Menu hasn't changed since we first discovered this place a few years ago, and that's a good thing. They offer a brunch menu served from 10-2, along with the regular menu which is varied and therefore a great place for all. Today's special was dollar of draft beers and drinks. I ordered the stir-fry with Mahi Mahi and it was excellent over rice with grilled onions, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and snow pea pods. Couldn't even finish it. The fish was cooked perfectly. I was hesitant but the waitress said everyone loves it, so I ordered the PBJ Time burger. As strange as it sounds, it was AMAZING and one of the best burgers I've ever had. What a lovely place! We were visiting Wake Forest for the day (our first time!) and used Yelp to help us find a great lunch spot and boy did Yelp help us! We arrived VERY hungry and luckily even though it was pretty busy, we were able to be sat right away in a nice booth. We started with the loaded potato chips. While not as loaded as previous photos, it was still pretty good. I had a heck of a time deciding on an entree because there were so many amazing choices, but ultimately decided on The Tony with fried chicken. Avocado, bacon, jack and honey mustard. OMG this was a good sandwich!!! For dessert we shared the brown butter blonde sundae. It was very large and very tasty! The service was great. There was a toy dinosaur behind the host stand my 2 year old had his eye on and they kindly let him borrow it through his meal. I got the avocado toast, which is 4 big pieces along with choice of egg, meat, and side. I got the fried potatoes, scrambled egg, and fried chicken. It was was a huge amount of food for $10! Food was delicious but service was lacking. We walked in and was seated pretty quickly. However it took a while for our waitress to acknowledge us. We went over the menu and decided we'd put in our drink and food order at the same time since we had been sitting for so long. When we ordered our drinks it took longer for our water to come out than the alcoholic drinks the boys ordered. The she crab soup was flavorful. Very delicopis, I'd definitely take another bowl of that. The BBQ melt was delicious! Cooked very well and a perfect melody of flavors. We waited maybe 10 minutes on a weeknight but I expect the wait is longer on the weekends. Service was quick and pleasant and the food was great. I love that the wings are crispy even though the garlic Parmesan needed a tad more flavor. I got a farmhouse salad and it was huge and absolutely delicious. The wait was about 15mins for a party of 2 on a Saturday evening. However, the waitress Tina who's white was making racist comments. I'm African American and I ordered the blueberry water and she comments that it's really sweet like Kool-Aid. I said ok that's fine. Then when we get our food, I had the shrimp linguine, she asked if I need Texas Pete or Tobasco and I looked down at my plate confused and was like no I'm good. Then my boyfriend who's Caucasian stated to me that was racist of her to comment on Kool-Aid and offer me hot sauce for a meal that doesn't have anything to put hot sauce on. To top it all off I barely ate any because I bit down on something extremely hard that chipped my tooth, IN PASTA and when I get to the car my tooth was bleeding. The one star for the food presentation was nice but the taste wasn't there. Also, my boyfriend & I felt sick afterward. Update: I appreciate the owner reaching out. However, just because someone is married to an African American person doesn't mean they get to make those types of comments especially when I didn't ask how the beverage tasted or her opinion and if she were to have asked my spouse as well if we need any condiments then there wouldn't have been a problem but to single handly only ask me when all I had is pasta that has a sauce on it, there's no need for any hot sauce with my meal. It was my spouse who brought it to my attention because he was offended. We would prefer the waiter to just ask if we need any condiments to go along with our meal. Also, I didn't ask for a manager for the food because I don't like causing a scene and didn't know the state of my tooth until I reached the car and looked. We drove 45 minutes to do a date night, and this restaurant did not disappoint! We sat at the bar and the entire bar staff was very friendly and made great food and drink recommendations. We started with the potato skins, and they were very big and flavorful. Definitely take some home if it's just two of you! Their menu had a great selection and it took a while for us to figure out what we wanted because everything seemed so good. I went with a side salad and the red dragon tossed chicken tenders. Both were very good, and they make their honey mustard dressing in house. My fiancé got a classic burger and loaded house made chips. He said it was the best restaurant burger he's had in years! He was skeptical about driving so far for dinner, but we will be back soon! Everything was very fresh, delicious, good prices and friendly staff. Pre-covid, my husband and I went to OTF every Sunday after church. I absolutely loved the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream! It came with eggs, bacon or sausage, and a side. I usually got fruit, but sometimes cheesy grits. Both are excellent. I've been recently, but in the evening. My husband loves their fried chicken salad. Their homemade chips are to die for! According to the receipt, I had the bartender as our server. That might explain why his service was less than ideal. My guest ordered