This place is a Dallas landmark, institution, and must-go! Had lunch yesterday and it was fantastic. Had the big hot dog "Big Fat Frank". Amazing! Perfectly gridled dog and just right amount of toppings-cheese, chili, onion. And it is big! Truly foot long. Service beyond perfect. Friendly. Didn't hover but paid attention. And we asked for more things (ranch for my sweet potato fries; buddy needed salsa for her taquitos). Server promptly helped. Environment is casual and cool. Too hot to enjoy the patio (have done so in the past). I've eaten here several times and always pleased, full, and appreciated. And they have plenty of parking unlike other places in this area. We stumbled into Ozona for the first time in several years on a Monday evening and had a great dinner with terrific service from our waiter, Malichai. The Monday margarita specials are a serious value, and they're till 7 PM. Happy hour here is a true bargain. It was too hot to sit on the patio today, but when it cools down, we'll definitely sit outside. They added a huge TV screen outside, which was really impressive as well. read more

I took my boyfriend here for the first time to try the amazing cheeseburgers and it didn't disappoint. I love this place and I even forgot how good the queso and burgers were! Our server Malachi was beyond helpful and attentive. He informed us that our queso and salsa was on happy hour special which was great as well! He was very sweet and I would for him to be our server again. I freaking love this place and sitting on the shady patio with fans is a must. Great parking in Dallas. Awesome outdoor seating areas, separated into multiple sections. Very attractive. Interior is a typical bar. But it is spacious and well laid out. Went to Ozona's for breakfast. Main reason being we wanted a good Bloody Mary with our breakfast. Haven't been here for years! Great Bloody Mary bar with everything you could want. We sat outside and they have a huge patio. Very dog friendly and lots of dogs. And a big screen TV for watching football. I ordered the West Texas Eggs Benedict with chorizo. It was very good but I would probably order something different next time. Hubby got the Migas. He said they were really good, I definitely want to come back and try the lunch or dinner. I went there recently for a quick lunch before a doctor appointment. The server was nice, but seemed extremely determined for me to order an appetizer. Until I left, he kept asking me if I wanted an appetizer. I said no. Its that simple. I also asked for Raymond to be my server, but was told he wasn't there. A few minutes after sitting down, I see Raymond. Oh well. Food was good, but the incessant asking of the appetizer really made me question why I came here. We had a great time at Ozona. We had reserved a room for a medium size group and several didn't show but our waiter, Raymond, was amazing nonetheless. He was so fun, and funny, and treated us so well. He was Jonny on the spot for food and drinks and made sure we all had what we wanted and needed. Such a chill spot to hang out at. I loved all the outdoor seating/beer garden vibe that it was giving off. We went here for a work lunch so we sat inside. I hadn't been to Ozona in about 15 years. It was previously a family staple until we moved. On my return visit, I found the food delicious and the service excellent. My mom and I were there on a Wednesday afternoon, so it was a bit slow, but the Olympics were on and we were entertained. I had the spinach and cheese quesadillas- so incredibly delicious with fresh spinach. My mom had the spinach salad and those jalapeño medallions are insanely yummy . We had a great time. Established in 1992.

The Dallas location of Ozona Grill & Bar was opened in 1992. It was formally Cardinal Puff's which was known for its patio and beer specials. Keeping with this tradition, Ozona offers a beautiful award-winning patio and excellent daily drink specials. In 2003, we opened the College Station location. Located in the Wolf Pen Creek Greenbelt, Ozona has the nicest patio in College Station! Ozona Grill & Bar is owned by Ford Restaurant Group. Ford Restaurant Group is owned by Lynn and Creed Ford. Other restaurants in our group are Elite Circle Grille in Waco and 2 locations of Ozona Grill & Bar (Dallas and College Station). Ford Restaurant Group is also the parent company for Rudy's BBQ.

The food itself was still good, which is why I'm giving it three stars, but between the uncomfortable seating, tiny table, and lack of attentive service, it wasn't a very pleasant dining experience overall.

