Nice find! Because there are Thai places on every other corner in the greater Portland area, it's nice to find one that really floats your boat. Pacific Breeze is a keeper! --Fried Egg Rolls (meat version): Ugliest things I've ever seen, but damn if they aren't tasty! We will definitely order these again. Would be even better with some fresh mint leaves, vermicelli, and lettuce wraps to dip it into the sweet fish sauce. But even on their own, delicious! --Tom Yum soup to rival my favorite at Thai Basil in Lake Oswego. I like the shrimp version, though I wish they'd take the tails off. Makes it cumbersome to eat and bite the tails off. --Yellow curry with chicken was THE BEST I've had to date in the great northwest. Potatoes, carrots onions, peppers and your choice of meat or tofu in a great sauce over white rice. Very generous serving to share. --And from the Vietnamese portion of the menu, we've tried the bun (pronounced "boon") with grilled shrimp and those shrimp were finger-licken' good. Friendly staff. We got our food to go, but looked like a decent place to dine in as well, especially if you venture to sit in the tables along the front window (sitting cross-legged on pillows at a low table). We already have "must order" favorites and we look forward to sampling more from their menu. A great find. Would be a plus if they'd post their full menu online. P.S. Difficult to review and rate. Will update if we return. Food is solid good, better than your average Thai around (for excellent authentic like grandma made Vietnamese go to Mai Asia). Service was gawd awful the night we went, I still laugh over it. We ordered appetizer of fried wontons, som yum salad and a curry plus noodle bowl. Food was very good, but we were dying of thirst along with half the other patrons on a busy Friday. I also had a pot of tea, which went dry. The restaurant appeared to have one water pitcher for the whole restaurant which filled two tables glasses at best. The servers would leave to refill the water or so we thought and NOPE, no water for you...they'd come out with more food. This went on for 30 or more minutes. People next to us on both sides were fending for themselves asking for the pitcher and serving those around them. I tipped our table buddy as a joke. As everyone before me said, portions are ample. Always really good Thai. My favorites here are the fried egg rolls, yellow curry and Pad Thai. Six years ago, this restaurant was the first place I tried Thai food. I can't count the dozens of times I've eaten here. I have tried several other Thai restaurants since my initiation but this is always on the top of my favorite's list, just below the downtown E-San's location. I notice that usually urban Thai is far superior to suburban Thai but Pacific Breeze is an exception. It's better than several other city Thai places. I always order vegetarian and the plates are filled with delicious vegetables. The staff are always friendly. One of my favorite parts about Pacific Breeze is the raised sitting area. You can sit at a conventional American table or you can sit cross-legged at a short table. read more

This could be the best Thai place in the SW suburbs, and competes very well against another favorite, Sawatdee, in Sherwood. The owner told us they've made some changes to the menu, adding a more Viet dishes, and pairing back a few of the Thai items. Monica and I had lunch here today. We were both impressed, and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, especially when the check was just $30 for two with food to take home. We had a pot of jasmine tea and it was free. As a surprise, they brought us cups of a new soup they were sampling. I had the spicy garlic stir fry (#35) w/chicken, and Monica had Pho with lean beef and brisket. We shared the house special fried rice (#47) and the pork egg rolls. Wow! My chicken was sooo tender and there were lots of veggies to balance things out. The seasoning was fantastic. Monica's Pho was better than Pho Van. The fried rice was chock full of pork, chicken, Asian sausage, and shrimp, along with Thai basil, carrots, peas, sweet onions, and some egg. This stuff is addictive. The atmosphere in this place is clean and comfortable, with soft lighting and a decent gaps between the tables so you don't feel crowded. The server was young and wasn't confident recommending dishes other than vegetarian fare, but she was very polite. Great for lunch or dinner. I've been coming here for four years and will continue to because of the location. I just wish the food was more consistent!! They don't use a gluten free soy sauce so don't attempt to order anything soy based gluten free you you will get whatever sauteed in garlic and oil. I have ordered Pad Thai with varying results. Sometimes it's overcooked oily and dark and other times a more appealing orange with a great fresh lime kick. The Pad Se Ew is great, as long as you don't ask for modifications. The menu here is the best part, being able to order Vietnamese salad rolls and Pad Thai at the same table is great, ad they have decent Pho as well. Lots of options. Great take out Thai food! I don't love eating in the restaurant as much, but we often will grab take out here. It has been a little more hit and miss lately. They messed up our order last time, I should have checked before we left since it was take out and I didn't find out till we got home. Was especially bummed because it was our Pad Thai and they make great Pad Thai. I also really like their Pad-See-Ew! The curries are good too. Simply the best asian restaurant in Tigard, maybe in the entire suburbs. A large menu full of authentic Vietnamese and Thai dishes with giant portions. Language usually isnt an issue, service is pretty accommodating, even when it gets busy. My favorite dish would have to be the Pho, any of the Thai stirfrys, and the salad rolls or the Viet rice plates. They also have normal items like General Tsos, fried rice etc. read more

My husband got the beef salad and said it was so bad, he could not and did not eat it. The chicken pho was ok and the fresh rolls were just sliced ice berg lettuce with one small shimp. Their red curry is really, really good - ask for extra egg plant (I skip the bell pepper). It's spicy, a very deep curry flavor and it has depth of flavors. Their stir fry selection is all good, but their pad thai needs some tweaking. The prices aren't awful, and used to be much lower, but it's very tasty and good for families. read more

