The worst meal we had at Pacific Catch this evening We were there about a month ago and very much enjoyed our meal ....this time, however , I don't know what happened but everything and I mean everything was quite dreadful for all 3 of us! 1. The alcohol beverage was Clearly watered down! 2. The pupu platter was served Without their 'sticky ribs' They 'ran out ' : it was only 6:30 !!' 3. EVERYTHING was served cool: the french fries, the baked beans, even the taco platter..all served cool.. When I asked for the beans to be returned to warm uo They retuned it with same cool temperature! 4. The chowder soup with the clams were so salty and the broth was horrid.. had to be returned . 5. The salmon bowl tasteless and also not warm! I spoke to Andrew, their manager...He took the soup and the pupu platter cost off the tab..... regardless .. in view of tonight's poor experience we clearly won't be returning ! read more

I placed a pick up order today and planned to eat at one of the tables but as soon as I sat down I was told I couldn't eat there. I was told all pick up orders have to take it somewhere else to eat. I placed a pick up order to avoid waiting on the food as I am on short lunch breaks. Keep in mind the restaurant was empty with only 3 other customers there. Had the very best dinner at Pacific Catch in Santa Monica. We were a party of three, and seated by the most gracious man at the front desk. We were impressed by the menu, and the overalll appearance of the restaurant, but our experience turbocharged when we met Noel. He sat down at our spare seat, and walked us through the menu and all of our options. HE WAS REALLY TERRIFIC! Reasonable prices- delicious fishes I've eaten at the pacific catch in San Francisco and this was just as good. We had fried calamari. Crispy and delicious. Saw a lot of buzz about this place. Seafood is my favorite and since we can't go out to Malibu this place was worth a try. The check in area everyone including manager were really friendly and pleasant. Walked us in and sat us down right away. Great open atmosphere and warm and cost seating. They did a nice job renovating this place from the old 800 degrees pizza. Let me start by saying that I will most likely give this place another chance. I usually give a place 2 trys before I make up my mind but here's the good and the bad. Waiter was friendly and nice. Thought it was odd that everything recommended was anything but fish but anyhow wanted to try a bunch of stuff so asked the waiter how the miso cod was. At $32 for 6oz portion I was skeptical but the waiter mentioned it's similar to "nobu" miso and if you have ever had that you know the umami and ecstasy that is for a tiny piece of fish. The fish was weird to say the least. Both me and my wife felt a little sick afterwards and not sure if it was cooked all the way. The side of rice and green beans was good although the rice was bland and unseasoned. The green beans were honestly the best part of that dish. It was moist but lacked the flavor and hint of miso that you were expecting. The fish and chips were what you would expect. Flaky and crispy fish cooked perfectly and came with fries and slaw. Fries were seasoned but were somewhat soggy but all in all best dish we ordered. Coleslaw was nice too. Let me get to the taco trio which was by far the most disappointing dish we got. Three separate pieces of fish, salmon, seared tuna and yellowtail wrapped in nori filled with different variations and rice. The rice was the same as miso and was dry and overcooked. Lacked the sumo lace flavor of sushi rice that you would expect that can extenuate the fish and allow the freshness to see through. The worst part was the nori was soggy and you couldn't even bite through it. Basically the whole thing fell apart and was pretty mediocre. Hopefully they correct that. For a seafood spot the fish should be highlighted and this was certainly not a dish that I would recommend. The final thing was the broccolini that was just plain. It lacked the snap crisp that you would expect and most likely tasted like it was pre made and just tossed right before service. Seems like this place is fairly new but has several locations so they probably will work out the kinks of the food and service in the future. Of note, the server never really came back to ask how the food was and I finished my ice tea half way through the meal and no refill was offered so thought that was off but then again we went to an early dinner and maybe it was just an off time. The bar seemed kinda nice so next time I will go for happy hour and try some apps and drinks. All in all a nice location and decent food but I'd say has some kinks to figure out. read more