TOTALLY DISGUSTING STAFF. HORRIBLE MANNERS. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. FOOD IS JUNK. "CASUAL" SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH "DISGUSTING/LAZY" Easily the worst experience myself and my girlfriend have ever had at a restaurant. We were "greeted" at the door by a person wearing saggy blue jeans and a plain white baggy shirt. After sitting, a dirty looking man(our waiter, we thought), popped out of nowhere, failed to say anything to greet us, and simply said "What do ya'll want to drink?" My girlfriend ordered a Skyy Vodka and 7. After waiting for too long only for drinks, the Skyy and 7 that my gf ordered was served in a huge glass, and she couldn't taste vodka, obviously not what she ordered. Then, a disgusting looking woman(our waitress) shows up smelling from a DIRTY wineglass that she had picked up from another table...WEIRD. My first impression was that she was on something, not all "there". We discuss the drink further, she finally said she would replace it with another one. She then shows up with the drink(now wearing sun glasses, though it was raining, and after the sun went down). Time to order food (which she did not write down). I ordered a burger and fries, with a side of BBQ sauce. The food was brought by yet another "dirty" looking man, and I asked him for napkins, he said "okay"(and he never returned). The BBQ sauce was not given to me. Our random waitress finally brought it...it was KETCHUP!..NOT BBQ SAUCE?! The burger was too big to eat, soggy bun, burned though I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. The fries were undercooked and nasty. All the while, watching as the host walk by showing his underwear from his sagging jeans as we ate. And after much wait(And there's no way she was busy, because the place was dead) the bill was wrong. She double charged us for vodka, and SHE became annoyed! We then did not receive a voided ticket that showed that the credit card trans. from the first one had been taken off. And the waitress became an even bigger WITCH WITH "B". I then ask for a manager. The manager looked like an adult film star and showed ZERO managerial skills when talking to a customer. Place has potential, but fails miserably. Dirty Staff. Expect a lot....GET NOTHING IN RETURN. DO NOT GO HERE. My father owned many restaurants pretty much just like this one. He would fire(or never hire) a single employee that we saw at this place. Every male there needs to SHAVE and/or SHOWER. DRUG TESTING would do wonders for this place. The "manager" we spoke to, was a ridiculous excuse for a person in charge. He spoke without making eye contact, he failed to introduce himself, he talked down to us, etc. This place needs help. So for the entire meal..including chips and salsa, burger and fries, a grilled chicken plate, and a Skyy and 7....the meal was 29 dollars(not including tip). After a long week at work I wanted to treat myself to something special before the new week started all over again. I choose Ozona Grill & Bar off of Greenville Ave a place I had not been to in a while. I went there to get their famous chicken fried steak and it did not disappoint. As good as my food was the two young ladies that attended me were equally and maybe even more impressive than the food. Kaylee and Rashawn made my experience at Ozona's more than pleasurable. Both ladies made sure my water glass was always full. The brought out my dinner salad quickly and with a smile. My main course came out at just the right time. They always made it a point asking me if I needed anything. As they were cleaning up around me I said I would take the check so I could get out of their way. They said I will get the check if you want but please stay as long as you would like and enjoy the Cowboys game. The kindness and respect Kaylee and Rashawn showed me might have gone unnoticed by many or someone could say well that is there job but the spirit and attitude to their service to others goes unmatched. Omg! I heart Ozona!!!! Not only do they have the most amazing patio. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. You have to go on Sat and Sun brunch and try the build your own bloody mary bar. You'll thank me later. I keep reading all the negative reviews on this place and am so confused because it's ALWAYS packed. I honestly think some of these people have unreasonable expectations. This place has delicious southern down home food, great drink specials, and a relaxed family/friend atmosphere. This isn't a haughty taughty ritzy place. You can come here with your co-workers (like i usually do) enjoy a delicious chicken fried chicken and gossip for 5 hours straight. And no one is going to pressure you to get up and get out (believe me I've done ot before lol). To me this is the best family/friends restaurant/bar on greenville. The food was superb along with the delicious mimosas. This place is definitely a treasure in Dallas. I took my date with me last week and Manny gave us the best service I received anywhere. Even though the place was super busy, Manny was super attentive, kept our drinks refilled, and introduced to me to my new favorite Dallas drink(The Ozonarita)!! I just recently visited this establishment begrudgingly, because I had noticed a decline in the quality of food. On my most recent visit, my opinion has totally changed. I was given the most exceptional service from a lovely Latino server named, Manuel. He was so knowledgeable of the menu. He gave excellent menu recommendations that were of superior quality. The margarita recommendation he suggested was incredibly marvelous. The Mickey's Margarita was so extraordinary, that it made me forget how subpar the salsa had become in recent years. This Preston Hollow location maintains that quality though is far less busy than the Lovers Ln (Highland Park) restaurant. The staff are always extremely friendly and we see the same staff over and over, which is always a good sign to me. We've gotten to know some of them by name, and they are always very sweet to our children. It feels like a small town where all the staff take care of you and your kids. The food is also my favorite. For appetizers, their salsa dips come in green (with avocado chunks), yellow, and red. It was an acquired taste for me. Their queso (white) is my favorite of any restaurant anywhere, ever. For food, my wife and I typically get the combinations - which include an enchilada, brisket taco, rice and beans. We order the chicken tender kids meal and it's excellent. My wife and I "help" our son with his food because it's that delicious too. My other favorite is the Pollo la Brasa (it's a tender rotisserie chicken chicken over grits of sorts and red sauce. It's such a feast. Their salads are excellent and massive too. (You can order a half portion as well.) For drinks, they also shine. They do not seem to skimp. I like the La Doña. My wife likes the Santo (similar to a Mambo-Taxi at Mi Cocina). For dessert, we love the Cinco Leches cake. So delicious. Their ambience is nicely appointed and the restaurant is always spotless. It has a modern Mexican vibe. They have an outside patio that usually isn't difficult to get seated in. They have an upstairs for catering / private events too. The restaurant overlooks the park area of the shopping center. There are fountains, turf for kids to play on, and giant stairs that kids love to play on. Parking includes valet or parking in the covered parking or surface lots near Trader Joe's. It can be kind of a pain but parking is abundant. It's a massive restaurant and sad for them that it's not more busy, but we do our part to keep them busy!

