I just gotta say that my family absolutely loves P. Terry's. We are just starting to get some coming to Houston, but anytime we are in the Austin area, this is a must-visit. I know, I know... isn't it just fast food? Oh, it's so much more. I am in love with their entire menu, but if you're going try them out to see what all the hype is about, just start with the burger and fries and add a milk shake or any other dessert of your choice. Other than the spectacular food, the thing that makes them stand out is their price. Everything is so affordable! Pretty rare these days with inflation, shrinkflation, etc. We always have had positive experiences here, and for this particular location - the dining area is huge, service is great, and parking is ample. Overall ambiance is above average for a fast food joint. Note: there are some locations that have no dine in option. One time, we ordered P. Terry's to-go at a different location and sat next to the dumpster on the curb to enjoy our meal. And it was still delicious! So, if you're looking for a dine in option, look at some of the photos on Yelp and you'll quickly find which ones are to-go only. Ok that's enough ranting about how good this place is. Check it out! Regional burger chain. I was a little disappointed in this experience. The staff didn't give me my cookie and it was the only time I was able to stop by. The burger was alright 4/5. Solid, but a little flat. I would get it plain without the lettuce or tomato, as the heat made them wilt. P. Terry's is always a great place to visit whenever you're in Austin. Whether it's your first time or your 20th time, P. Terry's serves up the best of the best and (in my opinion) may knock out In-n-Out on my top hamburger list! This is probably one of the biggest locations in terms of dine-in space in the Austin area. I remember coming here quite often with my college ministry, and we would bring over 150 students to enjoy a free meal as a Freshman outreach. You can't go wrong with the classic Hamburger or Cheeseburger, and when you have a hankering, go for the Double Cheeseburger, you won't regret it! The fries are cut fresh and are so delicious! Ask them however you want like "well done" or "no salt", they take care of those options as well! Drink-wise they have your standard soda products, but don't sleep on their milkshakes and shakes of the month, they are quite the star of the meal whenever you come by. In full transparency, I am generally not a fast-food girl. However, P Terry's, is generally touted as an Austin favorite, hyped as having an "all-natural menu", "fresh buns with no high fructose corn syrup" and "100% angus beef hormones and antibiotic free"- what does this even mean? Does natural branding make burgers or sandwiches taste better or does it mean they are average tasting but are good for you? Based on my consumption of a burger, fries and cookie, I believe it's the latter. The cheeseburger was not worthy of getting on a megaphone and yelling to the world this burger is great. Conversely, it was not terrible either. I love waffle fries, so I was not overjoyed by the tiny cut fries. While the fries were small, they did not feel greasy and were quite tasty...probably those amazing natural ingredients. P Terry's has a pretty quick drive through without long wait times. I have not been inside one of P Terry's location so cannot attest to its ambiance. The P Terry's staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating especially on an extremely cold day. I am on the fence regarding P Terry's. I will likely give it another try sometime in the future. read more

One of my favorite fast-casual burger places in the greater Austin area! I like how there are various ways to customize your burger. I usually get the spicy crispy Chicken Burger with cheese. You can choose between original or spicy, grilled or crispy, with or without cheese. The chicken is always crispy and juicy. It also has lettuce, tomato, and pickles, which adds some freshness. The spicy version has jalapeno mayo and pepper jack cheese for some nice kick. P.S - it doesn't cost extra to add cheese on it :) Their fries are amazing as well with big portions. They are thin with the potato skins still on them, giving nice texture, flavor, and crisp. Their service is very quick, easy to place and pickup your order at the counter. So going to the drive-through and ordering two orders of french fries and no salt place the order and moving forward to the line. Come to the window in the car and they are two black man standing there looking and not saying a word and I'm waiting and so they said I don't have your order. P. Terry's is very consistent, which I like. You know what you're going to get regardless of the location you go to. I'm partial to this location since it's near my house and often I'll swing by here to grab something for dinner or to treat myself to a shake (pro tip: check to see what the shake of the month is as they often are an extra special