I went here after calling about a new pair of specific tires for my car. The said they had them and offered a great price. When I arrived, the man who I spoke to on the phone greeted me, and I again confirmed with him that I wanted brand X tires. They went to work. Thirty minutes later, one of the guys says it's time to pay. While looking over the service papers, I noticed that the tires written on the sheet were not the tires that I specifically requested. The man tells me that they do not have the tires I wanted -- however, he says the ones they installed were just as good as the ones I wanted. HA! The entire reason I came to this place was to buy a specific tire! I asked them to put my old tires back on, and I was on my way to a more reputable place. What a waste of time! Today, I paid $35/ea for a pair of matching 17inch tires for my daily driven car. The $35 price included mounting and balancing, and they did it very quickly! They inspected my other tires on the car, and showed me that one of my tires had steel belts showing on the INSIDE! My car is kinda low, and the wheels are cambered in a little bit (Google 'negative camber' if you don't understand) Damn! Good looking out, Van Nuys Tire! They rotated my tires so the newer ones were up front (important for steering), and the older ones were in the rear (the rear tires don't really matter as much). I'm waiting on 4 new tires for my car to arrive in the mail pretty soon, so I'm definitely taking my new tires to Van Nuys Tire to have them mount/balance them for me. I was sold 2 used tires for $60 each and since I was in a hurry didnt noticed until I left that the tires were from 2011 and both have cracks from the wall. I had a great experience at this shop today. let's take it from the top. I started my journey coming from the 101 and had stopped at Sherman oaks tire pros first because they were closer to my house, and like van nuys tires, they had good reviews. Well I was barely greeted by and old man that was more interested in his cell phone than a possible customer. I asked if he would mount and balance my tires, he asked if I bought the tires there, I said no, so he said no. No skin off my back. I headed over to van nuys tires next where my experience couldn't have been any more different. I was greeted courteously with a smile by a gentleman in the service area, and when I asked if he would be willing to mount and balance the tires I brought in, he didn't hesitate to say yes. About 40 minutes later (they were slightly oversized mud tires, a blast to try and balance I'm sure..) they were installed and ready to go. And yet there's more! he even had an extra mud tire in the same size as my new mud tires for a spare, score! Excellent service, friendly people, great experience. The end! read more

If it's close, maybe. Not worth the drive for me. You get what you pay for. Had a set of tires I needed mounted and balanced on my 4x4 SUV. Big O wanted 25 bucks a tire. Called here and told the guy on the phone I needed four tires mounted and balanced. He yelled at some guy in Spanish in the background, who told him "Quince". Fifteen bucks a tire, he said. No appointment needed. I got up first thing in the morning and drove through Tuesday morning traffic to get there. When I got there, I was greeted by a guy who told me twenty bucks a tire, mounted and balanced. I told him the guy on the phone told me fifteen. I didn't feel like finding another place after driving all the way there. Fine, do it. I had no problem paying twenty bucks but someone needs to figure out what you charge for a common and routine job. They go right to work. Tires mounted and balanced. No shaking or drifting. Drive it home and notice that one of my metal valve stems on my wheel is now made of rubber. I'll just deal with it. Didn't feel like driving all the way back to resolve it. Need to get some tire work done to my Jeep, too. Likely, I will go elsewhere. read more

This place did a nice job and the customer service was great! I needed a tire repair on Sunday afternoon and this was one of the only shops I found open by me. I was in and out in less then 15 minutes. I didn't give them five stars because the price they charged me was a lot higher than any other place i've been to for the same repairs. However I was able to get it fixed on a Sunday and the wait wasn't long at all. So I guess it was well worth the extra money I paid. read more

I've come here twice in the last year and a half when 2 different tires blew, each time has been great. I came in today to bring in my 2016 Honda Civic after it blew a tire, no appointment or anything, I was out the door in about 20mins with a great used tire for only $55-it's been about a year and a half since I first came in and got my first used tire and that sucker is still holding up perfectly. These guys are fantastic. We had hit a pothole with our Mercedes, wasn't bad enough that it cracked the wheel & needed to replace that, but 5 mos later the tire showed a side bubble & needed to be replaced. After getting crazy quotes for a new tire, I called Van Nuys Tire, talked to Jorge who told me they had the exact tire with about a year's wear on it (which was better than the other tires on the car) & replaced it in 10 minutes while we waited. Very reasonably priced and very fast service. These guys are different than any tire shop I've ever gone to because they don't try to oversell you on tires. They give you exactly what you ask for and charge much less than any tire shop I've been to before. My family and I have been using these guys for years. I've gotten nails in my tires where other tire shops said they were not able to be patched and when I took my car to these guys they were able to patch and save the tire and the patch is still holding strong years later. I had a hole in my tire it was just about flat. I pulled in and 5 or 6 guys was on one car, one tire. A waved to get the attention of someone. Told him there was a hole in my tire. He looked at me with a straight face and said, "$30". I asked again to confirm and he was sure that it would be $30 to plug my tire. I pulled off with the quickness. I rode all the way to my usual tire shop. I can get a good used tire for that price. It's only $10 to plug my tire with them. read more

Came here today for a second opinion and I'm super happy I did. I originally went to Pep Boys on Sepulveda trying to fix a flat tire with a nail in it - they wanted to charge me almost $300 for a new tire since they said my flat tire couldn't be repaired due to sidewalk issues. Martin over at Van Nuys Tire actually removed the tire (Pep Boys didn't) to see if in fact it wasn't salvageable. He said the tire was fine. I've been to this tire shop numerous times and every single visit has been excellent! I can't say enough good things about the guys here. I usually stop here if I have a flat. This morning, I thought I had a flat again because my tire light came on after inflating my tires the night before. The guy checked it out, and turns out no problem with the tires, I had just over-inflated! He fixed the pressure and sent my on my merry way at no charge.
