However, as much as we enjoyed the food and atmosphere, there was a supervisor or manager named Sylvia (I think that was her name). Unfortunately, the way she treated the staff was very disappointing. She was especially unkind to the server and the food runner (the girl bringing the food out). Watching this made our experience uncomfortable. We had originally planned to return four more times during our visit at different days and times, but after seeing her attitude and behavior, we decided not to come back. It also made my nieces and nephew feel uncomfortable. Since Sylvia appeared older and more experienced than most of the staff, we expected her to guide and support the team. The first time we came when they just opened, the nice manager lady told us it's perfectly fine if it's outdoor. We had a good time and spent over $200 for just both of us. I agree with another Yelper who gave 3.5 stars. Our experience did not meet the price point. The timing of service felt rushed. Our server was kind but we think he was ready to go home and it was hard to "be in the moment." We were overcharged for two mocktails although they were tasty. They were out of ingredients to mix a promoted cocktail. Our appetizer glazed ribs were chewy. (I may have enjoyed them anyway if it wasn't removed so quickly.) We did enjoy our seafood dishes and Thai brussels. There is potential here but even the bathroom was out of sorts. They really can bring everything up a notch for a solid 4 stars. read more

We visited Pacific Catch in Brea on a Friday night a little over a week ago to celebrate a birthday, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. We had reservations for a party of five and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our server was outstanding from the start. He immediately brought waters, offered thoughtful drink recommendations, and checked back at just the right times throughout the evening. I ordered the caramelized piña colada, and it was unlike any I've had before -- absolutely delicious and unique. While deciding on entrées, we ordered the edamame and guacamole with chips. Everything came out with impeccable timing. Our server was knowledgeable, offered excellent menu suggestions, checked on us periodically, and never once made us feel rushed. Based on his recommendation, I ordered the Barramundi sea bass with Thai Brussels sprouts and Okinawan purple sweet potato. It was incredible. My husband had the Alaskan cod fish and chips with sweet potato fries and said it was the best fish and chips he has ever had -- the cod was perfectly flaky. Others in our group ordered the taco trio and took our server's advice to try three different varieties. They said every single one was equally delicious. Another person ordered the salmon and loved it as well. Even though we were completely full, our server described the dessert options so well that we couldn't resist ordering one to take home. It was unique and absolutely worth it. The general manager, Bill, greeted us shortly after seating and checked in throughout the evening, not only with us but with multiple tables, making sure everything was perfect. That level of attentiveness stood out. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- new, spotless, and thoughtfully decorated. It's honestly impressive how smoothly everything operated considering they recently opened. We left saying how nice it is to have such a fantastic restaurant so close to home. The restaurant is new and quite packed! We made reservation and got seated right on time yay! Overall, you could tell the restaurant was new and haven't found their groove yet. You can tell there were a lot of employees running around but not as efficient. Our server and hostess was sweet. The food did taste pretty mid for the price/atmosphere but that could be again, not finding their groove yet. I came home looking at the menu because they asked me to sign up for their rewards program and I realized my appetizer was missing wonton chips. Food was good, but not great. She had the fish and chips, I had the lobster roll. It was a smaller portion than I expected for the price and they hadn't split the roll all the way through, so the portion of lobster sat mostly on top. A few pieces of the lobster were a little tough, but acceptable overall. Certainly not the best I've had, which was from a food truck, by the way. Fountain drinks were weak on carbonation. No salt & pepper on the table and when asked for, they brought small bowls; flaky sea salt isn't the best for French fries. We sat outside and in spite of many other couples at 4 top booths, and many empty booths, we were given a 2 top table. The booths all had overhead heaters and we didn't, which made things chilly when the wind picked up. They could really use some way to keep the wind from blowing through the west side patio, as it usually does in the evenings. Server was overly friendly and wanted to chat more than was comfortable. One mixed and one fountain drink