We came to celebrate my mother's 81st bday (and technically her 80th as well since I hadn't seen her in a year...thx covid). This is the first indoor dining experience I had in CA in over 15 months. I was hoping for a "very clean" experience. It was just a "clean" experience. Booth seats were not clean, but table tops, menus, bathrooms, etc were very clean. We ordered the Cobo Calamari to start. Was disappointed as it was very skimpy calamari which meant 50% breading. The dipping sauce was good and they were well cooked, but there was no al dente texture. Thankfully we were talked out of ordering the ceviche since we ordered the $60 mixed grill for 2, which includes one 6oz salmon filet and a 6oz Kanpachi yellowtail and 8 skewered shrimp atop a giant plate of Brussels sprouts (good luck finishing that), PLUS two sides. We chose tumeric-tahini cauliflower (which had the best sauce/flavor) and miso-butter broccolini (which was dry and flavorless). We paired it with the 2017 Patz &Hall Pinot Noir (regularly $66, but half off bottles on Tuesday). The salmon was cooked very well (still moist and tender), but the yellowtail was over cooked. I recommend telling them you want it on the light side of medium (I didn't think I had to tell a fish restaurant how to cook the fish). We had a good first "post(?)"-covid dine-in experience but was disappointed that there was no thought to comp a bday dessert especially when our bill rang out to $140. read more

Recently visited Pacific Catch with a friend for lunch. While the patio was inviting, it was close to 100 ... too hot to sit outside. We had a booth which was comfortable enough for our long lunch. But overall I was unimpressed with the interior of the restaurant. Just seemed kind of dull. I had the Mexican Grill. A large portion which I could not finish. (They may have given me a full portion rather than the had which I requested.) My friend had an ahi tuna sandwich which came with a large side of cole slaw. The slaw looked delicious. I didn't sneak a taste but it appeared to have a vinegar and oil base rather than mayonnaise. The best IMO. The wine list was nicely laid out with general descriptions of various reds and whites. Many decent options by the glass or bottle. Service was a bit slow so assume they are understaffed. Have learned to be patient at restaurants these days! Will try Paciifc Catch again and hopefully boost them a star. read more

