The restaurant was relatively empty at around 4pm, I ordered a simple meal nothing outrageous but it took over 10 minutes for anyone to even greet me which I let slide , then it took a turn when I told my server that I was getting up to use the restroom.. my entire table was cleared and I was only gone 5 minutes and I communicated this.She blamed the bus boy. They were running this 3 course special where u can get an salad, entree and dessert for on 14.99!! I was sold. The salad was fresh! My entire of coconut shrimp was actually pretty tasty! I paired it with a baked potato! The star of the show was the cheesecake with raspberry sauce! It was creamy and light!!!! The sauce was not too sweet, extremely good! My husband and I go to outback all the time we love the food and it never disappoints but the two front desk girls working 2 weeks ago around 7 to 9 pm were awful. We asked to be seated since I have a stroller and a newborn they couldn't accommodate. Or better yet wouldn't because there were about 30 open seats. I asked them if they can try we were starving and my husband and I were moving all day and exhausted. They didn't want to help us at all. I got the feeling the girls were just being mean and unhelpful. When I was on my way out I noticed about 30 open seats - a few that could easily accommodate a stroller. Truly just came here because we had gift cards. Once we were seated, they gave us complimentary bread and butter. The butter was unsalted and not that great. I got a French onion soup and it was not good at all. It was half melted and just wasn't right. For my entree I got a shrimp Cesar salad. I don't know where to start, the shrimp was inedible. I literally put it all in a corner and covered it with my napkin. The lettuce itself was soggy and almost inedible as well. The dressing was way too much. My boyfriend got the surf and turf and he ate it but the quality just wasn't there. I didn't wanna send anything back because honestly I just didn't want to try anything else. That wedge salad was the best part of this visit. The salad was a 5. The 2 stars is for the opening experience. We get there, and the place is pretty empty. Not many people at all. We waited a good 10 minutes for the hostess to come over and seat the people who were waiting before us. She wasn't running around doing anything in particular. Just here and there and ignoring us waiting. Then she goes off and seats then and spends another 5 minutes spraying a different table while we wait. What I fail to understand is why when the restaurant is not packed she isn't seating the patrons first, then cleaning off tables or putzing around doing whatever else she was doing. Every story has a beginning, so let's start there. We reserved our time online. I really went to the website at 3pm and said we would be there at 6:30pm with 5 people. When we arrived there was a zero wait. Social distancing is being enforced. There wasn't anyone in the vicinity of our table. The wings, my kids devoured before I could get to them. For dinner, I got the Melbourne Porter with creamed spinach and steakhouse Mac n Cheese(which was VERY good as well). The steak was cooked perfect and very flavorful. I was extremely happy with it and extremely stuffed. My wife got the Bloomin Chicken which is a chicken breast coated with the Bloomin onion batter. She said it was "ok". Our oldest son got a burger and seemed happy with it. Our middle son got the grilled chicken on the barbie and it was VERY dry. However, they had a new one out to him within 3 minutes and it was perfect. Our youngest had the 6 ounce filet and he loved it. Service was beyond exceptional. This is my third time coming here. I recommended this place to my friends so all 6 of us went. First two times went well. But everything that could've went wrong, went wrong today. 5/6 of us all had upset stomachs. Two of us threw up when we got home. And I'm mainly writing this as it's 4 am and my stomach still hasn't recovered yet. The service was bad as well. The lady forgot some of our sides, our drinks and when we wanted bread we didn't get them until we asked again. My lobster was really bad, I had a very small lobster, ate the first half, then I started getting a fishy taste and smell. Started eating the second half and I spit it out. I complained to the server that brought out another person and then the server said "well you ate it, didn't you?" And the man she brought out agreed. I didn't come to argue or even get a refund. I just wanted to give out a concern about the food, but they got so defensive so fast. And why would I spit out the other half of a lobster if there was nothing wrong with it? It's just so hard to believe how good this place was the other two times I ate here. But today was just my worst experience. I was in the area and hadn't had Outback for years so I decided to order takeout on the app. This is not the fault of the restaurant, but the app made me "verify" myself despite my password with a code. It kept saying I entered the code wrong. After the first unsuccessful try, I showed it to someone else & it was the right code but still didn't work. Guess 3rd times the charm cause it finally went thru. I placed the order for a Prime Rib sandwich because I had seen a reviewer say it was so good. The app asked for my info for curbside delivery & I gave it. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, the curbside area (& part of the garage area) was cordoned off for construction. It was not clear where I was supposed to park or pull in for pickup. They could have put up a sign directing people but didn't. After driving around the block. I parked in the office parking across the side street & went in the front door. I told the man at the host station I was there to pick up my order. He told me to walk to the back of the restaurant, down the hall & ring the bell. You would think they might bring the food up to the host station if curbside was blocked as most people would enter the main door but they didn't. I found the "pickup" area but couldn't find a bell. I knocked on the door to the kitchen that said "no entry". I saw people inside but was ignored. I knocked louder & even knocked on the plexiglass window. Two people literally walked by, looked at me thru the window & walked away. I finally opened the door & yelled "HELLO" twice before someone finally showed up. They went back and got my food & I left. (I had groceries, including frozen and refrigerated items in my car so I didn't appreciate being ignored). When I got home I unpacked the sandwich. It comes with au jus. They literally gave me a container that was less than 1/3 full of the au jus. The sandwich was gross. The "prime rib" was over cooked, dry and like shoe leather. (They never asked when I ordered online how I'd like the prime rib. I was always taught it's usually served rare to medium rare which was fine with me. This was well done). The best part of the order was they included some of the Outback bread. But the bread wasn't worth $22. The place was deserted. I didn't see another customer in the restaurant. This was around 2:45pm so might have been after the lunch crowd & before the after work/dinner crowd but still..... Like I said, I hadn't had Outback in many years but I used to be a frequent customer. I will DEFINITELY not be going back to that specific restaurant and I probably won't be going back again for many years, if ever. read more

I must say I was thinking about whether or not the food would be fresh . We ordered an 8oz steak with rice and sweet potato And the grilled salmon with asparagus and mashed potato . Quick overnight in Secaucus on a Saturday. We arrived late And weren't sure where to eat but saw Outback decided to give it a try. We were seated in a booth right away. Our waitress, Blanca, was friendly and did a nice job. Our order took a really long time in the kitchen. I don't blame her as she gave us updates, apologized, and told us they were just behind. She brings this from 3 to 4 stars. When our meal finally came out, the filets were cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The veggies were good and crisp. The fries, creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes were all pretty good. Only disappointment was the shrimp on the barbie. The shrimp were under cooked. I was there on Mother's Day. My son made a reservation for us. When we got there it was very crowded waiting to be seated. My son announced his name and the waitress instantly came over and seated us. The waiter was pleasant and courteous and asked us what we wanted And we ordered appetizers (chicken wings, mozzarella sticks and a garden salad for me and the brown bread was already placed on the table. We ordered our main course also! The appetizers were so delicious & plentiful! The manager and the waiter were very attentive in letting us know that the main course was going to be longer than usual because of the crowd. So, my son and I said we wanted to take it home. Secondly, as with many other places during these times 'post' COVID the place was half empty most likely due to the fact it is impossible for some places to find service people to staff up to capacity. Getting past all of that the food is what I remember it to be. The blooming onion is still good (though perhaps a little too salty) and I was surprised it did not bother my stomach later!
