I've been here a handful of times and it never misses. The cafe itself is pretty traditional, but it has a "family" vibe to it. It's always busy, (a sign that the food is fantastic) but it's SO worth the wait! The food is fresh and flavoring, and the staff are all always friendly, welcoming and attentive. I admit, I always order the same thing. Carne asada, eggs over easy, beans and four tortillas, and it ALWATS hits! This place truly is a local treasure!
First the positives...the service was prompt and attentive and the food as served quickly. The only reason I am not giving five stars is the yogurt parfait I ordered barely had any yogurt in it. It was very heavy on the granola but not much yogurt. The price point was high there as well but for the prompt service, I didn't mind
Quality/Quantity - Last get together before we all start our next trips! Sadly, not together... Safe travels everyone. Today, our group got the following and all of which were good! Sante Fe Salad - For the healthy eater. Chili Relleno. Special Crunch Berry French Toast - My wife's dish and my recommendation for her. Home run among the ladies. My generous wife shared with everyone, otherwise she could have gotten two meals out of her brunch. Carnitas Huevos Rancheros - All the men got this dish. One with no cheese, one with cheese on the side, and mine made the way it is supposed to come! Ambiance - Decent size location Plus it was very spacious. Table, booth, and bar seating. Private room available. Open 6 days a week from 8am to 2pm; closed on Sundays. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Good. We closed the place and were never rushed to leave. But of course, we try to be respectful and leave at their posted close time. Price - $140, reasonably priced, especially for the quality of food. Well, I got two meals out of my dish, so a really good deal, lol. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2011 and with your two locations. Not that I enjoy going to Southern Cal, but next time I am there, I will visit that location.
I ordered the breakfast enchiladas plate this time and although I found the chorizo from the enchiladas to be overly salty I still enjoyed the experience at Sparks Coffee Shop. The service is wonderful! I observed the staff zooming around taking great care of all the customers. The coffee is hot and tasty and from my last visit I know there are food options that are delicious! I look forward to another visit and highly recommend!
Every time I have eaten here the food has always been amazing large portions I always have leftovers the staff is great they have good coffee and theer is plenty of parking sometimes there is wait but it's worth waiting for give then a try and you'll be very happy their special French toast is a go to
The breakfast beverages were creamy and sweet. I had a vanilla latte and my husband got a chai latte. We always order the crunchy French toast when we come in, we also had the Chilaquiles verdes and they were amazingly savory. My husband got the huevos Mexicanos with biscuits and gravy. We never leave here disappointed and this is one of our favorite breakfast places in Reno. The service is always great.
Really enjoy this restaurant. Clean and friendly, great place for breakfast and lunch. Had the crunch Berry French Toast today, was amazing with lot of Berries and a drizzle of Carmel.
I visited this establishment for breakfast. This is the third time I have eaten here and find their food to be amazing. I want to comment on the chile relleno breakfast. It was not the traditional stuffed chile dipped in a fluffy egg white batter. This was a stuffed pepper, delicious but with a thin flat egg topping the chile. I was disappointed in the presentation and taste. The sauce tasted like tomato paste with chile powder. The beans had a nice smokey flavor. Service was top notch, moving amazingly fast considering how busy it was In the dining room. The atmosphere was a typical cafe style and very clean. My friend had the chorizo meal. We each had coffee at $4.50 a cup. It was about $49 for the entire meal not counting tip.
Yes most definitely recommend! My husband surprised me by taking me to eat breakfast. Smelled so good as soon as we walked in. Was pretty busy but we got a seat at the bar. The service was excellent from beginning to end. We shared the carne asada chilaquiles . Serving was huge, even split in half. So much meat, my husband was so impressed. We had a Birds Eye view from our seats & everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. We will definitely go back on our next trip (we are from Elk Grove, CA). Restaurant is very clean!
This place is clean, fast and friendly with a menu that may leave you second guessing your decision... in a good way. This time around I went with the carne asada breakfast plate, a full and hearty mean with beans, 2 eggs, hash browns and a nice big piece of perfectly cooled carne asada. Extra props for leaving a carafe of coffee at the table as well. The only problem I've ever run into here would be that at times the wait can be 45 minutes or more, a sign of a strong local restaurant. And while that is longer than I ever wish to wait, we occasionally need to have a plan B ready during peak times.
I found a new hidden gem of a coffee shop. It's been here for years but I've never been here before. As soon as we sat down in our comfy booth, we were greeted with a friendly waitress. She immediately served us coffee with a pot to refill our cups! That's impressive! I ordered the Huevos Rancherous. My friend ordered the sausage and egg platter. The portions are enormous!! My Huevos Rancherous was cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of spice, guacamole, refried beans, corn tortillas with a sprinkle of cueso fresco. Delicious! My friend loved her meal too! Looking forward to returning and trying different dishes on the menu!
Sparks Coffee Shop is easily one of the top breakfast spots in town. It's a Mexican-American breakfast place with really solid quality food and very fulfilling portions. My wife ordered the steak Benedict with asparagus -- the combination worked really well. I'd give it a solid 8/10. The steak was cooked nicely and paired great with the hollandaise and asparagus. I went with the carne asada breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The portion of meat was generous, the asada was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was on point. The service was good too, friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. My only small complaint is that the booth seating feels a little tight, I wish the chairs were a bit bigger for comfort. Other than that, everything was great. We'd definitely love to come back again. Highly recommend if you're looking for a satisfying breakfast in town!
The blueberry pancakes are hands down the best -- crispy, slightly crunchy on the outside with a fluffy, cake-like center. Absolute perfection. The bacon is always cooked just right too. There's plenty of seating, but it's packed from open to close, so be ready for a wait. Totally worth it though!
I haven't been here for awhile and it's totally worth the wait as it gets very busy. Their food never disappoints. Their breakfast menu is tempting, but it was after Eleven A.M. and I was craving a hamburger bad. My friend who accompanied me wanted a plain cheese omelette, she is a very basic eater which is her choice to only order familiar food. Boring ! Anyway, beyond the food, the service was great and the staff is wonderful. I urge anyone who hasn't tried this place to definitely add it to your list, I'm certain it will become a favorite. The only complaint is that on this particular day the kitchen was short staffed and we did wait awhile for our food to arrive, but I'm patient with these kinds of things after working in the restaurant industry for many years. So the food arrived and my eyes popped out of my head when my burger arrived, the patty was meaty and the vegetables on the burger were fresh. I chose the Mushroom Swiss burger, Wow ! Every bite was delicious and the French Fries were so crisp and delicious. I filled my belly to its limit with this meal. Oh, and my friend's omelette was unbelievable it was so fluffy and it was served steaming, every bite steam kept rising from it, it's like nothing we had ever seen, unbelievable ! As for me I probably won't be ordering a burger anywhere else. Excellent ! I did also order a Latte and it was filled to the rim and quite good. They definitely deserve 5 Stars. read more

