i have bought many appliances from the Southampton PC Richard's for many, many years. I have always received great service and timely delivery. I returned to the store last night in need of a refrigerator, as ours gave up. Living out of coolers is not fun, and having a diabetic in the house just adds to the problems. After waiting for someone to assist me, I was met with a salesperson who really was not interested in anything I had to say. Delivery will take up to 5 days, and when I asked if she could mention the health issues, nothing was said. Next time I will spend the time and go to Home Depot or Lowe's. We have visited the Southampton store in the past and always had a great experience. This time we needed to completely furnish a new apartment with all kitchen appliances, TV, and washer/dryer. We've bought at least a half dozen appliances here - the sales process is always great. We finally needed service for one of the appliances that was under warranty, and wouldn't you know it... after speaking with three different people, all they can do is put us in the queue for the two weeks from now. Which means, of course, I had to put in the time to find someone else and pay out of pocket for them to come save the day. My PCR sales rep even tried saying he couldn't believe I expected them to come sooner than two weeks. Unfortunately, if they can't provide timely (really immediate) service, then there's just no reason to buy from them. It's cheaper to buy online. read more

Recommended a microwave that couldn't fit our cabinets. His prices were over a 1k higher than the second quote. It appears he held back on rebates from the manufacturer. He kept pushing Covid for shipping delays and price increases. In fact he raised the price of the microwave 9 dollars over night due to Covid. I was personally off put by the COVID push. I would have probably worked with him on the pricing, but the Covid push plus PC Richards pricing will never be beat thing. I wish he had , just provided the best price. If you can't do any better say it, and we can move on. But PC Richard price can't be beat was off putting. I ended up using Appliance World. Sure, i had the odd lemon here and there, but the southampton store was always very helpful and got the issue resolved. Would give zero stars if I could. I paid $1200 for a new dishwasher that was installed and never worked. Waited 3 days for the installer to come back out and verify that the machine was broken (which I already knew!!). PC Richard refuses to exchange the unit for a new one or take it back and refund me. I have never had a more disappointing experience with any store. My high-end refrigerator started breaking down while still under warranty and guarantee 4 months ago and I am still without a working appliance. The first service appointment took 4 weeks--a disaster which left us with a worse situation than before--despite the fact that the repairman was there for 3 hours. After waiting another month, a 5 hour appointment left us with no freezer use, no light, and failing cooling throughout. Another month of DAILY phone calls, during which we were given the run around, told we'd get calls back that never came, and transferred from person to person, we have been told that we may be able to get a replacement, but we need to wait another month for a technician to verify the fridge can't be fixed--though the previous 2 have already verified that. That appointment is for Oct 16--another three weeks. I am guessing the approval/delivery process (if confirmed!!) will take another month or more, leaving us with a non-working appliance for 6 months--during a pandemic! Oh,and now the freezer door is actually falling off. Buyer beware. Postscript: We finally have a new fridge, after all these months. After this review and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, things started moving more quickly. However, we had one final bad experience: our delivery of the new fridge featured a hostile man who kept saying that this was a "very big job" and we would need to pay him extra. A call to the PC Richard store made him change his tune but he removed his mask during the job (when we were out of the room) and so spent an hour in our kitchen breathing maskless. And finally, he left garbage on our lawn. We are cautiously pleased with our new fridge, but left with some very bad feelings. The Inconvenient Truth Recently my Husband and I purchased an appliance from the Southampton location. When my Husband purchased it. He dealt with a lovely sales Rep named Dean. Unfortunately, we couldn't say that about the other employees we would have to deal with while waiting for our purchase for delivery. 3 Weeks ago. After being told our order had arrived. We were called and my husband found that the Stove we ordered was a little narrower than we had thought. Causing us to hold off on delivery temporarily. So in calling back the store to let them know we wanted to resume delivery. We were told that since canceling the delivery, we would now have to wait as to whether or not we would still get the appliance as they canceled the order entirely?? After Dean called us back to let us know we would have the stove. We then set up another delivery date. We had to call a couple of times regarding the delivery and did not have the luck with the sales rep we had like we did with Dean. My husband was told by the sales rep who answered, that he was calling at an inconvenient time for him??? What??? Who says that? Unfortunately my husband did not get his name. Had to call back a couple more times before we could get Dean to call us back. Today Saturday Nov 14th was