So I saw this place on an ATL foodie type social media page and they raved about it. My family loves burgers and shakes so I definitely wanted to check it out. When we got there they had some live music of a guy doing cover songs which was cool, atmosphere seemed fine and they had everyone separated a good distance to stay in line with COVID-19 guidelines. For starters, the service was not good. It took about 30 minutes to get our drink order, which was 2 draft beers and 2 of the freakshake milkshakes for my daughters. Our food actually came out before we got our drinks! We asked our server if the drinks were still coming and she just keep saying that the bar was "backed up" but I saw multiple bartenders standing around doing nothing and they were not overwhelmingly busy like you'd think they'd be on a Saturday night so I'm not sure how it was so backed up. I hate when restaurants don't have good service that's my biggest pet peeve. I would even overlook subpar food if the service is really good. Which is actually what their food was, subpar, AT BEST. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because my fiancé said his burger was really good. He got the Georgia summer and he liked it a lot. I got the pop cone chicken (essentially chick fil a nuggets in a waffle cone drizzled with store bought syrup) and the poutine fries. I'm from New Jersey so I know poutine fries and these fries were just not good. Fries were soggy and they were too salty with no real flavor. All in all, I wouldn't visit this place again. Maybe it's cool during Christmas to see it all decked out in Home Alone decor but besides that, probably not worth the trip. read more

My husband and I unexpectedly had to go out for dinner so we decided to to give Over the Top Burger a try. I was really excited as I love burgers, and I really creative specialty burgers and burgers. Sadly the only thing over the top here is the price. To start with we had the Mac and Cheese croquettes. They are a rectangle of fried mac and cheese sitting on cheese sauce. The main problem with this is that since they were sitting on the sauce the bottom part of the croquettes were soggy from the sauce. They were also dry in the inside, which may be why they were sitting on the sauce but they were not very good. I had the Hangover Burger and the Breakfast Shake. The breakfast shake was brought out first, with the glazed donut. I tried the donut first, and then had my husband taste it. It tasted...off. To me it tasted old, or stale. He said that it had an aftertaste, like amaretto, and it tend to seem have a bit of an alcoholic aftertaste. And this was not one of the adult shakes. I immediately set it it to it to the side. The rest of the shake was good. It was basically a vanilla shake with coffee. There was a bunch of stuff in the outside of the mason jar that was edible, but seemed wasteful to me because why would you eat that? Why not just put that in the shake? The hangover burger was massive: waffles for buns, two patties, cheese, hashbrown patty, a fried egg, candied bacon. The trickiest part was eating it. The waffles were drizzled in maple syrup, and while I understand doing that when you picked up the burger to eat it the waffles fell apart, and so it was hard to eat as a burger. Basically it became impossible to eat as a burger after like two bites, but it seemed like our waitress disappeared after our food came out. After a lengthy wait she finally came to check us and I was able to ask for a knife which she finally brought, and was finally able to eat the burger. And the burger was pretty good. The waffles unfortunately already had some of the same weird after taste as the donut, and the maple syrup had soaked in even more making the taste worse. My husband got the Unoriginal Burger and he was not impressed by the improperly cut diced onions and the toasted bun. Neither of us liked the fries because they were heavily peppered, and some other herb. But it was the price that was the most outrageous to us. $71 for burgers and shakes, plus tip. read more

If you care about state guidelines for the pandemic and the pandemic in general, DO NOT COME HERE. If they ever answer the phones for take out, sure order away bc the food is usually awesome and they have a variety of "over the top" selections. And I won't be surprised if the owner changes things around for abiding by state guidelines after I said something about the state and local health department so hopefully they will change things up to make everyone feel welcome and safe. I would not have came by there today if someone answered for a take out option. They answered when I was a minute away and gave me different answers as I was given previously about how brunch vs normal menu hours. Maybe it was until 5pm the first day but this time (so everyone knows since it's not displayed on the website either), it's Sunday brunch only from 11am-3pm, then limited menu (like 4-5 burgers and their shakes) until 4pm, then regular menu after that. I agree, I did come in hot with my initial message to the restaurant and I apologized for that but for warning, I had already sent a website message to them and grew upset with what I was seeing as I was there. I was also upset that I wouldn't have been there if someone answered the phone for take out along with the other times this past month I've called for take out and got no answer. If you have a hard time answering phone calls, maybe turn down the volume inside the restaurant, have a designated person for take out, or set up online ordering/Uber eats, door dash, partner with food delivery systems. I will post these messages so you all can see what's going on. Whoever was messaging me wouldn't verify who they were for the business but it was really rude and wouldn't explain their side of the pandemic views on the business. I sat there reading the guidelines and letting them know what was a violation and instead of offering to speak in person or phone call or anything else, they were very childish with their answers. I'm amazed a business wouldn't hold themselves to higher standards and a professional ethic and if they didn't like a response from a customer, still being professional would have been the way to go. For example, saying "thanks for that feedback we will look into it" or "can I give you a phone call to discuss your issues" or whatever else they could have said opposed to what they said. Saying I'm wrong but wouldn't go further to explain why I'm wrong when I'm sitting there seeing all this go down. My food experience today wasn't great as chicken was burnt (maybe old oil they were cooked in), French fries tasted different from last time, and all the cheese in the curds (ones I ate) had cheese popped out. I was so disgusted with the owner, it made me lose my appetite. On the way home, I got sick from what I guess is the chicken and my dinner partner isn't feeling well either. But our waitress, Eliza, was amazing and so sweet. I've had better food here before and I know they can do better along with doing better with the state guidelines. I just don't know if fixing the person who runs the Facebook account's attitude will be an easy doing. read more

