Buyers, beware of PC Richards rigid return policy!!! I purchased an a/c during the recent heat wave 6/2025. My room size is 154 sq. ft. and I purchased LG 10,000 BTU's. This is more than enough to cool the room. I had a question, and I call the store. A woman answered the phone, and gave me her name, which was very unusual. I asked her 3x what her name was, still did not get it. I asked her to spell it. she said "I just gave it to you!" with an attitude, and refused to spell it. Her name was Zephriah (sp). I asked to speak to a manager, and I got Ziyiriah (SP). I explained the encounter I had with Ziyiriah (SP) she said. "I was there, she gave you her name!" (with attitude) Yes, she gave me her name but, when I asked her to spell it, she refused. In establishments where there are good customer service, employees will proudly say, and spell their names, because they know they are providing quality customer service, and has nothing to hid. Not here! Anyhow, after using the a/c I noticed it took approximately 4 hrs. to cool the room. I called the store 21 times. I was placed on hold, for long periods sometimes 15 -20 mins. I called back. They transferred me to Dan the sales man who sold me the a/c. He place the call on hold never returned to the phone. I called back, asked for Dan, I was told there are no employee by that name. I provided my phone #, they checked my order, Dan was my sales man. Dan came to the phone, told me he would get me a manager. I waited, and waited, and no one came. I called back, asked for Dan. There is no one there by that name. I was very frustrated, I called back, and I got a man with a strong Indian accent. I asked to speak to Dan, He said "No one works here by that name" I said to him "this place runs like a mom & pop shop. I have been trying to speak to Dan, or a supervisor, for the past 11/2 hour. I have been placed on hold for long periods, and no one returns the phone. He said "stop yelling at me, or I will hang up the phone!" I said to him "Go ahead! don't hear me yelling, what you hear is a frustrated customer who has been on the phone for 11/2 hours trying to get help. And by the way, there's a difference between yelling, and speaking firmly" He said "I don't need you to educate me" I said " I will, because you're using words in the wrong context". He disconnected the phone. I called back 7 times. Each time I called, the phone was disconnected. I went to the store, spoke with manager Sarah, explained to her what I encountered, and showed her my phone log of how many times I called, and how many times I was hang up on. She never apologized. She stood there with a stern look on her face telling me that PC Richards do not sell merchandises on trial basis. I said "and I don't buy puss in a bag" I asked for the phone number for corporate, stepped out of the store to my car, then walked back in. I have not had the best experience with the purchase of my stove range. In fact it's been the worst. After having my stove range for a week I noticed rust. I tried calling the store and the service department. Each told me I had to speak to the other one. Once I spoke to someone in service and they were able to help me. They called the store and had them do an exchange. Now the store needs to contact me. I tried calling the store and had to call three times for the sales person to call me back. Even the girl who answered couldn't believe he didn't call me back yet. Once he called me back I thought all was taken cared of. I should get the range in a week. On the delivery date I receive a call from the driver asking if the range was disconnected because they were just picking up and dropping off. I was not happy because I paid $329 for installation and it wasn't my fault I needed an exchange. I called the service department because it was early and the store wasn't opened yet. After I explained what was going on he gave me scenarios on why this could have happened... he actually said maybe it was because I didn't pay the $329 again for installation. Really? It wasn't my fault that this happened. I was able to call the store and explained to a manager (I believe ) who said it was entered incorrectly. She had the sales person call me back. He said he didn't know how it could have happened and I would get the range tomorrow installed. I received the new range today. It's in a new kitchen and my husband moved the cabinet so it would be easier for the installer. When we went to put the cabinet back it wasn't going in... well, the stove has a bulge in it on the bottom left. It's either a return or possibly dropped. I have the pictures attached. You can see the bulge on he left and the bottom piece does not look straight. I need this range in to continue construction on the kitchen. I also don't have the time or the patience to wait for another range. This is ridiculous. I hope it works. I will not be shopping in PC Richards ever again. I have another kitchen to update and will go to Home Depot. I sent this email to customer service a few days ago and haven't heard back yet. read more

