Quaint little mom n pop shop. The place only has a couple tables and there's four tables outside that's dog friendly the owner even came out and brought our dog a treat. Came here for the first time with my son for lunch. I had the traditional pastrami sandwich and my son had the hamburger, both were excellent. The new owners, about 4 months in, are super friendly and very attentive, cool vibe to the place too. Will be back soon to get breakfast as everything list looked mouth-watering good. read more

If you're looking for a good old fashioned (pre-commercialized) coffee house with a small town feel, this is a place for you! If we lived closer, this would be my go-to! The ambiance is rustic small town and though it is small, I get the feeling that doesn't hinder them much. The coffee is delicious, the food very good and service friendly! They have a small kitchen but make delicious breakfasts and though we haven't tried their sandwiches, they look & sound pretty tasty. One of my favorite things about this place (besides the people & am ambiance) is that they support local vendors. They proudly serve Blind Dog Coffee, Waffle Envy (for liége waffles), and Truckee Sourdough breads. We sat outside under a wonderful canopy of trees and enjoyed the fresh air. I was looking for a good place to eat, and this place had a good rating, we walked in and were greeted right away. Staff was super friendly and helpful gave his suggestions of what to eat. The food was phenomenal and very filling they do not skimp on what they put into their burritos and sandwiches. I loved the decor I mean I would want a couple of those signs for my own place lol. Ordered a moondog iced latte that was very good and a caprice sandwich that was grilled (didn't say it in the menu) but I was so happy about. Sandwich comes with one side, choice of chili, potato salad, chips or salad... I ordered the salad with vinaigrette and it was lovely little salad. Sandwich was very tasty and fresh, the only complaint I would have would be there wasn't enough, if any balsamic on the sandwich. Highly recommended for coffee, cookies, muffins or a quick bite. A hole in the wall on the side of the road. Small business, local owners and plenty of regulars coming through this teensy spot. It oozed charm and a sense of community. Two people working. Both were pleasant but slightly frazzled. Food took a long time, there were several orders but we were the first of them. Noticed they do quite a bit of call-ahead pickups. So it can be busier than it looks. Coffee was just okay, kinda weak. And to whoever raved about the biscuits and gravy, maybe we hit an off day - but they were not good. Good things come in small packages! This is a very small cafe/restaurant. It's a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch including pastries, snacks, beer & wine and many favorite latte flavors! It looks like a local favorite. It has a counter with bar stools and 3-people table seatings. I'm not sure but the maximum seating occupancy may be just a total of 15 guests all in all, if I counted correctly. Breakfast plates and scrambles come with choice of toast or may substitute for a Liege waffle for an additional $1.75 instead of toast. They also have a few choices of breakfast burritos. Lunch items, including sandwiches and burgers, come with a pickle spear and choice of side. The sides aren't listed on their menu so may need to ask what's available. I had the Breakfast Plate. Can't go wrong with classic 2-eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. Yummy and filling! The husband and wife team that ran the restaurant (Bruce & Ann Harter) were super nice and friendly and made patrons really feel welcomed. We stayed at Boomtown Reno overnight and wanted to try another brunch place to eat aside from their in-house Original Mel's and found this small cafe which was about 2 miles away, the driving directions took us to the backroads. With only 15 people that could accommodate the inside the cafe can fill up pretty quickly but I noticed that there is an outdoor seating available during warmer weather days. Pay attention to the wall signs and decors inside and you will find some of them interesting and funny. It is located off the beaten path... glad to find this little hidden gem through Yelp! It's an 'R' rated themed gun cafe. Not for children unless you want your kids to be immersed in guns and gun culture. Multiple guns, gun shakers, gun posters, gun warning signs, destain for politicians related to guns and of course, 2nd amendment excitement jargon. The food's good (8/10). More emphasis needs to be on making the coffee stronger. If guns are your thing, I would definitely pull the trigger. If it's strong coffee you're after, I would seek higher grounds. read more

I hoped to write a rave review, but unfortunately, that won't happen. My wife and I went to the Outlaw Cafe last Saturday. The place was busy, but the gentleman working the counter quickly acknowledged me and said he would be with me shortly. After a few minutes, he took my order. My wife and I ordered Eggs over easy, Bacon, Potatoes, and toast. After waiting what seemed like an eternity, we were greeted by a pleasant lady who served us our meals. Unfortunately, the meals were not good. If I owned the restaurant or were the cook, I would not have served the meals. The eggs were far from over easy and leaned more to over hard. The potatoes were tasty, but the portion was very small. Lastly, the bacon was overcooked and came in shredded pieces of a slice vs. an actual slice. I hope it was an off day for the Outlaw and that I can convince my wife to someday give it another try. For now, we will continue our patronage of the Sasquatch and Chop 40, where we have enjoyed excellent service and great food. read more

It's not fancy, it's the kind of place that brings me back to my farm days because it's a hole in the wall with LOTS of character and it's not for everyone.