version of their shakes). The drive through is easy and reasonably quick moving. I've been inside and it's a well-kept and very clean fast food spot. The staff are friendly - you can tell they enjoy working there. Every time I've walked in and ordered food, I've always walked away very happy. The place has a wonderful charm to it, from the retro shapes, the delightful colors, the whimsical lighting, extremely large windows, and plenty of space to walk around and not feel crowded. The place is kept very clean, and always has plenty of supplies (straws, napkins, etc.). The people are very friendly, even when it's really busy, and my order is always accurate. Best of all, the food is totally delicious, and always at a reasonable price. Having the hamburger patties made of angus goes a long way, and being able to order a root beer shake is really swell. Enough business trips to Austin finally lead to me to being curious enough to try this place. I chose to try both the chicken and burger due to why not. The cheeseburger alone wouldn't be enough. I'd have rather the double if I go again. The chicken burger wasn't bad but a lot going on with the cheese lettuce pickles and sauce. I would recommend skipping the lettuce for sure. It was so wilted from the heat that it was gross. The French fries are one of my favorite cuts. However I'd ask if they could make them extra crispy if possible. And dear Lawd let me advise you to get the fresh squeezed lemonade if you get a chance and don't want a malt. It's like driving down the driveway in your car in the movie Bridesmaids fresh. If you know you know.."That's fresh" Perfectly salted fries with a perfect ratio of limp soggy to crispies on the bottom. The fries are awesome but the burgers just are not good... taste like they have been cooked on a grill that hasn't been cleaned in a long while... then we looked at the grill... yep! That is what it was... just nasty! I don't care how fresh your ingredients are if you cook them on a dirty grill they are going to taste like dirt... duh!! So I'm going to get straight to the issue. I really enjoy PTerry Burgers however, I will not go to this location ever again. The rude cashier cut me off while placing my order at the monitor! I not sure why he thought was ok. When I got the window to pay, I then attempted to share my experience and the manager Fernando allowed the employee to then come to the window and argue with me! He wanted his voice to be heard. The issue is I was still speaking with the manager! He took his mask and to say more and then the manager Fernando says- " just say sorry". WOW So the manager is giving instructions of when to apologize to a customer, because his staff feel empowered to speak to people anyway he likes and thinks cause it's face food no one will care!! I pull up to the window to pick up my food and the worker says hello then reaches for my card. I was expecting her to confirm my order which she never did. After a painfully long silence, she hands me my food and I drive off. I take a few bites of my burger at home waiting to taste the bacon. I have been to several P. Terry's and find, as usual, that each is different in its own little way. That is why I do not compare one location to another. We arrived in the area at the peak of the lunch hour to kill some time before an appointment. I had the double cheese burger with lettuce, tomato and jalapeno. The Lady had the single without cheese, fries and a tea. I stole some of her fries, of course. The place was busy with hoards of rug rats and young people from the surrounding businesses. Most had ordered online. I do not do that at eateries that I have not checked out first. However, there was a very friendly, courteous young man at the register and we walked though the order. I was a bit surprised that it came out faster than other P. Terry's I had dined, but no real worries except that I was thinking the patties may had been cooked ahead. Upon eating, all seemed OK. The problem we had was a number of flies in the dinning area, which normally I could care less about, but I had the Lady with me, so it made an impact. The other was that the table was very wet and we had to clean it ourselves. This location serves the customer base in its area. This was obvious. This may have just been an off day or due to crazy rainstorms. Whatever, it could easily be a 4 star place but we just had some problems, not with the food, but the dining experience. A great burger. This location closes at 11. After a long day of travel, we arrived here at 10:52 and they were still open and we ordered our burgers. They are juicy burgers. I ordered a double and I should have stuck with single because it was huge! I got the works with jalapeños. I love how they chop the jalapeño and you get just a little bit with each bite. Lettuce crisp and tomato fresh. Just a beautiful burger, this is my location after future airport runs. Staff: young men working all super polite, friendly, and fast!
