The aesthetic of this place is very nice. Great for date night or gno. Our server was so kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. We went for Restaurant Week and got the hamachi starter, surf and turf dinner and a dessert for $70. It was all delicious! Will be back.

Pretty good sushi spot! The scallop roll we ordered was not good though, everything else was pretty solid though. I really enjoyed the poke tower, hamachi appetizer, crispy rice appetizer, salmon avocado, negitoro, tekka mango. Fish was quality was really fresh and good. Pricey spot but what spot isn't in SF nowadays. The price justifies the I'd go back though and maybe try the preset menu, my friend got it and it looked like a great deal. The service was kinda meh, they took really long to take our orders and seemed to neglect us a bit. I liked the upscale and loungey vibe of the spot. I'd probably come back!

Ozumo is a great spot for a business happy hour or dinner. They have the bar up front and more restaurant-style seating in the back of the restaurant. Conveniently located in the embarcadero. Appetizers and sushi rolls were all fresh. We had the following: - chicken kaarage - garlic edamame - agedashi tofu - miso cod - hamachi appetizer - eggplant Restaurant is nice and modern and service was really nice.

The chirashi bowl was delicious, it is nicely made with fresh sashimi, shrimp and lumps of crab. It is just enough for a quick meal. They have a lot of food choices. The service was excellent. The place is beautiful and the bar is very clean and open. I recommend visiting this place if you want a relaxing experience.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the sheer lack of effort put into this meal compelled me to warn others. Calling what we were served "soup" is an insult to the concept of cooking. It was essentially warm, unseasoned water with a single, sad piece of seaweed floating in it. My dining partner and I had to use the table's soy sauce just to give the broth a basic level of seasoning and edibility. To make matters worse, two orders of ribeye shabu came with 8 pieces of meat. For what they are charging, the value is honestly shocking. I could easily recreate this exact "culinary experience" at home using random leftover meat, vegetable scraps, and a pot of plain boiling water. I have had bad food before, but bad food usually implies that a chef at least tried to cook and made a mistake. This meal lacked any semblance of effort or care. It is, without a doubt, the most profoundly disappointing dining experience I can recall. Save your money, stay home, and boil some water--you will accidentally make something better.

We were here with a large group of 20 people and we had an enjoyable evening, but a couple of the dishes didn't live up to expectations however. The niku maki (wagyu with spinach) wasn't a favourite - I found the spinach to be overpowering. The black cod dish, which was sold to us as 'what they are known for' wasn't great. We ordered two of them and the dishes looked very different to each other, one of the cods was much more charred than the other. The sauce for both looked different too, which was interesting. But we did love the dohyo (spicy tuna tartare), the glazed edamame had an amazing smell to it and tasted just as good. The fried chicken was also a winner. The service was excellent for such a big group at a busy time and we didn't spend any time waiting around. We would come back, but would probably try some of the other dishes.

Went here on Tuesday for the first time and it was very good. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Our reservation was at 7 and almost all the tables and seats at the bar were taken. We stayed there for almost 2 hours and after 8 it started to clear out. When I say it was busy I had to raise my voice just to talk to the person right next to me. We got a table in the very back where you could see the Bay Bridge and the piers. We ordered multiple things off the menu. Our favorites were the unagi (eel) sashimi, the wagyu roll and the tuna cones. Least favorites were the Buritori Nigiri (yellowtail belly) and the crispy rice. I ordered the crispy rice because I seen other people on here ordered it but to me it was just hard rice with warm tuna tartare Overall it was a good meal and good atmosphere but most of the items on here you can get at any sushi restaurant for half the price and it's just as good. It was $14 for 2 pieces of sushi when you can get a whole roll for $16. I love sushi but there's a point where it can only be so good. I think the bill came out to be about $190 for 2 people. We were full by the end of the meal but we had to keep ordering more to get there. I would probably come back for happy hour if I'm in the area and craving sushi

Came here with my friend for lunch on a Monday and got seated right away. We each ordered the ume nigiri assortment and a scallop roll to share. The nigiri were all good but the scallop roll was the star of the show. Scallop and avocado were both buttery and melt in your mouth. Service took a while since they forgot we ordered the scallop roll after serving us the nigiri. Prices are what you would expect. If you are in the area and craving Japanese sushi, this is a good spot. A lot of business folks come here to eat since it's quiet and a nice restaurant located by the water.