My favorite restaurant. Love the miso salad and the slaw with sesame oil instead of mayo. Baja tacos are delicious, yellow tail outstanding and the western lobster roll was so tasty. You might see me there when you visit. This a hidden seafood gem in Walnut Creek. They also have Korean bbq which my husband really likes. Catch of the day! We where in the downtown Walnut Creek during a weeknight when we spontaneuosly decided to check out Pacific Catch! Since it was our first time we decided to get just a couple of drinks and an appetizer called the Pupu Platter while we checked out the service, ambience and the menu. What a catchy and funny name this Pupu Platter but it was enough to try some of their appetizers in one order. The platter included 2 sticky short ribs, 2 ahi poke bombs, 3 coconut shrimps, spicy yellow tail ceviche and tortilla chips. The two I like the most were the poke bombs and the yellow tail crevice. Both tasted fresh and flavorful. I would definitely get these two by itself next time. The service was good and since we sat near the bartender the bartender served us drinks and took our order as well. Overall we felt good about the service. The ambience was modern but with a touched of coastal and island feel decor. It's a good place to hangout with friends while having small bites. Speaking of small bites, there are plenty in the menu. The menu has plenty of selection for tacos, pokes, salads/bowls and fish and chips . In addition, for the fish order, there are options on how you want your fish is cooked. This is something I'll order on my next visit. Overall, there are enough variety of items to satisfy every appetite. Not all Pacific Catch are equal. I could not help but to compare them to their Corte Madera location. Ordering their Korean BBQ Steak, I was hoping it would be exactly the same but that wasn't the case. I'd say the taste was less bold to my liking. However, I can see it's a matter of preference. It's still a win dish for me, but likely I would try their other dishes on my next visit. I tried their furikake fries, but wasn't really impressed. Although it wasn't too bad, I would opt for something else the next time around. Their online ordering was great, but their pickup stalls was a bit odd. Luckily it wasn't that busy, but could imagine it would be a problem given there's not much room to maneuver your vehicle. Went here with coworkers around lunch time. Place is big and spacious. Not too busy, but busier by the time we left around 1. I've been there before but the menu is updated and is more of an Asian fusion now. Lots of poke/ sushi options. I had the ahi chirashi. It was gigantic. Three kinds of tuna over sushi rice with cucumbers and seaweed salad. My coworkers got the taco platter and the lunch special cod salad. Everything was a very good sized portion. Coconut shrimp was decent however nothing special, the ceviche was sour and too acidic for my liking with the tortilla chips having the consistency of pita chips. I personally think that for the price Pacific Catch charges the quality of the food should be superb. We had our Mothers Day lunch on Sunday, food was good, The server was standard. The reason for my writing is that the server gave me the wrong bill. I paid substantially too much. After figuring this out when I got home, I called. I would like to mention 2 people that were AWESOME in assisting me with the issue. I love pacific catch. Their wasabi bowl has never failed me over the past 10 years. Their Baja fish tacos are unlike anything I can get in Folsom, and their leche rolls are crave worthy. Wanted to try this place in Walnut Creek & right away the ambiance and vibe was immaculate. The employees were extremely nice & were welcoming to us. The indoors looked really cute and it was such a nice place for a cute little date that felt fancy enough but you didn't feel out of place for if you were wearing something a little less fancy. The ambience at Pacific catch is nice. The food here was hit or miss depending on the dish. I had the fresh catch sea bass with Brussels sprouts and broccolini as the sides. However, my wife for the poke bowl, while the fish and ingredients were all fresh, the entire dish was very sour, we think the bowl was doused with some sort of vinaigrette sauce. Came here for a quick dinner bite on a Thursday night because the place had the least amount of wait time. We ordered kimchi fried rice and calamari for appetizers. I ordered the three taco plate entree and my friend ordered the salmon asian chopped salad. The apps were good; however, the rice was a little overcooked and could have been spicier. I was highly disappointed with my entree. Both fried fishes were cold and they could've used more coleslaw. The only taco I finished was the shrimp one. The plate wasn't served hot, it was even past room temperature. The chips seemed stale, taqueria chips are way better and fresher; though, I guess that's not a fair comparison. We ordered the brownie dessert to finish. The brownie seemed to be store-bought vs. freshly baked as it was stiff and cold vs. warm and gooey. I and my wife celebrated our anniversary at this place and it didn't disappoint us. You park at their public parking which is only a few minutes from the restaurant. Don't park on the street since it is very limited. The place is very clean and the service is very good. The menu has a lot of items but we decided to get their calamari for appetizers and their 2 person grilled items. We had their sea bass, salmon and shrimp with house salad and mashed potatoes. The calamari is very good and fresh. The 2 item grill also comes with 3 sides and we opted for mashed crab potatoes, house salad, and Thai brussels sprouts. I liked the grilled Brussels sprouts and crab mashed potatoes All of the grilled seafood is delicious. The salmon is not dry and the sea bass tasted fresh. I had no idea this was a franchise until we sat arrived and sat down. I immediately started to have some negative feelings about the food after finding that out, but am happy to say I was wrong. Nice big menu with a variety of types of food in the form of seafood. They have Mexican, Asian, and then traditional fried seafood options. We started with the raw oysters and the calamari. The oysters were fantastic. The best oysters I have had, ever, I think. They serve them with caviar on top and you can add the cocktail sauce and horseradish. Delicious. The calamari was also good and came with a great chipotle sauce. I got the two taco meal and chose black beans and chips and salsa as my side. The traditional taco had the best flavor and the salsa was tasty. My mom got fish and chips and they were solid. The portions are generous; I found the spicy fish best, the shrimp and classic were not that special just good. My wife had the teriyaki bowl which she said was good because it tasted fine but could have used a little more sauce and/or seasoning. I had the caramelized pina colada. An absolute abject failure of management. Came in to sit on the patio, was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. Not a problem at all, or it wouldn't have been except it took north of 40 mins for the table to be ready. Management only had one server working, one. What is your actual thought process with that? There are multiple, and I mean multiple groups of people waiting for tables and you thought it was a good idea to only have ONE server? Oh, and the drink I ordered, and paid for, wasn't available. Didn't learn that of course until after I'd already paid. This review is about the absolute lack of professionalism from the management staff and in no way reflects on the bar staff itself, Alyssa you were great! I understand the impact that COVID has had on the restaurant industry, but this experience was truly an abomination. I've been to this location at least 40 times since they opened, it was great each and every time; welcoming and friendly. After today I'm not sure I'll ever be back. read more

The salad was nice it had cherry tomatoes an edamame. The dressing was simple but nothing special or memorable. Overall I would repeat when in the area. My family and I went to pacific catch for my mom's birthday lunch yesterday! Caylee was a great server! She perfected our orders along with meeting any requests that we had. Her positive attitude made our meal just that much more enjoyable! This is actually the 2nd time that we've had her as a server and her excellent customer service keeps us coming back. We made reservations for a family dinner of 8 @ 5:15 pm arrived on time and was asked inside or out. I requesters outside if it was under umbrella. This hostess said that was no problem and another lady at the check in desk said to our hostess we only have one outside table for 8 and it's not under any protection. I was taken back by the Rude person making our hostess very uncomfortable. We proceeded out to Windy Gulch. Which only lasted for a few minutes, when I am assuming the manager approached me and said he would like to move us to another table under a protected area. Which we did and I have to say we had a GREAT time, bar service was GREAT, and my entire family raved at the service and food we received. This started out ugly ( how ever the rude person at the front desk should Not BE WORKING IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY) but thanks to our server and the manager turned out to be we will be back again. My wife have been eating at Pacific Catch for years and I have to say last night was almost our last.
