My family has been going to Pacific Breeze for the last 13 years. We are not Thai or Vietnamese, but we absolutely love their food. I always order their pho, and despite trying countless other restaurants for their versions of pho, I always return to Pacific Breeze. Normal this would be one of my favorites however not tonight! I haven't been in about 6 months,and the service has dropped as has the cleanliness! While the food was still good my friend and I both felt uncomfortable we practicality had to yell to get the servers to come into the dinning area, and looking up above our table we were grate with an extremely dirty intake vent so dusty we felt it might drop in our food. Because I love you, I'm going to let you in on a little secret...Pacific Breeze. But this is Portland, you say, we don't tan here. Boo for tanning. Yay for Thai food. $8 will get you soup and a plate of perfect Thai yumminess. The hot and sour soup leaves something to be desired (too much chicken flavor), but the coconut soup totally makes up for it. Plus, the fortune cookies have two fortunes instead of one, which means that you get to choose the fortune you like best. The only downside is that you won't be able to help ordering the same thing over and over again. Yes, the food really is that good. My coworkers and I go here for lunch every week and the waitstaff refer to us as #3, #4, #9, #13, and #17. Make sure to go before the lunch rush (11:30 works out well)...if you go after there's a high chance they'll be out of soup, and that would be sad. read more

On a whim decided to try this establishment since I was craving pho. I usually don't eat pho at restaurants since my mom's is my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet and it was soooooo good. The broth was seasoned perfectly with a lot of depth that I barely had to add anything to it. Just a little hoisen, lime and chili oil. I eat her about once a week, and am never disappointed. The ginger chicken is my favorite and they let me order it without cooking it in oil, which is awesome. My husband always gets the Pad Thai, which is too spicy for me, but great flavor. The green papaya salad is another go to for us, as well as the summer rolls. I have never eaten inside the restaurant, we always just pick it up to go, so I can't comment on that, but for pick up orders they're row try fast, usually 30 minutes or under. read more

I think this is my favorite local Thai place. We frequent here in the lunch hour because the prices are great and they have many things on the menu that I enjoy. The service is always prompt and they have a very laid back atmosphere. I especially enjoy the mini-tables that allow you to sit cross legged while you dine. They have your typical Thai fare like Thai iced tea and Pad Thai, and they do it well. If your stopping in for a meal though I have to encourage you to try the lemongrass chicken platter which is killer, or the basil and beef fried rice! I had been incredibly excited all day after getting a recommendation for this place, and finally when the time comes for me to enjoy a good meal (like all the reviews say) i walk in and they tell me its closed! they say its closed sorry and make me leave. Staff was friendly but service was slow & absent. This is with only 2 tables (ours being one). My husband ordered the yellow chicken curry and was not asked 'how hot' (he would have liked it hotter then the way it came out. My daughter liked the bubble Thai tea. And for me, I'm Vietnamese and the Pho was just ok on the bland side before adding the hot sauce. The part I really had a problem with is the bill was dropped without asking if we wanted anything else. I wanted the coconut ice cream! I have eaten at Pacific Breeze for years, this restaurant has been a mainstay in Tigard for a while. Pacific Breeze has so many delightful dishes. I highly recommend their stir fry and Pineapple friend rice. When this restaurant is on, it is hands down the best Thai restaurant on the west side because of its taste and price. But, in recent years, the quality has been inconsistent. It really depends on who is cooking that day, to be honest. Their Red Curry is to die for when it is cooked right, as is their Pad Thai. Other days, the Red Curry and Pad Thai tastes like melted plastic. I love this place, and I hope the owners read this and make the necessary adjustments in the kitchen to get a consistent taste for their customers. The customer service is impeccable, their take out is always on time and accurate, and to reiterate very fairly priced. Having been to Pacific Breeze on 3 separate occasions, I can now say their food is exceptional but their service is not. The menu is a bit difficult to go trough as there are both Thai and Vietnamese cuisines to choose from. I've ordered the panang curry, masuman curry, and beef pho on my different visits. The flavors are spot on with rich sauces and perfectly cooked meats. Unfortunately their service is slow, unorganized, and less than welcoming. On our last visit the dining room was full and their was only one person who was moving extremely slowly. It took 2 hours from when we walked in until when we could pay and much of this time was waiting for food, drinks, our check and to go boxes. read more

Im from San Francisco and just moved to Oregon a month ago and have yet to find edible asain cuisine. My roomate yelped a couple places tonight and we decided to try Pacific Breeze out. When we walked in there werent many people inside but we were treated like royalty. Picked our own table, glasses always filled with water, always checking up on us, the wait on food was perfect came right after we finished appetizers! and not to mention absolutelyyyy DELICIOUS! the best in oregon ive tried. we had the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce which we licked with our fingers and pad thai and curry, we were so stuffed we took to boxes home with us! Good stuff! Had Pho Chin which was lean beef and it was terrific. I like it spicy so added the peppers and hot sauce and it was on fire. I am giving Pacific Breeze a two at this time based on past experience. We have gone here often and are usually really happy with what we have received. Not so this last Friday. I ordered two of our regular favorites, pad thai with shrimp and pla duk pad phet - catfish with eggplant, and tried the beef spareribs as something new we had not ordered there before. First off, we order the catfish dish specifically because it has the eggplant which we really like. When I got home with the food there was absolutely no eggplant in the dish whatsever. I mean zero!! And both of these dishes are listed as spicy, which we expect from Thai food and one of the reasons why we go to Thai restaurants. Both dishes were extremely bland and had no bite at all. Where's the consistency? We've ordered many dishes from Pacific Breeze and have never been as disappointed as we were with this visit. When spending $45 for a meal of three dishes that you're expecting to be as you've had in the past and to find it so poorly done, it makes me think twice about wanting to go back again. We will probably give it one more chance, but I am being generous with this review giving them 2 stars. If this had been our first visit they would've been lucky to receive 1. If you live in the Tigard/Tualatin area Pacific Breeze (PB) is the best choice I have come across for reasonably priced quality Thai food. I have been going to PB for several years now and have not been disappointed yet! They have typical Thai dishes, and a nice selection of Vietnamese choices as well. I have ordered from both menus, and have been equally satisfied. Chicken Pho, Pad Gau Prau, Pad Kee Mau, Yellow Curry... The staff is friendly and very accommodating to special requests in dishes. Once they even made a dish for me that I had eaten at a different Thai restaurant, but was not on their menu. The waitress went back and asked the cook if he knew the dish, and he did! So PB gets two thumbs up for being friendly and very customer oriented. The food is good, and it is very reasonably priced. If mango is in season, they make a large portion of Mango and Sticky Rice dessert that is a great dish to share! read more
