I ordered the breakfast enchiladas plate this time and although I found the chorizo from the enchiladas to be overly salty I still enjoyed the experience at Sparks Coffee Shop. The service is wonderful! I observed the staff zooming around taking great care of all the customers. The coffee is hot and tasty and from my last visit I know there are food options that are delicious! I look forward to another visit and highly recommend!

Quality/Quantity - Last get together before we all start our next trips! Sadly, not together... Safe travels everyone. Today, our group got the following and all of which were good! Sante Fe Salad - For the healthy eater. Chili Relleno. Special Crunch Berry French Toast - My wife's dish and my recommendation for her. Home run among the ladies. My generous wife shared with everyone, otherwise she could have gotten two meals out of her brunch. Carnitas Huevos Rancheros - All the men got this dish. One with no cheese, one with cheese on the side, and mine made the way it is supposed to come! Ambiance - Decent size location Plus it was very spacious. Table, booth, and bar seating. Private room available. Open 6 days a week from 8am to 2pm; closed on Sundays. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Good. We closed the place and were never rushed to leave. But of course, we try to be respectful and leave at their posted close time. Price - $140, reasonably priced, especially for the quality of food. Well, I got two meals out of my dish, so a really good deal, lol. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2011 and with your two locations. Not that I enjoy going to Southern Cal, but next time I am there, I will visit that location.

The breakfast beverages were creamy and sweet. I had a vanilla latte and my husband got a chai latte. We always order the crunchy French toast when we come in, we also had the Chilaquiles verdes and they were amazingly savory. My husband got the huevos Mexicanos with biscuits and gravy. We never leave here disappointed and this is one of our favorite breakfast places in Reno. The service is always great.

Really enjoy this restaurant. Clean and friendly, great place for breakfast and lunch. Had the crunch Berry French Toast today, was amazing with lot of Berries and a drizzle of Carmel.

Yes most definitely recommend! My husband surprised me by taking me to eat breakfast. Smelled so good as soon as we walked in. Was pretty busy but we got a seat at the bar. The service was excellent from beginning to end. We shared the carne asada chilaquiles . Serving was huge, even split in half. So much meat, my husband was so impressed. We had a Birds Eye view from our seats & everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. We will definitely go back on our next trip (we are from Elk Grove, CA). Restaurant is very clean!

I visited this establishment for breakfast. This is the third time I have eaten here and find their food to be amazing. I want to comment on the chile relleno breakfast. It was not the traditional stuffed chile dipped in a fluffy egg white batter. This was a stuffed pepper, delicious but with a thin flat egg topping the chile. I was disappointed in the presentation and taste. The sauce tasted like tomato paste with chile powder. The beans had a nice smokey flavor. Service was top notch, moving amazingly fast considering how busy it was In the dining room. The atmosphere was a typical cafe style and very clean. My friend had the chorizo meal. We each had coffee at $4.50 a cup. It was about $49 for the entire meal not counting tip.

This place is clean, fast and friendly with a menu that may leave you second guessing your decision... in a good way. This time around I went with the carne asada breakfast plate, a full and hearty mean with beans, 2 eggs, hash browns and a nice big piece of perfectly cooled carne asada. Extra props for leaving a carafe of coffee at the table as well. The only problem I've ever run into here would be that at times the wait can be 45 minutes or more, a sign of a strong local restaurant. And while that is longer than I ever wish to wait, we occasionally need to have a plan B ready during peak times.

Hubby and I came in for an impromptu brunch date since we were hungry and in the area. I looked up restaurants near us, and this one popped up. What a gem it turned out to be! The restaurant is clean and modern, the staff were all wonderful and the food was superb! We got the eggs Benedict and chorizo sausage breakfast, and both were absolutely delicious! I can see why they have such great reviews and I will definitely be coming back!

I found a new hidden gem of a coffee shop. It's been here for years but I've never been here before. As soon as we sat down in our comfy booth, we were greeted with a friendly waitress. She immediately served us coffee with a pot to refill our cups! That's impressive! I ordered the Huevos Rancherous. My friend ordered the sausage and egg platter. The portions are enormous!! My Huevos Rancherous was cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of spice, guacamole, refried beans, corn tortillas with a sprinkle of cueso fresco. Delicious! My friend loved her meal too! Looking forward to returning and trying different dishes on the menu!

Carne asada breakfast and Steak Benedict
    Roy M.

