Chicken lettuce wraps, salt and pepper calamari, steamed dumplings, AND crispy green beans...what a great dinner G and I had. My hubby had the Dali Chicken...which is the hotttest dish on the menu. They make sure you know that. Still not hot enough for him, he uses the special sauce they mix up as a little extra. He was glad they had brought that dish back though. It wasn't on the menu the last time I was there. The also have a drink called a PF-X, which I love. Also, not on the menu but they will make it for you. It has a mango rum or something in it, other stuff, and a splash of Sprite. :) That's always how I explain it and don't forget the splash of sprite. Nice summer drink, but be careful, it creeps up on you because it's tasty, the alcohol hits quickly. One with dinner is good for me. Have always had good food here. I definately recommend you call ahead for seating. We called at 6p and the first available they had was 7:45. When we walked in at 10 minutes before our time the wait for walk-ins was 2 hours. Unless you are going at 11am or 4pm...use the phone and call! It will save you many headaches and frustration. You may want to bring a light sweater or something as it usually seems a little chilly inside. For group dinners, most, if not all, of your party needs to be there before you will be seated. Well, I gave it another shot. I ordered their Lobster fried rice to go (~$17). 45 minutes later the meal was ready. Inside I found a moderate portion of fried rich with about 10 popcorn sized pieces of lobster and the incredibly disgusting lobster's empty exoskeleton buried under the rice. Chinese food made by people who aren't chinese is easy to spot if you're a fan of Asian cuisine. P.F. Changs is strangely expensive for a place whose basic dishes like soup and fried rice lack any small resemblance to the strong flavors of authentic chinese restaraunts. The egg drop soup does not have the thick consistency common with average egg drop soup, as it is very watered down with 3 floating strings of carrots...carrots in egg drop soup?! Moral of the story is, if you're in the mood for chinese food, do not go here; spend far less money for the actual real thing at any number of Chinese restaraunts in the Richmond area. If you're hungry for any other type of food, then by all means go here. read more

We opted to do the four course meal for $40. Which, is a pretty good deal when you're getting soup, appetizer, two entrees, and dessert (although the desserts are tiny, but you DO have the option of upgrading to a regular dessert for a couple bucks). Started with hot and sour soup which was decent. It had a lot of ingredients in it, but not the ones I expected. If I recall correctly, I didn't taste any bamboo shoots, which I look forward to in my hot and sour soup usually. It was definitely missing the spice and sour that I'm used to. But then again, this isn't super authentic Chinese. Followed up with the steamed shrimp dumplings, which were fine. I do have to say their sauce demonstration doesn't do it for me. The flavor that comes out when they make it for you is just not good. Possibly awful if you had a heavy handed waiter. I fixed the sauce by the end of the dumplings by adding a few things to it. We also had Chang's spicy chicken and crispy honey shrimp. Both were tasty, but again, this isn't authentic Chinese, so know that going in. A note: I do like the option to have brown rice with your meal. We finished off the meal with banana spring rolls, which was bananas wrapped in spring roll wrappers and then fried. It came with coconut pineapple, drizzled with caramel and some berries. That was probably one of the best parts of the meal. Service was good, though some might have found our experience to be undesirable. We engaged our waiter in conversation and he told us about his band and such. He also went into what some might consider long winded descriptions of items. We probably spent an extra 5-10 minutes listening to him over the course of dinner. Which, to be honest, made us late for our movie, but he was enthusiastic and considerate, so it is what it is. I definitely agree with everyone else, though... We came in the middle of summer and it was COLD. Luckily we knew this ahead of time and both wore long sleeves. PF Chang's, for the type of food it is, is tasty (and no mystery meat or language barriers). The food is consistent and the service was good. If no stars were available, I would click it. PF Changs ruined a beautiful thing called Chinese Food, to cater to all the upper class people who refuse to walk into a place called Hongs BBQ House. The fried rice is so bland, the spring rolls (UGH)!!!! I get better food and service @ a chinese buffet, aside from buffet fried rice which I don't like. I went here 2 weeks ago with my kids, while the hostesses looked at us like we were lost. We were dressed fine, just not blinged out wearing Juicy Couture, Chanel etc. I don't need to dress in thousands of dollars to enjoy good food. After