Consumer be aware of this business. Paul the owner of this business was not reliable in communicating with me. He did a shoddy job in cleaning my blinds. He picked up 6 blinds on June 25, 2025 and returned on the same day. All of the blinds were damaged. The cords, or the pulleys were misaligned and hard to operate. One blind's swivel stick was broken and not attached to the blind becoming useless. His assistant took a picture to show Paul. After many more pictures and weeks of texting, on August 7, 2025, he agreed to fix the blind. His assistant picked it up and returned it in worse condition after the repair. He said It was the "best he could do." I used his service because he has an ad in the local Your Town magazine listing himself as a Hunter Douglas Sales and Service Rep. I verified with Hunter Douglas and they stated he is not associated with their company as a representative. Hunter Douglas provides training cleaning of blinds and technicians receive CFS training certificate. Paul is not a sales representative, dealer or CFS trained. Paul is misleading the consumer. Saturday 8/10/2024 at around 3:23PM near the off-ramp to 680 on Bollinger Canyon Road, one of your service vehicles nearly hit myself and several other vehicles because they were driving up the wrong way of the off ramp to the freeway. Please teach your technicians to drive before giving them vehicles. I will always condemn your service to others unless I receive a response and action about this matter. This company must have fleet tracking software and can identify the driver with the info I have provided. Had 2 repairs required: 1) Old plastic valance clips on 4 sets of 2 inch wood blinds were brittle, cracked and broken (also no longer available). Paul had a quick fix solution in replacing the clips and rehanging the valances. 2) 1 inch wooden blinds had a broken slat. Paul was able to replace the broken slat in a few hours (8' long blind). On Monday, August 1st I called and left a message to have 3 Bali blackout blinds cleaned at their facility. On Tuesday the 2nd Paul texted me back. I sent him photos and measurements and he quoted me $195 to pick them up, clean them and return them the same day. On Wednesday the 3rd I confirmed that I would like them to do the work. Paul texted he would get back to me later that day to confirm the day and time for work to be done. No response Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or over the weekend. On Monday at 2:20pm I texted asking if they planned to get back to me. He said he could do the work that Friday the 12th and would be at my house between 9:30am and 11am to pick up the blinds. I confirmed that would work and provided my address. Friday morning came and went - no call, no show. At 1pm I texted him asking why he stood me up. Depending on your opinion this maybe too high or too low in rating, but I'll give them 4 stars. The set up for the appointment was extremely easy and the free in home estimate was about a week later. He was there on time and was extremely friendly, quick and answered our questions. The bid came in the next day and while I love their company's ability in doing the job, actually possibly doing the repairs and even cleaning down the line, their bid was slightly higher than some of the other bids. Because of their other features, I emailed them and asked them if they believed their abilities installing a particular shutter in a room could be doable for them since another later bid, didn't recommend a shutter in that room due to the configuration of the shelving being so close to the window and for the fact that the window was slightly crooked. This issue was brought up and to also see if they were negotiable in the bid. We waiting over 3 days for a response and sadly we heard nothing from them, so we decided on another shutter company. Last year on July 13 my duettes in my master bedroom and bath were picked up and rehung by Elliott. Everything was fine except for one window in the bathroom. The duette was damaged! I reported it to Paul and he said he will contact Hunter Douglas for a replacement then get back to me. That was in July 21 and I have not heard anything more from him. The blind cleaning was accomplished as promised. Same day out and in. BUT before I made these arrangements I made sure that they could and would repair one on of my blinds. This amounted to only (from what I understand) a simple part available from the manufacturer. When blinds were returned there was no repair. I was told they would get back to me in about a week and come back and make the repair. They have never returned my calls and as others here have stated they will not call me nor even have the decency to tell me they can or can not repair it. So much for even common courtesy. read more

Paul was responsive when we reached out to get an estimate for some repairs to our woven wood blinds. He offered us options to pick up and repair them OR have us bring it to him. He was reasonably priced and came out to our home to pick up and repair them within a couple of days. He replaced the broken cords and missing loops and reinstalled them the same afternoon. I cannot say enough good things! I called and spoke to Paul about repairing my 15-year-old roman shades. He quoted me a very fair price and sent Elliot out to pick them up (at my request so I wouldn't have to take them down myself) the very next day. Elliot couldn't have been kinder or more professional. The shades were picked up at 8:30am and we scheduled them to be returned and reinstalled at 1:30pm. They worked at first but then they failed. Elliot came the next day to pick up again. He kept in touch with me via text to let me know the status. Paul worked on them but couldn't quite get the tricky repair to be perfect so requested that he be able to keep them over the weekend to work on them some more. I so appreciated the effort as I was not in the market to replace them yet! On Monday, both shades were returned to me and work perfectly. At any point in time, Paul could've given up and just told me that they weren't repairable and sold me something new. After 15 years on the old shades, that would've been perfectly reasonable. But his honesty and integrity shined through and he didn't even charge me anything more than the original quote even though the repair was more difficult than he first thought it would be. Been wanting to write this review for a year - but was holding out to give the benefit of the doubt to this company. However, there was ZERO response from them. We have white shutter blinds all over our house - and had a ton that needed service from many years of wear & tear. They came in and (apparently) fixed all of those areas...plus had to recreate a whole section of blinds in one room bc they were too far gone. Making that new section is the only thing they did right. If you're counting on them to actually REPAIR anything, don't. And when you reach out five times with no answer - don't be surprised. They charged us heavy for the repairs and then honestly nearly 10 areas they supposedly fixed, crapped out again immediately after. I had Hydrotech install Hunter Douglas Silhouettes all throughout my house in 2010. Not only did they do an outstanding job, but they also cleaned all of my windows and window sills as part of the job. I have them come out once a year, take down all of my window coverings, and clean them so they continue to look new. They always have them back to me and re installed by the end of the day. Our experience with Pleasanton Shutters and Shades was great! We shopped/compared all the local window covering stores that carry Hunter Douglas, and had several of them quote the purchase and installation of the 23 sets of blinds we needed. In terms customer service, the sales teams of all were for the most part comparable, however Paul from Pleasanton Shutters and Shades was the most thorough in making sure that we understood the pros and cons of the various product lines, and had the quickest turnaround time from measurement to quote. We also had in mind some very specific spacing between each set of blinds on a few of the banks of windows; Paul and Elliot (the installer) took the time to make sure they understood what we were asking for, and took the time to walk us through the final measurements to make sure they had captured them accurately. In terms of pricing, Pleasanton Shutters and Shades knocked it out of the park, so the decision to go with them was an easy one. The installation was great.