Sparks Coffee Shop is easily one of the top breakfast spots in town. It's a Mexican-American breakfast place with really solid quality food and very fulfilling portions. My wife ordered the steak Benedict with asparagus -- the combination worked really well. I'd give it a solid 8/10. The steak was cooked nicely and paired great with the hollandaise and asparagus. I went with the carne asada breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The portion of meat was generous, the asada was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was on point. The service was good too, friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. My only small complaint is that the booth seating feels a little tight, I wish the chairs were a bit bigger for comfort. Other than that, everything was great. We'd definitely love to come back again. Highly recommend if you're looking for a satisfying breakfast in town!

Chilaquiles and French toast are a must every time. I always grab a mocha to go along with my meal! I recommend this to everyone!

We were pleasantly greeted & seated immediately, then just like that, our server (Ramon Jr) was at our table, took our drink order & answered a few questions. I'm glad I had perused the menu yesterday & pretty much knew what I wanted, my daughter ordered Ramon's Skillet & I had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs ( gravy on the side). Portions were huge. I was glad cuz I had been fasting due to a medical procedure. They know what they are doing in the kitchen, eggs were perfectly over medium w/ crispy edges just the way I like them. The chicken fried steak was really Milanese style, perfectly crispy like I'm used to in Mexico, I tasted the gravy & it was really good but once I realized it wasn't American style CFS, I asked our waiter for salsa & pico to put on top!!! Perfection!! I had a lot to tangle with on my own plate but my daughter & I swapped bites of each others dishes, hers came with soft tortillas, the bite I had melted in my mouth! Couldn't finish either plate so decided to take the rest to go. There are many items on the menu I want to try so we will definitely be back!

Sauce had slight lemony flavor. Crab cake was pretty thick. Giving it 3 of 5 stars. Joe's Scrambles did not skimp on ingredients. Scrambled eggs with ground beef, mushroom, bell peppers, onions and cheese. 4/5 stars. Came with your choice of potatoes, choice of toast and a wedge of cantaloupe. The French Toast came with eggs, bacon, and country sausage for additional $3. French Toast was standard but the country sausage was special. Two sausage patties that look like small hamburger patties; soo good. Best sausage I've had; combo of slight sweetness, saltiness and peppery. French toast was 3/5 but the Sausage patties were great; 5/5. Looked like they made them in house. Country potatoes side was good too. Good portion and we'll seasoned. We showed up around 10:00am and got a table right away. By the time it's 11:00am, there's a line. Staff were very nice and quick.

I did not know how it worked to find a table because there were no open tables or staff available. When we finally found a table to sit, there was no one to get us menus and the one staff we saw was busy helping a few other tables. We got frustrated so we left. I saw a couple other customers leave during that time as well. They really need more people working and I am surprised they have such high ratings. At the second location on Plumb Ln, they were crazy busy as well, but they had a manager managing to help speed up cleaning tables and finding tables that were empty for anyone that came in. It felt a lot more welcoming than the first location. As we were waiting, the interior is more modern and has high ceilings which makes it feel a lot more open and comfortable. The wait was about 20 minutes. Once we got a table, our server did not get our drink or food orders for a while. She was busy. I ordered the Fresh Mushroom and Spinach Omelet and it was good; however, everything else on the plate was not visually appetizing or tasted as good as the omelet. My boyfriend ordered the Hungry Man Waffle Combo which come with 2 waffles, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and 2 pieces of sausage. He did the get the sausage and was given 2 extra pieces of bacon instead. This is fine, but we wish someone notified him of the swap. Not sure why they did not have any more sausage either. Overall, I would not come back because both locations are out of the way, and the service and food was not at the level that makes me want to go back.

Obviously pre-batched scrambled egg patty with a pile of dry old and not hot chorizo folded into it. What a joke. I didn't complain but when the waitress asked if I wanted a box for it I said "no way". She walked away and in their defense, didn't charge me for the entree. But also she didn't ask anything, didn't offer any apology or even an explanation of the no-charge. Strange behavior. I'm guessing they get my reaction more than you can tell by reading the reviews here. No manager so speak of or see. Understaffed and underwhelming people. New ownership seems to be turn and burn mentality. Don't think I'll be headed to Bricks any time soon either as I understand he owns that now. If I had this experience in a storied "fine dining" establishment I would be furious. And despite getting my money back I'm still frustrated and disappointed. And I'm hungry!!