the scheduled delivery and were told it would be between 12pm and 3pm. When 3 pm rolled around and still no delivery. He proceeded to call and check. Where again, he was met by another belligerent customer service rep. This time a female. Who was nasty right out of the gate and proceeded to get angry with him? He was told there are 7 trucks with hundreds of orders going out. We were 21 out of 21 for delivery. Additionally told to check the bottom of our receipt where there is a website where we are to go to to see time of delivery. Which said between 12 and 3pm. It did not pan out that way. She then told him it would now be delivered between 3:15 pm and 7:15pm. And that someone would call a half an hour out from delivery. As I write this review it is 6:57 pm and no call, ( they close at 7pm btw and have been on hold for 15 min ). We have rescheduled our whole entire day around this. Only for ourselves to now be inconvenienced. I would think that customer service would be a little friendlier and helpful after purchasing an item that cost a couple of grand? I will say this...it's now 7:15pm and dealing with the current Manager David Harrison who is super btw. He himself waiting on the 3rd party company they use to let us know where they are at. According to the manager, this 3rd party company did not even call and or update them as to what this 3rd party company status is? Additionally, I would fire the third party company they use as it must be killing their business in addition to their crappy Customer SVC. reps? He was kind, apologetic and understanding. The others not at all. So David gets 3 stars! P.C. Richards...1 (The 1 is because David was able to do the right thing in terms of how he handled the conversation.) We understand that things are a little chaotic with Covid. However, that is no excuse for the attitude we received, and their neglect with customer service. If you like being abused then this is the place for you. If not? Don't bother. Upon completion of this complaint, now 7:39 pm David has left the building. We did not get a phone call back and or our delivery. We will no longer purchase anything from this location until they step up their game in Customer Service. I suggest a training program on how to deal with the public. Horrible business practice. If I did that at my job I would have been fired. I recently purchased a refrigerator. While there was a waiting list, the sales person was able to expedite the order. However, when it was delivered it was not leveled. A second crew was sent, but it still wasn't right. The sales person and manager got involved and it was rectified pronto. Now it is perfect! Kudos to the team being proactive and resolving the issue. The only reason to lose one star is because the showroom only features high end appliances. If looking for mid-range you need to do your homework on line knowing that you may not be able to examine the exact model in person prior to purchase. PC Richard and Sons has amazingly poor customer service. It's almost impressive. I purchased a range from PC Richards on the 8th. The following is the series of events: -They said delivery is not possible with the range. I said I would come to pick it up the next day. I need an LP conversion kit, it is in their inventory -I came the next day. They said that it wasn't ready for pickup, and even if it was I wouldn't be able to move it, so delivery would be required. -They delivered the stove 2 days later. There was no LP kit so the stove was unusable. -I called regarding the LP kit, they stated they accidentally dropped it from the order and it would be delivered the next day. -The next day the LP kit didn't show up, but did show up as delivered. -After several calls, PC Richards concluded that the best way for me to get the part is to order it online from a different company. -I ordered the part today, and called PC Richards to install the kit. -Their soonest available date for install of the kit is next Monday. This means that I will have been eating out for over 2 weeks due to PC Richards inability to sell a range. This isn't a cheap range either. It's honestly mind-blowing. I planned on purchasing the refrigerator to complete the kitchen set, but I don't think dealing with them is worth it. I would absolutely avoid this company if at all possible. read more

We have used this store to stock our home with appliances big and small, tvs, gadgets, etc. for many years. While the in store experience has always been ok (once you finally get someone to acknowledge you) the service department is atrocious - and only seems to get worse with time. We have often had trouble getting a speedy appointment for service. They frequently arrive later than the expected window, rarely with the parts needed (resulting in the need for another visit with another long wait and time off work), and the work is not always complete or satisfactory. Most of our appliances either suffer problems again shortly after or never seem completely repaired. Most recently, we had a dryer delivered. The delivery man told my husband he was finished then promptly stuck his hand out and asked for a tip. Once they left, we discovered they had not connected the vent to the dryer on both ends, just attached the pieces to the machine end and pushed it into place. While we are limited in appliance stores this far East, if you have the time to drive elsewhere I highly recommend doing so. Phone calls and store visits are met with hostility and/or a "sorry to hear that but can't help you" attitude. The customer and repair services from this company are the worst of any company we have dealt with. read more