Horrible customer service. In 2020 I bought a 55-inch tv. It worked fine until recently. Back in December, right before my 5 year, $400 extended warranty expired, I tried to get a service appointment because there is a line at the top of the screen. I called approximately 6+ times, and each time I was promised a call back, none of which EVER came. Then I got an appointment, but it was for the wrong TV, and I was told I had no service contract and the technician just left me standing there. I called back again 6+ times and was accused of the TV having "impact damage" causing the line at the top which was totally false. This is a 55" TV mounted on a TV stand in my living room. There is no evidence of any damage to the TV. So I called back again after that and was promised a 1-time courtesy service call by management and the woman named Robin would call me back. Of course, the callback never came. I then called PC Richard Corporate and was told basically to piss off by some dope who answered the phone. The crap he told me was beyond ridiculous, they simply do not want to be bothered. I called the service center again, asked for Robin, the nasty woman on the phone told me she was available and to hold on; then she came back and told me Robin would call me back. Of course, yet again, the callback never came. It has been all week now and nobody from PCR has ever called me back- not even to explain why I cannot get service. I am now out or warranty and must but a new TV. Guess where I AM NOT buying my new TV? PC Richard dumbasses just lost a 30+ year customer as I USED TO buy EVERYTHING at PCR. Now, I will never walk into another PC Richard ever again. If you feel you have to buy at PC Richard, do not but the extended warranty, it is a total scam. read more

I have had the worst experience so far... purchased a stainless steel stove and noticed rust on it in less than a week of having it. This was chromium oxidation and a defect in manufacturing. Called the store to report it, they tell me to call service. I call service and they tell me to call the store. I call the store back and they tell me service needs to check it out first. I call service once again... I get someone to help... she told me the store should have been able to help because this was a DOA appliance. It was less than two weeks where I found a problem. She tries calling the store and has an issue as well but was able to get through to them. Now I need the store to help... we'll after three or four calls to my sales person (first name begins with S) I think I'm getting a replacement. It took me at least three times to call the store to get a response. Even the girl who answered wasn't happy he hadn't called back yet. Ok after I think everything is taken cared of and just waiting for he new range.... now I get a call from the delivery asking me if the stove was disconnected. NO... I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with a gas stove that I paid $329 to be installed the first time. This was a defect. Shouldn't this new stove get installed? I called your service and they said maybe since I didn't pay another $329 that may be the reason it's not getting installed. Seriously? That was actually said... ? This is causing total aggravation, I have a floor that needs to be installed tomorrow, a counter top to be installed next week. I'm waiting for something to get remedied from your store. Will it? My A.C recently failed and I needed a new one quickly. I desired a business that was local, affordable, and competent; P.C RICHARDS & SON of Bayside was my choice, and boy I couldn't have made a better decision. Immediately I was greeted by LUIS . LUIS answered all of my questions and concerns in simple, and clear language in a very timely manner. Not once did I feel as if I was being talked down to or disrespected in any way, shape or form. Beyond that, he made sure that I received every discount and rebate I was due. I work hard for my money so I really appreciate when someone can save me some or cut me a deal. When I called the store regarding some concerns over the installation of my A.C, LUIS made sure all my fears were assuaged, even going so far as to get the entire store team involved with my issue; manager and all. LUIS is a top notch individual, hell, he even came personally to my home and delivered a part for the installation free-of-charge in the midst of one of the hottest days of the summer. Not once did he make me feel bad about my concerns. He handled every situation as if it was one that was distressing a member of his family. LUIS truly went above and beyond with my case. We have been a loyal long time customer of this location for many years. When we purchased our home we bought all appliances from this location in 2004. Last week my last appliance stopped working, my installed microwave. As always we went to this store and was greeted by long time sales rep. Barry who along with Brian helped me get a new microwave installed and in my home in two days and also gave me a unit that was currently on sale with free installation. The delivery was confirmed the next day with a time slot of 7am to 10 am. the delivery personnel called at 630 am and was at my door at 7am. The entire installation and complete removal was under thirty minutes. You can always count on this team at this location to get you the best price and the fastest delivery. Also by using my PC Richards card I have months interest free to pay this off!!! They are run by a team of Reps headed by Joe the manager who always greets you and makes sure you are happy with your purchase. You bet this is a fabulous review and no I do