Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience I've ever had in DC, and maybe anywhere for that matter. When my party and I arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess; although the place was jumping she didn't seem phased. Our server Kandis started us off with fresh oysters, they feature their oyster of the day for $1 from 2:45-7 daily! They were delicious. I had the Cadillac burger, it was without a doubt the best burger I've ever had. One of my friends had the crab cakes and another tried the skirt steak, let's just say there was nothing left on any of our plates! They make their desserts in house too, the bread pudding was to die for. Kandis made us feel like guests of honor with her service, and the manager even checked up on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I dine out a lot and this is the first time I've felt compelled enough to write a review, PJ's by far met and exceeded all expectations! read more

Went with 3 cousins. We all ordered burgers and fries. My cousins ordered well done and I ordered my burger to be med. Rare. They give me a well done but forgot my cheese, onions, lettuce and tomato. Two of my cousins burgers were raw and they forgot their fries. They kept taking our food back to the kitchen because they gave us one thing but forgot something else and everytime they did we had to wait like 30 mins. The waitress gave us attitude, she literally told my cousin "what do you want me to do about it?" and when we spoke to a man in charge complaining about the service. He took out our burger, because it was bleeding raw. We waited another 40 minutes for our check. My eldest cousin walked up to her and asked for the bill. Went with a group of 7 last night. My husband, who doesn't like to pay much for food, didn't have anything bad to say, which is a miracle and a testament in and of itself. He had the oysters and said they were exactly like fresh oysters should be. Perfectly fresh and delicious. I got the three sliders and onion strings and loved it. Another person in our party got the lobster salad, three teen boys got burgers. Everyone loved what they got. For dessert, be shared a couple of cheesecakes and bread puddings. The cheesecakes were perfect. The bread pudding was not as good as New Orleans bread pudding, but those of us from California loved it. the waiter seemed to be new and that was the ONLY downside. Like Kara K., I also hate sitting so close to people. Restaurant layout is really important for me, and I don't want the people at the next table butting into my conversation uninvited. But they'll do it anyway if your table is right on top of theirs. That being said, this is a good place to come for lunches. I work nights at a bar, so lunch is typically my "big fancy meal" of the day. When I had an out-of-town guest last week, I took her here since we were both craving a big, fat, juicy burger. Yeah, there is an organic turkey burger on the menu, but come on. Sometimes you just need some fatty beef -- and we got it here. PJ's would have gotten 4 stars if we weren't so cramped. Pro: The service. I've been to PJ Clarke's several times for business lunches, and they really do have the service down. They are attentive, without being overbearing, and they manage to provide efficient service at lunch, without making it seem as though you are being rushed. Con: I realize that DC is an expensive town, and I really don't mind paying a fair amount for good food. Unfortunately, for the price, PJ Clarke's just isn't worth it. The food isn't bad, but it's nothing to write home about, yet they still charge premium prices. Given the great service, if they brought the food quality up a bit, I think this could be a really great place. read more

I order from postmates here all the time and never had a bad experience. I typically go for the Cadillac burger and its always great. You can tell its a higher quality than most places. Totally worth however much more you'd pay on average than your standard burger. Also the fries are always fantastic. One more thing, if you're getting it delivered via an app, they're always super reliable. I've sometimes run into problems with a lot of places on postmates, uber eats etc. where something logistically happens and it takes forever to get your food. Not so here, they're always super prompt, accurate, and reliable. read more

I couldn't even get a refill on my water and there is no place in the app to order a glass of water...so that's that. Unfortunately it was just an extremely bad experience for $40. I'll be looking for dinner somewhere else tomorrow night.

It came out pretty fast, which was good but I didn't enjoy the food as it reminded me something you would get at some older diners (lacking flavor, super basic presentation, etc.) Their breakfast and brunch looked much better... It explained why the place was empty on Friday night though.

We ordered: - Fried Whole Branzino - This comes with sauteed Japanese eggplant, basil, red pepper, sweet soy glaze, cilantro and lemon basmati rice. I was not a fan of the rice, but the branzino was perfectly cooked. - Chesapeake Style Crabcakes - This comes with your choice of a single or double broiled jumbo lump crab, haricot verts, french fries, coleslaw and remoulade. They do not skimp on the crab meat in the crabcake. I would definitely order this again! The staff were wonderful and accommodating with my younger son's dairy allergy. Again, it was busy... but our waiter was great with still finding time to check on us. The menu is pricey, but the views are great, the food is delicious and the staff are wonderful. I would definitely visit Tony & Joe's Seafood Place again if I am in the area :)

I would say not good, definitely overpriced. Also, we ordered our drinks and they came out quickly but they were watered down (wasn't a hot day either). We had 1 person in our party who had a dietary restriction. The server refused to see if it was possible to accommodate this restriction (requested a grilled cheese or bun) because "the kitchen would yell at him". I think it surprised everyone when he outright refused to see if any alteration was possible.

The "So Fresh & So Green" cocktail really lived up to its name - light, crisp, and refreshing. My friend ordered the Tranquilo and loved it (perfect if you're into mezcal). The indoor space was pretty packed for a Thursday afternoon, but the vibe was still great. They also have an enclosed outdoor seating area with a bar that looked really nice. On top of that, the staff were kind and attentive throughout. Overall, a solid happy hour spot I'd come back to.
