This is an ok place, the food is above average, the service is not very good. They need to hire more people, 2 people working there are totally unable to serve the dining room. The quality of the fish was good, good luck getting more than a thimble of wasabi and meager pieces of ginger with 3 rolls and nigiri. The water tasted funny too. I think this is probably good as it gets around here for hibachi/sushi. If the service was better I'd give 4 stars, but it made dinner a tedious experience. read more

I am so glad to finally have a legitimate sushi place in the area! We have so much oriental cuisine in Englewood, but no sushi like Ozu. Not only have I got my friends and coworkers hooked on this place, my 6 year old daughter loves it! The sushi is so fresh, my favorite being the Tokyo. Their hot and sour soup is the best I've ever had and you've got to try the Grenade, under appetizers. Along with great food, the service is always amazing and the family who owns it are genuinely wonderful people. I always feel welcome when I arrive and full when I leave. read more

THE BEST IN DAYTON!! I have been eating sushi for 30 years all over the US and Europe. I honestly have to say that Ozu852 rivals the best sushi I've ever had anywhere. It is all about the quality and freshness of the fish and Alan the owner is obviously very selective and knowledgeable, I would say passionate, about the fish he buys. Over the years I have tried the sushi at most of the asian restaurants in the area. In the good old days IZU on Dixie was amazing, until it changed hands and became inedible. My wife and I finally found a really good place in West Chester so we have been driving an hour each way for sushi. They also recently changed hands and the quality took a nosedive. We were once again without a place to have sushi. Then I installed the Yelp app and read all of the 5 star reviews for Ozu852. We have driven past it so many times and never tried it because one would never expect a world class sushi place to be tucked away in a little strip center in Englewood Ohio. From our first bite we knew this would be our second home. We LOVE this place and the quality of the sashimi is off the chain. We have eaten here almost every day since we found it a couple of weeks ago. Im sure our obsession will fade but how lucky we are to have such an amazing place 15 minutes from home!! It is true what the other reviewers have said: a gem, amazing, as good as anything in New York or LA, the people of Englewood have no idea what they have in their own little town.... We are blessed to have this place and I highly recommend it. It has been a while since I posted this review. Ozu852 still offers the finest quality sushi. I am updating because the owner told me today that they recently hired one of the best Chinese chefs from Chicago and now the quality of their Chinese menu offerings has really improved. We've been ordering carryout from Ozu 852 since we moved to Englewood several years ago. Picked up shrimp and chicken lo mein, crab Rangoon, and egg rolls last night. The food is always good. You can dine in too, enjoy the sushi bar or Chinese food, but we've never explored that option. read more

In town for work and found this place on Yelp. Small place but the sushi is amazing. They have some of the freshest fish I've had comparable to Los Angeles and New York. My friend got the Mongolian beef and that was also delicious. It had so much flavor. He is new to sushi but he got a Tokyo roll that he loved and I had the volcano roll with miso soup.
