We went there after lunch rush. Place was not too busy. Seated right away (outside). We immediately were brought water, the server greeted us and took our drink orders. I had the Planter's Punch and wife had a mai tai. Both were. Fought out quickly, ice cold, and well poured. Apps came out hot. Entrees came out at the right time. My wife and I went there on Saturday late afternoon. We were offered a table but we decided to sit in the bar area due to the live entertainment in the dining room. The live entertainment was great, the female vocalist was wonderful. Tom our bartender was very nice and attentive. We were not rushed at all. We enjoyed our drinks prior to ordering. I had the steamers (special) as an appetizer, they were very good. My wife and I both had the hot lobster roll with fries and coleslaw. There was plenty of lobster and we enjoyed. I'm surprised with low ratings as I enjoyed my dining experience here. The food was tasty - stuffed sole and seared tuna. It's not fresh tuna but hey not much of fresh fish around here. It was a bit scary looking at the color of some parts of the tuna (second photo vs first photo), it looked like previously frozen then refreezed - not sure but nobody got sick and it was delicious for sure well-seasoned! The stuffed sole was another story - I love it a lot! The sides were good too. The service was excellent, the host sat us quick and servers were attentive, they have complimentary bread. We sat outside overlooking the water and boat dock with live entertainment. They also have outdoor bar next to the entertainment. It can get lively! Had a nice meal here last week. It's right on the water making it for a perfect location in the summer to eat outside. Seems like it would be a great spot for happy hour or even dinner watching the sunset too. The food is good there as well. I had the blackened mahi tacos which were tasty and the sauce on it was so good. I liked that I had the option to get rice and beans instead of fries. The churros are so good! My friend and I were looking for outdoor casual dining on a recent Saturday afternoon. We checked Yelp. We drove to several places but all required resevations (who knew?) And all were full. So we contacted Outriggers and were able to get a reservation quickly. Awesome. After reading the reviews, I was so cautious about ordering anything! But we were promptly seated on the deck with an o.k. view of boats and dock area. No cocktail prices were listed (?) And when we asked the server he just said there were diff prices for different drinks ranging from $8-$14, although he thought the Long Island Iced Tea was $16.00 No help whatsover. We were just looking for a light snack to share (a dip, nachos, etc) or sandwich, but the menu seemed to be all over the place-no real theme. Prices high. We ended up ordering 2 different cocktails which were ah, but not outstanding. Way too pricey (which we did not know till we received check) I ordered a simple house salad with kalamata olives and red onions with balsamic vinegarette along with French Onion soup. My friend ordered the fried clam platter. Fried clams were cooked ok, but obviously frozen and contained 90 percent breading. No real clam taste. Disappointing. Fries were the best part of dish. My salad was pathetic looking --wilted lettuce and 1 kalamata olive. Dressing was weirdly thick and not tasty. French onion soup was good-nice tasting broth and cheese was not stringy. Service was o.k. All in all, we will not be returning and would not recommend this establisment for food, cocktails, view and certainly not value. The view is not even worth excusing the less than stellar food. Really sad. You would be better off packing a picnic lunch and heading to Seaside or St. Mary's by the Sea. read more

Had a fabulous evening at Outriggers, sorrel no pictures . My wife and I sat at the outside bar we had swordfish and whole belly clam diners along wit those fried artichoke appetizer. Everything was fantastic. They also had a duo for entertainment, the staff was worm and welcoming. We came here along time as it was one of my in laws favorite seafood restaurant. This is a great spot right on the water with a large deck. Great for watching boats go by with the breeze coming off the water. The deck is showing its age. Could use a good power wash and seal. Rustic New England look must be what they are going for. Decent draft list and extensive menu. Lunch with a beer will cost you around $30 with tip so not an every day for me. My family and I were looking forward to eating here and while it wasn't terrible, we weren't impressed. First off the raw oysters and clams were delicious but they do not hook you up with all the raw bar fixins. Just lemon. My husband had to ask for hot sauce which should be on the platter. The portion sizes were very small for the high prices. I had friend whole belly clams and it was like 12 pieces and boring bland fries. The soft shell crab dinner was very small for $26. Our service was rushed, we were in and out in 45 minutes. We were never offered refills and our waters sat empty for about 15 minutes. First time visit and we loved it all. From food, to service to the view. Highlights were the sea bass with baked crab and the blackened scallops. Holy cannoli. Delicious. Service was exceedingly slow with minimal knowledge of the dishes being prepared. The steamers came out. Half and I am not exaggerating we're not open. The server offered a drink but not a remake on the dish. The whole belly clams were soggy and soaked with oil. Didn't get a credit on any of it. I won't be back So I got guilted into returning to outriggers to give them a second chance.mind you my so called friends lol based their request on some Instagram photos they saw and the fact that it was sunny sixty plus degrees and they have a deck. Went here for dinner. Sadly we had the owners daughter as our waitress. She absolutely required many mores hours of training before being allowed to wait on customers. After taking our drink order it took 40 minutes for our drinks to come while all around us people were getting theirs so clearly not an issue with the bar. Food finally showed up after over an hour waiting and it was cold. Our waitress was incredibly rude. Will not be back. We had lunch yesterday with friends. It had to be the worst seafood ever. I had backed stuffed shrimp- 3 mini