Really really really satisfied. If you are looking for a comfy experience away from home, this might be it. I suspect a lot of people want some 5 star hotel for nothing, but this is more like a BnB feeling. That's not everyone's jam, but it is mine. The employees were really nice, the amenities are better than the so-called 4 star hotel I stayed in last week in Las Vegas; it was conveniently located and it wasn't expensive at all. We just spent 2 nights here. Decided to extend our stay in mammoth and found this place. The front office staff was very helpful the young guy helped us book our room last min and was super kind. We have a dog and they were very pet friendly. The rooms were clean and that is most important to me. The air was a great treat as it was a very warm weekend up there. Internet and tv seemed to work just fine. There is a nice fire pit and chairs out in the courtyard in the evenings it was very enjoyable. Met some neat people. They have a wine bar and The Sommelier Chip was such a treat to chat with. Very in tuned with all things wine. It was fun learning some new things and drinking some yummy wine! Bar Sierra is also on property right next door. Stacy is a sweetheart and runs the restaurant. We had the pita app, strawberry feta spinach salad added chicken and we had the rib plate they were all very good. The bartender Sandra is a hoot. She was a blast to chat with. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will def stay here again. read more

Edited: Stayed in a fireplace suite. Zero hot water first night, fireplace didn't work. Keep getting kicked off WiFi. Left over food in the microwave from the guests before us. Stains on walls. Thankfully, Jason helped us out , he's fantastic!!!, and turned our experience around. However, Our new room has no wall decor and the bath tub was broken, so again had to get that fixed. Kitchenette wasn't fully stocked like our last room. Idk. This place is cute and nice when things are working, it's clearly half finished. Wonderful rooms. Very clean. Bathrooms and showers are lovely. Very well styled. Fireplace in room was so cozy and warm. Parking was not an issue. Place has a heated pool and hot-tub. Lobby is beautiful and there is a large fireplace inside with seating on three sides for socializing. A wine bar is also located in the lobby. Staff were all friendly and welcoming of dogs. We stayed 4 nights and used the workout room and washer and dryer (take credit or debit card so no quarters required) the only thing i did not care for is the in room complementary coffee comes in the form of tea bags which at first i thought was a great idea and excited to try. But coffee was horrible. Luckily some brewed coffee was free in lobby almost every morning. Robes were wonderful when stepping out of the shower. My dog was given a treat bag and poop sacks. There are onsite dog poop stations with bags as well. Would definitely stay here again. read more

I am astonished at the customer service I received just by trying to call and make a reservation. A woman answered the phone and I inquired about a queen room to which she quoted me $850. I told her I found the same room on booking.com for $513 and she advised me to take that deal. Then, before I hung up, she said "ok I will give you that price". I thanked her and began to give her my information. I told her that the room I was quoted for online was a king room and wanted to make sure she could still honor the price. She began to yell at me that they did not have king rooms available to which my response was that I just wanted to make sure the price was still honorable. She hung up the phone. I call back, no answer. I use my husband's phone to call back and she answers. She begins to tell me that she doesn't know who I am and will not allow me to speak to a manager. We will NOT be staying here, nor recommending it to anyone. read more

