I am elated we have a Pacific Catch in Santa Monica! I was a regular their Bay Area locations. This classy casual restaurant and bar are a perfect addition to Santa Monica Weekdays they offer food specials, I had the Taco Platter with cod and shrimp crispy style. Generous portions included black beans, chips & salsa. Love the presentation and everything was expertly prepared. My friendly bartender Sam made me a delicious Lemongrass Mojito with Flor de Cana rum. How refreshing! Too many restaurants use bad rums like Bacardi or Captain Morgan. The ambiance is classy, beachy, comfortable with 2 dining areas, bar seating or the choice of 3 patio areas. I was under stress after losing my house to the palisades fire and came across Pacific Catch. I ordered the crispy Baja fish tacos and husband got the lobster roll. He said it was the best he'd had in a long time. My tacos had a HUGE piece of fish. 1. Took ten minutes to be acknowledged & offered water. We flagged down a bus boy asking for water as we waited for our waiter. Finally a waiter arrived. 2. The food - ordered a salmon sandwich. There was a small sliver of salmon in each half, a small sliver of avocado & a piece of lettuce, the sparsest sandwich with no taste nor substance. The string bean portion was beyond small, perhaps ten total limp string beans coated in a slimy brown sauce which tasted like peanut butter. Although we asked, when ordering, if the french fries were freshly made opposed to frozen, we were told they were freshly made. However, they arrived as pale cold tasteless nearly raw frozen commercial fries - inedible. We asked for bread. Three one inch crusts resembling stale bread arrived with a pat of butter. We laughed as we thought this ridiculous portion was a joke. The charge for this stale bread was $2.00, outrageous! We departed hungry, overpaid around $35, & went to Sweet Greens! Disappointing food. Poor service. Avoid this restaurant. read more

This was just bad food and chain restaurant service, 100% bad experience. Ordered Brussel sprouts and fish and chips, asked the waitress to make sure the fries were extra well done. Brussel sprouts soggy oily undercooked mess. Fish was at best semi soggy and tasteless, fries were just an undercooked mess. Nothing brought to the table was remotely warm, and was brought to table by someone not our waitress, she basically never came to the table after food drop off, so to complain and ask for re-do was not happening. When table was cleared, it was obvious much of the food was uneaten, Brussel sprouts were basically untouched, no question from the waitress as to why food was not eaten. Was drinking a diet Coke & got charged for a refill. There is nothing special about this place, there's way better ways to spend money at a restaurant that seems to care. read more

The food was delicious! But they sat us by the bar, although we had a reservation and when we arrived, at 5:20pm, the restaurant was half empty. Our waiter was very nice but he was also bartending, and when the restaurant got busy, he had to make drinks. No one checked on us, and one of the hosts ended up giving us our check. Also, the waiter accidentally dropped one of our orders on the floor, and the kitchen had to remake it. No one told us. We found out after we inquired why one person in our party was left without food for 15 minutes while the rest of us got our orders. I don't think we'll be back. This place has the worst service. The food was good but the service was horrible. First we got seated in the bar area with children. Second it took 20 minutes to get a server. Third when we did it took 10 minutes to get drinks. Fourth the meal came out the same time as our appetizers. Then I had to ask for the bill. The service in this place was pathetic. Pacific Catch is new to the area and we thought we'd give it a try via DoorDash. Maybe in person food is better but the delivery quality food not good. We had the coconut shrimp which arrived so hard that we tossed it. Also, fish and chips a disappointment. Greasy, dry, inedible. Next time we will try dining in house, and if we order via DD, maybe items that hold up better via delivery. Look forward to trying the Miso Black Cod, Pupu Platter, and my partner, can't seem to get enough eating daily tacos, and will try that. Since it's new, will try again. Everything... incredible food, impeccable service, attentive staff, comfortable & spacious seating, & inviting ambiance were all top notch and earned an A+ from my perspective. Their food is very fresh, tasty, healthy and visually appealing. I was blown away by their scrumptious grilled striped sea bass with chimichurri sauce... divine! I chose the kimchi fried rice with a fried egg as my side dish... mouth-watering! Their house salad was one of the best tasting yet healthiest salads I've ever enjoyed. It is comprised of organic greens, shiitake mushrooms, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, edamame, & diakon sprouts in a heavenly miso dressing. Their enticing chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream satisfied our sweet craving and was the perfect last course. It was great! Our server Hannah was so nice! The food is really good, but the entrees stood out much more than the apps and sides. We got the calamari(app), broccoli(side), kimchi fried rice(side), Miso cod(entree), Korean steak(entree), and sashimi bowl(entree). The miso cod tastes like any miso cod good but not super memorable, the Korean steak was amazing so tender and flavorful, and the sashimi was incredibly fresh. My recommendation is skip the apps and get multiple entrees(if in a group) they are big and come with a lot of food including sides on the entrees. read more

It's pretty casual, the bar was good, and the service was good. What stood out was the portion sizes. The food was good and came in large enough portions to have some to take home. We've all had bad service before, but Pacific Catch redefined what "bad" even means. For the first time in my life, I walked out of a restaurant without ever getting my food because after 1 hour and 20 minutes, the waitress finally admitted it would be another 20 minutes before anything arrived. At that point, we'd had enough and left. To give you an idea of how absurd this was, it took them an hour just to bring out edamame. Edamame. What made it even worse was the complete lack of accommodation or apology. No urgency, no concern for the fact that we were sitting there wasting our time. Just a bland, indifferent acknowledgment that our food was still nowhere in sight. Ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else read more

I went for happy hour with my pooch and sat on the outside patio. They were very accommodating and immediately brought a bowl of water for him. I had a shrimp taco, Excellent, fish taco very good, and the Brussels sprouts which were better than really good, I loved the seasoning and texture. And their signature drink " Mai Tai" which was great. Next time I would probably just get one shrimp taco the brussels sprouts in the mai tai as I was enough food. We Pacific Catch!! My husband and I have found our new favorite local restaurant! First of all, I am skeptical of eating seafood these days, even though I would like to eat it more often. I was told by an employee that Pacific Catch uses half wild and half sustainably farmed, and the farmed portion is in the top 10% of fisheries as tested and ranked (they've even turned orders that did not meet their standards) Though this is trust based, I do feel more comfortable eating their seafood. On top of that the food is delicious! Loved the miso black cod, kanpachi, seabass and salmon. We also love a good happy hour and to us theirs is the best in town! I mean where can you get a $6 hazy ipa and a $9 tasty cocktail? And the pupu platter for $25 is a steal with seabass skewers, charshu sliders, coconut fried shrimp and guacopoke. They not only excel at seafood, they have a mean steak taco! The meat is so tasty and tender. The staff is also wonderful. Shout out to Gregory and Abner! The GM Jim is just the coolest and the sweetest! He's somehow everywhere, greeting at the front, stopping to chat with guests at tables, and also expediting food!
