Everything here is great service, food & ambiance. Super affordable too! Will go there again and again.

Delicious sushi! After researching several sushi restaurants online, I decided to try PacRim. Located on East 49th street, it's very convenient to the United Nations and practically around the corner from Japan Society. Also, there's another Japanese restaurant located on the same block. Whereas the neighboring restaurants have large open windows with customers in full view of the street, PacRim has a recessed private intimate interior seating area. It also offers a 40$ lunch omakase (as of June 2023) as well as other smaller lunch specials (see photo). I expected high quality & small portions. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality and good portion size. The spicy Yellowtail handroll is one of the best I've had in NYC. The service was excellent too. The sushi nori wasn't super crispy but still delicious. Plan to return for more!

Husband found this place on Yelp since I've been hankering for sushi since I gave birth. Really did not disappoint and it's a super solid place - I ordered the lunch Omakase priced at $40. I did not regret - it was the right amount of food and great way to start eating sushi again. The roll wasn't too rich for me and I enjoyed the sashimi. Will definitely come back if I'm in the neighborhood. Service was good - got our order and food taken in a timely manner and it seems to have a steady flow of people since we dined here during lunch hour. Was able to talk to my husband if needed and mostly chill environment.

Sushi was high quality for the price ($26 for a sashimi platter). I was surprised the restaurant was pretty empty because it had a very nice ambience and good service. Ample space inside and can accommodate a large group.

Worst sushi I've tried in NYC by far. Fish tasted rotten and was grey in color and the miso barely tasted like anything, it tasted like hot water with a hint of chicken broth.

Pac Rim is our local sushi restaurant. The sushi is some of the best sushi we've had, compatible to Catch and Sugar Fish. The staff is wonderfully kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The drinks are good too (my favorite, the plum wine). The atmosphere is cozy, warm and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Food was very good and the staff was extremely friendly and attentative. A great new additiin to the neighborhood. Easily able to support a partt of 8 or 10 at long table. Interessting combo of deserts including a nice Halo Halo ice cream and fried banana.

Maggie is the best front end person ever! Friendly and efficient. The general Tao $8 takeout bowl is substantial and a great value!

Medium spice was not spicy at all for us. - Duck curry: a bit small on the portions but the curry is magical. Was scraping this plate clean. - Bo luc lac: star dish for sure. Beef melts on your tongue and the marinade is slightly sweet and smoky. - Summer rolls: small portions but the flavor is there. Super refreshing and special bc they pickle the vegetables inside. - Crispy pork belly: reminds me of the crispy pork I had in Vietnam. Really well done, pairs well with the lettuce and herbs. That green sauce is so addicting. - Papaya salad: super refreshing, nice fish sauce. - Crab fried rice: reminds me of the din tai fung fried rice bc of how clean the flavor is. Great dim ambiance for a date or dinner out. Definitely coming back soon.

The pad thai noodles are a big thinner than i've had before but that didn't bother me, it has such great flavor too. I recommend ordering it spicy, it's the perfect heat if you're looking for that kick but don't add it if you can't handle spice. The drunken noodles are not spicy in my opinion but i can handle a bit of heat. Loved the flavor and the noodles had the right texture, could've done without the huge chunks of tomato but great otherwise. The summer rolls were good, hard to mess those up. We also got a free mango salad with the order and that was so fresh and delicious. We just popped in for pick up but the hostess was really nice and attentive as soon as we walked in. It looked to be a nice casual spot, could be good for dinner with friends or date night.

Our drinks and desserts were equally outstanding. Most importantly, the management team and service staff provided us with impressive and exemplary hospitality and service. It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.