The worse customer service ever!!!!! I walked in with my husband, none of the salesmen greeted us or offered helped. There was only one other customer in the store who was being helped, so everyone else was sitting idle. Bought a grill there this past month. Not only was the price the lowest or same compared to other stores, but they assembled the grill for free, delivered it for free and offered to pick up my old grill! Everything was very efficient and professional. Getting free assembly and pickup of the old grill is huge. Last year I bought a new TV there and the experience was equally great. I have many GE products. Washer broke. Requested service over 1 week ago. Promised on August 21 Told today it was canceled for no reason and given next appointment for 8/31!!!!! This is despicable customer service and would make me never again purchase from PC Richard or a GE appliance Disgusting and irresponsible. UPDATE 9/25 So PC Richard reached out to me right after this review and nicely arranged service, after ignoring me on the phone. Guy shows up a week later, has wrong part, then tried to reschedule for almost ten days later. When I complained they showed up a week later and fixed the machine finally. Two weeks later I get a bill for over $550!!!! More than several good machines brand new! When I complain they try to first lie and tell me the repair guy told me - absolutely a lie, and can't explain why I was never given a repair quote in any one of five separate emails telling me about the repair person coming. So now I have to fight over this ridiculous charge to fix a 2012 machine A machine that shouldn't have broken anyway! BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT BUYING ANY APPLIANCES HERE THAT MIGHT EVER NEED REPAIR. Currently watching this store give terrible customer service to my family. My mother bought a new dishwasher a week before Christmas, which didn't work when first installed. Error lights indicated that the machine wasn't getting water. When the installers returned to repair the next day, they told us that the water supply was fine (which we witnessed at the supply end of the tubing), and that the machine must be bad. On day three, they brought a new machine, and upon pulling the old one, discovered that it hadn't been installed correctly on the dishwasher end of the tubing. Installed the new machine anyway - and broke the door in the process, which wasn't clear until after it had finished the test cycle. Now we'd like a refund rather than have the same install team come to give it a third try. Now we're "waiting on corporate" to approve the refund. Along the way, customer service offered to allow us to buy a more expensive machine (gee, thanks) and even to waive the installation fee for that new machine, as if it would be thinkable to charge it at all. Thanks, but no thanks. We'll look elsewhere. read more

Anyone want to lend me another ice chest? Because that's how our family has been cooling our food for 7 weeks. The PC Richard & Son saga continued today. After six weeks and countless (broken) promises from Phil, the store assistant manager, the technician who was supposed to fix our 3-year-old fridge/freezer between 7am and 6pm today (SAaturday) never showed up. When we called to complain, David (no one has a last name) told us that the technician had come to our house. Another lie. We were all here waiting. Again. The third attempt to fix the broken fridge after $500 worth of spoiled meat and food. We always buy a full-service repair contract for our appliances from them. We are now entering the 7th week without a refrigerator. Don't buy ANYTHING from them. And don't listen to "Greg" on the phone message talking about the store's "honesty." Called because my refrigerator had a problem; the first person I spoke with ("Nancy") was very kind and helpful. When I called back to follow up, I spoke with a man who was nasty, aggressive and rude - I didn't catch his name - I found his attitude and "roughness" to be quite offsetting. I felt as though he would not have spoken to a man in that rude and aggressive fashion. It is poor customer relations when a salesman is experienced as being harsh and aggressive, and, frankly, I expect salespeople to be polite; I felt as though he was yelling at me and also felt that he was annoyed. This is a management training problem; no female customer should feel as though they are being "yelled" at ... It is not the customer's fault that there is an interruption in the supply chain nor should the customer be spoken to in such a rough and inappropriate fashion. Perhaps this man yells at his family in this fashion --- it is not appropriate in a sales context. read more

