Sasquatch Tavern is such a gem! Parking right outside, plus the patio is open for summer, which makes it such a fun spot to hang out. The drinks are STRONG, and the food portions are absolutely massive especially considering how reasonable the prices are! We were so excited to celebrate my husband's birthday here, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. And you HAVE to love the decor it's quirky, fun, and totally fits the "come as you are" vibe. They also serve breakfast, so you can easily make this a morning stop or come by later for drinks and a big meal. Great drinks, huge portions, reasonable prices, welcoming staff, and an atmosphere that doesn't take itself too seriously. Definitely a place we'll be back to! read more

I've been here to the Sasquatch Grill here in Verdi lots of time over the years. Mostly on my way towards or leaving the Reno area on the 80. This time I'm here with my crew that I met up with in Sacramento on our way on 80 East heading towards Salt Lake City. This is gonna be a long drive but it beats flying with 5 people and all the gear we carry. WE pull into Sasquatch and go in. We get a table in the middle of the room. The inside looks just like it always did with that Sasquatch statue standing there. The service is super friendly and we all order drinks. No beer this time, we're all on the road and some of us gotta drive. I decide to get something different this time, the steamed clams. My guys get 2 of the steak sandwiches, one gets fish and chips and the one other girl on the crew gets a chicken salad of some sort. The food arrives in a decent amount of time. My clams look delicious, though I thought the clams were on the small side, but there were a lot of them. The steak sandwiches looked good as usual as did the fish and chips. Next time I think I might go back to the steak sandwich. The clams really didn't fill me up, but I got some fries off one of the guys. Sasquatch is still on my list of best places to stop to eat when traveling the 80 near Reno. read more

My first time trying Sasquatch as i found myself on that side of town and it was conveneient. I went for lunch and there was ample parking and seating indoors although the space isn't large and space filled up by the time i left. The ambiance is kind of hole-in-the-wall with a focus on big foot, of course. I liked it. Eclectic but cool. Service was great and i ordered fish tacos and side of onion rings. There were many good things i saw on the menu but wanted a little lighter lunch and ordered fish. The fish was good with a light batter but the taco garnish didn't fit the bill. There was way too much pico and white sauce, with not a lot of flavor. But the big detractor was the layer of cheddar cheese on the bottom. Cheese, in general, does not pair well with fish but definitely not a yellow cheese. The strong cheese taste overpowered the fish. I think they need to alter their tacos based on the protein. The heavy cheese and pico might work with chicken or pork but a more citrus based slaw is needed for fish. The helping of three tacos was generous and i did finish it but by the end i had to scrape the cheese and most of the pico out. The onion rings were a soft and heavy batter. I prefer a very light batter that crisps up in the fryer so i left half the order uneaten. I would not order the fish tacos again and would probably pivot to fish n chips. That said i will visit again and try some of the other menu items that looked really good to me. That will likely improve this rating. read more

My friend, Angela F and I meet up once a month for a lunch date. For March, we decided on making the trek out to Verdi to sample the fare at Sasquach Tavern and Grill. This was a first time for her. My husband and I had eaten here a few years ago on our way home from California. So worth the return visit. Luckily, we got there early. The space is very small and very popular so it gets filled up quickly. We were greeted upon walking in and were seated in a large but cozy booth. Jessica, our fabulous waitperson, made us feel welcome and provided excellent service from beginning to end. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap. My friend ordered the Rib Eye Sandwich. Both came with fries. The portions were HUGE! I was barely able to get through half of it. We appreciated take-home boxes filled with another meal (or two) later on. There was a bit of a wait on getting our food, but the place is small, busy, and I assume they have a small kitchen. This one of those places worth a return visit. read more

