Had a very nice meal at Crave sushi bar! The interior was very nicely decorated and our server was AMAZING. We went in with an open table reward and he was so accommodating with applying it to our meal (some places make you feel shameful when you have a gift card ). For the price, I don't know if I'd come back here. Everything was good but portions were just so small. The spicy tuna roll was nice but only came with 6 pieces and the broccoli rabe inside honestly through me off a little. The crispy rice had a perfect texture and the salmon was very fresh, however, it had a strong lemon taste that I wasn't expecting and didn't love. The wagyu burger were good, I would've loved some extra sauce on the side. For the hand rolls, the salmon one was AWESOME!! It had truffle ponzu which was subtle but added so much to the roll. I'd definitely order those again. the chocolate lava cake was warm and a moist chocolate cake but there was no lava inside which was disappointing. it was a nice meal but for the price, i don't think i'd rush back. still a great atmosphere and great service!!! read more

If sushi could model, Crave sushi would be the runway... There is a saying that good sushi doesn't need soy sauce because the chef already seasons it... now I understand!!!! Every piece of sushi is a work of art. The best kept secret is to sit at the sushi bar... you can thank me later. The chef's are incredible. The best special sushi is the Bluefin Tuna O-Toro. This roll reminds me of Heidi Klum in her prime... sexy and delicious. 10/10 If you are a fan of Salmon Roe, they do a nice spin on it with crème fraîche and white balsamic. Highly recommend. Crave Sushi is indeed a proper name for this place! The sushi is so flavorful and delectable, it is hard not to want more and the minute I got up, I can't wait to go back. Everything we ordered was a piece of art, delicious and beautifully plated. I was happy to see one of my favorite drinks on their happy hour - a twist on a Hugo Spritz, and was only $10 (although it was very light). We sat outside and it was so refreshing. Our waitress was also such a delight - positive and sweet, kept telling us not to rush and enjoy the moment, she came and checked on us often despite how crowded the restaurant was starting to get inside. - We had such a wonderful time. read more

Hip new place with modern interior in midtown east! My cousin and I got the chef's tasting and picked mostly sushi dishes. The fish was so fresh and the flavors were great. My friend and I visited Crave Sushi Bar to try their happy hour which lasts from 5 - 6:30PM. On the surface it seems like a decent deal, with hand rolls for $6 and sushi rolls for $8.50 but portions are (expectedly) small and hard to be filling. I tried most of their happy hour menu which contains around 3 hand roll options and 3 sushi maki options and felt that the spicy scallop hand roll was my favorite of the bunch. The food was delicious and high-quality, and they lean into their sustainability practices but for a 'happy hour' you're probably better off visiting somewhere like Nami Nori where you can get five handrolls for $32 which contain more food. Service and ambiance were nice, with classic Japanese-themed artwork lining the walls and a sleek, modern bar tying in the area. The restaurant was still busy for a Tuesday afternoon which I think is a testament to the quality of the food, despite the higher price. read more

She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to accommodate my mom, who has celiac. We came with my husband's family when they visited in July since my husband and I came once before earlier and enjoyed it. We thought it would be a nice fancier dinner with his parents. The service was good and the food tasted good, its very unique and we like that they use local fish. I also highly recommend the Maine eel roll, steelhead trout and shrimp and crab dumplings. Came here solo and was shocked at how this has such great reviews, mostly average food with high prices: - spicy edamame: weird, gooey chili sauce on edamame, would've preferred plain - salmon nigiri: nothing special - salmon nigiri with caviar: $20 extra to try caviar and felt like a waste - toro nigiri: delicious with buttery otoro I sat at the sushi bar and when I got my bill, they had added a 6 person, 20% service fee - they said my bill was connected to another table (?) Overall, would not recommend as it took almost 30m for my food to come out which was odd since half the sushi chefs weren't prepping food for a good bit of the time I was waiting. Just like their adjoined sister restaurant, Crave Fishbar, they only use top quality sustainable seafood making it a delicious and eco-conscious choice. Best decision we made was sitting at the bar where we witnessed the artistry that chef Todd Mitgang and his fellow sushi chefs are demonstrating.. plus, you might just get a special piece as a welcome to the counter. I've lived in NYC for 15+ years and can tell you this is my favorite sushi I've ever had. The menu is extensive, making it impossible to try everything in one sitting, but that's fine. After my first experience, I will happily return to continue eating my way through the menu. Every bite was amazing, but there are two things you canNOT skip: the brown butter local scallop and the Kampachi Sashimi in the yuzu Tom Yum broth. To compliment the food menu, there are an incredible number of sake and cocktail options. I've had some fancy sushi in my life, but I think this overall was the best sushi experience I've ever had. It's also wonderful that it is all sustainable. Standouts for me- from small bites the salmon crispy rice; from dressed nigiri the local scallop was luscious and buttery and the shiso pesto on the Kona kampachi added just the right touch. I will also admit I had risked having a bit more than my share of the large roll- spicy Maine lobster, and I was dining with my future in-laws! I couldn't resist. My drink of choice, the Kyoto breeze was refreshing and had these lovely little homemade boba on top that looked almost like salmon roe. We will be back! read more

We tried this UWS place as it was highly rated. Atmosphere and decor really pleasant but we felt the food was average and over priced. Oysters were tiny, not the most tasty. I had the oysters with crème fraîche and caviar which was not the best combination. The caviar and crème fraîche were on the oysters and would have been best kept separate. I also had the asparagus which were quite tasty but I counted 4 in the dish, i.e. $3 per asparagus! Then the bill came and the prices were hiked compared to the menu. Apparently they had changed their prices but not their menus.. The manager fixed our bill right away though. read more