Absolutely the very worst experience I have ever had in a motel. The fireplace didn't work. The heater didn't work. Central air didn't work. The computer system was down. I waited in the lobby for 2 hours while the management tried to figure out the computer problem. So I was stuck in a cold room with a child. I feel taking advantage of. YOU ARE BETTER OFF STAYING SOMEWHERE ELSE! Stayed here on July 28-29th. We understood there are renovations happening, but below are the most basic expectations (we didn't even use amenities). First impression was great because of the room. That was it though. Thoroughly unhappy with everything else. - TV didn't work - No Wi-Fi so we couldn't enjoy functions of TV and had to use our own cell data. - No hot water - Room phone didn't work - Bar staff was extremely unprofessional. They were mad about something, possibly management. They took it out on the customers. We had to seat ourselves and eventually got up to ask for menus because nobody approached us for quite some time. (More about that below) - I ended up getting a refund from hotels.com, however, I noticed a charge on my credit card statement from the resort directly. I did not use my credit card any other time during my stay and my fiancé paid at the bar with his credit card. The only thing I could think of is that they would put a hold on my card for incidentals at check-in. But because there were no damages to the room, the hold should not even have processed or have been charged. I tried multiple days to call the resort to ask about more details on this charge, but their phone number online does not even go through! It's impossible to get a hold of anyone here! This was supposed to be the cherry on the top for a special weekend. We understand that people have bad days, but we try to get away from ours too. You just can't have bad days in the service industry. Here's more details on our dine in experience at the bar: We had dinner at the restaurant, Bar Sierra, and because the bartenders were unhappy at management, they took it out on the customers. We stood at the bar for a long time before any of the 4 bartenders even looked at us and there were only 3-4 other customers seated and already taken care of. I had to ask the guy with the man bun if they were open since they obviously didn't care to pay attention. He had an attitude problem and was not professional. The lady bartender ended up going outside and sitting at one of the tables to eat and drink with friends. This doesn't really seem like a business, but more of a hangout spot for the staff and their friends. If the staff is unhappy with management, maybe they shouldn't work there because it's bringing down the potential of this establishment with their poor attitude. read more

I loved the hotel, and the experience, but I really want to highlight a staff member - Debby Hildebrand. I had no intention of staying here as I was driving from Vegas to Reno, but got stuck here in a snowstorm. Debby went OUT OF HER WAY to help me, including making sure my dog Peanut got treats. She kept checking the weather/roads for me the next day. She offered late checkout. But the icing on the cake - the following morning, she offered to take me to a local thrift store in her personal vehicle so that I could find chains for my car and save money (I have a Mustang, no chains, and don't know how to put them on). She knew exactly how to help me find the right ones, I saved a TON of money by going to the thrift store too! Then when she told me I needed to have some cash to pay the "chain monkeys" to put them on if needed, I asked where the closest bank was so I could withdrawal some cash. She opened up her wallet and gave me cash so that I didn't have to go to the bank!! (Don't worry, I venmoed her back). Debby was LITERALLY my angel during this stay, and in the crazy weather circumstances, I don't know how I would have gotten home without her. I travel about 50% of my life, and I don't think I've ever had an employee at a hotel be that amazing to me! If I could give her 10 stars I would. Debby is the BESTTTTTT!!!!! read more

What a frustrating stay... Outside of the current construction going on that practically makes this place inhabitable (not enough parking, walkways blocked, noise, etc) the updates they've done aren't worth the hassle. I was lucky enough to stay in an "updated" room and it was lacking. The shower fixtures had been updated, but not properly installed. Not to mention that I had to bend over as a 5'10 person to fit my head under the shower head. The tub was also still filthy. Also, the wifi is unfortunately not functional. And signal in Mammoth Lakes is also non existent. So good luck... Maybe once this place finishes the construction they'll be a little better...but it seems like the updates aren't worth the gamble. read more

Never did get to stay here. Fernando in reservations booked us in Tucson Arizona instead of Mammoth Lakes California and didn't send a confirmation. After 3 hours on the phone with these folks we found out about Tucson. "Sorry for the inconvenience" was all we got. If we had just shown up we would not have had a place to stay and would have been charged for not showing up in Tucson. Then they called at 7am this morning to tell us that they couldn't do anything about it and we would have to pay the internet rate. I asked if she knew it was before 8am and she said oops I thought you were on the east coast. This business is a bummer. read more

