The first place we tried was Just Tires in Sherman Oaks and the price quote was something like $200 worth of repairs because they claimed he needed a new tire and that his alignment was off. We were both a little skeptical because he had just taken his car to his regular mechanic and the mechanic did not mention any of these issues. So we left Just Tires and yelped other tire places in the area. We took a chance on Van Nuys Tire and were very pleased with the services. Came here after I received HORRIBLE service @ Sunrise Ford & Quick Lanes. Originally, I had made an appointment with Sunrise Ford Service Center for oil change and tire repair. Despite the appointment, they were too busy. Told me to go to Quick Lanes for tire repair (no oil change cuz my "Oil Change" light was not on). At Quick Lanes, they didn't fix my tire but tried to pressure me into purchasing 4 new tires by using scare tactics. MAJOR TURN OFF! This place was recommended by a good friend. Got my tire repaired for $20 and they did it very quickly. I was told my tires did NOT need to be replaced just yet. Got a quote for new tires just to get an idea on how much to save. George (owner Jorge's son) was very polite and knowledgable about tires. Quick Lanes quoted me $1,325 for my ultra high performance tires (20k mi warrantee). When I balked, they quoted me $1,035 for all season tires?!! George quoted me $578 for the tires he recommended (high performance, all season 70k mi warrantee). At first I was leary of the quality of such a price difference. But kudos to George for explaining to me why he recommended those specific tires and how they would benefit my specific car. Then, he gave me a website (Tirerack.com) to check out the reviews on those tires. If I saw another set I liked better, he would provide me with a quote on those as well. Bottom Line: good customer service, no crap, no shady business, no frills but good prices and knowledgable about tires (not just American brand tires). read more

Went to Astro tire first because it was closer and he was a one man shop and told me to come back an hour later to repair a flat. Saw Van Nuys Tire on Yelp so I went here instead. Very professional and very fast. Removed my tire and repaired it the correctly from the inside (not using a tire plug) in less than 15 minutes. No scratches on my rim and threaded lug nuts on by hand before tightening. Even cleaned my rim and checked all my tire pressures before I left and all at a reasonable price. read more

Walked in to my get tired patched. They told me it's 5 dollars to look at it and 25 if they need to patch it up! Lmao. I've gotten plenty of tires patched for free. I tell this to the manager he gives me an attitude like I'm crazy. Well half a mile away at the American tire depot they do it for free. So if you need a tire patched. I had the best experience here. I had a tire issue and took my car to the local Pep Boys. Sure, they fixed it, found a nail in my tire and did not charge me..... BUT they missed a second nail. I live close to Van Nuys Tire so thought I would give them a shot. As I arrived, they motioned for me to back the car in immediately, they took the tire off (Pep Boys did not do that!) and found the second nail. It was done so quickly and very professionally. Drove in at around 8:30AM with a spare tire bolted onto my car in the rain. I was greeted immediately by a guy named Max who looked at the tire in my trunk and immediately found the defect in my tire. The rupture was too close to the side wall, so he said it couldn't be repaired. He said if I'm in a pinch, they had used tires available for a decent price. I agreed. He pulled the old tire and rim out of my trunk and started working on it. He said there was someone ahead of me (in the garage) and to park in an available spot. About 5 minutes later, another guy guided me into the garage so they could put the new tire on my car. The guy pumped up my spare tire a bit since it was a little bit flat too, and then put on the new (used tire). He and Max told me the tire would tide me through the life of my other back tire (about 5 months). I paid my bill by credit card and then asked Max how much new rear tires would be when I needed to replace them completely. After asking me some questions about my driving habits made some suggestions and told me about the different tires they would have available. Mine weren't currently available, so he advised me to call before coming in for the new tires in the future. All in all, Van Nuys Tire provided fast, polite, and honest service, during a busy rainy morning. I will very likely purchase new tires from them in the future. read more

Van Nuys Tire has saved my ass 2 times now, first by being open on a Sunday and being the only place apparently in the greater Los Angeles area to carry 4 of the size tire I needed, and the second time I completely demolished a tire and they got me in and out in under 20 minutes so I wasn't even late for work. I got 4 odd sized tires (stupid Saturns) in brand new condition for under 200 bucks! And if you are like me and think tires in Los angeles are basically a racket anyway (Im fairly convinced the tire industry and LADOT have some deal going), you won't find a better price or nicer people to help soften the blow of needing new-ish ones every 6 months. I bought a tire here about a month ago and it is already starting to crack and it needs to be replaced. I called them to ask what they could do for me since it's only 30 days old and he told me that there is no warranty or guarantee on these tires. I was overcharged initially because I'm a woman and for some reason all body shops up charge me no matter where I go. Customer service is whack. Unhelpful with no resolution.