Lobster roll is delicious, and the scallops are divine. The hotate rolls were very on point. The vibe is lovely and the service was unmatched. This place has been here for over 20 years and it does not disappoint. We got a seat right away but the place was packed so we got lucky. I would make reservations if you can.

we tried the sushi tasting and it was okay, but I'm not a huge fish fan so maybe I should've not ordered that. Some were better than the other but the hand roll was very good so I would order that by itself again! we also had cocktails and they were so good! overall I think it was good and the restaurant was pretty but I don't think I would go again.

Ryan served us at the bar and he was fabulous he came through with the recommendations. Let me tell you about the Kani korokke which was a star it was this little perfectly fried breaded ball filled with crab meat and a few kernels of corn. Then the hand rolls both the ebi tempura and the spicy toro were amazing the dumplings huh I could do without. Get the spicy Tokyo Vice we were stuffed m. Ryan was so on it and assisted with recommendations and made sure to check on us frequently. That all day happy hour on Fridays is something to definitely check into.

Came to ozumo for lunch on a Monday with coworkers. Was not crowded and we were seated instantly. Service was very attentive. We got a few rolls to share as well as a bunch of nigiri. I thought the nigiri was very good, fish was very fresh. Sushi rolls were good too, nothing crazy. My favorites were the salmon trio (nigiri) and the ozumo roll. In my opinion the rolls were a bit too expensive for the quality, but still very good. Would eat here again!

Dogs are allowed outdoor and indoor, yup!

Are there heaters for outdoor dining?

Yes, Ozumo has heaters. However, we do tell everyone to dress warm and bring layers. We are located right by the water.

I got the tuna donburi which definitely hit the spot while my friends got the sake donburi, and some specialty rolls. They really enjoyed it! 5/5 for food quality and taste. Now for the reason of 4/5 which I may even opted for 3.5/5 if it were available. We were the first group of 9 to come in right at opening and were told that because we had a large group everyone was required to spend $70. That's not hard to hit considering you're eating out at a sushi restaurant, but the fact that we were told to spend at least $70 a person in order to be seated is crazy! We even asked what was recommended and the seasonal donburi or sake was the most popular. So now we went for those options, but still had to make up the remaining $32 per person that went for the sake donburi. Some people that didn't even want to drink opted for beer because they already got matcha next door. Service charge was already included yet the requirement to spend $70 a person just to dine here is ridiculous. I would come back, but not with a group of more than 4. Anyone that has friends or colleagues of more than 4 go elsewhere!

Unfortunately it wasn't the best uni I've had - the flavor was pretty lacking, but at least it didn't taste bitter or foul. Can't really complain for the price. Most of the other dishes were pretty simple, but very well made. The chicken katsu had a perfect panko crisp on the outside. The udon was handmade with great texture - but had no additional protein besides an egg. My favorite part was the hojicha panna cotta at the end. If you want to avoid a 45+ minute wait and make first seating, you'll definitely want to show up a bit earlier. Between my friends and I, we all ordered our individual entrees but shared some karaage and some yaki onigiris. My wife ordered the mentaiko spaghetti while I ordered their special for the evening -- a salmon ochazuke. The karaage was lightly battered, blistering hot when it arrived at our table, but could have used some salt. The yaki onigiris looked very nicely grilled, but could have sat longer on the grill to pick up a more uniform layer of crispy rice on the outside. The mentaiko spaghetti was the crowd favorite of the night: the noodles were cooked perfectly, the dish was well-seasoned, and every bite was rich, creamy and full of umami. Unfortunately, the salmon ochazuke was one of the worst dishes I've ordered this year; this dish missed the mark on multiple points. To start, the rice was a mushy mess. The last time I had rice with this awful texture was at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck in Oahu. For a restaurant that specializes in Japanese food, I had much higher expectations for the rice. The amount of salmon included in the bowl is criminal. There's no more than a few ounces of salmon so you've effectively paid $22 for a bunch of rice in some broth. If this is the special on the menu on your visit, I would avoid it at all costs. Overall, I left Bon, Nene pretty disappointed. For a place this popular, I would have expected every dish to be a home run.
