If I could give this company zero stars, I would. After years of looking for a garage door company, we finally chose this one because they seemed professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Their representative measured our garage, discussed the framing, gave us estimates, and never clearly explained that we would need to hire a separate contractor for the framing. We are homeowners, not garage door installers, so we relied on their guidance and expertise. On installation day, we were shocked to find out the framing was not included. When we asked about it, the representative was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Since we had already paid a deposit, we felt stuck and had to spend extra money hiring another contractor. The only reason this review gets one star is Mike, the installer. He was honest, professional, respectful, and genuinely tried to help. To make matters worse, after we paid our balance in full, the office contacted us claiming they had not received the payment. After my husband provided proof, they admitted they had received it and confirmed our account was paid in full. Then a few days later, both my husband and I received California Preliminary notices for money that had already been paid. My name was not even on the contract, yet I received one too. This company is disorganized, unprofessional, and poorly managed. Communication is terrible, mistakes are blamed on the customer, and nobody seems to know what is going on. I'm really confused to see such a low rating for this company. One of my neighbors use them in the past and had a great experience and referred them to me after I had another company come out and tell me that my motor needed replaced. Burgundy answer the phone and honey she was not just a receptionist, she was well informed on garage doors. I explained to her my situation and she gave me some options. I can tell the other guy was messing with me on price. She was very transparent. Within three days I had an appointment Noe had a two hour window. He called me before the two hour window and let me know it would probably be closer to the end of the window. I appreciated that communication. He also let me know when he was in route. He was efficient and tidy, and helped me program everything that went along with the new motor. He also explained everything to me that I needed to know. Service was great. My garage now works perfectly. And it's so much quieter than it was before. And it was $200 less than what the other guy was gonna charge me. I would definitely use them again. read more

Last week, l drove to the Overhead Door shop in Rancho Cucamonga. I met one of the managers (Mike), and explained my request for service on my (2) garage doors they installed in 2017. My doors still work fine, but the back-up battery pack required service, and since it had been (8) years since original install, l also requested a routine service inspection. Mike was quite helpful and courteous in setting-up my service request. On the day of my service, Service Tech (Noahie) arrived on-time, and also provided great service on my older-style back-up battery unit, which required some modification to fit the newer style batteries. I appreciated his knowledge and experience. Overall, great professional services provided by both Mike & Noahie. Our installer, Gustavo, was simply wonderful! He's passionate, knowledgeable, a natural at his job. Our garage is in rough condition and I really couldn't see the vision or possibility of installing a new motor and what not, but miracles do come true, he was able to install the garage and motor perfectly. It's been a few weeks and we haven't had a single problem, it's just been smooth sailing. I'm confident that if we do have any issue that they will be able to help out. Megan was extremely helpful with coordinating everything. I think this company is great, not perfect but seriously no one is perfect nothing is 100%, but they are pretty close to perfect. Pricing is really fair, reasonable. For the quality of service and products, I think it's super fair. As with any company, be patient and kind- yelling and demanding in a derogatory or mean way does not solve anything, I say this because companies are backed up right now and people have unrealistic expectations of time frames and being pushed back or delayed. Our install was delayed by a week, processing and booking was a little slow- it did not effect us negatively because we understand and know what kind of pressure contractors are undergoing right now due to the housing crisis. I'm sharing this so you will have a realistic idea of why things are delayed at this moment in time. It's not just this company, it's happening to all contractors. We found this company through a mailer, didn't bother reading reviews- just called and booked an on-site visit. Elias came out and was so kind and knowledgeable. I should have read the reviews before using this company. My dislikes are; - Started project past original due date (approx three weeks late) - door broke three times after installation (to their credit fixed it next days after breaking or reasonable time) - one of the breaks damaged my ceiling, because the new door is heavy glass and the bolts for the ceiling weren't replaced from the original door. The door itself is beautiful and the price seems fair. Just didn't like have to call multiple times to schedule and fix the door. Majority of the reviews aren't positive for a reason. read more

They installed all the garage doors and fireplace for my house. After 16 months, one of the cable is bad and stops the door from closing. They fixed it and the same cable broke again in 2 months and then another one in 3 months. After 3 times of repairs, they don't answer my call anymore. The fireplace' remote stopped working and they sent someone to take a look for $150. They said the remote needs replacement but the remote is a discontinued item. They took the $150 and just wish me good luck. These people are truly unethical and unprofessional and please avoid them. read more

