We came here on a Saturday afternoon. They seemed to be a bit understaffed. The ambience was pretty good for a large chain but out table was wobbly which was a bit irritating. This was our first time eating PF Chang's and will be our last. The crab rangoons were burned and had none of the flavor one expects from a crab rangoon. It was bland and tasted nothing of cream cheese, scallions, or crab. The shrimp with lobster sauce tasted absolutely nothing like it should, not to mention it tasted slightly burned and greasy. The spring rolls were overdone and greasy and the spicy chicken was bone dry. The meals were edible, but that was about it. We had high hopes but were very disappointed. Went here for the first time for my 21st Birthday, and they didn't disappoint. Their Dynamite Shrimp was easily a 10/10. Their Orange & Sweet and Sour Chicken were so full of flavor and delicious. Table was wobbly, bathrooms were dirty (soap didn't work), my meal came out 10 mins before my husbands - mine was delicious only redeeming thing about the experience ...his finally came out and was absolutely disgusting. I have no problem paying $40 a plate but it needs to be good food and brought out reasonably close together. Shift manager did apologize and took off our appetizer. PF Changs is probably the one new place in Butler Plaza that we dont already have 10 versions of (Grub = Burger Fi, anyone?) I really dig the atmosphere, the food, the staff. We've been twice now and our servers have been great both times. The sweet and sour chicken is delicious and I love the sesame chicken. Most Asian restaurant chains don't seem to work for me, but P.F. Chang's is the exception! I was thoroughly impressed with everything this restaurant had to offer. The first thing I noticed when I sat down was how simple the menu is. Despite the menu being simple, they made every option sound delicious. I ordered the fried potstickers as an appetizer and they were honestly some of the best I'd ever had. I then ordered the Chang's spicy chicken with fried rice (pictured). The food was absolutely delicious. What I appreciated the most about this restaurant was the service. My waiter did an excellent job checking in on us. He gave me time estimates on how long my appetizer and main course would take and it just so happens that he was spot on. So, if you're looking for good quality food with great service, P.F. Overall, my experience at P.F. Chang's is what you would typically expect at a chain restaurant. Serving staff is wonderful and the food is slightly above average at best. We ordered dynamite shrimp and crab wontons for appetizers. The dynamite shrimp and was pleasantly spicy, but took a long time to come out so the staff graciously offered a free egg drop soup, which was delicious. The wontons were okay; better than take out but not as good as other places in Gainesville. For the entree, I ordered the special for the night - Pad thai. Taste wise it was great though I was very disappointed in the portion. As you can see from the picture, a big portion of the plate was veggies that (in my opinion) just took up space. Ambience and energy is great! I would definitely recommend the Asian pear mojito, but heavily consider an appetizer to make up for the entree portion (of the pad thai at least). Every day has a different special with a reduced price, so I would return to try those. read more

Hoo Boy. So we've been coming to this location since they opened a few years ago. We used to love the staff & the food was consistent & good. We noticed over the past year that there has been a turnover of staff & the food quality has gone downhill. We decided to give it a try tonight & let's just say we won't be back. Our server was very pleasant & that's the only positive thing we can say. They are short staffed but that's not the underlying issue. Our entrees took forever to come out & when they did they tasted awful. Pretty sure half the Chang's spicy chicken was just fried batter & the Honey Shrimp was so over cooked it was not edible. Our appetizer of steamed shrimp dumplings were cold. Our cocktails were ok but lacked alcohol. Either get it together or just close because what's the point. Very disappointed. read more

Anyone who knows me knows that I am an absolute SNOB when it comes to Asian food. I came here for my friend's birthday only because the wait for Cheesecake Factory was 3 hours. I walked in expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised. Every week they have different specials, and on Tuesdays the special was $5 Mai Thais and $10 Pad Thai. The Mai Thai was actually really well made and pretty strong! I ordered the orange peel chicken for my entree, which was also decent. It has a little bit of a kick to it so if you can't handle spicy I would not recommend it. My only complaint is that the serving size is a bit small for "family style." Overall though, it's a decent place to go with friends especially for their specials. I'll probably come back on Thursday's for their $5 mojito. read more

I typically can rely on of changs for consistent meal and while the food was fine tonight about halfway through my meal I found a shrimp in my king pao chicken dish.. I have an allergy.. so I brought it up to the server. Her only response was "oh sorry" and here is the check... luckily I had Benadryl in the car and I didn't actually eat the shrimp as that would have required the epi pen.. Second time at this PF Chang's here in Gainesville FL, and will never return. First, the prices are over the top even after Covid. Restaurant was not full, drinks, appetizers were a long delay, and longer for the food. The food amount was very-very small for the price and not good quality cooking. Beef was extremely over cooked making it very tough to eat. When we lived in Chicago this was our favorite go-to at least once a month. I want to start this review by saying we got take out and did not dine in so my rating isn't as much about customer service or ambiance as it is about the food. And that's what's important right, if I want a good conversation I'll call my friend and if I want ambiance I'll dim the lights at the dining room table. I went there because it's supposed to be great food, spoiler alert it's not. We all three payed an additional 5 dollars to get fried rice and I'm not just being rude for no reason but it was the worst I've ever had. It had a burnt taste, not sesame oil flavor but more like old burnt food off the griddle. The Sesame, Honey and sweet and sour chicken were all decent and the crab wontons were alright but $14 for 6? They weren't that good. So $92 later we had some slightly lower than mediocre food. Won't be back again. read more