the TSA hostesses passed us through the checkpoint, one seated us. I was ready to leave after this, but the hostesses aren't the servers. Talk about passing an interview, how did our server pass his? He doesn't talk, no smile. From what little came from his mouth was.... Here's my sauce (as he mixed his creation) I like mine spicy, what can I get you? I felt like my family and I were commiting a crime by breathing the same air as other customers. Food was horrible, we ordered Chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and 2 kids meals of breaded chicken. We will not being going back needless to say. For some reason, PF Changs convinced the upper class this is what REAL Chinese food is about. I'd say, go out and explore other restaraunts before you make a decision. I've been three times now with groups with this expectation that it's terrific. But I always leave disappointed. The food tastes premade and hardly unique. You may as well just buy their frozen food. Nothing tastes fresh. Granted, it's not as greasy as some Chinese takeout places (the reason for 2 stars versus 1), but there's nothing about P.F. Chang's that makes me want to spend money (and time--always a long wait!) on their underwhelming drab food versus other local Chinese and Asian restaurants (Full Kee, Mama Wok, Da Lat) that are full of flavor, character and better value. This is the friendliest PF Changs I have been to! Me and my husband ordered online for takeout, love the convenience! They had an extra order of dynamite shrimp and decided to give it to us. That made my night and that's also one of my favorite appetizers! The sichuan shrimp and the dan dan noodles are the dishes that never fail me. We have been to this restaurant on the weekend which may not be a nice experience because the wait is usually an hour or more... probably due to this being the only one in Richmond... correct me if I am wrong! So don't go expecting to eat right away! The good thing is the location... you can do some shopping while you wait! Had my first PF Chang experience last night with a group of 14 ppl from work. I loved the look of it from the outside with all the statues... And the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They treated us well and we never once had to ask for anything or wait very long to get it. The food was delicious .. We had a variety of things... Spicy chicken, mongolian beef, wonton, lamb, Chicken lettuce wrap sesame chicken, moo goo gai pan, , And many more.. I can't even remember all the meals. They were all good...the best thing on the table as far as taste was the salt & pepper shrimp... The only complaint I have was my martini.. I asked for any kind of berry one and they made me a rasberry one.. I think because it wasn't on the menu they didn't know how to make it.. It didn't taste like rasberry at all.. It was nasty... And before I could ask her she came and asked me if I liked it and since she asked I told her the truth. I didn't like it so she took it back and made me a new one that was much better.. We loved this place and had been going for years. However I think things went down hill. The honey shrimp were overly sweet. The lettuce wraps are still good. Got a discount for eating outside. They did not mix the sauces on our table like they did before. I got the sesame chicken. Not good. Rubbery and seemed like left over from the day before. Quite chewy. I hate rubber chicken. What happened to this place? I've been coming to this location since they opened. Tonight was a clear disappointment. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the atmosphere created by the staff used to match the decor. Servers, bartenders and wait staff are wearing jeans and t-shirts. Some look like they have just rolled out of bed. When we were seated it took our server almost 10 minutes to greet us. The service was pleasant but on the slow side. The food quality was surprising as well. The edamame appetizer was over cooked and the lettuce on the plate of chicken lettuce wraps was inedible. The problem was corrected without issue however visually obvious flaws on a plate shouldn't even leave the kitchen. As we were leaving there was server sitting on the bench by the host stand. First let me say the service was pretty good and the atmosphere was very nice. And the price is what I expect to pay for casual dining. I'm not very picky eater and I usually don't give bad reviews. Now with that being said the food left much to be desired. I found that the food was very salty and the egg rolls we order had a weird fatty meat inside. I'm sure plenty of people love the food but it just isn't for me. I would have enjoyed Chens or little Szechuan much more. Nothing against the actual people at the restaurant. I ordered some appetizers to go of crab wontons and the new Mongolian potstickers. Wontons had very little taste. Seriously can get better ones at the local Chinese restaurant down the street. The Mongolian potstickers were disgusting. I was expecting big chunks of the beef and it was brown mush. I love the food here, i do not find it to be authentic but it is after all a chain resturant. I love the fact that it has a gluten free menu, with many choices. 