3 night stay at a nice spacious room. I would definitely stay here again. From other guest, it was recently renovated. Came with a mini fridge and microwave. All of the guest really enjoyed the robes that were available, and wore them when walking to the hot tub which was hot and clean (pool was also heated, but didn't go in). There was a dj playing by the pool and the hot tub was packed with party-goers at 8 pm on a Saturday. There's a restaurant right next door (Bar Sierra), which is convenient and Black Tie Ski Rental company picks up your rentals at a rack by the lobby. They also had a indoor fireplace with board games which was cool. There's a free red and teal bus across the street, that'll take you into the Mammoth mountain village. Negatives - No housekeeping throughout our stay. I was hoping for the bed to be made and trash to be taken out but that never happened - Lobby knocks on your door loudly at 10:30 to ensure you're leaving at checkout time, even though we paid extra for a late checkout - 1 ply toilet paper - The map is sort of like a maze with many staircases, difficult to find the sauna and steam room - If you stay on the first floor, you can hear all the footsteps (however, easier to stay on the first floor than figure out the 2nd floor maze) - The steam room wasn't working - Room was freezing cold when we got there and took hours to warm up once we turned the heat on read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. I'm sitting in my room currently with no WiFi, no working TV, and last night the AC sounded like the fan was coming off of it. Went to the front desk and after spending $550 for 2 nights in the off season, all they are willing to do is refund the $55 resort fee. They switched our rooms earlier for a room that had a working TV... It worked for 15 minutes Also, the pillows feel like they are from a hospital and the bed feels like a piece of foam on plywood. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY DOUBLE CHARGED ME. I booked on Hotel Tonight for July 4th weekend back in June. Then I check in and get charged again, thinking it was the charge for having dogs. They charged the whole booking again! I've tried calling them for over a month now, and it's always a busy tone. No redirect to a voicemail. Literally impossible to get ahold of them to reverse their charges. In addition, yes Wi-Fi is offered but it's non-existent and doesn't work. Verizon network has no service and T-mobile is very slow. If I could give this place negative points I would. Where do I start. First, they charge a resort fee....except it isn't a resort. We were there last weekend and saw the website had listed updated rooms for 2022. In the picture, it shows hardwood floors...they are not. Our first room had a huge crack going down half the wall. Website showed a pool table in the lobby area which they took out, they no longer had a spa which I planned on using, they took out the pool and hot tub, and the restaurants weren't open. The ice machine had more dust than a car that hadn't been washed in 8 months. Pictures to follow. The phone had no jack so we couldn't even reach the front desk. Our deadbolt in the room didn't work. These are just a few things. Attached are just a FEW pictures of how gross it is Especially for almost $600 a night. To add, while we were checking in, someone was complaining about their toilet breaking on them for the 3rd time...that day! If you're looking for a luxurious and stress-free stay in Mammoth, I suggest you stay as FAR AWAY from Sierra Nevada Resort as possible. In my experience, this establishment has shown nothing but incompetence and disregard for its customers. Despite booking in advance and receiving confirmation of my booking after payment in full, I was informed less than 48 hours before my arrival that my booking had been cancelled due to them being 'fully booked'. Meanwhile, rooms were still available for booking online across various trusted 3rd party platforms, and their own website showing other room options available, despite the resort being "fully booked". It's clear that Sierra Nevada Resort either has no problem lying to its customers, or their entire booking system is highly inadequate and a total sham! As someone who travels to Mammoth regularly for work and leisure, I've been left in a tough spot having to scramble to find alternate accommodations at the last minute, spending 3 hours finding alternative suitable options and an additional $1000 in the process. This kind of disregard for customers is unacceptable and completely unprofessional. If you value your time and money, I suggest that you stay far away from Sierra Nevada Resort. Especially - don't make the mistake of booking through a third-party website, even your most trusted one .... Likely you'll be left out in the cold, and out of pocket! Update: Brent reached out via my social DM's to look into why my room was cancelled - despite them actually not being fully booked after all. He offered to book me a replacement king room for the double queen I'd booked, but alas ...all a little too late since I had to scramble desperately and pay above the odds for an alternative option within hours leaving home for my trip. read more

Stayed here twice during this record 2023 season (once in March and then June). This place is a gem. It is reasonably priced for Mammoth, especially on weekdays and late season. The rooms are nothing fancy, but they are clean and tastefully decorated. The sauna is great. Location is very convenient. One time I checked in late at night and the parking lot was full, so Julie at the front desk moved her car to open up a space for me to park. Overall, I have no complaints about this place and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality hotel in Mammoth. read more