I've been going to P.F. Chang's for years only because it's my husbands favorite. This last visit at the Gainesville location was my best experience! I actually found food that I enjoyed! Spicy like I like it! I started with a mimosa but soon I got a jai alai! Yes my favorite beer in draft! Hubby got his favorite organic margaritas! Our service was BOMB! The layout inside is better then others I have been to so I think it cuts down on the wait time Food/Drink 5/5 I had the Mongolian beef and brown rice. The potstickers were very tasty. I honestly find it hard to review chains. I mean, what's the point? There's a P.F.Chang's in every major city, and then some. They're a dime a dozen. But, in case you're an individual (like me) that normally wouldn't go to a chain restaurant but your hands are tied behind your back and someone has a gun pointed to your head telling you to eat P.F. Chang's, then you eat P.F. Chang's. Interior is dimly lit (low light is supposed to be high class and romantic, I heard.) , with beautiful rich colored wood mixed in with modern design. The boyfriend and I went on a thursday night, but it was still relatively busy. We were seated quickly at the bar, however, which worked for us because it was definitely a last minute decision (aforementioned gun to head. jk.) The bartender was kind, attentive, and boy did she make drinks quickly. I ordered the mongolian beef, and my boyfriend got the curry. As you would expect, the food was better than average, but it was not spectacular. I will say that my mongolian beef had a fantastic flavor, but I wasn't blown out of the water impressed. Maybe it's because I was at a P.F.Chang's and am therefore less inclined to be impressed by their food. And it was a little pricey. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back again because I like scouting out tiny restaurants owned by people who care about making interesting food, but...if my hands were tied behind my back and someone had a gun pointed to my head..... Terrible! Food quality went down the drain for a while now. We've tried several times and the last three times the food was just bland. The service was ok, can't really complain but at the end they hand you a receipt you have to scan with your phone and pay electronically. I apologize that I didn't get any pictures - I was hangry after watching "Bad Times at the El Royale," at the Regal Butler Town Center 14, which I HIGHLY recommend. P.F. Chang's was the perfect place to get an after movie bite because of its proximity, ambience and flavor. We (party of 2) arrived at 10 p.m. and were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't too packed. The inside is so beautiful! The artwork is gorgeous and the layout is modern and sleek. Our server, Kurt, had us rolling in our booth. He was charismatic, helpful and prompt. Even late at night, he was just as hospitable and gracious as if it was opening hour. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and brown rice. Kurt recommended extra sweet and sour sauce and I generously poured it on my rice. The food arrived quickly and was quickly devoured. The sauce was a perfect blend for the promised sweet and sour. The onions, peppers and pineapple were fresh and snappy even though they were blanketed in that velvety sauce. The dish had the perfect amount of chicken and a normal human being could probably get two meals out of it - like I said, I was hangry! The price was also fair for the whole meal. I did like the vegetables with it as they were not over cooked. However, the fried rice was incredibly bland. I have been to several PF changs before, so I was excited that one was coming to Gainesville! The first time I went the waitress was terrible. Luckily the food was still good, but we were brought the wrong wine and drinks, she never came back to check on us so we just drank them. Plus we never had our water refilled. Then towards the end of our meal we ended up having a different waitress. Not sure what happened there. In the times we have been back since we have had much better service, and the food has been consistently great! My only annoyance is that if you sit in the bar as the sun is going down most of the seats have a terrible reflection into your eyes and my husband had to wear sunglasses twice. Something else I appreciate is that you could make online reservations even if you're on your way to the restaurant! Not a lot of places in Gainesville what do you call a heads or reservations, especially big and popular places like this! read more

Upon arrival we were seated 15 mins after our reservation time in probably the worst table in the restaurant (by the bathrooms). When we asked to move to one of the vacant booths we were then told it would be a 45 mintier wait. Unacceptable. Ordered 2 cocktails which took over 20 minutes to arrive, neither of which were made according to the description in the menu. I sent mine back as I found it ludicrous that I was offered a discount on a poorly made drink. Ordered 2 appetizers which arrived 15 minutes apart and one of them was cold upon arrival. Entrees...the Peking duck is absolutely not Peking duck. It was ok but clearly not what it was supposed to be. The pancakes that come with it were super greasy. Buddhas feast was under seasoned and the lo mein side arrived 10 minutes after the entree with the excuse that they wanted to get the entree out while it was hot. Sweet and sour chicken was a mountain of chicken with exactly 4 small pieces of bell pepper. Disappointing meal especially for the prices they charge. Server was very nice and friendly and you could definitely tell she was embarrassed at the performance of the restaurant. Will not return if this is the standard there. read more
