Amazing vibes and ambiance with delicious sushi and even tastier drinks! if you're ever in San Francisco in downtown Fidi or Embarcadero try Ozumo you won't be disappointed.

The chirashi bowl was delicious, it is nicely made with fresh sashimi, shrimp and lumps of crab. It is just enough for a quick meal. They have a lot of food choices. The service was excellent. The place is beautiful and the bar is very clean and open. I recommend visiting this place if you want a relaxing experience.

Pretty good sushi spot! The scallop roll we ordered was not good though, everything else was pretty solid though. I really enjoyed the poke tower, hamachi appetizer, crispy rice appetizer, salmon avocado, negitoro, tekka mango. Fish was quality was really fresh and good. Pricey spot but what spot isn't in SF nowadays. The price justifies the I'd go back though and maybe try the preset menu, my friend got it and it looked like a great deal. The service was kinda meh, they took really long to take our orders and seemed to neglect us a bit. I liked the upscale and loungey vibe of the spot. I'd probably come back!

Ozumo is a great spot for a business happy hour or dinner. They have the bar up front and more restaurant-style seating in the back of the restaurant. Conveniently located in the embarcadero. Appetizers and sushi rolls were all fresh. We had the following: - chicken kaarage - garlic edamame - agedashi tofu - miso cod - hamachi appetizer - eggplant Restaurant is nice and modern and service was really nice.

We were here with a large group of 20 people and we had an enjoyable evening, but a couple of the dishes didn't live up to expectations however. The niku maki (wagyu with spinach) wasn't a favourite - I found the spinach to be overpowering. The black cod dish, which was sold to us as 'what they are known for' wasn't great. We ordered two of them and the dishes looked very different to each other, one of the cods was much more charred than the other. The sauce for both looked different too, which was interesting. But we did love the dohyo (spicy tuna tartare), the glazed edamame had an amazing smell to it and tasted just as good. The fried chicken was also a winner. The service was excellent for such a big group at a busy time and we didn't spend any time waiting around. We would come back, but would probably try some of the other dishes.

Went here on Tuesday for the first time and it was very good. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Our reservation was at 7 and almost all the tables and seats at the bar were taken. We stayed there for almost 2 hours and after 8 it started to clear out. When I say it was busy I had to raise my voice just to talk to the person right next to me. We got a table in the very back where you could see the Bay Bridge and the piers. We ordered multiple things off the menu. Our favorites were the unagi (eel) sashimi, the wagyu roll and the tuna cones. Least favorites were the Buritori Nigiri (yellowtail belly) and the crispy rice. I ordered the crispy rice because I seen other people on here ordered it but to me it was just hard rice with warm tuna tartare Overall it was a good meal and good atmosphere but most of the items on here you can get at any sushi restaurant for half the price and it's just as good. It was $14 for 2 pieces of sushi when you can get a whole roll for $16. I love sushi but there's a point where it can only be so good. I think the bill came out to be about $190 for 2 people. We were full by the end of the meal but we had to keep ordering more to get there. I would probably come back for happy hour if I'm in the area and craving sushi

Amazing!! We just popped in tonight and sat in the lounge area. Our server was super helpful with great suggestions and descriptions of menu items. Everyone loved their rolls, I especially loved the midori roll! We all also enjoyed the soy garlic addition to the edamame. Definitely recommend!

Came here with my friend for lunch on a Monday and got seated right away. We each ordered the ume nigiri assortment and a scallop roll to share. The nigiri were all good but the scallop roll was the star of the show. Scallop and avocado were both buttery and melt in your mouth. Service took a while since they forgot we ordered the scallop roll after serving us the nigiri. Prices are what you would expect. If you are in the area and craving Japanese sushi, this is a good spot. A lot of business folks come here to eat since it's quiet and a nice restaurant located by the water.

Lobster roll is delicious, and the scallops are divine. The hotate rolls were very on point. The vibe is lovely and the service was unmatched. This place has been here for over 20 years and it does not disappoint. We got a seat right away but the place was packed so we got lucky. I would make reservations if you can.

we tried the sushi tasting and it was okay, but I'm not a huge fish fan so maybe I should've not ordered that. Some were better than the other but the hand roll was very good so I would order that by itself again! we also had cocktails and they were so good! overall I think it was good and the restaurant was pretty but I don't think I would go again.

Ryan served us at the bar and he was fabulous he came through with the recommendations. Let me tell you about the Kani korokke which was a star it was this little perfectly fried breaded ball filled with crab meat and a few kernels of corn. Then the hand rolls both the ebi tempura and the spicy toro were amazing the dumplings huh I could do without. Get the spicy Tokyo Vice we were stuffed m. Ryan was so on it and assisted with recommendations and made sure to check on us frequently. That all day happy hour on Fridays is something to definitely check into.

Came to ozumo for lunch on a Monday with coworkers. Was not crowded and we were seated instantly. Service was very attentive. We got a few rolls to share as well as a bunch of nigiri. I thought the nigiri was very good, fish was very fresh. Sushi rolls were good too, nothing crazy. My favorites were the salmon trio (nigiri) and the ozumo roll. In my opinion the rolls were a bit too expensive for the quality, but still very good. Would eat here again!

