The one star is the for the niceness of the movers, specifically two of the three who were so helpful and very patient with helping us find the right place to put the big furniture. They really took care to get the big things up stairs which wasn't easy b/c of the low ceiling and the turn midways through. Now here is why there wasn't more stars. Like Paul's review, we got one price which seemed so competitive. The owner came out did a quote and all was good to go. Said he could get the job down with one truck and three guys. The crew arrived on time as promised (*a big plus compared to the other company I had used 4 years before). The got busy moving while my husband and I were furiously packing stuff away. For some reason I thought they would do this do but since I like to know where things are, I helped. Of course it was shocking with the movers said that they had filled the truck up (or were getting close to filling it up and asked what was essential to take, "THE BIG STUFF). I would have to say that the moving guys were trying to do their best we even bought the guys lunch and even gave them a tip. One of the movers was on his his cell phone ALOT with baby mama drama but (spoiler alert) after I had to rent a truck the next day to finish the job, I came to realize why he was on the truck as it takes one person to load the items into the back of the truck or to quickly unload. Yeah, we had to rent a UHAUL which isn't a freaken 29.95..more like 118 with mileage and all that. So now the price to move was no longer competitive at all, two more days of lost work and renting a uhaul. Arghh! Again the movers themselves were nice, helpful, and patient but the owner is a big bullshitter or an inexperienced mover who under quotes to get the bid but leaves you hanging. Not cool. Lastly I would say that you really have direct these movers as they did not take precautions with my front load washer. I came to learn later than certain washers with sensors have special bolts that have to be used while moving or else your machine will be ruined (I would imagine in like moving a scale of sorts, and electronic one that doesn't take well to being jiggled, bumped, tilted). Now to call Sears to have them come fix that major problem. PS: I would highly advise against using the company ALL MY SONS moving...similiar problems with a major credit cards fraud occurring shortly after giving them my credit card...just saying. read more

I used Pack N Box movers for a small apartment move within the same complex. I was impressed that even at the very last minute (night before the move), I was able to get the movers right away. The two movers were very pleasant, on time, efficient, and accommodating. What more can one really ask for? There is a two hour minimum charge and my small move came it right at 2 hours. This only due to my lack of preparation because I was still packing when they arrived. My suggestion to anyone is to be specific in your requests (I.e. wrapping furniture, mattresses, etc.) and monitor how they pack your belongings in the truck. They had absolutely no problem doing what I asked of them. They even handled my Ikea furniture as if it were expensive. I would use this company again. read more

Little Eric and Jerry did a great job helping us move from one city to another. It was a smooth transition. They were careful with our belongings, especially with our glass dining table. They were helpful and most of all they didn't break anything. However, unfortunately one thing got lost in the move. I didn't realized it until two weeks later. They spent the whole day moving our stuff and it totaled close to $850. I think it was worth it because we did not want to stress or damage our bodies trying to move all this stuff. 2nd time using this company. First time we had them move our stuff from one apt to another and were very happy with the move. This time we needed movers to only load the truck that we rented on our own. They were punctual, efficient, and quick. There was a 2 hr min with 30 min allotted for driving time at $90/hr for 2 guys and $30/furniture roll. They asked us for rope to secure the things in the truck, which we did not know we needed so had to run off to the store and buy some. Wish we we knew in advance so we could have had the rope ready and not make a last min run esp when we were trying to pack up the last bits and pieces. The only reason why I'm docking stars is that after unloading everything, we found two lamps were broken and another scratched up, and one bookcase backing was broken. But overall we were happy, there were no hidden fees and the move went smoothly. read more

Got me moved out of my one bedroom apartment in an hour got me moved back into my house in another hour! I hired PacNBox Movers of Sacramento to move into my new place. I hired them a few weeks out from my day of move and was a bit worried that come move time, I wouldn't have anyone show up to help. Not with this company in charge! Approximately 45 minutes before their expected arrival time, I received a phone call to confirm that I was ready for moving (completely packed) and that I expected them at 8 am. This simple confirmation phone call really soothed my fears. Billy and Lyle showed up on time and ready to work. There was no standing around making small talk, I filled out the paperwork and they began moving me. They took care with my items while moving fast and efficiently. They were professional and courteous. My 1000 square foot house was completely loaded and unloaded within their three hour minimum job time. I even asked them to put specific boxes in their respective rooms and some some stuff into the garage around back. I could not be more thankful for their great service. Had these guys help with an across town move. It was really easy to deal with them and everything was straight forward. They showed up, worked hard, didn't break anything and moved everything. Pricing was really good and fair. I liked the straight forward approach about billing what you got (a truck, a couple guys and billed by the hour). The only down side was that glass, pressed wood and something else I forget was not covered by their insurance. They didn't break anything but it seemed a little weak as far as insurance goes. These guys are great! They were prompt, professional, but friendly. I had to change the dates of my move a couple of times and the owner never griped or gave me any indication I was being a pain. I had a big house full of stuff to move and the movers were done in three hours. (And they didn't look like refugees from a chain gang for once.) Those guys never stopped-it was go, go, go for three full hours. The house I moved into was small with narrow doorways and the guys performed some kinda magic to get my big things through the doors to where they needed to be. They unloaded in 85 degree weather and still it was go, go, go. I've moved a few times in my life & these guys were the best! I was worried they weren't equipped to handle a move that wasn't local, but I should never have worried. I can't see ANYONE being disappointed with Pac N Box ever! read more

I called Pac n Box last minute and at first they were booked. These guys were awesome! Last minute and I mean within 2 hours of my calling these guys where there early and ready to move my stuff. My move was from a storage unit to an upstairs apartment. The apartment I moved into I had not actually seen yet I had just seen one like it. When getting to my apartment I realized the job at hand for these guys. My unit was on the back side of the building and in the middle....I felt so bad. There was no real easy way to get my stuff inside. These guys didn't complain they just moved the stuff. They were organized and quick about it. I have never used a moving company before but after my experience with them I am a customer of their's for life! This past weekend we moved into a new home. I set the appointment with Lou only 4 days before the move. Lou was very helpful and patient to answer all my questions. It was a relief to hear him response "yeah no problem we'll be there first thing in the morning on Saturday". 2 gentlemen showed up right on time and eager to start the move. They were very delicate with our belongings. They were sure to be careful not to ding any walls or doors in the old house and new. A week before the move date, we were supposed to meet at the new site for a look-through. He forgot about the meeting and didn't apologize when I called him.