We had heard good things about Sasquatch's in Verdi and we weren't disappointed. I had their fish (cod) and chips and my wife had the Sasquatch burger; both are house specialties. My plate had a generous 4 pieces of nicely batted fish and the fries were great. My wife's burger looked great too. We both said we'd come back again. Not knowing what to expect, I was surprised that it has a dimly lite bar and small dining area, but locals had the bar well occupied while we had one other couple enjoying the cuisine. Only one waitress at lunchtime. But she was really good. Small place, tends to get crowded at dinner (I was told by a friend). We arrived early for lunch and there was still one booth and one table for two available. There were also two tables for 6. By the time we left, it was pretty busy. I opted for the blackened rib eye sandwich. I asked for medium rare, I got medium rare. Sandwich was way too much for me to eat. Took half home for dinner. Nancy opted for the Chicken Wrap .. also took half of it home. Funky little place with a full sized Sasquatch for decor. Food was excellent. Would definitely go back to try other options. We've been to Sasquatch twice and each time we loved the service and the food. It's a smaller establishment but they can surprisingly fit large parties. The interior is warm, inviting and they have a fire place that's keeps you nice and warm if you sit next to it. This time around I had a grilled chicken salad. It was huge and I definitely had left overs. The veggies were nice and fresh and had a wonderful crunch to them. We had a great experience here and will certainly be back. We had a larger group and they accommodated us right away. I tried their old fashioned which was very good. I ordered their Sweet'n Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich that is crispy buttermilk fried chicken tossed in their secret hot honey sauce with sweet butter chips, lettuce, and tomatoes served on a bun. It was tasty, messy, but tasty. The restaurant itself is smaller inside with a few booths and tables centered to accommodate larger groups if needed. Breakfast (opens at 9) has healthy choices and hearty comfort foods. We have been in several times and prefer coming for lunch and have never had a bad meal. The rib-eye sandwich, Fusili Chicken Pasta, and the lobster rolls are favorites. The place is a hole in the wall type of local favorite. The atmosphere and decor are rustic and exactly what you should expect given the name Sasquatch Tavern. The service never disappoints. Biggest question is it worth the drive? Wow, how did I miss reviewing one of my favorite hidden gems? Legend states the best burger you will have in northern Nevada is in a little hole in the wall in Verdi, tucked among the pine trees of this small mountain town. The first time I went here, it was after buying powerball tickets at the border. On the way back, I glanced and saw the name and knew I had to stop. This bar has an old school divey vibe, nice and dark with wooden fixtures. The service is good and fast and friendly. The prime rib dip is one of the best sandwiches you will find around Reno. Tender slices of medium rare prime rib tucked into a roll, I'm salivating just thinking about it. If I don't get that, I get their burger with blue cheese. Almost too big to fit in one's mouth, almost. The fries are always perfect as well. It's too bad that it's a bit of a drive or I would be out here every weekend. Instead I save it as a treat for the odd times I find myself in Verdi. It's worth the trip in any case, definitely lives up to the hype! read more

When I heard about a Sasquatch themed restaurant I knew I had to go. I am so glad I did. This hidden little gem in Verdi has amazing food, a fun ambiance, and great staff. It is a small place and gets busy. We waited about 15 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The staff is very friendly and the food was great. I had the Teriyaki burger with the salad and it tasted amazing. My son had the fish and chips. He said they were cooked perfectly, not greasy like they sometimes can be. My daughter had the Sweet and Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich and really enjoyed it. The portions were very large and the price was actually very reasonable. Came here for an early dinner and there wasn't a wait on a Friday. We got a booth, and they have crayons for the kids menu too. This place has good reviews since way back and I will say it is still great today. The calamari has a unique dipping sauce with mushrooms. The stroganoff was rich and plentiful. First time I'd ever tried this place and it was wonderful. They have a varied menu with everything from appetizers to burgers, salads, and dinner entrées. I had the fried calamari and a Caesar salad, and both were excellent. The calamari comes with a Dijon mustard sauce that has mushrooms mixed in and it was wonderful. Servers are friendly, patient, and willing to help explain anything on the menu. Prices are reasonable. Our plan to return to try other options from their menu. My friends enjoyed and loved the taste of the grilled burgers, onion rings and French fries. My family and I went to Boomtown and stopped at the Sasquatch Tavern & Grill for lunch on a Monday afternoon. The space is funky and inviting for people of all ages. We had Rosie as our server and she was fantastic!! We had 4 adults and 1 kiddo in our party and everyone loved their meals. I went to Sasquatch for the first time last week. I chose this restaurant because my girlfriend is annoyingly into Sasquatch themed items and gimmicky trinkets. She loved the environment and low lighting and gigantic man sized sasquatch sculpture. Me on the other hand could not care less but I appreciated that she enjoyed it.