This horrible restaurant does not even deserve 1 star. My friends and I had a horrible experience at this burger bar. First of all we waited 10 min before a host even greeted us after we get sat we waited 15 minutes before the server ever greeted our table and turns out our waitress was the one who sat us. Literally half of the restaurant was empty and we waited 50+ minutes on our food. Our food comes out completely cold. The mac and cheese was the worst I've ever had and our burgers tasted like cold asshole.This is a joke of a restaurant, understaffed and terrible service. Food was awful, service was equally as bad. Never had to go search for someone to help us, get refills, etc as much as we had to here. Sent back several of our dishes and then ordered something else, took an hour for our food to come out. We were told they had other tickets ahead of ours. Been here a couple of times and both times everything was solid. Beer selection is adventurous and burgers are giant. This place is definitely not over the top. It was so underwhelming. For a place to have such a neat idea and creative burger concoctions, you'd expect it to deliver the same. I had ordered the "Bob's Your Uncle" burger that had a portobello mushroom and fried onion rings on it. Sounds good right? Well, I'll attach a copy of the TINY onion ring that came on my burger. In another instance my brother in law got the burger with sausage on it, and they had forgotten it. When the waitress brought out the sausage... it was 2 small sausage discs that was supposed to be for his full burger. It seems that they give you all these crazy toppings, but in the smallest portions only. The fries will okay...nothing really special. Music was okay... a little loud, but not bad. They were not impressed by the syrup and powdered sugar on their chicken, so they only ate the fries and our burgers. I didn't care for the fries I'm guessing it's the rosemary. We arrived just before 3pm on a Saturday thinking it would be good timing in between the lunch and dinner rush. They were not busy and we sat on the patio. After more than 20 minutes I had to go inside to see if anyone was ever coming to take our order. Ordered and it took another 20min to get our shake. Over the Top Burger is exactly that. OVER THE TOP. From the Three Tiered Bloody Mary ( which is insane and if you like them get it ) to the boozy milkshakes and burgers, there is just so much to love about their menu. The Bloody Mary is only available Saturdays and Sundays and is on the Sunday Brunch menu. It comes towered high with all kinds of food like taquitos, two burgers, smoked sausage, fried mozzarella, a giant pretzel, everything. It may seem like a heavy price tag for a Bloody but it comes with enough food for 3+ people as well as a 32 ounce Bloody Mary and 16 ounce beer of your choice. We ordered the Georgia Summer Burger and James and the Giant Peach Boozy Milkshake while some friends of ours got the massive Bloody Mary. We were lucky enough to share the food from the top because it was so delicious. The staff is super knowledgable and helpful with the ordering process. My only wish is that they mandated masks because this place can get absolutely packed. read more

Our burgers were tasty, however there were some issues. The burgers were not very hot and the fries were cold. I assume they sat under the heat lamp for a long time. This was due to the slow service. There was a long delay between each time the server came. At least 10 minutes of waiting between getting drinks and ordering food. She never checked back on us. I was halfway through my burger until she came back and we told her our fries were cold. The manager eventually came and told us they were getting new fries. I was done with my burger but that time. The fries were really good. We didn't get a single refill on our drinks. When it was time to pay, we waited around for a long time before the waiter came. The burgers were tasty, but the meat looked like a frozen patty. Flavor was fine but just didn't look like a restaurant burger. Now for a major problem. Masks. I was shocked to see most of the employees not wearing them, including the manager. The ones wearing them, were not wearing them correctly (on chin or nose out). When we asked about it, we were told that they just had to have them somewhere on their body, and not actually on. Seemed very odd and incorrect. I'm not sure if it's county issue, but every other restaurant I've been to had employees wearing masks. Made me a bit uncomfortable and not want me to stay too long or order from the bar. My sister went previously and didn't have any of these issues, so something might be going on with management. read more
