My friend and I arrived at AMC Tech Ridge for a screening quite early, so we decided to walk to P. Terry's for a quick dinner before the movie. Because we were on foot and not in a car, we simply walked up to the counter and ordered from the friendly server. P. Terry's is not fancy but is just what one would want in a burger stand. I ordered a basic hamburger, which happens to be high-quality Black Angus. I requested no bun, and they offered to wrap the burger in lettuce. That was a nice touch. It was a huge leaf, perfect for wrapping around the burger. The tomato slices, pickles and onions were the perfect accompaniment....and at $3.10, it's quite a deal! New location that just opened up. It's a drive-thru only establishment, so don't expect to be able to dine-in. It's located near a Chick-fil-A so I assume there will be some competition and increase in car traffic. I'm just glad they finally opened one at Tech Ridge to serve it's fans along I35 in NE Austin. The food quality here is excellent and the workers are courteous. Because it is so new though, the workers I briefly interacted with didn't seem to know some of the inner processes that is noticeably much more refined at other P. Terry's stands. But I have no doubt they will improve as they become more established in the coming months. For those of you who aren't familiar with P. Terry's, they're like Austin's version of In-N-Out. I think the overall quality and value surpasses that of In-N-Out. I opted for 2 cheeseburgers and a side of fries, which easily fills me up, and paid $8.23. Check this place out, and leave happy. Soooo dropping my pets off at Banfield, my daughter pointed out that we haven't had P.Terrys in a long time (especially since the zombie apocalypse aka Covid Lockdown) the line was super long; but super FAST! The lady that took our order (Dametrus) was SUPER NICE!! I was like "Damn she was nice as hell to be working in this hot ass sun! Lol" and my 13 year old daughter was like "YASSSS! Her voice was just so pleasant and sweet!" Aside from having bomb ass food (minus them NOT adding my grilled onions and jalapeños, that I paid for) everything else was PERFECT. This locations drive through was exceptionally well ran. It was fast, the cashier was super nice. I seriously love P. Terry's. I recently moved to Texas and cannot get enough of this place, I probably get it once a week. I've been meaning to try this burger joint at this location for some time. The problem is there's usually about a dozen cars in a single lane and I don't feel like waiting for half an hour for fast food. So I took a chance after the lunch rush was over and still found myself eighth in line. As soon as I pulled behind the last car in line I took note of the time and was going to see exactly how long eight cars in front of me would take until I picked up my order. I pulled away from the window exactly 13 minutes from my arrival. So it appears you get in and out reasonably quick considering how many cars were in front. Now for the food itself. The one thing that surprised me about the menu was the one item that was conspicuously absent. This has got to be the only burger joint I've ever been to that did not offer onion rings. I had the double cheese combo with a chocolate shake and the wife had the number one combo which came out to about $16. The burgers were a decent size and they were quite tasty. The fries we're really great, cut in a homestyle skin on manner. The chocolate shake was also well worth the three bucks. I do like In-N-Out Burger but I think P Terry's has them beat on size and price. I also like their homestyle Fries better than In-N-Out Burger. Would not recommend. They had two lanes open but if you really wanted to move efficiently, you should be in the inner lane. I was in the outer lane and it was moving SO slow that the people who got there after me (in the inner lane) - at least 4 cars- were getting their food and leaving before I even got to get my order from the guy. They hand you this bin to put your card in that every single person touches, why not just take the gloves off and take my card from me and wash your hands more often? Been here maybe over a dozen times so far, I live right by it. Every single time it has been fresh, hot, and good. They always get my order right and the service is fantastic. Very friendly and fast. I'm surprised to see the other reviews that say the burgers have been dry or their orders have been wrong at this location. This particular location has yet to fail me, but years ago at another location I did get ice cold dry burgers before. Anyway, great job y'all. Always good and fast. I used to love P. Terry's. One opened up at IH35 between Howard and Parmer. So I was excited we had a new burger joint to eat at. Tonight due to family obligations dinner at home was not a possibility. So I suggested P. Terry's for dinner. What a huge mistake. The burger was tiny and tasted like it was cooked with fish oil. The grill chicken sandwich was un eatable. And the fried where cold and greasy. Save ypur money $15+ for 2 meals that were ineatable is too much money to spend. To P. terrys management. Don't onow what hapoened to your quality control, but thos location needs help. I cannot recommend this location to anyone. read more