5:45 reservations last night, dinner was served at 7:20ish. It took more than 10 minutes to even be greeted at the table and the she disappeared for 45 mins after we ordered obviously hiding from dealing with the issue. Clearly the kitchen was having some major issues but at least communicate and provide updates. The waitress told us managers were only coming to tables if the waitress asked them to?? Hot mess to say the least. And after all that, the food was mediocre if graded on a curve. No compensation for all of that, would definitely think twice before checking it out again. read more

Poor food quality and taste. Chicken was so heavy on batter with hardly any chicken. Taste was very bland for honey walnut chicken as well. Orange shrimp was not too bad. I would compare it to Panda Express. White rice was dry like it was left out for hours. Cheap Chinese food is way better. Cannot compare to any other Chinese restaurants in the richmond area. We were offered free dessert. Manager asked if we wanted another dish and we said no. The manager stated "personally he loved the food. And wanted us to be happy since we did not like what we had." The issue was that it wasn't our personal opinion it was just genuinely bad food. I have had pf changs frozen meals and it has been better. Very friendly staff and management but we will not be back. Bill was over $50 for very low quality Chinese food that is supposed to be more gourmet. What has happened to PF Chang's? They used to be so delicious. The last few times I've gone, I was not impressed. My husband and I decided to go at around 4:00 today, as we had a gift card to use. It's a good thing we didn't have to pay using much of our own money, because it was pretty terrible for the most part. Our server, Jessica, however, was delightful. She was very attentive and accommodating, prompt, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Also, the shrimp dumplings appetizer was delicious. I ordered the surf n turf for my dinner, as I saw "wild caught lobster" in the description. I was excited to have some lobster and steak. If only I had known the lobster was battered and fried, I would not have ordered it. The menu needs to specify that the lobster is battered and deep fried. I couldn't even taste the delicate lobster at all. I only tasted the tempura batter and oil. I was actually sad about it, because I was really excited for lobster. Just not lobster prepared like that. Also my steak was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and got medium well to well done. The steak and veggies still tasted pretty good though. But due to the lobster being ruined by being battered and deep fried, I had to send it back. I decided to just order the honey chicken, because I knew it would be good. I have had it many times from many different places, including PF Changs. Well, this time, it was terrible! My husband even agreed, and he's not nearly as picky as I am with food. It had a very vinegary, very tangy taste to it. It was kind of like sweet-and-sour chicken only more sour and more disgusting. I did not dare send that back too and look like a total jerk. So I left still hungry. My husband had the beef with broccoli, and it was very tasty. I should have gotten that myself. I've only been here twice but each time I visit the staff is very nice and helpful. This time I say at the bar and the waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu, which is always a plus. Makes my food choice super easy! Who doesn't like easy! The food was delicious as always and the strawberry lemonade (i love flavored lemonades) was "on point" not too sweet, but just right! I was expecting so much more eating here after all the hype but it is no better than your average Chinese Restaurant, just way more expensive! Our waiter was pretty knowledgable but our wait to be seated here was way too long! We kept asking lady at front desk how much longer and she kept saying 15 more minutes but we were staring at a few empty tables! They didn't have reserve signs on them or anything and we almost walked out. You would think we had this ultra long hour and a half wait on a Friday night because it is THAT good but it wasn't. There are few nationwide chains that I have never been to before. P.F. Chang's was one of those chains. For one reason or another, I had never graced P.F. Chang's with my presence. Luckily for P.F., that changed last night. When I walked into establishment, I began to admire the ambience. I like the way the place is decorated. I ordered the monoglian steak while my friend ordered the scallops. Both entrees were scrumptious. Before we left, one of the managers gave me a 10 dollar gift card since I was a first-timer. That was a really nice gesture. I plan on using that g.c. in the future. read more
