Pacheco smog lived up to its 5 star rating which was the reason I went there in the first place. The owner was friendly and inviting, making you feel like a valued customer should. I was out of there in 10 minutes and I had just dropped by without an appointment. My only complaint is at the State of California who is screwing us all. I have a diesel truck and up until a year or so ago diesels were not even required to get smog and I was advised that diesels rarely, if ever, fail the test. Just another way for this poorly governed, mismanaged disaster of a state to steal money from us. Anyway, rant aside, I highly recommend Pacheco Smog since we have no choice. What a positive experience! Hirmand was so friendly and the smog check process was quick and smooth. He has his prices also clearly listed on the wall with no strange or unexpected costs added in at the last minute (as I have experienced elsewhere). He was also very helpful, not only to me, but to two other people who were there while I was waiting who needed something other than a test-only smog station - he spent time listening to their needs and very courteously directed them to the right place. Was greeted in the parking lot by one of the guys on duty and he directed me for parking, invited me into the office, offered me coffee, got my paper work going, etc... If I could give ten stars I would!!! What a great honest owner! Friendly, courteous and helpful. My car is old and he knew it would not pass the smog test because the engine light was on. Did he go ahead and do the smog test? NO! I think other smog shops would have just to get their $. He even ran a test that others would have charged for but he didn't charge me a dime, and it showed what needed to be fixed. Because my car is very old and i dont have an extra dime, he wrote down the website in CA that offers help as well as a phone # to try. OUT OF THE PARK CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Unfortunately my car is from out of State, so the CA website advised their program was not for out of State vehicles. Worth the try though, you only pay $20 and they will help up to $500. My vehicle would have been much more to fix, and being old, I guess I'll sell it for parts...THANKS AGAIN for TERRIFIC SERVICE. I've recommended him and given his cards to those I shared my experience with. I'm going to put this on FB where all my friends in Contra Costa County and see it! Karen read more