He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the TVS and helped us pick out the ones that were best for our family. Customer service used to be great but all they do now if you have a problem is pass the buck and ignore the customer. I would recommend going to a mom and pop store (What PC used to be) for all your appliance needs. I headed to Gringer and Sons (NYC based) the other day where I just purchased two washers and 2 dryers from (for my rentals) because of my lack of faith in PC Richard. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Bought an entire new kitchen from here, including refrigerator, wine fridge, range, microwave and two dishwashers. Miele dishwasher never worked, didn't even run one cycle. It's now going on 2.5 months to get a new one. I have been told every lie in the book and worse off they NEVER return phone calls. Once they have charged your credit card don't expect to get any help or respectable customer service from them. The only time they respond is when you show up in the store after multiple unreturned phone calls and even then it's "I'll have an answer for you by Tuesday" and then never respond. My next stop is filing a complaint with the BBB and dropping off this POS dishwasher in their parking lot. read more

I would suggest you NEVER buy anything from this store. I bought an entire kitchen package and the refrigerator doesn't work. I also bought a very expensive insurance package. Unfortunately PC Richards is not honoring the insurance policy. I have been dealing with this issue for 5 months. I had to move out of my apartment as we can not live w/o a fridge. For the last three months I have been on the phone weekly or daily trying to get it fixed. But the parts are on back order. They will not replace the refrigerator even though the repairman said the refrigerator was shot and I should get a new one but said P C Richards will do everything to keep from giving you a new one. They want to put in new parts and see if it needs a new compressor and if so then replace the compressor and see if that works for a few weeks. It is impossible to get anyone in authority on the phone and no on calls you back even though they promise they will. It is the worst service I have ever experienced. They don't give a damn and will do everything to avoid solving the problem. Your health will deteriorate before you get an answer. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK. PC Richards sent a survey asking me about my recent experience. I responded and completed a review. I was just notified it "didn't meet their standards so was taken down". Now that's a shocker. They took it down because the experience I had was horrific. The review I posted was the following: "I have been a customer for 20 years but an associate (Dean) LIED to me on a recent order. Start-to-finish it was an unpleasant experience - he upsold me through two specific lies that I know of, told me he called to confirm inventory and assured a delivery date so that he could get my credit card and get the sale for a commission. He could have told the truth and I would have ordered another product and he still would have gotten a commission but instead he lied. When calling to confirm the delivery the associate who picked up the phone said "oh, I dont know why you were told Thursday this thing is on back order and we won't get it for months." Two hours later with a manager (who was quite gracious and helpful) the order was cancelled. Except......I still dont have the credit on my credit card. I was a loyal PC Richards customer for 20 years. I will never buy from them again. You can't LIE to customers. Dean should be FIRED read more

i have had 3 washing machines from pc richard fail on me in 8 weeks and have waited another month to be told the service appointment i was expecting tomorrrow is cancelled. for a month i've been going to the laundromat. after getting a text message 3 weeks ago that the parts they needed have arrived, and wiating 3 weeks for an appointment. and now 3 weeks later, they have suddenly vanished? sound fun? shop at pc richard and you can do this too! do you like people outright lying to you, face to face? that is what the "repair" man did when he arrived a month ago to look at my 5 week old machine, which was dead as a doornail. that was my 3rd machine delivered in two weeks. dead after 5 weeks. when i asked when the parts would arrive, this young man, who does this every day, and i cannot believe it is only the parts to my machine that are delayed, since he told me "this happens all the time", looked me right in the eye and said "2 days". a month ago. if you like being treated this way, pc richard can't wait to have you as a customer. pc rchard: i still have the text on my phone that telling me that you have the parts you need to repair my machine. i am keeping every message you send me, and i' am sending them to my lawyer. i honestly don't care how much a lawyer costs at this point. i am sick of being insulted, lied to and sick of having a machine i paid in full for that is useless in my basement, while spending more money at the laundromat. i have never ever had such insulting treatment from any commercial enterprise in my life. read more

I have shopped at this PC Richards location for years and have bought for 4 different houses but will never buy from there again. The in store staff and managers have been great and very helpful but the outside delivery people they use have been terrible. When buying from them you can't ensure that PC staff delivers so it's a crapshoot at best. Damages to products and homes are a regular occurrence with their outside freelance deliveries and PC management does little to help after the fact. Shop elsewhere if you have to get something delivered. read more

Very pleased with PC Richards In Southampton. We've purchased all of our items there for the past few years. Everything from Apple TV to appliances and our mattress. This isn't like a big box store, if you ever have a problem you can be helped with anything. Manager Rich Valletta was extremely helpful with our coffee maker and dehumidifier.