Absolutely delightful lunch at Pacific Catch. The restaurant is lovely and if you're sitting by a window, you can almost see the ocean. The seating was very comfortable and spread apart so we didn't have a feeling of sitting on top of someone else. Service was impeccable. We had a great waitress and I'm so sorry. I don't remember her name because she really was wonderful. We had the lobster roll, miso soup, taco plate, and everything was incredibly delicious. They were ample portions and since we ate everything, we just didn't have a room for dessert! We will be returning. Parking was very easy. There is a large city lot around the corner with 90 minutes free parking and it's also possible to get parking on Wilshire depending on the time of day. read more

I ate her on Sunday, it was my 2nd time. I picked up my order and there were some missing items. It took me a few times just t o get someone on the phone. It was asking to leave a voicemail, which I later found out wouldn't have mattered. After I spoke with the Server/Waiter I told him that there were items missing from my order. He said there was no manager on duty who could help me, and that he or someone would contact me the next day. 2 days later and I had to call again, only to speak to the manager. I gave her my information but she was unable to locate the order using my email and phone number. She said she would contact me back and work out some kind of refund and that was earlier today. Very difficult to get a hold of someone when there is a problem in my order. I paid good money to have a good meal, I would think getting my order correct would be the bare minimum. Well the menu looks great but we have been sitting here for 30 minutes in an empty restaurant (to be fair there are four tables) waiting for someone to take our order. We did however get some attention- the manager came over to let us know our Chihuahua, who was sleeping quietly in my husband's lap (on the dog friendly patio) needed to be moved to the floor. We went here for dinner last Saturday night. The restaurant is very big and has a bar in the middle. We started with the Coconut Shrimp which were amazing! I've really never had better Coconut Shrimp and wish I had ordered this for dinner. We also had the fried calamari and the shrimp tempura roll. Both of these appetizers were fair. One of us had the fish and chips. The fish was good but fries were soggy. We also had the Chilean Sea Bass which was drenched in a chimichurri sauce that had way too much citrus. Unfortunately the sauce covered the green beans as well and the fries were soggy. We also had the salmon which was a bit on the dry side. Finally, we had the Mexican Grill with seared shrimp which was a huge dish, perfect for sharing. Service was a bit forgetful. We asked for a glass and fork and it took forever to get it. A very light filled restaurant with attentive and pleasant service. Close to ocean and nearby Santa Monica parking lot 2. Kinda reminds me of a fast casual chain like a Chilis for seafood. The fish (miso cod, sea bass tacos and cod fish and chips) was really fresh as were the sides. We loved the Japanese eggplant app and the chili lime fries. All in all a very good experience with an opportunity for an afternoon post meal walk along the ocean bluffs. read more

Service is great, super friendly attentive staff, menu is good, drinks selections is decent, prices aren't terrible for Santa Monica. Inside is pleasant. The food is really simple and pretty bland, nothing very memorable. Poke guac starter was great, best thing we ate. Salmon bowl was really dull, an insane amount of rice, could barely make a dent in it. Fish tacos were just fine but everything needs a sauce or some flavor. The sides were embarrassing. Black beans taste like water. Fries were limp and undercooked, really let the whole meal down. Rating should be a 3.5 but can't justify giving it a 4. Might try again in a long while to see if they fix the problems but it won't be anytime soon. read more

A couple sitting next to us sent their soup back because it was cold. On top of that drinks took a lifetime to arrive, which were bland and made the long wait even more frustrating. This is a great location! The food was OK. The service is not that great My first server , Samantha, was very friendly & helpful. I had ordered some sushi. And as soon as I was done, mind you, the bar was not busy the other server picture below hurry up and grab my stuff like she just wanted me out of there. Instead of asking me if I wanted anything else or a refill on my drink, I told her that I wasn't done eating. I wanted to get something else and instead of giving me time to look at the menu or ask me what I wanted she just came over and gave me a dirty look and said OK what you want it's the attitude she had. So I told her come back in a minute. I'm gonna look at the menu. Instead of being a decent server, she just kept her back to me the whole time when I tried to get her attention a few times. People like her shouldn't be working anywhere because clearly she has a problem. She is in the service industry. Her hair being unkempt was completely disgusting and then on top of that her attitude you wait for someone to order and if they're calling you and you clearly hear them you come over and you take the order. It's still like to know what she mumbled under her breath, cause I have quite a few words for her as well .
