I haven't been here for awhile and it's totally worth the wait as it gets very busy. Their food never disappoints. Their breakfast menu is tempting, but it was after Eleven A.M. and I was craving a hamburger bad. My friend who accompanied me wanted a plain cheese omelette, she is a very basic eater which is her choice to only order familiar food. Boring ! Anyway, beyond the food, the service was great and the staff is wonderful. I urge anyone who hasn't tried this place to definitely add it to your list, I'm certain it will become a favorite. The only complaint is that on this particular day the kitchen was short staffed and we did wait awhile for our food to arrive, but I'm patient with these kinds of things after working in the restaurant industry for many years. So the food arrived and my eyes popped out of my head when my burger arrived, the patty was meaty and the vegetables on the burger were fresh. I chose the Mushroom Swiss burger, Wow ! Every bite was delicious and the French Fries were so crisp and delicious. I filled my belly to its limit with this meal. Oh, and my friend's omelette was unbelievable it was so fluffy and it was served steaming, every bite steam kept rising from it, it's like nothing we had ever seen, unbelievable ! Private room available. Open 6 days a week from 8am to 2pm; closed on Sundays. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Good. We closed the place and were never rushed to leave. But of course, we try to be respectful and leave at their posted close time. Price - $140, reasonably priced, especially for the quality of food. Yes most definitely recommend! My husband surprised me by taking me to eat breakfast. Smelled so good as soon as we walked in. Was pretty busy but we got a seat at the bar. The service was excellent from beginning to end. We shared the carne asada chilaquiles . Serving was huge, even split in half. So much meat, my husband was so impressed. I visited this establishment for breakfast. This is the third time I have eaten here and find their food to be amazing. I want to comment on the chile relleno breakfast. It was not the traditional stuffed chile dipped in a fluffy egg white batter. This was a stuffed pepper, delicious but with a thin flat egg topping the chile. I was disappointed in the presentation and taste. The sauce tasted like tomato paste with chile powder. The beans had a nice smokey flavor. Service was top notch, moving amazingly fast considering how busy it was In the dining room. The atmosphere was a typical cafe style and very clean. My friend had the chorizo meal. This place is clean, fast and friendly with a menu that may leave you second guessing your decision... in a good way. This time around I went with the carne asada breakfast plate, a full and hearty mean with beans, 2 eggs, hash browns and a nice big piece of perfectly cooled carne asada. Extra props for leaving a carafe of coffee at the table as well. The only problem I've ever run into here would be that at times the wait can be 45 minutes or more, a sign of a strong local restaurant. I found a new hidden gem of a coffee shop. It's been here for years but I've never been here before. As soon as we sat down in our comfy booth, we were greeted with a friendly waitress. She immediately served us coffee with a pot to refill our cups! That's impressive! I ordered the Huevos Rancherous. My friend ordered the sausage and egg platter. The portions are enormous!! Sparks Coffee Shop is easily one of the top breakfast spots in town. It's a Mexican-American breakfast place with really solid quality food and very fulfilling portions. My wife ordered the steak Benedict with asparagus -- the combination worked really well. I'd give it a solid 8/10. The steak was cooked nicely and paired great with the hollandaise and asparagus. I went with the carne asada breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The portion of meat was generous, the asada was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was on point. The service was good too, friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. My only small complaint is that the booth seating feels a little tight, I wish the chairs were a bit bigger for comfort. Other than that, everything was great. Located off Oddie Blvd, Sparks Coffee Shop stands out as one of the best places for breakfast in the Reno/Sparks area. Took us about 15 minutes wait to be seated. Our server was quick with the coffee and waters, while we reviewed the menu. Each table has plenty of space to stretch out and prepare for a delicious breakfast. Menu has lots of the go to breakfast options, but if you're looking for something different highly recommend chilaquiles, chorizo and eggs or a carne asada scramble. I've crushed many chicken fried steaks for breakfast but the chorizo and eggs Benedict totally exceeded expectations. Big portion and sauce had a delicious kick to complete the dish. Carne asada chilaquiles were another bomb dish. Carne asada was tender and chilaquiles sauce was made from scratch. Again hearty portions and could easily feed two. Walked in at around 9:40, the restaurant is packed and full, lines are forming outside, I let the host know, how many party and he said 20 - 30 minutes wait approximately. As we are waiting and then seated, we are promptly greeted and took our beverages order. The drinks came out in about 5 minutes. We ordered omelet. Another wonderful breakfast staple in Sparks, Sparks Coffee Shop is always very busy, so please try and arrive early in the day! It's a bit cramped up front while you're waiting for a table, but once you get seated at a table or booth, you'll have a bit more legroom to spread out and relax. Their breakfast menu contains all of the usual favorites, from great chicken fried steak to pancakes, waffles, bacon and eggs to skillets and huevos rancheros. The portions are quite sizeable and the coffee is delicious. My only criticism would be that prices seem a bit higher here than other places, but that's minor really. Paying good money for quality good served by very friendly staff is always worth more. Recommended highly for a great breakfast or lunch! read more

We ordered the Seafood Benedict, Special French Toast and Steak Sandwich. Seafood Benedict came with 2 thick seafood patties, each patty sandwiched between a perfectly poached egg and an English muffin and topped with very generous amount of Hollandaise sauce. It's nice that they don't skimp on the sauce. Hollandaise sauce had a hint of lemon flavor. The patties were filled with lots of seafood but not fishy. I chose the grilled potatoes instead of the hash brown. Came with avocado slices, also. 5 stars! The Steak Sandwich had a whole slice of what looks like ribeye steak. Steak was thick, tender and beefy tasting. Sandwich also had avocado slices, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The bread was toasty on the outside. Big portion. 5 stars. The Special French Toast used sourdough bread which made it better than other types of French Toast. It came with 4 big thick slices of sourdough bread dusted with powdered sugar. We chose the bacon over the sausage for protein. Also came with 2 eggs. Another very good dish that's a bit lighter than the first 2 above. Soda and coffee are refillable. Very nice and friendly staff. They made us feel welcome. Food came out pretty quick. Nice, bright, clean dining room. The prices are very reasonable especially for the size of portions. There's plenty of parking, too. We got a table as soon as we walked in around 10am on a Wednesday. Definitely 5 stars! Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I wish Sparks Coffee Shop would clone itself and open a Reno Coffee Shop across town! This is bar none my favorite place to eat breakfast/lunch in the Reno/Sparks area. The meals always hit it out of the park. The seafood Benedict's crab cakes have bits of lobster meat in them and the French Dip comes on a toasted bun and is by far my favorite one in town. The chicken fried steak is always a winner. Ordered the fruit instead of potatoes if you want the best bowl of riot as a side in town. I think this is our new favorite breakfast spot. We went there again last Saturday morning with some friends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I had the chicken friedsteak and eggs. There was an abundance of food. And it was all delicious. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, the country fried steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender and moist, and the gravy is delicious.