The food at Ozumo was absolutely delicious. It's a shame the Santana Row location near us went downhill, otherwise we'd still be dining there often. This time, we stopped in before a Giants game and enjoyed a sake tasting flight along with a dozen other dishes--everything was fantastic. The vibe was chill and, being a Wednesday night, the restaurant was pretty quiet. Our server was sweet and the runners were all on point. Thank you for a fabulous meal--definitely a million times better than ballpark food. We'll need to come back more often!

The quality is always on point (you get what you pay for) and the process is easy to preorder. The main thing to plan for is the long wait in line to pick up your preorder. In prior years, I've usually picked up on Christmas Eve and the wait can exceed 90 mins to 2 hours depending on when you arrive - this is the case even when you doorbust at opening time. This year, we picked up on the 23rd and arrived around opening time, and it only took 30 minutes. There are also very high quality pantry goods to peruse and purchase, including pasta, mustards, spices, tinned goods, etc. Onto the meat: I preordered late this year so got 21 day aged prime rib roast (would usually aim for 45+ days), but honestly it was hard to tell the difference. I ordered the roast pre seasoned, cradled and tied for ease and it was very high quality, easy to cook and delicious. Shoutout to the very friendly and hardworking staff at Olivier's - I see yall fighting for your lives trying to control that line every year (lol). Thank you for your service!

5/5 -- The Butcher's Board Is the Move…read more Blind Butcher in the Castro is the kind of place that earns its reputation. Moody, warm interior -- think modern speakeasy meets Castro bistro -- with a vibe that works equally well for a date night or a group celebration. We came four deep and zeroed in on two things: the Butcher's Board and the Branzino. Both delivered. The Butcher's Board ($365, serves 3+) is an event. Prime ribeye, filet mignon, rack of lamb, grilled octopus, crispy calamari, truffle lobster mac & cheese, shishito peppers, creamy mushrooms, butcher's potatoes, and toasted ciabatta -- it's a full spread, and every component pulls its weight. The lamb and ribeye especially stood out. Four people left genuinely stuffed, which is saying something. The Branzino ($44) -- whole grilled Mediterranean white fish with kimchi, shishito, olive oil, and lemon -- was the perfect counterbalance to all that meat. Clean, bright, and beautifully done. Service was attentive and the pacing was great for a group. This is a reliable spot that doesn't cut corners on quality. Highly recommend making a reservation and going big -- the Board is absolutely worth it.

The only positive was the food, everyone at the table did enjoy the food. The cons is what made me write this review, it was the service particularly our server/host of the night. I feel if you are spending close to $1k there's a level of service that should come with it. To start, I requested if we could be accommodated at a booth instead not the tables in the entrance, host said they couldn't do that for our party size of 8, which I understood completely at first. But when I went to the bathroom which is in the back of the restaurant, there was a similar group size in the booth area, so that threw me off. Second, we had ordered appetizers, two different salads. When I asked where was the other salad since we only received one, the server said that I didn't order it, I was talking to my friends about the salad not to them, but if I wanted to order it now, they would put the order in. Several people at my table had to process the bizarre response. My demeanor did change completely after that.I got a "bday shot" moments after that incident, it felt like a save face moment. If it wasn't for my friends and honestly placing our food orders I would have left after the appetizers were brought out. I think I would have had a different experience and review with another server. I'm hesitant to give this place another chance. It is a restaurant on the pricier side which is fine, but that means there should be a higher quality of service provided than other less expensive restaurants.

I have neuropathy and walk with a cane, a situation the afternoon staff graciously accommodated, escorting me upstairs in the elevator and allowing me to elevate my feet on a chair. My friend and I enjoyed our leisurely "big splurge" afternoon, with drinks and delicious lobster. When the shift apparently changed, a different employee (the manager?) came to the table, pulled the chair out from under my feet and said it was against restaurant policy to allow this. He was quite brusque. (It's salient to note we were practically the only people in this quite large restaurant, with miles of empty tables around us.) This effectively ended my visit as my feet would soon be numb. My friend had left a bit earlier, so I gathered my briefcase, coat and purse and made my way to the elevator. The wait staff looked on. Filet Mignon is Medium Rare Perfection... Beautiful pink center, warm red ring, crust that had a nice sear. The Bordelaise sauce was rich, slightly sweet, and had that deep red-wine reduction thing going on. But the steak itself had zero salt. The sauce tried its best, but a steak shouldn't need to be drowned to have flavor. M&L Burger. Juicy, But Also... Juicy? That's It. But again: no seasoning. The beef itself was bland. There was a bacon jam or sauce on it that added some smokiness, but when I took a bite without it (just to test), I was met with... nothing. Just wet, unseasoned meat. Parmesan Truffle Fries were legit, crispy, hot, tossed in enough parmesan and truffle. The portion was huge (feeds 2-3 easily). Black Truffle Mac & Cheese. First few bites? Creamy, luxurious, black truffle shavings. But by the fourth or fifth forkful, it got heavy. Missing acid. A little hit of something sour like lemon, would have saved it. Also, the pasta was overcooked. Peaches & Crème Tart was Aggressively sour. The peaches were fine, but the yuzu sauce underneath was so overwhelmingly acidic that it felt like a prank. My face scrunched up like I'd bitten into a live battery. The crème was there somewhere, but it got completely bulldozed. One bite was enough. I left the rest. My dentist would approve.