shrimp rubbery and bland, ordered fried shrimp - tiny and tasteless, coleslaw no dressing, fried ok. Tried to have dinner here with a family of 4, 3 adults and a 13 year old. I understand 6 pm on a Saturday with no reservation is a crap shoot. Plenty of tables inside and outside but were told "we have a lot of reservations". Ok so any other options?? Well you can sit at the outside bar seats....... Walk outside and find lots of empty tables and a bar. We can't sit at the bar with a 13 year old. Grab a waitress and ask what are the "bar tables". She didn't know and said she had to ask the hostess. After 5 minutes with no help and no answers we just walked out. Shame, it seems like a nice location but they didn't have act together. They are open for Thanksgiving and this year we partook. I must say they were wonderful. Among the yummy items we ordered were Lamb Chops, Calamari, potatoes, Dinner Rolls, salad and a delicious Orange Margarita. The place was beautifully decorated and service could not have been better. It was PACKED. And loud. LOL. But it was actually kind of nice. The food was REALLY good and they did offer Turkey on the special Thanksgiving menu, we just chose not to have any as we are having some tomorrow. So I logged on here and was shocked at how low the rating has fallen. Hopefully if any Yelpers who like this place and have not rated it yet, see this they can do a review. My mixed feelings about Outriggers in the past were based on other things other than the food which I have always enjoyed. But even at my most exasperated times here, I'd never think of them as a 1 or 2 star place. And judging by the packed house there tonight, neither do many other people. At any rate, perhaps they will be opened next Thanksgiving as well and if they are, I am sure it will be packed. The service, which was spotty years ago, when I was a semi regular here, was outstanding tonight and that's saying something considering the size of the crowd there. Sooook it's really only about the water frontview and scenery. They have clearly spent time/money on the lawn and groundskeeping. You can see the well manicured grasses and abundant flowers leading up to the restaurant. The menu is large enough to imply that they are serving you mostly frozen then fried stuff (the fries for example) Everything needed to be seasoned. Maybe the coleslaw was okay without having to add salt and pepper. I had 2 raw oysters which comes with a lemon wedge and cocktail sauce (no mignonette) which were decent. The lobster bisque was also good. But it sort of ends there. They don't have any indication on which items on the menu are vegetarian or gluten-free, which I can forgive, but gets rolled up into a general lack of effort. I got the salmon entree which is supposed to be topped with pesto. Holy bland pesto, Batman! The green beans where crunchy a.f. I'm guessing just blanched? My rice was sad and watery. I can make a better side of white rice in my rice cooker at home. I'm guessing it came from a frozen-microwaved pouch is where it came from. My husband's lobster roll came on a burger bun instead of the traditional hot dog roll. We also noticed what may been an accumulation of black mold or rust on the inside lip of their Heinz ketchup bottle. We showed our server. I felt bad but wanted to make sure no one else got that bottle. The food would get 2 stars and the service 3 stars and it was overpriced for what you're getting. The ambience of the water side deck would get 3 or 4 stars plus they had a talented acoustic guitar/ singer performing. Stopped in today on a lark, knowing it was Father's day and probably booked. Hostess said they were booked and we could sit at the bar. We were happy to be able to get a table. Once we sat down we noticed the entire restaurant and large outdoor deck were empty. I counted only 5 tables out of at least 40 that were occupied. Other customers at the small bar asked for the owner to complain about the same issue. He was not friendly or helpful, we spoke with him next, and repeated the same question of why force us to sit at the small cramped bar when there was a completely empty restaurant and deck? He said it was a staffing issue. We pointed out there were about 5 waitstaff standing around with nothing to do, since all the tables were empty. He continued to give non-sensical explanations that were illogical. Like they weren't even going to take walk in's today, alluding that we should feel lucky. The other customers ended up getting in a loud verbal argument with one of the owner's family members and they were yelling back and forth. The whole thing was disgraceful. Maybe it's time for this longtime establishment to learn some basic business lessons on how to keep customers happy, or deal with a very reasonable complaint. The attached picture is when we finished eating and now there were 31 empty tables. On the positive side our waitress was sweet and obviously overwhelmed dealing with this issue all day. The staff and service are always good at Outriggers. Beautiful space right at the dock. The inside room and the outside patio are both very nice and that is why you come here. The food is not terrible, but not wonderful either. Basic items that taste ok, just not anything to 'write home about' which is unfortunate. I have had entrees including clam strips, fish tacos, lobster rolls, etc. Just mediocre at best. Clam strips came just a few minutes after ordering, which would mean that they were not prepared to order and were not crispy. Disappointing especially when you are taking a friend there from out of state. Overall this place is not bad, go for the atmosphere and you'll be fine. read more

Went Saturday night for a birthday dinner. Sat on lawn which is not level. Difficult for moving chairs. Once seated was a while before waited on. Had to ask for bread. Menus online but if someone didn't understand how to use it it could be a problem. Had to get paper menu. After drink order was taken along with the meal it was at least 15 minutes before the drinks arrived. They had obviously overbooked the deck and service was slow not due to wait staff but the kitchen. Once food arrived I must say it was delicious. Had the Salmon Terriaky. Was great and other meals as well. Didn't have any cappuccino or espresso coffee. Also was not set up for separate checks. Would go back but not on weekend.
