I had these folks build shutters for our house about 15 years ago. During a renovation we broke one. They came out, took it away and a few weeks later brought one back and reinstalled it. Love that it still matches all the others in the house and I didn't have to have 2 different brands. Love them so much that finally bit the bullet and just ordered a set of sliding shutters for a sliding glass door we have. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with P&J. After spending thousands of dollars on window coverings, I expected my shutters to arrive in pristine condition. However, I got quite the opposite. My shutters arrived dirty with several smudges, scratches, pin marks, and chipped edges. The installer pulled them right off the truck with no packaging or wrapping whatsoever. I also noticed that several slats were crooked and damaged. Perhaps the holes were drilled slightly off. I reported all of this to management who agreed to ameliorate the issue by having the damaged panels and slats replaced. However, I had to be without some window coverings until the repair was finalized. Today, the installer arrived with the new panels; one of which was still defective (as if it weren't even repaired). I again reported the issue to the office right away. Thankfully, they agreed to allow me to keep the existing/damaged panel while a new one gets made. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait about 4 weeks for the new one, but I'm grateful that I have something on my window in the meantime. Overall, the shutters look good. I think a lot of these issues could have been alleviated if production put forth a better effort in assuring proper packaging for transportation. It would also be great if the shutters were cleaned and inspected for any damages prior to installation. I've used this company before at my previous home and didn't have any issues. The service was great, as was their product. Maybe they've gotten new staff since then. Whatever it is, it clearly shows, and does not leave much room for a positive experience. I should also point out that the front line stuff here isn't the greatest. They lack telephone etiquette and seem very unconcerned with customer related issues. A woman I spoke with (I assume the receptionist) was nice, but seemingly sarcastic when I explained the issue regarding the shutters. She also hung up on me twice before I could even get a "thank you" out. I've referred this company to two of my close friends and now regret it. I just hope they have a better experience than I did. read more

I purchased the blinds from a very nice man that came out to my house. He told me it was a lifetime warranty. It would never fade and turn yellow as they started out white well. They did it is embarrassing when people come over to my house. I called and they told me my warranty was no good so I am not happy with this company. I would not go with them if I were you. When this company tried to make an appointment date, the date was not good for me, so she squeezed me in earlier which was even better.