decaffeinated coffee as her beverage, and I ordered sweet tea. When he brought the sweet tea he brought her a glass of water and said they were brewing her a fresh pot of coffee. TEN MINUTES later he returned with the coffee and then took our food orders. Later in our meal my guest had to ask another server for beverage refills and a take out box because our server was rarely seen. As for the food. Once we placed our food order, it was brought to the table in a reasonable time. My guest ordered the chicken salad wrap with a side of macaroni salad and I ordered the BEE STING burger (burger covered in a hot sauce and honey mix) and fries. She enjoyed her wrap. I wasn't too impressed with the burger. The sauce was good as it had just enough heat but not overpowering the burger, but that was the only seasoning. Burger is also served with onions and lettuce, but no cheese or condiments. Would love to say I was impressed, but the slow service and the average burger didn't do it for me. read more

First, let me say this isn't my first visit to OTF and our server tonight was good. The food however, was lacking. In the past, I found the food to be really good. Tonight, my husband and I went there for dinner. He ordered the steak stir fry and honest to god, it was literally a big bowl of rice with 4 paper thin slices of steak and vegetables chopped so small, you could barely tell it had vegetables in the dish! It did have 4 little broccoli florets but the bowl was 90% rice and it costed 22.00! My husband was so disappointed.. and hungry. I had the burger which was a typical burger. The sweet potato fries were an up charge and didn't come out with my meal but the fries were the best part of the entire meal. I also got a glass of wine which was 9.00 and it wasn't more than scant 1/2 cup portion. I cannot believe they think it's ok to charge 9.00 for 1/2 cup of wine! My husband had one draft beer and for our two drinks, a burger and the stir fry, we spent 58.00 plus tip. I don't send food back because I've worked in the industry, but it was tempting. I wish we had just ordered a big pizza and split it, now. I know their pizza is decent but I couldn't get over the ridiculous price of that stir fry! I ended up giving my husband some of my burger and fries. I honestly think they need to re-evaluate the stir fry option for what it contains and the price. We definitely would not recommend that! It was kinda loud in there also which I had not experienced, previously. I wouldn't even mention it had the food experience been better. Overall, I'd give this experience a 3 on a 1-10 scale. This place does everything right. 1. It's very easy to see the wait time from your phone. Why can't all restaurants fo this? The face that they had a wait on a Wednesday is a good sign. 2. They text you and then say go sit outside or in your car. Of you can be like me and shop at the little boutique a couple of doors down. This prevents a mass crowd at the door. The uncomfortable shuffling past people. 3. The food is excellent. Every burger can be changed for turkey, chicken, fried chicken or impossible burger. That's amazing. My husband and father both had burgers which they said were very good. My mom subbed fried chicken. For hers and that was very good. You can also get chips, fries, macaroni salad, I think a side salad? On the side. Anyway its all tasty. I had the midtowner and it was delicious. The restaurant was crowded on Saturday, I believe. My family and I were leaving and a group of young men were being seated next to our table. I asked the young man to please let my mother pass, but they replied with a nasty comment and a very bad word. Instead of helping my mother, the owner/manager proceeded to defend the young men and yell that he saw everything. I'm not sure what he meant. I tried to explain to him that my mother cannot stand too long and I needed help getting my mother out of the restaurant. He absolutely did not care. I told him he was rude and a lot of other things and he proceeded to turn to the entire restaurant and announce me as his "First Karen in 9 years of the restaurant business" After a few words, I left and the nice receptionist apologized for his behavior. She was very sweet and was concerned about my and even offered to help. The worst part, the manager chased my family out of the restaurant. It was pouring rain so my father went to get the car. I waited with my family and my mother. As we waited outside of the restaurant near the curb, the manager ran out to tell everyone waiting that "I was a Karen," he placed his hand on my mother's shoulder. My mother said "I do not want this man to touch me." I told him to take his hands off my mother, but he proceeded to touch her again and actually press down on her shoulder. He made my mother very nervous and she could have fallen as it doesn't take much due to her condition. I called the police because he assaulted my mother. The police spoke to him first. Apparently, they know each other. The police did not ask me any questions rather told me to leave or he would arrest me. There was another policeman there who was very kind and concerned. He was calm and polite and was more concerned with my mom and my health as well. I do not know what's wrong with the owner of the restaurant. His behavior was outrageous, not professional. In fact, the exact opposite of professional. I never seen anyone attack an elderly woman with a cane who has done nothing to him. My only regret is that we did not go to Arby's as the people at Arby's are civilized and their sandwiches are much much better.
