Well I'm not sure the hype about this place I e seen people standing up line to get in. Wasn't the case today so thought I would check it out I got pancakes with blueberries maybe my fault but I expected the blueberries to be cooked within the pancakes not just placed on top. Friendly staff, always attentive and excellent environment. We got the brioche French toast with Carmel Drizzle, it was amazing! We also got the chilequilas, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast sandwich. Everything was great except the chilequilas. It seems like they used Doritos for the chips. Traditionally it's made with tortilla strips with the sauce and maybe eggs and a meat. I've seen places use tortilla chips to make for a faster process but never Doritos. Sure I could be wrong but these chips were seasoned exactly like Doritos or made by the same company. The food was good, location great but the chilequilas preparation was a no go for me. I ordered another breakfast sandwich. I would've be back because the overall food seemed pretty simple. If I was going out to eat I want something that I can't find at another restaurant. I love the Waffle Dogs and tots here! I probably would eat this daily if it was healthier lol. But seriously, you need to try them. The waffle dogs are battered and fried to perfection! The balance of sweet, savory and tart with some strawberries really is amazing. The second time I tried the chicken fried steak with scrambled egg and tots. The tots won me over again but the chicken fried steak was a bit bland. I think opting for over easy eggs may have made it better but next time I go back I need to have those waffle dogs again in my life. The service is fast and friendly, the tables are relatively spaced out and outdoor dining is available. All the servers and staff had masks on. Sort of a beachy theme. Blue & yellow. Like most places, breakfast is $15 but this breakfast is good and everyone in the place is happy and nice egg white veggie omelet is great, potatoes great, blueberry quinoa, granola waffle looked good in a healthy sort of beachy, groovy way. $34 for breakfast before a good tip. Service is excellent here. Tip well. Plus if you sit outside you can watch the birds dive-bomb for the pancake crumbs. Entertainment is no charge. There are a few OE locations in Phoenix, this one was in Paradise Valley off Tatum near Torchy's Tacos. (I love that place, too.) read more

Anyways, after starting our morning with a cold brew for the Mrs and a nitro cold brew for myself ordered our breakfast items. A healthy choice for me was a protein bowl with a side of fresh fruit. It definitely hit the spot. That bowl had over easy eggs, red and white quinoa, sausage with arugula. My better half chose the ham Steak and a red eye gravy. Food was OK but needed seasoning. the waffle in the chicken and waffle plate tasted like a frozen waffle. Spicy maple syrup consisted of Cholula (from the table) and plain maple syrup. My French toast was well cooked but was devoid of flavor and the brioche was very dry and lacked the richness brioche usually has. Staff was mostly efficient not interrupting the meal. Our waitress, after telling her we were ready to order, asked if this was our first time in. When we said yes, she started explaining the menu even though we said we were already to order. She was pleasant, but still annoying as it felt condescending. One lady who was bussing tables and delivering food gave off a very unpleasant air...no smile, no greeting, almost like she was very annoyed that she had to work. I love this neighborhood spot and you most likely will find me at least two to three times a week here. Staff is always so friendly and breakfast here is a nice way to ease into the morning. Service is usually quick even on the busy weekends. It says a lot for me to come back regularly when I have quite the selection of spots in the area.. Without fail, Over Easy has consistent service, excellent food and wonderful staff. There are so many choices that you won't guilt yourself over any of the menu items. Generally, my pick is the Cali omelet, minus the feta instead substitute it for the pepper jack cheese with a side of fruit and English muffin. The presentation is enough to make you smile from ear to ear that you are eating only 1,909 calories. Offering cocktails and beer only adds to my desire to linger longer at the bar but I'm willing to give it up for other patient patrons. My other faves is the chicken fried steak. Those tator tots are bomb. So crunchy and so good for my belly. When I want to bulk up before gym, I go for the steak and eggs or the chilaquiles. Why wouldn't you? Very good brunch spot with a menu full of choices. Been here a few times and it is always consistent. Food always tastes fresh. Usually quite busy on the weekends but that doesn't mean you can't get good food and service. A lot of other brunch places have their quality drop off when they are real busy but this place always hits the mark. Got the California omelette and it was delicious. Kids got chicken and waffles, chicken was amazing but the waffle were really thin and weren't fluffy like they should be. That was the only negative. Really yummy food & I subbed my toast for bacon & potatoes for avocado with my custom omlet with pork, mushrooms & jalapenos. For some reason they did green peppers instead of jalapenos in my omlet but it was okay with cholula instead. Omlet would've been better as ordered but it was fine so I didn't mention it. Server was super nice & the side of bacon & avocados were perfect. Coffee here was good too. Was pretty busy today as it's father's day & I went with friends. They enjoyed their meals & I was super happy to be able to make mine keto & gluten free. Always a win spending time with friends! The decor/atmosphere was cute & bright which I enjoyed. My waiter gladly got me one. I would like to reiterate how wonderful and friendly she was. I ordered the moko loco with a black coffee and she asked me how I wanted my patty. I ordered it medium well. It came out in a few minutes later. It was delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly. The gravy was hot and savory and not too salty. There were these beautiful, fresh mushrooms in there and a nice amount of pepper. The The beef was a great quality and fresh; cooked just right. My over easy egg was cooked beautifully and it was topped with wonderfully sweet fried onions. Everything had the right amount so you had the best bite every time. I thought a little hot sauce might be nice but I think it was perfectly seasoned just as is. The coffee was good. Not the best I ever had and definitely not the worst. I happily drank it and my cup was consistently topped off with fresh coffee. Here's my issue. There was someone's drink near my area and the counter next to needed to be wiped down. I suppose the manager was doing some work and I was eating next to her paperwork and her laptop. Since the manager kept checking on me and moving her paperwork I thought someone would notice.