seemed to take a while and when the drink arrived, they had to go back for the fountain drink. Been to the one in San Diego and Tustin. The one at Brea just opened. They have the best outdoor patio. You don't feel like your in Orange County. You feel like your at a tropical location. The food is always good here. Happy hour 7 days a week. The manager Bill stopped by and asked about our experience. I truly felt like they appreciated that we chose to dine with them. Aloha! What a beautiful restaurant! From the minute we walked in the host were very welcoming and we took seats at the beautiful bar for ALOHA HOUR. Hands down one of the best mai tai's I've ever had and the steak tacos were delicious. Our bartender was so friendly and explained to my husband all the different seafood options and my husband tried and loved them all. The key to a great restaurant is to have friendly employees that engage with you and they did just that. Even the manager Armando stopped by several times and we asked him all about this new gem of a restaurant. He was so friendly and even remembered our names when we were leaving.......We will be back. We ate at Pacific Catch for dinner during their soft opening. The hosts were very friendly and showed us the bar area where we requested to sit. The bar tenders made us feel comfortable. They were skilled and engaging and the service was accurate. All the food on the menu sounded good and there were several dishes we wanted to try. We ordered 2 small plates; the guacamole-poke, and the lobster roll. For the entree we ordered the miso black cod which was, melt in your mouth, the best cod we've eaten. First, What an amazing first experience. Being from Brea. We were very excited to check out The Pacific Catch. One of the first full service restaurants to open, in our multi-million dollar redevelopment of the Brea Mall. We were impressed from start to finish. We were immediately greeted at the door with enthusiasm and smiles. The ambience and decor felt upscale and family friendly. The music made us feel like we were on a tropical Island. We wanted to check things out so we sat at the patio Bar. The bar was big, polished and clean. A bit empty, but they just opened last week. We were greeted within seconds by our bartender Andy. He presented our menus and guided us through it, as it was our first visit. As suggested, my husband tried The Classic Mai Tai. "Tropical and Fresh" he described it. That's when we found out about Aloha Friday. Don't forget your Hawaiian shirt. I wanted a glass of wine and was encouraged to try the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Perfect for a warm afternoon on the patio. We didn't bring a large appetite, however we couldn't resist sharing The Homemade Crab Cakes after described by Andy. They were not only delicious. They were beautifully plated and we finished every bite. When we commented how delicious they were his response was that "their chefs make food with love". By that point we were touched by the passion and hospitality. We were also greeted by Emily. She was very kind and polite. Ensuring we had every need at hand. I don't think our water glasses were ever near empty. Before we left, we asked Andy if he was the manager? He said no, he was new to the company and owed it to his training and support team. I usually don't complain, just leave and don't return. Showed the dish to the servers who said he would discuss it with management. Never saw him or the manager again. When you walk into the restaurant you feel like you are on vacation! I love the decor. Our server Lauren was lovely. We brought our 2 kids and they had the chicken and beef bowl. Very good portion and the meat was good. Hubby and I got the rainbow chirashi bowl and it's a glorified poke bowl with very good raw fish. It's a big portion perfect for 2. The guava Rita is so good! Reviewing the menu is like, "give me one of everything" Our party of four started out with the homemade crab cakes, Ahi Poke, Sushi Rolls and Guacamole and chips. Everything was fresh, excellently spiced and delicious. (save room for the Mains !). We had Summer Sea Bass, Shrimp Al Pastor, Japanese Wasabi original Ahi Poke bowl, and the lobster rolls. Everything was superb. Also, considering everything is sourced from sustainable fisheries, and freshly delivered, really enhances the overall experience. Finally, a shout out to the bartenders and staff. a great selection of beers and wine, and the ability make great cocktails. I love Old Fashioneds, had the Tiki version. It was unique and GREAT, will definitely go back for one of those. Also had a custom made old fashioned , (I wasn't driving !). It was SO good ! My friend and I came in on a Tuesday. It's 50% off wine bottles every Tuesday. They have a great wine selection that I was so happy to see. I had to be convinced to come here because I got it confused with another fish chain. that's more fast food dishes. This place is not fast food!! The indoors is so beautiful.