The only thing was that she asked for ground beef and received half chicken and half ground beef. She ate the chicken but it is not what she ordered. My "top shelf" margarita was very tasty and they made it straight up the way I requested. The wife ordered prosecco but she thinks it was not actual prosecco. But it was good. The food was very good as usual. I really liked my brisket tacos. The meat was tender and the tacos included sautéed onions and peppers. The consume was good but I could have used more consume in a larger container since it was hard to dip a big taco into a small container. The wife really liked her street tacos. The order was generous at 5 tacos. The fajita beef was smoky and cut into very small pieces which made it very easy to chew. She liked the corn tortillas. So, no problems with the food. Our service from Alejandro was also very good. He was efficient and everything came out the way we requested. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the bizarre experience we had getting a table. We arrived about 6:15-6:20. I asked the hostess for a table for 3 and she asked if we had reservations. I said no and she answered no problem. At that time, we were the only ones in the foyer. At 6:30 a large group came and said "we have a reservation" and were promptly seated. They were the only people to enter the restaurant as we waited. That gave me the idea, maybe I should make a reservation, so I went to a popular restaurant reservation app that I will not name and found the restaurant. I asked the hostess if it would helpful if I made a reservation since there was an opening for 6:45. She said no, just give me 5 minutes. So we waited more and nothing was happening. At 6:35 I went ahead and made a reservation for 6:45 and informed the host and hostess of this fact. At 6:43 the hostess said she had a table. With nearly a 30 minute wait I had envisioned a full restaurant and assumed all the tables were occupied. As we entered the main dining room, we were shocked to see 5-6 tables empty, maybe more, I just looked quickly and did not an exact count. But the point is that our wait problem was not a table supply problem. After we were seated, Alejandro appeared immediately so I don't think our wait was a waiter supply problem. I do not understand why we had to wait so long when tables were available and no other people were entering the restaurant. It gets even stranger. The hostess seated us at a table that was directly in line with AC blowing on the table which the wife and kid do not like. The wife asked if we could sit along the wall. The waitress said no because that table was for four people, but she had seated us at a table for four so that made no sense. Then she said that along the wall was reserved for people with reservations, and we reminded her that we had a reservation. She then said she needed "permission" to seat us there so she disappeared. Eventually, she came back and said it was ok. The whole episode was very strange. The seating drama is the reason for 4 stars.
