My daughter had another flat and I noticed she was on the little wheel. I took her car to Pac-Man tire to get her a used tire until she can afford new tires. The gentleman at the counter was welcoming and helped me right away. He said give me your keys I got you. I was worried because I don't speak Spanish and no problem they all speak English. I was there less than 20 minutes. Cost $50 out the door. I recommend this business especially for those who don't speak Spanish they will treat you fairly and are all very welcoming. Read the mixed reviews on this business and I must say, some of the things mentioned here seems downright horrible. From some stolen air filter to unfinished tire work. I can't discount other customers' experiences so I'm writing this one purely based on my own observation and experience. Every time I come here, the place is always buzzing with at least 3-5 customers in the lobby. Customers, 9 out of 10 times (always a male) either needs his old school lifted or some PM services done. So to me, that's an indication that this business is doing something right. Because you can find a whole row of other tire shops & mechanics within a 2 square mile radius of this place along District Blvd or White Lane. I bought all 4 new tires for my Jeep Cherokee and I cannot be more satisfied with their quick service and fair prices. My check engine light also came on on a separate occasion and the issue was I needed to replace my thermostat and the sensor. Jeep wanted to charge me $1,200 total (mind you parts were only going to cost about $200) but the rest was for labor. I came back to PacMan tires and they took care of the issue within a couple of hours for $250 and change. I also leave a bag of nice jumper cables and a car emergency kit in my trunk and have yet to experience any lost items. read more

I dropped my car off over a month ago. This upcoming Friday would have been a month and a week. I took it to them to see if it was my head gaskets and for them to fix it. After two weeks of not hearing anything back from them I called. They said "we will give you a call back TODAY" so I waited a few days because the call never came. It happened again to where they kept saying we will call you back. Eventually they told me it was something completely different.. but that they still needed to check it out. In the last week I called multiple times until I just got fed up of them not giving me straight answers. I went and picked up the car this morning from them and they finally decided to inform me that they were understaffed and had one mechanic this whole time. I definitely understand about being understaffed. If they would have came straight forward from the get go, I most definitely would have been more understanding. The last straw I had was yesterday when I made a call yesterday to ask again what was going on and the desk guy started giving me lip. So of course I got mad at the poor guy but he was rude and I reciprocated the energy back. They don't have integrity. They are obviously overwhelmed with the volume of work, and If they don't have the staff to then that means there's management problems as well. They could definitely do have handled this so much better but it is what it is. I got my car back and it probably is the best outcome out of it. read more

I would not recommend taking your vehicle here they give you an estimate on when your car will be ready then delay weeks or months after that you can call and ask about the vehicle and they'll give you a run around you can even go in person just to see they stashed your car in back to work on other cars. When I got my vehicle back they told me they fixed 5 things just to find out they charged me for 5 and only fixed one and even then they half assed it. They answer the phone just to put you on hold no words said and will leave you on hold sometimes for even 30 minutes then say they'll call you back and never do. Leaving this business one star because my fiancé took my car to them to fix some things and he paid them for their work. We live an hour away and I go to school in Bakersfield so we thought it would be best to stop at a place in Bakersfield. After we picked up my car and drove home we realized they had stolen my oil filter that my fiancé had purchased at auto zone and left in my car to change the oil later. Obviously, we know not leave valuables like money and such in your car because you can't really trust anyone, but an oil filter? Really? We thought they did good work on the car and we were pleased, but that doesn't even matter anymore after we learned that they had taken something from us. We definitely won't be going back. I had these guys fix the AC in my car and the thermostat because it was blowing hot air and when I left the shop the thermostat wasn't even working. From time to time it would work for about 5 minutes and that's it! The AC which I mentioned was blowing hot air was working great until yesterday! 2 weeks! 2 weeks and it stopped working.