not have any family member who works for this location. During the hottest weekend in May I realized I needed two air conditioners. I ran to PC Richard & Son to purchase them. I had a wonderful experience and prepared for my delivery on Tuesday. The air conditioners arrived but where were the men to install them? Well, in my salesman's haste he forgot to set up an INSTALLATION DATE!! By the time I realized this the PC Richard & Son offices were closed. I contacted the store where I purchased the air conditioners in Bayside and spoke to the manager Chris, who was WONDERFUL!!! Not only did he make sure at 5:30 PM to locate two men to install my air conditioners he handled the situation with concern and professionalism. As someone in management myself I always remember that the needs of the customer come first. Chris never stopped assisting other customers and managing his staff while he helped me. As I sit in my cool apartment I wanted to immediately show my gratitude to Chris and his staff at PC Richard & Son of Bayside,Queens. Ironically, now their air conditioning in the store is broken. I have always shopped for electronics and appliances at P.C. Richards. The service center located in Melville is a short distance from my home and the staff there has been nothing short of wonderful. However,the store in Bayside is where I shop. It is a short ride from St. John's University where I have attended classes for years and it has been quite convenient to stop and shop. The staff, particularly store manager, Joe Marrone, are knowledgeable about their products and have assisted me with purchases for years. The store staff know their products very well and make the task of purchasing electronics and appliances a pleasant experience rather than a chore. Stores such as the Bayside P.C.Richards do not just happen. It is managed by people who have molded a staff who not only complete sales but do so in a way that present the salesperson as an ally to the consumer. Very knowledgeable staff and HONEST!!! I had a tv that needed to be replaced cause it was defective; the manager Chris helped not only pick a better tv for the swap but also honored a price match on top of that and literally took the time on helping me out with my situation for the next few days after that!! He followed up every day until my matter was taken care of properly!!! Definitely a returning customer.. and the way this establishment Conducted themselves In a very professional manner was amazing; as I was leaving the store all I could see were smiles from other customers as they were being helped and didn't feel as if they were being pushed to buying a product but yet being well informed about the product and actually taking the time out to explain if that product was best suited for them... it's one of those things you have to be there to see how professional and courteous the staff was!!! read more

This is the absolute best place to buy a car stereo and speakers and have them installed! The store honors all competitors' prices and will even order the product for you if they do not carry it in their store. Their installation prices cannot be beaten and the installer at this store, Pete, does amazing work. You will not find someone who knows more about car stereo sound systems than Pete. His work is meticulous and perfect and he is a consummate professional. I was so pleased with the work Pete did installing my stereo unit and front speakers that 2 years later I returned to have him install rear door and deck speakers. As usual, Pete did not disappoint. The job was done in about 2 hours, just like he said, and I could not be happier. I highly recommend this store and Pete for all of your car stereo installation needs. I use to shop at Circuit City, but when they went out of business I decided to give pc richards a try. I went in there just to look and research what tv I wanted to get, The first thing I noticed was how clean the showroom was and everyone was dressed in a shirt and tie. When I began to speak with a salesperson I realized he was extremely knowledgeable about the product and explained everything that I needed to know about the product with ease. After going to Best Buy, where an 18 year old posing as a salesman who knew nothing about the tv set tried to help me. I realized I should go back to Pc richards. After going back, the salesman not only remembered me, but he greeted my by name. After the delivery ,he even called me to make sure that everything was well. Bought a dishwasher. Installer scratched up my floor and passed it off in his report as existing damage. I was working from home that day for the 2nd time to accept delivery because the first model they ordered for me did not fit (I gave them the existing model in place for a size comparison). I happened to miss the damage upon initial inspection because I was absolutely swamped and couldn't look at every detail at that EXACT moment. PC Richard is now denying liability because I reached out to the store on this instead of customer service. What burns me the most is the installer lying about the damage on his report. NO INTEGRITY. First and last. -Update- Although being contacted by the business manager here on yelp may seem like it shows they're interested in getting this resolved, in reality there was no change at all after following up with CS. read more
