answer the carry out and it rings back to the front. They send you back it takes so long that I am usually in the parking lot before I can get an answer. I got a Blooming chicken sandwich, it was fried so hard it was hard to bite off a piece. They forgot the pickles, sauce, and the roll was dry. Very disappointed. I love that sandwich. Usually it is thick and worth the price of 11.00 for a sandwich. What has happened to it, the price went up and the quality went down. read more

My husband wanted ribs so I ordered them for a pre-father's day dinner. I ordered them via door dash and they came faster than expected. Sadly, that was the highlight. The ribs were so tough they were almost inedible. They even forgot to take off the membrane. I got a sweet potato as my side and it had absolutely no taste. I've been here a few times for dinner. The service was decent and the food was pretty good. The problem is lunch. If you only have an hour for lunch, DO NOT GO HERE. I know they only recently started opening for lunch, and at the beginning, they did ok. Kinda slow, but we managed to get there, have our food and get back to work on time, like we do at most other sit-down restaurants in the area. Over the past few months, the speed of the kitchen has declined significantly. A co-worker and I went here for lunch last friday. We were seated immediately because they were far from busy. The waiter was nice, brought us drinks and bread, and took our order. Forty-five minutes later, we were still sitting there with nothing but our drinks and bread being our only food for the afternoon thus far. Our server assured us that the food was on its way up now, and apologized for the kitchen being backed up. After he left the table, I looked around to see what imaginary crowd was causing such a delay. Fifteen more minutes passed before our food that was "on its way out" actually arrived. At this point, I had to ask the waiter to just box it up so we could take the food back to the office. Checking the bag before I left, I had a potato with no butter, no silverware (I ordered a steak.. kind of important), and he brought us two to-go cups for our drinks, but no refills (I only had about 1/4 of a glass left). I won't return here for lunch anytime soon. Since then, several co-workers have returned to the office, apologizing for running late, with the common comment of "I should have known not to go to Outback." If you've got a couple of hours to spare, take your chances. If you have any sort of a timed lunch break, go somewhere else. read more

The first few times we were here and everything was very good. The loaded fries are great. And the first few times we went, everything was good. This last time we went though my husband and I got the rib chicken combo, for like $14 or $16, I can't remember. Wow tiny portions! I didn't complain then cause it isn't the waitresses fault, but she almost looked embarrassed to be serving them. Mine was a lot smaller than my husbands as if they knew who to give the bigger portion to. They do give you hot bread free which is great. We decided to try the blooming onion here and it was bad, didn't fall apart or anything, very raw. Ummm... seriously??? My boyfriend (49) and I 39 just left there! They would NOT SERVE my boyfriend alcohol because he didn't have his license! FYI did I mention he's 49 and bald?!!!!! Ribs and chicken came out ice cold. I sent them back and sat for 20 minutes while my partner ate his meal. When I asked for the manager he came and was totally hostile, telling me he and others 'touched' my food and it was hot. Great, lots of fingers in my food. The only reason I'm giving it a two star and not a one star is because the waitress was friendly and they tried to help take care of the situation however I ordered the rib eye and it tasted rotten like the meat was in the fridge for over a week and they decided to cook it. They tried to offer me another steak but I wasn't hungry after that. They took it off our tab. The waitress and manager were nice about it though. This place is pretty average, but it definitely used to be better. They make major mistakes quite often. My family goes here occasionally for takeout and dine in. There is nothing too bad about the service; I find more of a problem with the food recently. Last time I went there their salads had shrunk significantly. I also got a side of broccoli that costs close to $3 and it was just one small bushel. I felt a tad ripped of. My mom got chicken on her salad that was completely pink in the middle. She sent it back because it was obviously raw. My sisters steak was also pretty bad. Often when you get take out they give the worst pieces or steaks, maybe hoping that you won't be able to complain because you are at home already. They also forget dressing and sides quite often, so check your bag before you leave! I really would like to give the restaurant more stars because the food generally tastes pretty OK. Unfortunately, they make too many annoying mistakes and the food quality seems to be going downhill! read more

I have been to this outback several times and it seems like it's getting worse. Why would it take almost 30 mins for a bowl of clam chowder and a pecan salad then you forget to put the pecans on it. The floor was dirty at our both we asked for it to be swept and it never happened. This location sucks and I will never come back in 2015 I will try them again next year read more