My second stay at the Resort, first stay since renovation. A gorgeous facelift! We especially loved the Fireside Suite. The suite had a well stocked kitchenette, heated bathroom floors and toilet seat, comfy leather chairs in front of the private fire, two shower heads (rain and traditional), and a large soaking tub. The value was exceptional. Also I loved that the facility has coin laundry ($3 wash, $1 for 40 min drier cycle, of which I needed two cycles to get everything adequately dry), to get my ski base layers squaky clean. Be sure to bring quarters as they don't have a change machine yet. Lastly, the manager, Kassandra, was great. Despite our complex blizzard needs, she was readily accommodating and made what could have been a very stressful situation, quite enjoyable. With such a great option for stay, we will absolutely be back. read more

I had been coming to this hotel for about 5 years now. I was even notified about the renovation on my last trip late winter of 2021. This was my first time staying since the new renovation, and it will definitely be my last. Check in was fine no problem, the nice warm fireplace in the lobby is still there, but they removed the pool table. Parking is bad on a busy weekend, they have an extra lot on the other side where a restaurant use to be, but with heavy snow there is no paved way direct to the hotel. So you have to back track back out the way you drive in to the lot. Here is my biggest gripe about the hotel. NO HOT water coming out the shower. When I go to the front desk and speak to both Ana and Bruno, they look at me like I'm crazy and way you have to pull on both levers as it's so simple. After trying and pulling so hard I feel as though I'm going to break the handles, I call front desk to please have someone come and show me. The man that shows up also doesn't know anything and says he deals with plumbing issues like clogs etc. The lack of sympathy and indifference from the staff made me feel like they could care less. If your looking for a place with a nice fireplace, No customer service from the staff and all the cold water you want for the showers this is your place. But with cold temperatures After a day on the mountain to come back to that, I'd save my money. Spend it elsewhere. This place was better before, it must be the new management. read more

Unfortunately I had a reservation at Outbound that I needed to cancel because I was sick. I was assured by the reservations agent that I did cancel on time and that I would not be charged. However, I received a charge of $513.73 I have called about this issue 2 times and I have also filled out a message on the website to report this issue (did not receive an email back). I also emailed and attached the cancellation record. The reservation person said they saw that I should not have been charged and they sent a message to headquarters to call me (but I have not received a call back). I also called and left a message myself (did not receive a call back) It has almost been a month since my charge. Can you please respond to my email and let me know the status of this? I can appreciate how a guests may have had a particular issue with a service or whatever. To be blunt, the service and the room with the fresh cut flowers, I experienced from the initial reservation call to our stay at Sierra Nevada is Top-Tier! In fact, the Front Desk Manager (Burna (I hope I spelled her name correctly)), was seriously patient with me and the service requests. Plus, the additional staff, (room attendants) were conscientious, professional, polite, timely and equally important during these times - practice protection from COVID-19. Decent place, my favorite feature was the ski shuttle directly across the street. And plenty of good stuff within walking distance (margaritas, gluten free pancakes) Location is great, bed was reasonably comfortable. Clean, updated bathroom. Due to the snow piled up in the parking lot the windows were covered and there was no natural light in the room. I called it our snow cave. Kind of a 70s vibe with a cool fireplace in the lobby, which is a nice place to après. The restaurant is not open, even tho they make a big deal about it. read more

I was apprehensive based on reviews, but we stayed for 3 nights last weekend in a 2 bedroom apt/villa and had a very good experience. It was clean and comfortable, we did have an issue that the AC leaked overnight and all of our clothing got wet but that was just one of those things that happen sometimes. Went there about a month ago and the house keeper came in the room and grabbed bags that weren't trash and got rid of them. One of many things that we in the bags was my samsung smart watch. And when brought to their attention she denied taking anything other than their trash bags. Management said the will do an investigation and call me back. I gave them plenty of time and never hear anything from them. It was a nice place until items were taken. And one of the items were also my girlfriend nintendo. Horrible management and house keepers. I wouldn't suggest going there for anyone unless you want to take a chance to get things taken and never returned. Went there for an Andrew Bird concert. Just booking the place was difficult, as no one seemed to know that the room charge included the ticket. At check-in we were supposed to get a gift back as advertised on their flyers. Never received it. After reminding the front desk staff several times and always being told that they would "check", we gave up. Stayed in what looked like an older but hastily renovated cabin. The walls must be made from cardboard. The whole place was still a major construction site but will look decent when finished. Location is good. Fireplaces are a nice touch. read more