We've found our new favorite breakfast spot!! It was pretty packed for a Tuesday morning but we were sat immediately. Let's talk about the food DELICIOUS and the portions are huge! I had the steak and eggs and French toast I couldn't even finish half! My husband had the carne asada breakfast and he said that alone will bring him back!! Service was fast we got our food in 15 mins after ordering! We will definitely be back! read more

Hubby and I came in for an impromptu brunch date since we were hungry and in the area. I looked up restaurants near us, and this one popped up. What a gem it turned out to be! The restaurant is clean and modern, the staff were all wonderful and the food was superb! We got the eggs Benedict and chorizo sausage breakfast, and both were absolutely delicious! I can see why they have such great reviews and I will definitely be coming back! read more

Was visiting family for the holiday and heard great reviews for Sparks Coffee Shop. Located off Oddie Blvd, Sparks Coffee Shop stands out as one of the best places for breakfast in the Reno/Sparks area. Sparks Coffee Shop being a Latino flavor to several dishes you don't traditionally see in coffee shops and with a very big following no wonder you will wait for seating on any given day. Took us about 15 minutes wait to be seated. Our server was quick with the coffee and waters, while we reviewed the menu. Each table has plenty of space to stretch out and prepare for a delicious breakfast. Menu has lots of the go to breakfast options, but if you're looking for something different highly recommend chilaquiles, chorizo and eggs or a carne asada scramble. I've crushed many chicken fried steaks for breakfast but the chorizo and eggs Benedict totally exceeded expectations. Big portion and sauce had a delicious kick to complete the dish. Carne asada chilaquiles were another bomb dish. Carne asada was tender and chilaquiles sauce was made from scratch. Again hearty portions and could easily feed two. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. You've got to try Sparks Coffee Shop, they're the hot spot for breakfast! read more
As usual a bit of a wait, but oh so worth the wait. Big plates, quality ingredients, and prices consistent with the new normal. For a weekday, there were a lot of people and it was a very busy day. We took a little while to be seated, but the wait time was reasonable. They have so many delicious options. The plates were huge, so if you're someone who doesn't eat much, you'll probably have an extra meal to take home. The chilaquiles had a good flavor and were crunchy, and the spiciness of the sauce was perfect. The service was good; the waitress took great care of us and was very kind. So I don't know if you've ever craved a salad a good salad with lots of things on it? Well I crave it all the time. I've never been able to find one until now. Stumbled upon it on accident went to breakfast with a friend who happens to take us to every delicious place in Reno when he picks the restaurant, but I will tell you The steak salad here is the most delicious salad ever. it's so simple but yet everything has delicious flavor! This is the best breakfast in the Reno area - my absolute favorite. The food is outstanding, the pancakes are the best I've ever had, do yourself a favor and get pancakes for the table. The seafood Benedict is also exceptional, the crunch berry French toast is very sweet but so so good. The service is quick and efficient and the coffee mugs are huge and they make sure you never run out. There is plenty of parking, but can get very busy on the weekends so expect to wait a bit if you go during peak times, but it's always worth the wait. read more