Hungry for Thai food, I decided to checkout this restaurant knowing full-well I dislike Vietnamese/Thai restaurants. I have always met this type combination restaurants with disappointment. I really like this place. The yellow curry with chicken is outstanding. It comes with carrots, potatoes, green/red peppers and onions in a sauce that they will spice up as much as you like. I really like having a curry that is extra saucey so I can put some on my rice. Having eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants near and far (though sadly, none actually located in Thailand) my husband and I are of the opinion that Thai food is something you can only fuck up. On our first visit last Friday night, Pacific Breeze delivered an experience that was somewhat short of awesome, but probably worth a return visit. The lighting in the restaurant is oddly bright and better suited to a dentist's office than a restaurant, but was improved once our waitress turned the lights down to accomodate my husband's complaint of glare bouncing off the glass-topped table. As usual, we ordered up the salad rolls and as usual, they tasted like salad rolls. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Hubs ordered Pad Ga Prau for his entree and I ordered Panang Curry. Both dishes were tasty, although I was reminded why I never order curry dishes - I think I gained a pants size as I ingested what must have been a weeks worth of calories in that coconut milk. Still, it was delicious and they got the "medium bordering on hot" spice level precisely right which doesn't always happen. All in all, a good meal, though not what I'd call a remarkable one. Points off for the dirty salt and pepper shakers, microbrew only in the bottle, and hospital lighting. Points on for the friendly wait staff and perfectly spiced Panang. Oh, and they don't skimp on the rice like some of the fancier joints in town. read more

The food at Pacific Breeze is awesome! It's down the street from my mom's house, so when we visit we always find ourselves dining here at least once. We've tried several dishes here, and usually order family style and share. We're big fans of the fresh shrimp/salad rolls (I think that's what they are called) wonton soup and pad see eew (spelling?). The portions are large (we always end up with leftovers to take home) and the quality is good. I don't think that we've ever ordered something that we've been dissapointed with. The only reason that I downgraded them a star is because the interior really isn't very nice, the tables and chairs look tacky/cheap and don't make for the best ambiance. read more

Lately I've been looking for a good Thai restaurant on the west side. At each restaurant I order the Thai beef salad and an order of spring rolls with nauc mon or sweet chile sauce if they don't do the vietnamese dipping sauce. I won't go so far as to say that the food here was the best I've had but it was pretty good, with one exception. I like my food spicy. I regularly east ghost pepper hot wings so I know spicy. I had the typical discussion about heat levels with the server, American or Thai heat levels and was assured that they served there food Thai hot. What was interesting was that even though I could see the chile flakes and seeds on the salad it had almost no heat. Obviously the cook broke the cardinal rule of taste, taste and taste again. I'll go back and if the food is spicy enough to even be American spicy at a four star I'll up the stars to four. So if your looking for competent Thai cooking and don't like your food on the spicy side Pacific Breeze is a good bet. read more

I have ordered several items on their menu, and haven't been let down. They have a fantastic panang curry chicken (I add pineapple to it) and it's quite tasty! There are few Asian eateries that can blow me away and this is easily one of them. Pacific Breeze is by far the best Thai and Vietnamese restaurant in the Pacific Northwest. The only other mixed Asian restaurant this good is thee Noodle World chain in Los Angeles County. My boyfriend and I shared a chicken phó, basil fried rice, and green curry and all three were phenomenal. The chicken pho far exceeded my expectations - the broth was really well done and there was a perfect ratio of chicken to noodles. With some chili oil and hoisin sauce, I worked the soup to perfection. The fried rice (which I think defines how good a restaurant is) was perfect. I've had a few previously that were really oily without having much flavor and this fried rice was as far from that as possible! It contained broccoli, carrots, peppers and lots of fresh basil! The green curry looked oddly mint green (I was a little worried cause it's usually more of a yellow-green but wow! It was so good! I was pretty amazed - it was flavorful but also packed a good spice punch! I live four hours away in Walla Walla, WA and was in town to do some shopping but after having this food I'll be back in the Portland area much more often! Hands down, the best thai restaurant I've ever been to. The food here is amazing, and the service is top notch. It takes a while for the food to arrive at your table, but it just goes to show how much time they put into it. Everything I've tried on the menu is awesome, from the som tum, pad thai, red curry, pineapple rice, etc. The value you get is amazing - very reasonable prices for the quantity and quality of the food. We settled on this place since it was close by and well rated. And goodness are we glad we did. We received awesome service from the wait staff. They were always close by and ready with everything before we even had a chance to ask. The atmosphere was a bit more formal than we expected. But it was nice. Definitely somewhere I'd recommend for a date night or even just a really good meal. I love that all of their dishes minus some of the appetizers were available in vegetarian. I can't count the number of places I've gone that doesn't offer more than 5 vegetarian dishes . I also love that they have a price point for vegetarian dishes that is less than the meat option. We all know tofu doesn't cost as much as meat, but somehow us vegetarians are always stuck paying just as much as the meat eaters. We had the Siam platter which was a selection of Vegetarian appetizers. You have no idea how in love I was with the idea that they actually had vegetarian appetizers. Because seriously a salad is not a vegetarian appetizer! I had the Lemon Grass Tofu and it was delicious! Stopped for lunch as we were passing through town and very happy we did. Some of the best Vietnamese food both my wife and I have had. The Tom Yun soup was the perfect balance of hot and sour with an excellent flavor. I had #28 and my wife #30 both stir fries and both had wide variety of flavors in each dish. The dishes are also very large, two people could share one dish and still be full at the end. By first look walking in, it looks good. Reminiscent of cafeteria setting tbh. The menu is a good size. The food tastes good. However, I can't eat onions. I have an allergy. After discussing this with the waitress, I asked if the dish can be made without onions. She said yes of course. It came with onions. This mistake can happen anywhere, however, with a hand written receipt, she didn't even mark it. The bathroom, oh my.