Our garage doors (we have 42) were installed by a few different people from this company. David (one of their installers) is the best, he's the man. Any issues we have had both during and after installation are promptly handled by David and we can't thank him enough. Even over the phone we can solve most of the issues when David walks us through the troubleshooting. Save yourself the time! I think this is the first time that I ever write a negative review but I feel like it's never been so well deserved. Everything sounded too good to be true, they were a good bit lower on the price than everyone else, and their rep Jorge came over to assess the garage, seemed very competent and knowledgeable, also very responsive through email - BEFORE I ordered. I put in my order with him and the door was supposed to arrive 4-5 weeks later. Then the responsiveness took a good dip, it was hard to get a hold of him. My worker guys prepared the garage opening to match the requirements after Jorge had measured everything, only to come by a few weeks later to tell me that the header needed to be a few inches lower. So my workers had to redo the header section again. Multiple times I asked for an ETA for the garage door so I can schedule with flooring guy, window and AC installations - nothing. No response. Every time I did get a hold of him, he told me he was on the way to the manufacturer and would call me back in the next 30min. Never returned the call, not once. Once we hit 5 1/2 weeks of waiting time, Jorge dodged every single call. I had to call the company to find out that the order wasn't put in until a few days ago, almost 6 weeks after I ordered!! New ETA was at 6 weeks from now, like WTF!?!? He simply never ordered the door in the first place, and then tried to argue that the header needed to be lowered. What happened in the 5 weeks before that.. no one will ever know. The company manager and also the owner were not apologetic at all, literally saying it wasn't a big deal. Yeah right! He was even being condescending to my wife on the phone. So we threatened to drag them to small claims court if they didn't cancel the order immediately and refund us the advance. Regarding the reimbursement they said that well, it has to be Jorge who has to initiate the refund and it has to go through several instances to be confirmed. And if Jorge picks up his phone he'll let him know, and if not, well then it basically has to wait. What a shit show of a company, excuse my language, but it's unbelievable they're in business at all! This is a bunch of shady businessmen who honestly just can't do any better I think. And to top it off, later on I found out that it wasn't necessary to lower the header in the first place, it could have been done using 3 1/2 degree tracks, so wow, great knowledge on their end! Bottom line, don't waste your time and nerves, you'll regret it 100%. Even typing this feels like a waste of time and oxygen but I feel obligated to inform people about this conduct of "business". If anyone is looking for alternatives, I ended up going with Garagedoors4less, they had competitive prices and their rep was incredibly nice and their office on top of things regarding the order. We are STILL waiting for replacement panel to replace damaged panel they installed. Purchase was made 1/30/21. Install was 5/12/21. It's been 2 1/2 months since the install and they still have not replaced the damaged panel that they installed damaged. And, they can't give us an ETA for the replacement. This company is good at pointing fingers and playing the blame game! UPDATE: received a very incoherent text message from the service manager of the local distributor we've been dealing with stating, "I spoke to my rep and the national manger of sales and was unable to get a straight answer from them. Absolutely horrible company to deal with. After giving them a $1500 deposit for a door, they delayed my installation over 4 months longer than initially quoted, and every time I called, texted, emailed to understand what was the status of my door, they rudely treated me as if I were being unreasonable and badgering them. After 6 months when they finally did send an installer he said that my garage wasn't ready for installation, although Jorge the salesman gave me no indication that I needed any improvements when he visited my home to give me a quote. Only by incessantly calling them did I get the installation finally completed. They will treat you rudely, provide slow and inconsistent service, and give you the runaround on installation times. However they are quick to come out and provide an estimate and take your deposit. Stay away. read more

Update: The general managers response says if all. Three months after the fact and the same confusion of facts. Each door sent was damaged the small 'scratch' on the last door was a gash about 8 inches long His attempt to also to reshape the facts about the garage door I ordered is comical. On the order form it states 'insulated' they tried to pull a fast one here as well. Of course one update after my review is the spring was improperly installed and it all had to be replaced at Tuff Shed's cost which they passed along to this company. Which I am sure is driving this managers response. Response: Damage was just cosmetic states the manager! Yes because that's okay right? hard to say I was 'taken' by another company considering the wayne Dalton spring was incorrectly installed by this garage door company and this is all documented. the spring broke thanks to overhead door's lack of training. According to Wayne Dalton techs have to go through a program to be trained on their proprietary spring. FYI it was Wayne Dalton and their authorized installer who came out and replaced the faulty spring which broke after just a couple of months. diagnosed it as a bad install, in any event it was faulty, But what does the truth matter? as far as the doors the door I kept that has a dent on the top exterior panel and the middle interior panel and the bottom exterior panel did not have the 'gash' once again confusing the issue. the subsequent doors sent out (there were two) were in far worse condition. one having the aforementioned gash. overheads tech stated we couldn't mix and match the panels. but once again what does the truth matter? Then there are the multiple skipped appointments (which I took off work for) and their attempt to pull a fast one by swapping out the door with a non insulated model though that's what I ordered and is clearly on the paperwork. this is all documented with phone calls and Emails. they have poor customer service and their continual responses and personal attacks are unprofessional and really speaks to their treatment of a customer. Poor customer service! We've been waiting for over two weeks for our garage door to be replaced. They first showed up unannounced with the door, of course we weren't at all ready to have the door installed. They said they would call to reschedule but never did. We are constantly trying to get an update and a scheduled time to install the door, and just get the run around. The phone rep (Terry) blames the technician, says she will call us back but never does. Finally got a time slot after weeks of waiting between 12-4pm. Took time off work to be sure I was available and they never showed or called. Meanwhile, our garage is wide open, welcoming creatures and thieves alike. Avoid at all costs, find a reputable business that cares about the customers. This place is the absolute worst!!!! read more

Shaun and David came out to replace my garage door. They got it in working order and where connecting my new openers the garage door motor stopped working (it's only 1 years old). They couldn't fix it at that moment but contacted the garage motor manufacturer and determined that the motor needed to be replaced. Shaun came back the following week and replaced the motor quickly and adjusted the closure height of the door perfectly. Both Shaun and David were extremely polite, responsive, knowledgeable and kept my garage neat. Excellent guys to work with. read more

We bought a door from overhead door company. A very expensive door. Nearly $9,000. Within two months one of the glass panes had shattered for no apparent reason. After many inquiries over a period of four months we were finally informed that the Overhead Door Company does not warrantee glass. The gentleman who did the installation has kindly offered to replace the glass. But we are not sure how we can match the custom tint. I realize that few people ever buy more than one garage door in their lifetime so repeat business isn't that big of a deal for the owners of the Overhead Door Company but I would imagine that positive reviews and referrals are.