Walked in at around 9:40, the restaurant is packed and full, lines are forming outside, I let the host know, how many party and he said 20 - 30 minutes wait approximately. As we are waiting and then seated, we are promptly greeted and took our beverages order. The drinks came out in about 5 minutes. We ordered omelet. My omelet of choice is Denver.. it's good, the omelet is thick, came out steaming hot. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying something else on the menu. read more

We ordered the Seafood Benedict, Special French Toast and Steak Sandwich. Seafood Benedict came with 2 thick seafood patties, each patty sandwiched between a perfectly poached egg and an English muffin and topped with very generous amount of Hollandaise sauce. It's nice that they don't skimp on the sauce. Hollandaise sauce had a hint of lemon flavor. The patties were filled with lots of seafood but not fishy. I chose the grilled potatoes instead of the hash brown. Came with avocado slices, also. 5 stars! The Steak Sandwich had a whole slice of what looks like ribeye steak. Steak was thick, tender and beefy tasting. Sandwich also had avocado slices, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The bread was toasty on the outside. Big portion. 5 stars. The Special French Toast used sourdough bread which made it better than other types of French Toast. It came with 4 big thick slices of sourdough bread dusted with powdered sugar. We chose the bacon over the sausage for protein. Also came with 2 eggs. Another very good dish that's a bit lighter than the first 2 above. Soda and coffee are refillable. Very nice and friendly staff. They made us feel welcome. Food came out pretty quick. Nice, bright, clean dining room. The prices are very reasonable especially for the size of portions. There's plenty of parking, too. We got a table as soon as we walked in around 10am on a Wednesday. Definitely 5 stars! Highly recommend this restaurant. read more
I wish Sparks Coffee Shop would clone itself and open a Reno Coffee Shop across town! This is bar none my favorite place to eat breakfast/lunch in the Reno/Sparks area. The meals always hit it out of the park. The seafood Benedict's crab cakes have bits of lobster meat in them and the French Dip comes on a toasted bun and is by far my favorite one in town. The chicken fried steak is always a winner. Ordered the fruit instead of potatoes if you want the best bowl of riot as a side in town. I am always looking for an excuse to make the trip across town to eat here. read more

Little bit of a wait, roughly 20 minutes or so. Love the breakfast displays. They are put together so nicely. Everyone really enjoyed all their meals. Our waitress Mary was very kind and attentive. We did have to wait a bit for drinks and I had to get up and ask for silverware because two of our meals came out and we still didn't have any. Over all a really nice experience. Staff were all very kind and friendly. We got a pretty quiet and chill spot in the back. read more

Greeted right away with awesome customer service. What a plus for us who is visiting the state. The restaurant has nice and beautiful decors, it is nice and clean. Our food was served and the all look good. I got the Denver Omelette and it was delicious presentation was top notch and portion is big. I'm so impressed with their great customer service. Absolutely delicious food, great portions, and quick service. I got the Carnitas Con Huevos Rancheros and it was delectable. Everything was perfectly seasoned, the hashbrowns were nice and crispy. A breakfast stop I will absolutely make again. There was quite a line waiting outside to be seated when we arrived and the wait was still only 15 minutes to be seated. read more
Good Breakfast and Coffee restaurant. Comfortable restaurant with friendly staff who provide excellent service. Plan on coming back to try lunch and other items. Love the very hot coffee and the carafe, so I could refresh at will. My pancake and bacon were also very good. Check out my photo of the kids menu with similarities with their senior meals. Some tips extra 50 cent charge for single dining and 3.5% for using a credit card. Otherwise not cheap but large portions and good value for what you get. read more
I think this is our new favorite breakfast spot. We went there again last Saturday morning with some friends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I had the chicken friedsteak and eggs. There was an abundance of food. And it was all delicious. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, the country fried steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender and moist, and the gravy is delicious. And the hash brown potatoes were piping hot. The service is awesome. Everyone is kind and friendly and boy do they work hard. The seating is comfortable and they also play smooth breakfast music in the background. read more
Everything was amazing! From the food to the service! It was very busy, but the wait wasn't too long to sit or to get our food! We shared thee different dishes and everything was delicious! It's a pretty simply decorated restaurant, and even though it was super busy it wasn't too loud inside. Each time we've been here the food is great, really consistent! Yes, to 2250 oddie blvd. Basically across what was the parking lot,next to dotties. Same great food.
Do they sell everything bagels?
They do not. They are a sit down restaurant rather than a grab and go coffee place.
